Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!
Click the link on the title! Not the best quality, but it’s the best I can find online. We played that song on the 16th at our concert and after practicing it all through December, I decided to instigate it into another Christmas one-shot! By the way, this takes place in an alternate dimension where Shade and Florence are still together, but we know Bea and Jim because I’m in the mood to use them. XD
Christmas One-Shot: A Celebration of Christmas
Connecting the lights. Suddenly, everything lit up and Shade’s house was covered with lights, inside and out. The Christmas decorations shined brightly against the lights on the Christmas tree and on the tinsel that surrounded the staircase and other counters.
“Perfect!” Florence beamed, giving Shade a kiss. His family were all gathered around the tree as well and were interested in it.
“Hey kids, you don’t want to miss the lighting of the tree at Central Park!” realized Megan, Shade’s sister.
“Oh, yeah! Can’t forget that!” Shade said, grabbing Florence’s hand, “Bye, guys!” Shade’s family all waved to the couple and got the presents that they had under the tree. Shade and Florence ran along avenues and through alleyways, getting to Central Park as quickly as they could.
“Everyone’s going to meet us there, so let’s go!” explained Florence as they ran across. Shade smiled and nodded, controlling the snow below them to propel them faster through the city streets. Luckily, nearly everyone was at Central Park, so they wouldn’t have a problem being spotted using magic, “Hurry!” Florence rushed Shade.
“I’m going as fast as I can!” replied the blue dragon with a cackle and another wave of his arm that carried the snow, and the couple, forward and forward. They were near, so they got off of the snow.
“Nearly there…” they said quite ominously. Everything was dark, but then suddenly everything lit up and everyone all gasped at the beauty of the tree.
“Oh my… beautiful…” voices from the crowd were all amazed at the lighting of the huge tree. Most left after this display, but Shade and Florence met with Jake, Rose, Bea, Jim, Raffi, and Kevin.
“We made it just in time!” beamed Shade, obviously excited about the Christmas season. They all started singing Christmas carols for fun and danced around in the snow. Eventually they all departed their separate ways with the Christmas spirit lingering throughout town.
However, that was on the first day of December. It was now the week of Christmas and things were beginning to be a little wary, as everyone was thinking what could happen after a couple years ago after the Maelstrom problem.
Jake and Rose both walked across the city streets, feeling ominous about what would happen this Christmas, but then moving on to happier things.
“Christmas is nearly here!” Jake sang. Rose laughed and sang a little, too. They were both still very joyous about things.
“And Santa will give us presents!” Rose laughed in her little song response. Jake laughed, too, and met with the other magical creatures at Central Park.
“Oh, the best day for a bohemian is Christmas…” beamed Bea as she spun in a circle, “Giving and kindness all around the world.” she breathed.
“Well not everywhere…” Jim mumbled, crossing his arms.
“And I assume that’s why we’re here?” Raffi asked Jim, who nodded.
“We’re going to go to the North Pole to make sure that Santa is safe.” Rose told them.
“Hey, fine by me.” Kevin said with a nod, “I don’t want any Scrooge ruining Christmas.” he muttered, crossing his arms along with Jim.
“None of us have really dealt with any Christmas problems, though…” muttered Florence, scratching her chin.
“Hey, you didn’t have to drive around drunken grans around a magical area…” Shade reminded Florence, thinking back on the whole ordeal that he had done just for snow.
“Awww…” Florence kissed Shade on the cheek, “In the end it was worth it, though. Those ladies took Santa’s place and we got snow!” Shade smiled and remembered that, nodded a little sheepishly.
“Let’s go now, then.” Jake decided. He, Raffi, Kevin, and Shade all turned into their dragon forms and Jake lifted Rose, Raffi lifted Bea, Kevin lifted Jim, and Shade lifted Florence. They flew through New York and were headed off to the North Pole. It was very silent, but a calming silent, not an evil silent.
“I’m glad that we have definite snow this year.” mused Florence with a smile as she looked around at the snow falling around. The North Pole was directly ahead and they all excitedly turned into their human forms and ran towards the factory.
