Don’t worry; this fan-fic will be much better than Sea of Peril. XP So don’t yell at me. I may change SoP into a little fan-fic, but that’s it.
Prologue: Legend of the Seven
From legends of Twilight, there has been a person who was able to achieve immortality by themselves, until this person decided to create a group of her own Twili renegades. This person was able to make three on this person’s own until this person decided to rely on other people in the human world making them. These renegades are made when a person tries to bring a person back to life, but it always ends like a homunculus, so these enemies are sometimes referred to as homunculi.
“Gluttony, I’m betting the master will send us to get Greed soon.” a woman said with long, black hair compared to a black outfit. She had a distinguishing tattoo mark right below her neck.
“Lust, how are you so sure?” Gluttony asked the woman, having a very childish voice. He also wore a dark black outfit, but his eyes had no pupils, he was very fat, and he also had the same tattoo marking on his tongue.
“Because master saw him.” a boy said with long, stringed hair and a black outfit, one on top and one on the bottom like a somewhat skirt. His tattoo was on his left thigh.
“Envy, you sure are good as explaining before others.” Lust said to Envy, getting up from leaning against the wall and walking toward the door, Gluttony walking slowly behind her until they were both gone.

Back at Shade’s house, Megan (Shade’s sister) had gotten a job as a weather lady and at the house, annoyed of people insulting her stupidity while she did the forecasts.
“Well, Megan, you don’t look like you’re very smart anyway… Can you even tell a cumulus cloud from any other ones?” Shade asked Megan after watching one of her shows.
“Do you see my teleprompter near me?” Megan asked, scoffing and turning away from annoyance. Sighing, Shade took a folder and opened it up, looking at it closely.
“Did you really refer Hurricane Robert as ‘Bobby’?” he asked, looking up at her with a squint at her from oddness.
“Well… Robert sounded too serious.” Megan replied.
“It WAS serious; it wiped out half of Miami!”
“Oh! Well excuse me for trying to spread a little sunshine!” finally retorted Megan, grabbing her purse and walking off in a huff. Shade groaned and tossed the folder on the other side of the couch once he heard the doorbell ring.
“Coming,” murmured Shade as he walked to the door and answered to see Florence with Dougal on a leash, “Oh, hi Florence, Dougal.” he greeted, letting them in.
“Did you see on the Magical News about how they decided to give them their own government and military?” Florence asked Dougal as she sat on the couch, Dougal going next to her feet.
“I did, it’s pretty amazing.” Shade said and closed the door, sitting next to Florence and laughing a little, “Hey, I told Kabuto we’d all be dropping by his library and we’d all go out to lunch. Even Jake's summer camp friend, Lyla, is coming.”
“Oh, right, I almost forgot! When are we going to leave then?” asked Florence.
“About an hour, so let’s just watch my favorite weather person… Megan Chaos.” Shade said slowly, turning the TV on with his remote.

Wow, Kevin left a good response. Thank you, Kevin. XD
Chapter 1: Meeting Dante
Inside Kabuto’s library, but up on the second floor, everyone was eating on a large, brown tab in a circle. The people at the little ‘picnic’ were Kabuto, Shade, Florence, Elaine (introduced in SoP), Spud, Trixie, Jake, and Lyla. Lyla was wearing a pink dress with white frilly things on it, like a maid’s outfit, only pink on the black bits. Her hair was black and somewhat like a bowl cut haircut, only to her shoulders (not long enough to hang on her shoulders), a mahogany red headband, and lacy shoes.
“Lyla, Elaine, you don’t really have to wear those dresses all the time.” Kabuto muttered, biting into a large, soft cookie with chocolate chips on it.
“Well I have to for Dante.” Lyla just said, letting a tiny smile after taking a little spoonful of soup.
“I always wear this…” slowly muttered Elaine as she glared at Kabuto with frustration. He just shrugged and continued eating. Shade turned to Jake and began asking a question,
“So, how did you and Lyla meet?” he asked, eating some salt and vinegar crisps. Jake laughed a little while eating his sandwich, making him spew a few crumbs out onto the table.
