This fanfic thing looks fun, I think I'll have a go. The Dragons PowerChapter 1: Sam BranchIt was 12:30 on a sunny Thursday, and Sam Branch was sitting looking out onto the large, green field...from behind the double-glazed window of the maths classroom. He was bored and would have given anything to be out there right now. He also became aware that Mr. Mason, the maths teacher, was shouting. "Someones got the answer wrong again." Sam thought absent mindfully. "SAM!!". He jerked round quickly to see Mr. Mason staring at him. "Ahh...welcome back from Planet Sam, Mr. Branch. What's it like there?" "A darn site better than here!" Sam muttered under his breath. "What was that?!?" Mr. Mason snapped. Sam picked up his pen again, sighed "Nothing Sir" and turned his attention back to the board where a lot of complicated sums had appeared. Looking at the clock, he saw there were only 10 minutes left. He also knew that because he had looked, those 10 minutes would seem like an hour, and on top of this, he had got library duty at break. The break lasted 30 minutes, and that meant 10 minutes work and 20 of inevitable boredom, sitting behind a desk and scanning the bar codes on peoples books. With a 'Why me?' look at the ceiling, he turned the page and began to scribble notes on how to solve algebra. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats all I can type for now. Will update tomorrow .

Thanks, here's some more:
Chapter 2: Level B2, Corridor A
"So what do we have to do again?" Jake asked his grandpa as they walked through the busy lobby of Grand Central Station. Laoshi, his face giving nothing away, replied "The World Dragon Council has instructed us to escort a dragon student over here. It is their wish also that I train him". They walked down the stairs and arrived at the lift Jake knew to be an enchanted elevator, and Fu took up the narrative. "Ya see kid, this dragon is from England, and his master, Ray, was friends with gramps here". Jake turned to his "So what up Fu, how come the council wants my gramps to train him now, why can't his grandfather do it?" Fu looked up at Laoshi, who nodded slightly. "Well...ya see kid..." stammered Fu "...his gramps was killed a week ago today. His house was the target of one of the Dark Dragons attacks. It was only Ray and the kid at home at the time. They both fought him, but Ray was buried under rubble, and they couldn't get him out in time. But the kid survived, thats why his family decided to emigrate over to here". "So why do you need me along?" Jake asked, as Laoshi pushed the lift button sequence to summon the elevator. "He may not trust me". The lift arrived and the stepped in. "Welcome to enchanted ele..." the operator was saying, but Jake was already talking to Fu again. "So whats he like, do you think we'll get on well? he asked, gripping tightly onto the handrail. "Even I can't tell you that kid. You're both similar enough, only you're red and he's silver, but you both shoot fire.". Almost before he had finished, a voice called "Going down!". Jake gripped onto the handrail as they plummeted downwards. "I am never gonna get used to this!!". Two minutes later, the lift stopped the right way up, looking out into a long corridor. "Enchanted elevators welcomes you to the Oakwood School Science Block. If you have liked the new time correction service, please do not hesitate to use us again" the operator was saying. As Jake stepped out and looked around, he realized that it was indeed the same time as they had left America, only it was still daytime. A sign on the wall stated 'Science: Level B2, Corridor A: Biology Wing'. "Just how big is this place?" Fu asked and listened as he heard his voice echo along the empty corridor. Laoshi turned around "Shush! There are over 1500 pupils in this school, and what do you think they'll do if they see a talking dog?" he asked, pointing to the 'Biology Wing' part of the notice. Fu gulped and murmured "Woof". "Thats better" Laoshi said, and they started walking. In all, Jake counted that they had been up and down 5 sets of stairs and along 7 corridors before they got to the main office. At the sight of the 3 figures approaching, one of which appeared to be a dog, the receptionist became curious. "But what harm can an old man, a young boy and a fat dog do?" she thought and asked "Can I help you?" Laoshi has to quickly and silently activate his dragon tail to even get the top of his head over the counter. Jake stood behind him to hide the tail from sight. "Yes, we are looking for a student called Sam Branch, we need to speak with him, it's urgent!" The lady peered at them over the top of her glasses, decided that they couldn't cause any trouble, and tapped on the keyboard of a computer. "He is currently in Mathis in F25" she said, then quickly corrected herself "Oh wait, he's on library duty at break, and that means he'll have left maths 5 minutes early to set up". "How long until break?" Laoshi asked. The lady looked at a clock and replied "10 minutes", handing them 2 visitor badges. "Thank you" Laoshi said and started to walk away when she said sternly "No dogs". After leaving Fu in the office, Laoshi and Jake set off towards the library.

