Just from a historical point of view, guerrilla warfare always achieves its ends. That is exactly what Al Qaeda is using against Western Nations. And it may just work until Westernized nations change their strategies. The Viet Cong in the 1970s worked, Communist China in 1940s. that's what i'm worried about. imagine all the progress that could be lost if those backwards radicals got there way. wed be back to the middle ages in no time!

Guerrilla warfare works best when the guerrillas are fighting on their own terms, or have the home advantage, such with Vietnam or Afghanistan. Its perfect record doesn't hold when they are fighting to achieve a change however, whether it be territorial or governmental, China was 1 example where guerrilla warfare successfully induced a change, The Malaysian communist insurgency is an example where it failed.
Also America did not have to withdraw from Vietnam because it was out gunned, Other way around actually, had America never have left, the North never would have taken the South. The war was being stretched on, due to Guerilla warfare, and there was little public support for American involvement both in Vietnam and the United States. If you look at the statistics Nearly 2 Million North Vietnamese were killed, which includes Military, Civilian and insurgents. In comparison, only 56-60 Thousand Americans lost their lives in Vietnam.

Well, my point is... I hope the government understands that the war it is fighting is not normal. This is not World War One, World War Two, or even the Gulf War.

The Malaysian communist insurgency is an example where it failed. its failure might explain why Ive never heard of it. Well, my point is... I hope the government understands that the war it is fighting is not normal. This is not World War One, World War Two, or even the Gulf War. thankfully i do believe most of them under stand that, (from appearances they do), sadly though despite all of our experience with these tactics we still seem to lack a proper method of counter attack. but lets just lay this out now and forget about it. all these damn hippies don't even know half the time whats happening over there. *sweeps it under the rug and moves on*

Whatever happens, we cannot let the issue sweep under the rug. It only signifies defeat.

Like the NATO attacks, I got the feeling that one must be hit-and-run. Let's just hope they don't spread it all the way to the ocean, we remember how it happened on the USS Cole.

When it comes to world power, America always remain #1, if China wants to enter the world power competition, US will be ready to face China as its main rival. Don't forget they also felt jealous because of their #1 economy power, even Donald Trump also did say America is rebuilding China, many things we get over there has a lot of "Made in China" labels.

Well, didn't China finish their Stealth Bomber WAY ahead of schedule? If China has intentions on catching up, they are doing a very good job. America just needs to realize that China will soon join the US on the same level. It is time to show some respect.

Well, that's good to hear. It's best to be as allies. Rivalry for power and see who is the best in the world is just a no-go.

It would be great if everyone were allies. But there are some people in the world who hold grudges against others, some lasting for over a thousand years... meaning they still exist today.

and China's a country that historically holds grudges a vary long time so them gaining heavy influence could cause problems (them and Japan have been a little at each other), or they could have grown up over years to be a rather good country to have sitting around. only time will tell.
to be frank, i really wouldn't mind the USA of loading some of its burden to another country. the idea of policing the worlds been a really big drain on our resources.