“While we were at the same summer camp, we met at the lake while swimming. After that, we just hung out and stuff,” Jake noted, “And she found out I was a dragon when I burped out some fire, but she’s a dragon too.” he added with a little laugh once he swallowed his food.
“Yes, that’s pretty much true,” Lyla chuckled and nodded, setting down her empty bowl and standing up to get all the food stuffs off her dress, “but I obviously dress differently.”
“Oh yeah, you never told me how you got involved with being Dante’s apprentice.” Jake muttered in thought, finishing his sandwich slice and taking another.
“After camp, I was told about Dante from my mom’s friend. She said she was old, but very, very experienced.” Lyla began to explain. Shade stopped eating and listened closer to the conversation, “So I went up to her mansion hilltop and she agreed to mentor me.”
“You’re being trained by THAT Dante?” called out Shade in shock.
“You know her?” Lyla asked as everyone’s attention went down toward Shade.
“Well, yeah! She taught my Dragon Master, Bartholomew (it was something else before but I changed it). I think I met her once…” muttered the icy dragon.
“I heard about that. Think we should go up to her hilltop and I’ll introduce you to her?” asked Lyla in suggestion. Some people nodded, but those who didn’t had good reason.
“Spud and I have to work on… something… not here.” Trixie said slowly as she grinned a little as Spud groaned a little.
“And Kabuto would go and help me find a good book at Magus Bazaar.” added the pink-haired girl with a standing up and throwing her trash away. Once everyone had finished eating and got Kabuto’s upstairs back in order, they had all gone their own ways for the time being.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
A while of going past through a thick forest, Lyla, Shade, Florence, and Jake were all in their human forms in front of Dante’s giant manor at the hilltop. It was still sunny out at the area, the time generally being past noon, but the sun hadn’t set much farther from when they left Kabuto’s library.
“Here we are.” murmured the dress-wearing girl as she pulled the large ring-knocker on the door and an old lady answered. She wore a deep green skirt with a yellow collared shirt and a pink thing, like a blanket, around some of her yellow shirt. Her hair was a green-grey color with a little ‘hairnet’ thing on the back with two strings on the end of it.
“Hello, Lyla.” Dante said with a smile and moved out of the way to let everyone into her mansion.
“Wow. This place is huge.” muttered Jake with a big grin on his face as he looked around the main entrance hallway and looked around at the large estate. Dante changed her view toward Shade and smiled again.
“You’re the grandson of Van Hohenheim, aren’t you?” the old lady asked with a little gawking tone without noticing. Shade scowled and looked down with a few nods of his head.
“Hmm, you never told me about your grandpa, Shade.” Florence realized.
“Maybe because I don’t want to talk about him…” he added angrily, “Considering he’s the cause for why I was almost killed during the war…” Shade walked down to the hall and exited the back way to get some fresh air.
(The war is the one from PttSoW, if you couldn’t tell.)
“The war… I heard about that. Luckily, my family and I were able to get in with the refugees and not forced in the slave mines.” Lyla said, looking down at a dust spot on the floor and dusted it off with a broom that was laid up against the wall.
“So what are your relations to Shade’s grandfather?” asked Jake to Dante.
“We’re both very skilled people who helped the Magical Community because we had rare powers instead of being magical beings.” explained Dante as she led everyone into kitchen and took a sip of tea she had already out. Lyla also took a cup and a little sip before setting it down.
Outside, Shade had his hands wrapped around each other and was pacing back and forth on the dirt road until he heard a rustling in the trees.
“Who’s there?” Shade challenged, getting in a battle pose to the tree. The person in the tree let out a few chuckles.
“Just a soon-to-be enemy of yours.” he said, talking onto a branch and then jumped down to be in front of Shade. He had sunglasses on, a vest with a puffy white ball of fluff on the top, and black pants. Shade groaned a little as he turned into his dragon form and got ready to battle.
“Shade’s been outside a while…” Florence muttered, watching Lyla sorting out dishes. They were all in the kitchen and weren’t able to hear Shade fighting with the person that was outside.
“Unless it actually takes him this long to clear his head.” added Jake as he took a sip of his soda can. Back outside, Shade was still fighting against the unnamed homunculus.
“Who are you?” Shade repeated before getting smacked into a tree and back into his human form. He was grabbed by his collar from the mysterious person and Shade slowly opened his eyes.
