I don't have one yet, but I think that my family will have to eventually, if they do the same as they did with the PSone and slowly stop making games for the system. We still have a PS2 and it works fine, so we'll probably continue to use it until need be.

Like me Yeah Fail Was Epic. I keep on using my PS 2 but I want the PS3 because a bunch of cool games went out on the PS 3 and not 2. So it'ts a good thing to get it. And with the same price you got a BluRay DVD player so it's a good investment ^^

A friend of mine who is loyal to Playstation, but I encourage him to use an Xbox360 instead because of the whole bunch of great Xbox features like LiveArcade, Xbox Live, etc.. PS3 ones doesn't have that much. AND the 360 games are usually easily pirated compare to PS3 which are very hard to get pirated due to its complex structure. So therefore and hopefully he uses an Xbox360. If I were a console player like you all too, I'm aiming for the Xbox360.
Speaking of that, with the Xbox have their infamous Red Ring of Death, how about the PS3, does it have a fail-safe but annoying RROD?
Anyway, I can chat, but I won't become a console player as I'm not just a huge PC gamer, I'm also a very busy working adult too.

(a lot better cooling system). however forcing it would tell me if its got one. and no i'm not really a counsel gamer, its just its the only way to get some games sadly...

Speaking of Blu-Ray, a video retailer told me that Blu-Ray discs on a PS3 will destroy the lens which results on destroying the entire console, so I don't recommend watching Blu-Ray videos from there. If you want to watch Blu-Ray movies, the safest way has always been the Blu-Ray player itself. Similar case he told me about playing DVD movies on laptops, he told me you can only watch the movie on laptops is when you copy all of the files and turn the entire DVD into an ISO file, in that way, you watch the movie from reading the hard disk's ISO rather than the DVD you mount in your DVD-ROM.
As for the games, yeah it's true, no point torrenting the game when you know the console game disc contents are usually insanely large, so I prefer a pirated copy if I were you. But sadly, you won't find pirated PS3 games because they're very hard to pirate it out, the pirates gave up trying it again, so they rather pirate Xbox360 games instead, which are much easier.

Uhm Kokusho, I watched hundrdes of DVD's on my Dad's old laptop and nothing happened and it's a really old machine ( supposed to run Win200 - yes my dad upgraded it with time ). And Kokusho, I guess that this video retailer said that just because he refused to say " I don't know".

I cannot be very sure, sometimes I always take the "Better Safe than Sorry" step. Imagine if your PS3 console is destroyed from a non-stop Blu-Ray movie without giving the console a break, then boom, what's next? A total shock which you'll lose financially. Similar to when my room got ransacked before, I ran into a huge concussion or shock for a week.

If you want to watch Blu-Ray movies, the safest way has always been the Blu-Ray player itself. How on Earth does this make sense? Every PS3 game is printed on a Blu-Ray disc, because the PS3 uses a Blu-Ray drive. Why would using a Blu-Ray disc in a Blu-Ray drive harm the system? Anyway, I own a PS3, a 60gig system. I don't play it as much as my 360, but I use it a lot for Blu-ray movies and PS2 games I still have. It's been nice to have to play some cool games I'd have otherwise missed (MGS4, Infamous, the new Ratchet & Clank games).

If you read carefully, Max, I DID say Blu-Ray MOVIES! Not games! Since movie keeps running as the movie plays, you're making the lens to keep running. Games I'm not sure, but I bet it won't take up much power than the movies. Well, that's his opinion. It maybe a one is a million, but he told me if I want to watch Blu-Ray movies, always use the respective Blu-Ray movie players, not PS3 consoles.

I still think that ti's nonsense : it's like saying that if I play Need for Speed Most Wanted ( Or Carbon or whatever game you want that needs the DVD in ), it's fine but if I play a Movie from it's DVD I'm screwed ! That's just toal nonsense. No need to think a lot about it, Kokusho, that guy told you bullcrap, no less no more. And a so big thing would have been noticed by a LOT of people and spread over the internet, but I googled this and I found no answer. So I guess that it's a fake fact.