“I can’t wait to meet Santa and tell him what I want for Christmas!” Raffi said, squealing a little.
“Raffi, didn’t you send him a letter?” Kevin wondered as they all kept running to the exciting area where Santa lived.
“Well yes… I just want to TELL him my list so that I get everything.” the dragon explained with a smart little nod.
“Nearly there…” breathed Shade.
“Santa’s Workshop is even more amazing in person!” mused Florence, twinkles in her eyes as she looked on at the famous location.
But suddenly dark monsters came out and attacked them. Being caught off guard, the team of magic was halted in their path.
“Hey, stop!” Jim insisted, lifting his hammer and swatting away at them. They, obviously didn’t listen to Jim’s commands, but even worse was the fact that more and more of the dark beasts were appearing.
“Oh my gosh, what is this?” gasped Bea as she used her wind element to try and swat away the dark beasts.
“Muahaha…” chuckled an evil voice. They all looked up to see the familiar dark spirit of Maelstrom forming the dark spirits that were attacking them.
“Maelstrom! Stop this!” Jake barked at him. He had been the only one in the group who had actually met with Maelstrom before. The evil entity laughed again and turned away from them, still forming dark spirits with the swirl of his hand.
“I will do no such thing.” the shadow told them, “I have realized that my previous tactic was not a good one…” he then lifted both arms into the air, forming an evil sphere in his hands.
“What is he doing…?” wondered Rose, looking up at Maelstrom, but then she quickly realized, “He’s going to destroy the entire place!”
“But he can’t do that!” Jim said angrily, still trying to swat away the dark spirits, only to meet even more and being unable to do anything.
“Attacking just Santa was a poor idea… if the entire place is destroyed, then there will be no Christmas not just this year, but forever!” Maelstrom said, laughing maniacally as he formed dark energy above his hands.
“These stupid things are doing a great job stalling us…” complained Raffi as she tried to use her water powers, with the help of Shade, to get rid of them. Somehow, Bea was able to get free from the dark spirits, but the bohemian was too late. Maelstrom’s attack was entirely powered up and it was launched, obliterating the factory into nothing but rubble.
“Hahaha! You are finished!” cackled Maelstrom, vanishing before their eyes and taking the dark spirits with him. They all looked on at the rubble and collapsed into the snow and felt a gloomy air about the area.
“We… couldn’t stop them…” Kevin sighed, slamming his fist into the snow angrily before flopping over in his back and sighing again.
“I probably could have stopped him, you know…” sighed Bea, thinking back on her being the only one able to escape control of Maelstrom’s dark spirits.
“Bea, you couldn’t have stopped him.” Jim tried to make Bea feel better, putting his arm around her, “None of us could.” Bea wiped a tear from her eye and gave Jim a hug.
“I can’t believe that I was able to be stopped by Maelstrom… but I was able to defeat him two years ago!” Jake didn’t understand it and also flopped over into the snow.
“Jake, there’s nothing that we can do and nothing that we’ll be able to do… like Jim said, it’s none of our faults.” Rose consoled Jake and brushed her glove-covered hand across his face. Jake let out a weak laugh.
“Your glove is cold.” he told her. Rose pulled her hand away, and then gave a half-smile, moving her hand to Jake’s hand and holding it. There was a small noise that could be heard from the rubble of Santa’s Workshop.
“Wait… what’s that?” wondered Florence as she tried to listen. She heard the sound of jingle bells ringing and then from the rubble appeared Santa Claus! The (new) Mrs. Claus, the elves, reindeer, and everyone were okay. Although, the reindeer were all injured, minus Rudolf.
“Did you really think that I’d allow something like that to happen so easily?” Santa laughed at them, “Ho ho ho!” he laughed.
“Oh, Santa! You’re okay!” Shade turned to him and smiled. Santa nodded, but then Mrs. Claus brought up an issue.
“Santa, the presents are all safe, but the explosion blew up your sleigh, which we cannot get replaced until six months.” Mrs. Claus said with a frown.
“Now would she be Mistress Claus, or…?” Jake whispered to himself, remembering Santa’s ordeal of having multiple ex-wives. Reminded him of Tiger Woods and his current situation.