“It’s Greed.” he answered, throwing Shade against the wall of the manor. Florence and Jake had sped outside after hearing this, but Greed had already gone. He was actually on a tree branch, looking at Flo, Jake, and Shade. Greed turned to the window near him and saw Dante and Lyla standing there, just watching him. After giving an angry look, he vanished off.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Kabuto and Elaine were wandering through Magus Bazaar and saw a giant building near the middle.
“This must be the central of the new militia for the Magical Community.” Kabuto murmured, walking closer.
“You didn’t take me to get a book, did you?” answered Elaine with a tricky tone, her arms crossed, and her eyebrows crooked up. His hands clenched into fists as he didn’t answer and slowly entered the building up to the main desk. Elaine sighed, but followed him in.
“I would like a sign-up sheet.” Kabuto said to the front desk person, who handed him a form. Elaine just watched Kabuto as he filled out the form and went into another room. She just waked up to the front desk slowly.
“Tell me about the places you have soldiers at now…” Elaine asked the front desk person and took the paper handed to her. She sped out of the building while looking at the paper…
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“Stop it, Gluttony.” complained Lust as she crossed her arms and got up from the chair she was sitting in and looked out the window. Outside was a view of Magus Bazaar at night.
“But I’m hungry…” Gluttony whined and walked around in a circle. The door was being banged on and Lust answered, an old man slowly just walking in.
“Envy?” Lust asked with a smile. The old man laughed and shape-shifted into Lust’s form.
“No, I’m you,” he said until he went back into Envy, “And Gluttony, I could hear your whining from the bottom floor. You’ll get to eat soon enough; people are bound to get in a little in our plan as we just kill them.”
“Yay! I hope I get to eat soon.” muttered the childish homunculus, sitting in the corner and muttered happily in thought of what, or who, he was going to eat.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Sorry it’s so short, the plot of this chapter was expected to be short, and I needed to keep the Shade/Greed battle short because they would have come out either way.

Shadey holds grudgeys on his grampy Van Hohenheim. Hahaaaa.. oh.. I guess. XP The last paragraph of that chapter made it look like some bizarre person with ADD talking to himself or something. Then again, what do I know about FMA? XD Hah, I wish there was more action, though. Even if you did say it was supposed to be kept short. After all, stuffys with all the fighting makes it all better since you specially good in itttt. Well, okay..what should I say?! Okayy, HI DANTE. *wave* And Elaine isn't as freaky girl as I thought, but she no important anyway. Unless... *smacked with a frying pan* Okay, I'm like on commenter's block or something. Ughh stupidd. You're telling me to rush anyway, so yeah. NICE CHAPTER, WISH IT WAS LONGER, I DO NOT HAVE ADD, AND GET SOME SLEEP, CRANKY PANTS. XP

Sorry mine won't be as long as Raffikins'. xD
Firstly, the imagery on the cookie made me get some food. I had forgotten that I hadn't eaten dinner. The imagery on Jake eating the sandwich was hilarious too.
The Shade/Greed battle was nice, even though it was short. Longer would've been sweet, but that's obviously your decision.
Like I said, I'd keep this short, because I don't have much else to say. I did enjoy it, though. It didn't, like, reach out and grab me by the collar (that I don't have) like other stories have, but this story still seems to have a while to go, so we'll have time for that later, I'm sure. Update soon!

I think I’ll make this chapter an actiony one. Cause I feel like it and don’t get yelled at because the first one was boring. XD
Chapter 2: Created with Avarice
Once Shade had regained his abilities, he had his dragon master come to the mansion for a conversation about Greed.
“I need to know about the homunculi that are attacking me; Dante told us about them.” Shade began explaining to Bartholomew. They were having a one-on-one conversation outside near the forest border.
“You mean another set of them were created!?” demanded his teacher after gasping. Shade jumped back in shock from Bartholomew’s voice, grabbing his shoulder blades.
“What do you mean another set…?” asked Shade slowly, his face getting stern. Bartholomew let out a long sigh and then put his hands down from Shade’s shoulders and looked down.
