Can we please keep the animated GIF's down to a minimum? Or atleast make them no quicker than 1 second for switching frames?
A lot of people are setting 0 seconds, which when a whole thread of people have these, it really maxes out your computer and nearly freezes it.
If you have one and don't know how to do this, I will help and convert it to a less resource hog, and even host it for you.

I'm having a small experience in my computer that big size animated GIFs is causing my server speed to slow down a bit. I remember it was one of the users who have an Azula and Ty Lee sigpic, which is a very big GIF upon loading.

Well, GIFs with no speed limitation, go as fast as they can, and when everyone uses this, it slows your CPU down a lot.
(Kokusho, your sig is an example of one that has a limitation set on the attributes---it is correct)

I see, I could not remember that. Anyway, thanks for letting me know correctly. About my sigpic, well, The Joker told me to keep it to that appropriate size, so I obey it.

This is a reminder, and a clarification.
1fps max on animated GIF's. Also, signatures are only affected, as they are far larger than avatars.

1 Frame Per Second? That's absurd.
Your browsers and particularly this site should be at least able to handle 10+. I don't know what you're using to connect, but even my mp4 can handle that at a low Wifi signal.

Everytime someone uses an animated GIF faster than 1fps, they usually are doing 15fps, and the total size of the GIF itself is 700KB+.
That makes users of a slower internet connection have a harder time to connect.
Unless you feel I should limit the GIF's file SIZE, rather than framerate, then suggest a size.
I myself have fiber optic, and a large pipe, so I have no problem. However, not only are the animated GIFs distracting as it to me, I feel an unfortunate user should be allowed to visit the forum, rather than spending time download signatures.

Have there been many complaints to justify this? I'm curious to know. A standard GIF size is roughly under 300kb. Kokusho's mini signature is under a mere 281,000 bytes, yet it is running fine at 5+ FPS. 1 FPS would make it look dull and clunky. s13.photobucket.com/albums/a277/mithos510/Old%20Crap/Miscellaneous/?action=view¤t=CHEESE.gifAs large as this file is, it is not over 700kb. I don't know what GIFs you're dealing with elsewhere, but I'm pretty sure none on this site are over that outrageous, specified size. I work with that file type a lot so I should know. But this matter isn't all that important to argue over.

As it stands, since most users here don't know how to check the framerate, or the filesize, I am going to remove the limit.