“Yes, that’s true… the reindeer are all too startled to fly tonight, too…” murmured Santa, looking on, “I’m sure that they wouldn’t want the risk of that Maelstrom attacking them.”
“Hey, why don’t we go with you?” decided Bea, “Yeah! We could all hold the presents and fly with you, Santa!” the hippie was excited by this idea.
“Hey, yeah! We could be your bodyguards!” explained the gnome with a chuckle, getting his hammer up in the air and then back down into the snow. Santa laughed a little with Jim and thought about the idea.
“That would be a good idea. I’m sure Maelstrom knows that attack didn’t end Christmas this year. Come on, let’s get ready!” Santa said, rushing off to find another sleigh.
“We get to be reindeer!” cheered Rose with a small laugh. They all laughed too.
“I’m standing up, though, I’m not going to pretend to be a full-on reindeer, though.” Florence decided with a small nod. The others who weren’t going to be in their dragon forms also agreed to do the same.
“Here, this will work.” Santa was able to make a giant icicle block with the help of Shade and Kevin that would be able to carry the toys and other extra weight, “Good thing I’ve been extra careful with the cookies this year.”
“Yeah, I can tell that it’s making a difference…” lied Kevin with a small laugh, looking at Santa’s gut and then turning into his dragon form with Shade.
“Are we all ready?” called out Shade to the new reindeer. Rudolph was in the front, of course, followed by 1x2s with Shade and Florence behind Rudolph, Jake and Rose behind them, Raffi and Kevin behind them, and Bea and Jim closest to Santa.
“Yes!” everyone called out. With a little help from the elves’ magic, the group was able to take off without a hitch and cruised through the sky.
“This feels funny…” giggled Raffi a little. The trip was very easy from the beginning and they got through the eastern part of the world very quickly.
“Okay, across the Atlantic now…” Santa informed them.
“We better be careful…” Jake said, looking around. It got quiet, and even the sound of their little group got quiet. Suddenly, there was a dark blast that hit the sleigh. It messed up their course momentarily and the group could see numerous dark monsters that stalled Team Dragon from before.
“Shoot, not these again!” complained Jim, swinging his hammer every time a monster got too close to the sleigh. Luckily, because they were directly over water, Shade, Raffi, and Santa had an advantage with their water powers.
“This is too easy… take that!” Rosie lifted her arm and punched a dark monster that sent it flying down into the ocean.
“Yeah, but we’ve nearly crossed the ocean…” worried Shade as he saw land ahead. They would have to do a momentary stop to allow Santa to actually deliver the presents.
“Hey you guys, give me some ice!” requested Kevin. Shade and Santa both lifted water and froze it, allowing Kevin to use it as a sword of levitating ice sword to bash away the monsters.
“Nearly at land, everyone!” warned Florence. Shade and Raffi both lifted sufficient water to defend themselves before they got to the general east coast of America.
“Alright, I’ll be right back.” Santa told them, vanishing. He had perfected a new method where he would vanish and quickly visit every home as presents followed him. Santa is obviously a genius at science. Once the group stopped moving and waited for Santa, the dark monsters were called off and Maelstrom appeared.
“Maelstrom… we meet again.” Jake looked at the dark figure angrily and shot a fire blast at him, fueled into going faster with the help of Bea’s wind to send the fireball at Maelstrom, but this attack missed.
“Why would someone like you hate such a holiday?” wondered Bea quite sadly, but still shifted her arms back and forth to shoot breezes at Maelstrom.
“Do I really need to explain myself?” laughed Maelstrom. They asked Rudolph to keep the sleigh up in the air so that they could properly protect the sleigh.
“Alright, this will be easier…” muttered Shade, jumping up onto the icicle sleigh and lifting his arms up to control some sea water to whip across Maelstrom. However, the dark spirit used his shadow manipulation and sent him after Bea.
“That’s some trick…” whispered Bea, avoiding Shade’s attack as he apologized. Bea lifted her arm up and a gust of wind shot Shade off of the sleigh and out of Maelstrom’s grip. Shade quickly turned dragon before falling onto the ground and joined the other dragons to make one large blast on Maelstrom.