“If Dante told you about them earlier, you know that these creatures don’t have souls, so they can’t be killed, and they are made when someone tries to bring back the dead. Once they try and the creation fails, it is sent back to the Twilight Realm, but those foolish enough to do it didn’t know that it actually makes the homunculi stronger.” Bartholomew explained, with his fists clenched.
“You know someone who’s tried this?” wondered the dragon slowly in question. Bartholomew looked up with his eyes still closed.
“Ask your uncle… and your father.” he answered, opening his eyes. Shade’s pupils shrunk in shock until they took to anger. He spun around and started running until he jumped and shot into dragon mode, flying away. Florence, Jake, and Lyla walked out after Shade had flown off, “So you were listening in?”
“Uhhh… maybe.” Jake muttered with a little grin on his face and scratching the back of his head.
“Bartholomew, do you know the reason Shade hates his grandfather? He was after all the one who brought Shade’s side of the family into this world.” questioned Florence to the man, who just nodded.
“It’s true he brought them into this world, but after Hohenheim and Shade’s grandmother had two children, he left to do what I think was research. He was one of the first dragons with power other than fire and said he left with the others. Hohenheim had left a few years before Shade’s father and uncle’s mother died of an illness, and that’s all I know.”
“But… that must mean that since they tried to bring someone back, one of the homunculi must be…” muttered Jake slowly, his eyes widened.
“Shade’s grandmother…” Lyla finished, looking down.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Kabuto let out a yawn at his station. He was wearing an official Magical military outfit that was blue, “The only work they’ve given me so far is paperwork.” Kabuto sighed, putting his face desk.
“You have a message, sir.” a person said, walking up to Kabuto and handing him a phone with the large thing to him and saluted, walking away. After saluting back, Kabuto put the phone to his head.
“Hello?” he asked.
“Kabuto, its Spud. Have you seen Elaine at all?” Spud asked through the phone, his usual dazed voice making Kabuto even more tired.
“She came with me to get me assigned into the military and after I had gotten signed up, I went back to the lobby and she was gone.” explained the glasses-wearing person, pushing his glasses in place.
“That’s odd… well, nevertheless, we’ll keep and eye out for her, even if she’s still at Magus Bazaar.” Spud told Kabuto and hung up. Kabuto hung up and took the phone back up to the desk where he had had gotten the phone and went back to his desk and sighed once more.
“Time to just laze about again until I actually get a job.” he groaned, putting his arms on his desk with his head on top.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Shade opened the door to his house and quickly looked around, seeing only Megan was there.
“What’s wrong, Shade?” she asked.
“Where’s Dad?” Shade asked in return, not answering her question.
“He’s out with Mum; he should be back any minute now.” Megan answered, putting her high-heels on and walking out of the house. Shade groaned and waited until his parents had gotten home.
“Can I speak to Dad alone, real quick?” Shade asked. His mum nodded and walked into the kitchen with the groceries as Shade grabbed his father’s arm outside and closed the door, “Who did you try to resurrect?” he demanded.
“So you’ve finally found out?” he muttered, staring at the ground in anger, “My brother and I… we tried to get back our mum, your grandmother.” Shade’s eyes widened.
“Why?” he asked.
“After dad left us, we had to watch her die years later. We both studied hard and tried to bring her back, but it backfired…” Shade’s dad told him, “And that’s all we know that happened.”
“Did anyone else try this that you know of?” Shade asked his dad and he just nodded.
“A man from the Huntsclan who tried to bring back his lover, but since the Huntsclan is gone, you can’t interrogate this person. Now, while I don’t enjoy this conversation, your mum is making casserole.” muttered the elder, walking up the steps into his house.
“Eww, I am NOT eating here.” groaned Shade, running into his house’s alley and turning into his dragon form and starting to fly back to Dante’s manor. As Shade changed locations, the time went to night.
“Okay, Lyla, we searched the woods for about an hour now, but no homunculi.” Jake told her.
“Maybe we can ALL search the forest once Shade gets back.” suggested Florence as Lyla just nodded and went inside the manor, probably to tell Dante they’d be out again. Shade landed just at that moment.
