-What do you mean there will be an "end to Jake and Rose? Giving anything else away would be ruining the ending. -Whom else among the top 13 greatest magical threats will be presented in the season, aside from the Huntsman and the ever-sinister D. Dragon? You don't have to mention names off the bat, but numbers among the list would be interesting to know... Half Baked- Krylock Demon Family Business- Hobgoblins Something Fishy This Way Comes- Kelpie Dreamscape- Chimera Academy- Kraken -First, where did you get your inspiration for the show to begin with? (You and the others) From comic books, TV shows, anime. -Second, do you ever check sites such as this to see what fans think? Or what about fanfictions- do you ever get ideas from those? Yes, I like to check sites to see what people think. Fans are very important to the process of making a TV show. When people asked for Kim Possible to have different outfits, we did. I am legally bound to not read fanfics. Sorry. -Will we find out what happened to Rose's parents, if she had a family? Yep, and it's tied into her future.

Okay, my last question of the night, Steve. And this one I'm interested in knowing about. The mysterious new dark-side enemy, Yang Jake... how far into the season until he/it shows himself to Jake for the first time?

Are you gonna have the season 2 episode transcripts online? Jeff Goode has season 1 on his website, so, I was wondering.

-Why did you re-animate the show, and is there any chance of the old animation style coming back?
Waaaaayyyyy back, when Jeff Goode created 'American Dragon' and brought it to Disney, he was paired with 2 artists. The ultra-nice guy Dave Filoni (right now directing the new 'Star Wars' animated series) and me. I was going to produce and direct the pilot , so Jeff and I worked on creating Jake's 'world'. Jake's world was a little different then. It included Brook the elf, Jamal, Jake's best friend and it was more about magical, mystical history. We came up the original designs and look of the show and much of that look still exists in the first season. Time passed, things happened and another ultra-nice guy was brought in to direct the show- Chris Roman. Chris took my designs and what had been developed and made it his own, like any talented artist would. Time passed again and I was asked to direct and produce the new season of Am Drag. I had a difficult task ahead of me, the ratings for Drag were good, but they could be better. It's a brilliant idea and a great show, but it needed a fresh, new outlook to bring in people that may not tune into a second season of a running show. Eddie Guzelian, Matt Negrete and I wanted to pull the show in a different direction. We needed a look to suit the new style of storytelling we wanted to tell. The show was to become more cinematic, more designed and I wanted to apply 'new rules' to the world of Jake. So, I pulled out the original designs from way back and I looked at the fine work that Chris Roman had done and I analyzed it. I wanted to make the show that Jeff and I envisioned at the very beginning. I hired a brilliant character designer Eric Wight, who previous claim to fame was the terrific designs for the as-yet-unseen 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' animated series and the comic book illustrations for 'The O.C.' I also wanted to create a new logic. The Jake Dragon design was a big concern. Jake is a 14-16 year old boy. He is short and kinda scrawny. When he transforms into a dragon, he would transform into a 14-16 year old short and scrawny dragon. Dragon muscles would not pop up from nowhere, he still needs to grow INTO an adult dragon. I would love the show to last forever and you would watch Jake grow and mature into the big, bad dragon that he is. If I started as the fully buff and ripped dragon, we would have nowhere to evolve to. That was logic that makes sense to me. Changing these designs took alot of thought and care. Am Drag is a project I absolutely loved and felt close to since I had been there at the beginning. So, in essence, the style of the show has somewhat evolved into the ORIGINAL idea that Jeff and I had in the first place.
I know it's unusual that a show has a running change in style, but it has been done before. Bruce Timm's 'Batman' is a perfect example of how a style shifted into the definitive version of how we now remember a TV series. We also took great care in how the animation actually moves. The acting is more expressive and the creatures are more fantastical. This is an exciting new world that is inspired by Cowboy Bebop, Batman, Buffy, Samurai Champloo and other most definitive sci/fi fantasy TV. I hope you will give the new look a chance, because I think we've got some real exciting adventures ahead.

Wow, that is a very nice explanation for the change. It does make a little more sense to the change in Jake as a dragon, and I personally can see how it would help to demonstrate future development for himself throughout the show.
Thanks for all the answers, Mr. Loter. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we greatly appreciate your attentiveness to the fanbase.

One more question: Are we going to see more developments with the Dragon Council? Maybe more of Chang, perhaps?

1. Will the fans find out any secrets about characters that were not known in the first season.
2. Given what you said about the Long family having a line of Dragon's I guess it's Jake''s dad took his wife's name when he married her. I hear some men do that now.

Wow, a new Star Wars series? Sounds fun and interesting. As for my question I wonder, will Haley be part in the role as she is also a dragon?

I still disagree with the change of Jake. His season 1 look was one of the things that drew me into the show. You do say, that as he is a kid, it would make more sense for him to be a smaller dragon, then grow into a big dragon with huge muscles and stuff, but right before that you say, that you can only do limited seasons and can not show his growing, so you may as well keep him big, and considering its a fantasy world of Magic, where things don't have to be physically accurate, I believe you may be placing uneccesary design restrictions on the character. Im sure people who did not like season 1 will not see the add then say "WOW they've changed Jake from a big Dragon into a skinny wierd looking dragon. It doesn't matter that he looked better before, now it makes more sense to the physical world. Im going to watch season 2 now" But anyway, I don't mind the rest of the changes, and the story for season 2 sounds awesome, I can't wait I hope it comes to free to air here in Australia like season 1 did.