“Here, everyone attack!” Jake called out after the dragons all failed to stop Maelstrom. He laughed and shot a shadow blast at them, but they all lifted some sort of shield made out of their elemental power to change the shadow blast into a light blast and deflect off and hit Maelstrom. He had vanished again and things returned to being quiet.
“Where has he gone?” wondered Santa, having just returned from giving all of the gifts.
“He’s gone.” Jim said with a smile. They all cheered and headed off into the rising sun that officially called for Christmas morning.
“I want to think you all for your help tonight.” Santa directed this at the replacement reindeer and Rudolph at the successful event.
“We’re going to have to visit you every year, aren’t we?” laughed Rose, her hands on her hips. Santa admitted that this would be true and they all laughed.
“Will you need any help fixing your shop?” wondered Florence, looking at Maelstrom’s destruction. Mrs. Claus laughed a little.
“Oh, we won’t have anything to do all year! Thank you for asking, but we will be fine.” she explained, fixing her red dress.
“Mrs. Claus is right. But thank you all very much, and have a great Christmas.” Santa said, thanking them and waving, as he used his magic once more to send them all home. It would be assumed that they all needed sleep, but they couldn’t, as it was morning AND Christmas. How can you sleep on Christmas when you get gifts?
The group had done a Secret Santa type thing and met up together at Shade’s house after they all opened their individual gifts from Santa.
“Hi, Kevin! I got you this!” Shade’s gift to Kevin was a huge joke: a grow your own girlfriend, “She becomes actual size!” Shade said. Kevin let out a loud laugh and cheered.
“Finally! What I’ve always wanted!” he laughed some more. Shade had also gotten some sweets for him. Kevin had Jake on his list and decided to give him a CD.
“A CD? Nice!” Jake said, obviously happy to be getting music.
“Yeah, well you need a little bit of a check on your music…” Kevin said with a smile.
“Oh, thanks.” replied Jake, in a half-sarcastic manner. Kevin laughed a little. Jake had somehow gotten Rose and gotten her a headband, “I saw it and it just SCREAMED you.” he told Rose.
“Because there’s a rose in it?” wondered the ex-Huntsclan member, giggling a little at it.
“Maybe.” Jake said. Rosie laughed again and kissed Jake on the cheek before walking over to Jim.
“I got you a hammer polishing kit!” Rose handed it to him, “I haven’t known you for ages, but I know that you’ll like this.”
“Oh, I do like this!” laughed Jim, thanking Rose and putting his gift away. Jim then got out a gift for Florence and handed it to her, “It’s a bracelet! Got some blacksmithing buddies to smith it for you.” he explained.
“Aw, thanks.” Florence smiled and gave Jim a hug after putting on the silver bracelet. She now had her gift for Bea, who smiled and hugged Florence after receiving some golden flower earrings, “I figured that it’d be perfect for a bohemian like yourself.”
“You were right, Florence, it’s perfect!” Bea bounced around after putting them out, playing with her white dress a little before hugging Florence again, “Now for the last gift, Shade!” she called out to him.
“Aw, thanks.” Shade said before accepting his gift. Bea had gotten him a necklace with a bandana-shaped pendant, making Shade laugh a lot, “My two favorite things!” he said.
“You’re welcome.” Bea told him and they all laughed a little.
“Best Christmas ever!” Jake cheered. Everyone agreed and then they all partied until Boxing Day. Where they had another party. And then Ewan nearly ran over everyone because he just got his permit and Ewan decided to break the 4th wall in fiction writing to mention this to people who don’t yet know this great fact.
But no one was injured. ; )
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Oh, and no, that isn’t MY band that played that, it’s only the song we played. ONLY BETTER, AHEM! Also, it was KIND OF meant to follow the music, but not entirely, so don’t try and sort out where it works. So enjoy people! My gosh, I really need to get to work on Scars. I’d love to, but I’m just too darn busy. XD

But no one was injured. ; )

XD