“So you were looking for them?” he asked, Jake and Florence replying with a nod, “Okay, Lyla, let’s go out now.” Shade said when she left the mansion and split up in different groups, entering the forest.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Greed was inside a log cabin in the forest, cursing under his breath, “What am I gonna do now?” he muttered, “Considering I’m the only homunculus rebelling against the others.”
“How long did you think you could last?” a female voice said, “It’s been a thrill, but time’s up.” she finished, walking out of the shadow of a doorway. It was the Homunculi Lust and Gluttony, Gluttony with his typical, childish smile.
“And who might you be?” asked the rebellious homunculi.
“From what I’ve been told, you’ve already met Gluttony,” Lust muttered, looking at her fat ally, who looked at her in return, his smile turning into the silly little content look, and then back at Greed with a smile when Lust looked back at him, “As for me, well can’t you tell? I’m the new Lust.”
“You don’t say?” murmured Greed in return.
“I’m not usually the one to be quick about things, but you have two options, Greed: you can come with us and be sealed again, or you can die, right here.” offered Lust with a sly tone.
“Who’s going to pull that one off? Don’t tell me that it’s you.” he taunted in return, grinning.
“Here’s a story: a lowly homunculus actually tries to defy the person that pulls the strings and is locked in a cell for 140 years. When he escapes, that person gets angry and gives us everything we need to end it.” Lust explained to Greed as his expression turned to pure anger.
“End it, end it!” chanted Gluttony while swinging his arms in and out of the center of his body like an ‘X’. Greed glared at them both and turned his hands into his shield form and hit the wooden flooring and tossed the wood that flew up in return to distract the homunculi as he attacked a wall and started running off.
Meanwhile, Shade saw many birds flying from the trees where Greed and the other homunculi were, “That’s near Dante’s house…” he muttered, walking form his location closer to where he started leaving to search for the homunculi.
Greed found himself in front of the manor of Dante, “Well this is interesting, I’m right back at the place I came… maybe I’ll beg that old hag for my life...” Greed muttered, “Or maybe not.” he finished, his expression turning normal.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
The front door was kicked open by Greed as he walked in, putting his thumbs in his pockets, and after walking a little, Lyla walked out from a corner, implying she came back to Dante’s mansion early.
“Where’s the old lady?” Greed simply asked Dante’s apprentice.
“The reason you came here is simple, because these are the grounds that witnessed your creation.” answered Lyla, turning to the door behind her.
“Smart girl…” he groaned in turn as Lyla led Greed past the door Lyla was facing. After a little walking in the room, Greed started to perspire, held his chest, and groaned quietly. Lyla led Greed into the middle of the room until she walked up one of the staircases that were going up. As Lyla left, another shadowed figure appeared, glaring down at Greed from where Lyla left the room.
“Those are…” Greed muttered after a gasp, looking at a skeleton set out on a table.
“Your bones, yes.” the shadowed figure answered, making Greed look up at the person up there.
“Hey, where the hell did you get those? And what did Dante tell you?” Greed asked the figure, thinking it was still Lyla. Playing along, the figure decided to let the blame go to who Greed thought that person was.
“Dante is over there.” the voice said, pointing their shadowed figure to where Dante’s body was. It was ripped right in half and had blood dripping from it.
“What the hell is going on?” Greed asked no-one-in-particular, staring at the body. This moment of pausing let the shadowed figure activate the trap under Greed, making it shine all blue, “Who are you, how could you know how to make this trap!? There’s no way, no one is this powerful!” The figure just wore a sly smile and chuckled evilly.
“What is that!?” Shade called out seeing the light coming from Dante’s mansion, running toward the house.
Greed continued to groan while holding his stomach with both hands and suddenly started throwing up green stones that dissolved into the trap on the floor, “Th-That’s my life!” Greed groaned, throwing up more stones until he was obviously out of stones and barely made his way out of the trap. Once Greed regained his ability to move better, he got up from his knees and looked for the shadowed figure, who had somehow vanished. Shade suddenly appeared from the door Greed was led to and walked into the large room.
“What the--?” Shade muttered, eye-balling the body of Dante, “Explain this, Greed, what happened here?” Greed chuckled a little and put his sunglasses back on.
“Beats me,” he said with his signature shrugging of his shoulders, “I was going to ask you that, kid.”