Chapter 3: The New Master
Sam had just arrived and sat down in the library. He was 5 minutes early. That was the only advantage to doing this, you got to leave early, and he had just managed to escape a lecture in maths about how to use algebra in everyday life. No-one was in the library at the moment, except him, and he was already bored and half asleep, so it is not to be wondered at that at the sight of Jake Long, the American Dragon and his master Laoshi walking in, he almost fell off the chair. Sam had seen them at the last summit at the Isle Of Draco. They were walking towards him. He decided to give them the benefit of the doubt "Yes, can I help you?" he said, and shuddered slightly as he thought how much he sounded like the receptionist. "We need to talk with you about your family emigrating to America" Laoshi was saying. That suprised Sam, as the move had been kept a secret by the council for security reasons. He hadn't thought that people from the other side of the world would have known it. "Yes?" he asked expectantly. It was true that after their house had been attacked by the Dark Dragon, his parents had decided that it would be safer to emigrate. His parents had already organised a new house, and his dad had travelled out a few weeks ago to sort out the new furniture. At this point, Jake spoke up "You'll be training with me, gramps is your new master!". But as jake said the last two words, he noticed that Sam's expression had changed, and had now become slightly icy. Jake could see that he had been through a lot. "And your point to all this is......? I doubt you've travelled halfway accross the world to tell me that." Jake shifted, a little uncomfortable. This guy may have looked docile enough, but it looked as though that at a moments notice, he could easily erupt. "Let me take a shot in the dark. You're my new master, and you've come here to try and convince me to come with you right now back to America. Am I right?" Sam asked, looking at them through eyes that would easily search out the truth if they lied. "Yes", replied Laoshi in his customary matter-of-fact way. Sam looked at them both. They were standing there looking serious. It seemed impossible to object. They wouldn't have taken the trouble to be here if it wasn't important. "I must be out of my mind!" Sam sighed, as he picked up his bag and wrote a small note excusing himself from duty. He followed Jake and Laoshi along the corridoor, and then asked "How come you know about that anyway? The dragon council were protecting that information!". Both Jake and Laoshi looked at each other, but neither said a word. Jake just smiled to himself as he remembered how Fu had managed to get a copy of it from the record office. They arrived back at the office to hand back the visitor badges and collect Fu. While Laoshi was talking to the receptionist, Fu introduced himself. "Hey kid, how're ya doing? My name's Fu". Sam looked at him and said "Fu......Fu......where have I heard that before? Oh yes, the last summit, you tipped chocolate sauce over that austrailian kid, Fred Nerk!". Jake coughed at that, and Sam guessed that he had only just managed to stifle a burst of laughter. As they walked out, sam said "Well, you've convinced me, but my parents? That may be a bit of a problem.....".

Chapter 3 Continued: The New Master
The next hour went very fast, for Sam at least. They arrived back at his house thoroughly drenched from head to foot. Jake couldn't see how Sam appeared so accustomed to it, until he had said that this was the usual English weather. His parents had given a suprised greeting to the three new guests. Both Sam's parents knew about the magical world, and were not suprised to see a talking dog. In the midst of this, Sam had gone upstairs. He went into his room, changed and began to pack his bag. He didn't pack anything big, as that would be sent out later. Last of all, he picked up a small silver frame. It showed two people in it, one of which was him. The other was a girl named Jenny. She was American, and was also a dragon too. Her family had chose the same resort as his, and the two of them had hit it off straight away. Two days after they met, he had asked her out on a date, only to be interupted by the Huntsclan. He put the frame on top and zipped the bag up. He had been hoping to get away from the Huntsclan, but Jake had said earlier on that there was a Huntsclan in America too. He went to get his jacket and at the same time, scooped up his mobile phone and was about to put it in his pocket when he noticed that there was a message on there from Jenny. He smiled, as he remembered that this was the fifth he had goth this week. He pressed a button and read it. "Can't wait to see you next week! Love Jen XX" He grinned and typed a reply. "Be there before you know it. Love Me XX". That was what he had been looking forward to all week, and the prospect of seeing her even earlier now made him very happy. He heard the front door open and close. He took one last look at his room and went downstairs. His parents gave him his house key and said goobye to him. He walked out the door to find Jake, Laoshi and Fu waiting for him. "Now, we must get back to the school elevator and call the lift back" Laoshi said. Sam stopped and shook his head. "Not possible, the school lifts work by a key, there's no buttons. You can't summon the lift from anywhere around here." "Then how do we get back?" Jake asked. Sam thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers. "Follow me".

Chapter 4: A New Home."Errr....what exactly did you have in mind, kid?" Fu asked as they walked into the departure lounge of Gatwick Airport. It was very busy, even for a working day, and to jake, it felt as though they were walking around in circles. "There are no magical elevator services around here, so we'll have to travel a little differently" Sam said, looking around. A few minutes later, he walked over to a British Airways Self check in computer and touched the screen. It was now asking for the flight time, and had two scroll buttons on the side, up and down. "Make sure you're touching the computer!" Sam warned, as he began to tap the scroll buttons in sequence: up, down, up, up, down, down, up,up and down. Jake noticed that he seemed to have tensed himself. "Oh, and hold your breath." Sam advised. Jake looked around. Nothing had changed. Then suddenly, the airport dissappeared in a flash of blue light, and they were now in a phone box outside Grand Central Station. ------------------------------------------------------------ Sorry, I can't finish updating tonight, the rest will be added to this tomorrow. Chapter 4 Continued. Sam noticed that although it was the middle of the night, it was as though it was the rush hour. He already knew that soon, the jet lag would kick in, even though they hadn't travelled by air. They started walking, Laoshi up ahead with him and Jake behind. They arrived at the taxi rank and Laoshi, hailing a taxi, turned to Sam. "I understand you are going to the same school as Jake" he said, looking at his watch. It was nearly 1 o'clock. "Ay ya! We must hurry. You have school in a few hours, and training afterwards." he said, getting into the taxi. After they had seen him at school, and so plainly knew all about him, it didn't surprise Sam that they knew this. A few minutes later, they pulled up at Sam's house and he got out. Saying 'goodnight' to Jake, Laoshi and Fu, and 'thanks' to the driver, he went into the house to catch up on some sleep. ----------------------------------------------- I'm in school right now, so i will update asap.
