Err, I never intend to open the cover to clean anything, I can't guarantee if my laptop's warranty is expired, but I also dare not to open the cover unless I'm a qualified technician. After all, whatever you touch can cause damages if you're not careful.

computers are a little more resilient than you may think... i dropped one of my GPU's before and it still worked just fine afterwords. besides i'm just suggesting to get a can of compressed air and blow the crap out. just make shour the tings off and only blow in to the intake and not the out take. don't want to spin the fan the wrong way. (if your up to it remove the back cover and hold the fan while using the air, you really don't want them spinning when cleaning, Ive killed a fan before by allowing it to spin while cleaning)
speaking of cleaning, i need to get to my laptop. *finds his all in one screw driver*

Ahh, I see what you mean. Just blow the vents, well, sorry, no spray, all I got is only my mouth to blow it in. Luckily the vents got some holes on them, that's the only place I can clean them. In summary, yes, I can clean them externally, but not internally.

Ok, let's go back to the same computer stuff here instead of talking about it in the Valve thread. So right now, I finally decide to get my new Studio 15 laptop this month. Woopee! ;D

sweet, let me know some numbers once you get it! (i know its going to beat the pants off of my laptop but im wondering by how much)
in other news... i've just been approved for purchase of a Nvidia Geforce 470! (i would like to go lower seeing as i don't need that kind of power on a Q6600 lintel, but they really don't offer that)

Ahh, the "new" DX11 for you, huh? Well, let's see how it goes and will it compete well against the Radeon HD 5000 series? Anyway, my new laptop's cost's baseline is RM3999, but a few modifications later becomes around less than RM4500. I also hope I could get some answers from a Dell friend of mine if I buy through him might get some discounts.

That's great Kokusho ! And maybe I'll have soon a CD/DVD/BR Reader/Burner SL/DL for my PC So far the one I found costs 299,99 US$ ( which is quite cheap, I was expecting way higher prices) And i might be able to get my HD 5870 2 GB GDDR5 Vapor-X on October if i have this job at my university

My DVDROM with dual layer capability is included actually, but if I want to get a Blu-Ray, it's around RM300, expensive for me but extremely cheap to you.
EDIT : Just got a call from my Dell friend, he said it does give some discount BUT the warranty coverage will become limited. So oh well, I want a full coverage and it's back to purchasing in the old fashion way, through the Dell shop dealer.

Well you know sometimes the turboextended warranty isn't that useful. After all if I had bought my old PC in a shop it would have ben useless as it broke after 6 years and the max I know about it is 5 years.

That is true, Dell also said that as I'm sure every other computer companies also said the same thing.

(and that's not cheep by any standard) Kokusho, so far the experiences i've had with company warranties suck. they never back up there warranties so i wouldn't be fretting about a shorter one. also about your Vs the 5XXX class cards, the 470 works just a hair below the 5870 so i will be set on power in DX10 and DX9 games. however i'm wondering which will be the best in DX11 games (currently the Nvidia ones are working better in the benchmarks so it may be a bit better for future proofing DX11)

That's why I want the HD 5870, to use Dx 11 as well as now many games support it ( AvP, BFBC2, etc.... ). But honestly i won't get an nVidia one as they are way more expansive and have less enhanced performance than the ATI ones >.>

Want to go for the 5870, but upgrading that manually is expensive. Not to mention I already bought the laptop today, that means the delivery is going to arrive before the end of the month. And also, upgrading the graphic card one step above is just like changing the i7 processor from the 720QM to 820QM, and that will be a difference of RM1000+. Graphic cards maybe cheaper, but the difference of hundreds of RM is still a painful kick in my ass.

i won't get an nVidia one as they are way more expansive and have less enhanced performance than the ATI ones >.> LOL? (you must be joking... because that's not the casel...) first off Nvidia's striped down 480 (yes, its striped down from the original Fermi core which we will be seeing in a few months) is the fastest SINGLE card in existence, secondly, whose got 3D rendering capability's (something that i will be and currently use a lot) and a full physics engine built in? (ok, that one's not worth much...) Nvidia. (don't go kidding your self at all, the only reason why ATI is more popular right now is because of its low heat out put and its few months head start have lead to slightly lower prices) some more notes here's US pricing. 5870 = 389$ link5850 = 289$ Link480 = 459$ Link470 = 319$ Linkif you go looking for benchmarks that are based on Tessellation the 470 actually pars with the 5870 so its not a bad card as long as your thinking about the future of gaming and not the current. (meh.. not like i can predict any ways so don't bother with that one) what im trying to get after is don't go talking ANYTHING about the Nvidia cards being less advanced (they rote an entirely new core for these ****ers, ATI just slapped on a tessellation engine and shrunk the core) the good news though is that ATI is working out a new core for its 6XXX class cards, so i would be vary excited to see what they've done to it and Nvidia is working on a die shrink that should greatly help in pricing and heat. (i'm all ways a bigger fan of second generation cores)