“You did this to her, didn’t you?” demanded the dragon. Greed looked at him with his peripheral vision until he turned to stare down Shade through his glasses, “Are you going to answer me?”
“Go ahead, blame me if you want, I really don’t care,” Greed decided to answer, “but you really want a rematch… don’t you?” he taunted, grinning. Without answering, Shade just glared at him. Greed slowly took off his vest as his shield form began to succumb over his whole body. Shade turned his hands into their dragon form to his wrists (where his shirt stops) and got ready to battle.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Greed was the first to attack Shade and started trying to punch him with his fist covered in the shield, but Shade’s scaly hands were able to block them. He tried to attack with a slash, but it did absolutely nothing.
“You should know that I don’t bruise easily.” Greed told Shade, grabbing his right hand and tossed him into the air before Greed punched him across the room.
“Ow…” Shade groaned slowly, rubbing his head after making his right hand human and then back to dragon.
“Homunculi don’t have souls, so we don’t die, you need to remember that.” replied the homunculus as he watched Shade get up and charge at Greed, trying to punch him, but Shade grabbed him by his shirt collar. In return, he put his right dragon hand on the arm holding him, making the spot on his arm covered in ice and Shade smashed the spot with his left hand, shattering the shield on that spot.
“Heh…” murmured Shade before he was tossed to the floor by Greed when he looked at the spot and then turned it back into the shield.
“How the hell did you do that? What have you done with my shield!?” barked Greed angrily.
“I learned about your little shield, and how temperature keeps it intact. The warmth of your body attaches it to your body, but when I drastically change it to ice temperature, I can easily shatter it off.” the icy dragon told Greed with a challenging smirk rising on his face.
“Well let’s see the best you can use of it!” Greed yelled, charging at Shade once more. He ducked and froze Greed’s thigh and punched it, “GACK!” he yelled, holding his side. Shade laughed and watched the shield covering his flesh once more.
“I’ll just keep killing you until you wish you were dead, starting now!” called out Shade as he created an icicle into his right hand, holding onto it tight.
“I won’t even give you one chance.” Greed said, waiting for Shade to attack him, and he went to Greed and jumped, kicking Greed in the face and jumping off it onto his feet. Greed tried to punch him, but Shade used an uppercut on him. His face looked away and Shade put ice on Greed’s chest.
“Almost there…” Shade muttered, moving to avoid a slash from Greed and the put both hands on the glacier he held onto and let go when it was at Greed’s chest, sending it straight through the icy part, shattering through the ice, shield, and his flesh.
“… That was pretty good kid…” murmured the evil person slowly, turning into his original form, wobbling about and then falling to his knees.
“But I thought…” began Shade, talking about how homunculi don’t die.
“We homunculi… we are weakened when we are near the person who someone tried to resurrect…” Greed told Shade.
“But… why are you telling me this?” he asked.
“So… so you can defeat them…” Greed finally mustered, closing his eyes and falling down on his back, slowly dissolving into the trap that wasn’t glowing.
“Wait… wait a minute! I can’t kill you! I can’t kill anyone! Greed? Greed!?” Shade screamed, holding his forehead with his hands in normal form, so shocked he actually killed Greed.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Okay… this is much better than chapter one. And longer. XP

Thanks all, I worked hard on that past chapter. (; Either way, you get to know where Elaine goes and why now. COMMENSE CHAPTER BEGIN.
Chapter 3: The Location
Shade, Jake, Florence, and Bartholomew were standing outside of Dante’s mansion in front of the grave made for Dante and the grave made for Greed.
“What did she tell you?” Bartholomew asked his pupil.
“Nothing… it was over before I got there.” replied Shade. They were all standing on the dirt road away from the hilltop where the manor was.
“And Lyla?” questioned Jake slowly.
“She wasn’t in there… I don’t know where she is.” Shade answered, making Jake scowl at the dirt below him, “Now, master, we need to go and find out the reason why this homunculi are about.”
“We’ll meet again.” answered Shade’s dragon master. Shade just nodded and they started walking off down the dirt path.
”They don’t need to know about my mistake…” thought Bartholomew, turning the opposite way and walking slowly away with his hands behind his back.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Back at New York, The three of them met up with Spud and Trixie and explained the story.
“So Lyla’s just gone?” pondered Trixie, Florence just nodding sadly. Spud looked up at them,
“Well, I thought you should know… Kabuto’s gone and joined the magical military… and Elaine has gone up and left.” Spud explained.
“Why did he join!?” Shade demanded.
“I think he wanted answers… as we do. When this army thing popped out of nowhere, we all knew that something strange must be happening…” cut in Trixie.
“And what about Elaine?” Florence asked.
“She went with Kabuto to the Magus Bazaar, but it’s clear she didn’t join the militia. You could probably get answers from Kabuto; he works with the investigative department.” Spud added in conclusion. The three of them nodded as Shade and Jake turned into their dragon forms, Shade grabbing hold of Florence.
Not too long after, they were at the giant building.
“How long did it take to make this thing?” wondered Florence, staring at it. Shade and Jake just shrugged and walked through the clear door that opened on its own.
“Yes, we’re looking for a Kabuto Yakushi.” Shade simply asked the front desk lady as they entered the building. She called him on her phone and he came by to see them.
“Hey, guys. Finally decided to visit me?” he gawked with a grin.
“So with your little ‘research’, you must have found out something about this place.” Jake said to Kabuto as they were now outside.
”Right now, the only news I know about is this one war we seem to be having with a desert town in Africa across seas. Apparently, they started the battling, but I believe differently.” he explained, pushing his glasses in place.
“And what about Elaine?” added Shade in question. Kabuto just shrugged slowly.
“No idea about her; she just up and left as I went to get registered. But I do want you to check out this city in the desert because something is being made there. I’ve been told it’s the work of the homunculi.” Kabuto finished, “But that’s not all... we also have found out Adlez may be behind the scenes of this little war, so you might want to watch out for him as well.”
“What is the name of this place?” Florence decided to ask, the thought of Adlez piping up her tone.
“Riore. It’s generally in the middle of Africa, and if you’re going in, you’d better go inside in your human forms, Shade and Jake.” Kabuto told them and then saluted to them. The three of them nervously chuckled and just waved as Kabuto laughed at them and walked back in to the large building.
“Should we go to Riore now?” Jake asked his two companions.
“I think so, the more time we spend putting it off, the less we know about the homunculi and their plans.” Florence explained as Shade nodded in agreement. Shade jumped into the air and turned into his dragon form and laid down, letting Florence on his back. Jake just dragoned up and started flying first while Shade was trailing behind with Florence on his back.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“I’m just glad there isn’t a sandstorm or something.” muttered Jake as he pulled his shoe out of a dune and got the sand out of it before putting it back on his left foot. Shade had his dragon wings out for that moment so he wouldn’t have to touch the scorching hot sand.
“I think I see it up ahead. There are no military people there.” Florence pointed out. Shade made his dragon wings vanished as they came closer towards the town. The sun was generally set and the wind blew, causing a few sand spots to blow across the desert area.
“Well it’s obvious we’re not in the military, so they’re not gonna come out and kill us.” Shade answered as they got into the area and went to where many people were gathering, watching a group of people coming out in deep Arabian clothing.
“Ooh, a ceremony.” muttered Florence with a little laugh.
“Oh, that’s the holy mother. She may not have been born here, but she definitely came and easily helped the village from the military.” a random person told the trio.
“Do you think it could be…?” wondered Shade to Jake and Florence. The girl in the middle, the holy mother, looked up a little with a smile on her face, clarifying it was Elaine, pink hair and all, even if most of it was hidden under the while Arabian clothing. Shade slowly started walking to where she was walking with the others, but a large, broad arm stopped him.
“No farther, Shade…” the man muttered, showing it was Adlez. It was hard to recognize him after he had gotten stronger and more muscular, as well as a drastic change of clothes into ‘Arabian Nights’.
“Adlez…” Florence whispered as she and Jake ran up. They all were staring at each other until the crowd all moved away with the holy mother and the others, “I hear that you are working against the militia?”
“I have to, I was a Huntsclan. It would be foolish of me to just live with them…” Adlez muttered, ripping off his sleeves and getting into a battle stance.
“You want a fight? Bring it on!” challenged Shade with a grin, running to Adlez. Jake turned into his dragon form and they both tackled the large man into an alley and started fighting again. Florence was very hesitant on fighting, seeing as she had been on sides with Adlez about a year ago.
“Why do you continue to fight? Just because I’m different from you?” Adlez asked, punching a building and making some of the rubble fall on them. They both broke through and attacked with elemental attacks to Adlez, which he easily dodged and then kicked both of them.
“Adlez, what are you doing here!?” called out Florence. Adlez looked at her for a moment and the scoffed, grabbing Jake by the tail and smacking him into a wall. Shade saw his chance to hit Adlez with his ice sword, but suddenly, black lances shot through his sword and it shattered.
“Oh, just great, homunculi I assume?” Shade groaned sarcastically, seeing Lust and Gluttony now near them. Jake got up to his feet, but now in his human form.
“You can just call me Lust.”
“And I’m Gluttony.”
“Do you realize why we’ve told you our names?” Lust asked Shade.
“Yes, because now you have to kill me.” Shade answered jokingly, shooting ice darts at the lances caught in the ice and then launching some scum water to a pipeline to cut it clean off, making steam encase the two homunculi. As Shade was doing this, Adlez stared interestingly at Lust.
“Oh my, that hurt.” Lust said in her devious sarcastic tone, the burn and singe marks on them slowly fading and making their normal skin return.
“Oh yes, that burned.” added Gluttony, moving his hands a little. Adlez suddenly walked out in front of Shade and glared at Lust.
“Relax, Huntsclan person, we’re just trying to help you, or should I call you Adlez? If you can actually make that green crystal as you claim, we’re here to help you.” Lust explained to Adlez. Shade gasped, remembering the blue crystal Archie of the Aquamarines tried to use to flood the Earth.
(A/N: SoP reference. XP)
“That’s not the only crystal!?” Shade gasped, glaring at the two homunculi still. Adlez didn’t answer and pulled out a silver necklace from his belongings.
“Does this locket mean anything to you? You gave it to my brother.” Adlez muttered, holding out the necklace.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You know more than you think!” Adlez barked, shaking the locket once up, making Lust gasp a little, suddenly having memories of many different things.
“What is it, Lust, what’s wrong?” Gluttony asked sympathetically. Lust slowly fell over as the other homunculus grabbed her, “I hate you… I hate you for hurting my Lust…” Gluttony whispered at Adlez, jumping to a wall and eating around it in a circle and then escaping.
“What do you know about that homunculus?” Shade asked Adlez.
“That is none of your concern.” answered the Huntsking.
“Wait!” a familiar voice called out. Shade, Jake, and Florence turned around to see Elaine and Lyla, but Lyla was wearing a mahogany dress that doesn’t go all the way down to her feet and an added blue necklace.
“Elaine?” Shade wondered.
“Lyla!?” Jake added right after.
“Perhaps you should tell them about how you know that strange homunculus woman, Adlez!” Lyla called out.
“Please… come with us everyone…” Elaine added, turning and walking with Lyla. The four people all looked at each other and then followed Elaine and Lyla.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
There you have it, chapter 3! But it’s just a filler and a slight cliffhanger, so don’t yell at me for OMG NO ACTION, because then I do bad at writing the rest of the fan-fic.

Hmm, well, now that I'm less drowsy and can actually think better, let's cut to the chase so you can get some sleep. Alright, well, that was a pretty interesting chapter. It's like I'm beginning to see the "rising action" and all that. English, whatcha gonna do about it? At least now we know where Elaine went and... gone to. And Lyla, I guess. There were some unexpected events with the whole Adlez thing and the slight action. Since when is there ever not in your chapters? Hah, you love fighting stuff too much. Hmm, I do wonder what Bartholomew could actually be saying when he said something about not needing to know his mistake. Well, we'll obviously find out later. And that Gluttony thing was all weird, okay? Just awkward... I can't even picture it. I'm confused. Then again, I always get mixed up everytime I first read a story. Until I reread it a billion times. Hmm, maybe I should do that. Well, I'm starting to get pointless so blahhh. If this still is, then tough cookie. BYEEEE.
