well it sounds like that Swedish article was written by a windows hater, because this is a huge improvement over the older defaults.

I've read more and more about Windows 8 and to me ity looks like a cheap-a$$ tablet OS ported to PC >.> I'm going to stick with Win7 for a looooong while.

Agreed, if the features and interface of Win7 is not broken, don't fix it via Win8 by replacing many things with the "successful" mobile version.

i do agree, if Microsoft cant make it easy to use the classical desktop fully and all the time then they will be loosing out on a lot of sails including mine. i just hope that they do make it simply an option for the UI's that you set at install or shortly after, because the kernel of the OS is rather beautiful compared to the mess that is NT6.x that Vista and 7 run off of. (a good amount more efferent, i'm all ready seeing performance increases and this is a alpha build with out official driver support. games that work are running between 1-5% faster. disk IO's also gotten better)

Speaking of games, but it's still also depend on the graphic card, I'm sure the ones they tested are the controlled cards like those of Intel rather than from ATI or Nvidia.

no, these performance gains are from my laptop. a Cor2Duo 2.1GHz with a Nvidia Geforce 105m (stock clocked, driver 280.26). (i will do more testing at a later date to get better numbers)
also Intel doesn't produce graphics cards, only processors and chip-sets and motherboards.

Intel do not produce graphic cards, they have their own which is the controlled weak versions we know, they just make one and then stopped developing further, these are all for the smaller & cheaper computers, not meant for mid-end & high-end ones. That card which they call it "Media Accelerator" or something.
But if you are the one who is testing it, how did you like found out the performance was better. Did you trace the frame rate or something?

My MacBook uses Intel HD Graphics 3000, but it's not a graphics card, it's integrated in to the processor as i'm sure you know. I tried to find pics of the "graphic card" which you mentioned but I couldn't find any. When I went to a link for it on Intel's site I was redirected to their Atom processors section of the site... :S

That's the one, it labels as Intel HD Graphics, I thought that one was the graphic card that which they make but not meant to be really big game like those made by the big pros. World's finally catching up? Yeap, my laptop is getting more outdated from time to time, like it became future-resistant. Even still, smartphones are catching up too which luckily I didn't buy one yet.

May I recommend the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

May I recommend the Samsung Galaxy Nexus? I can try, although review says it has its own downsides as well. But the biggest question will be what glass are they using? Samsung don't say it's Gorilla Glass, then what is it? People tested it but still no proper results so far.

Hmm... Well, I guess you'd have to keep an eye out for that then. Though the glass has never been a concern for me and i've had my X10 for almost 1 and a half year...

The Xperia series is always labeled as "Scratch-resistant", but can they withstand an accidental drop? After all, smartphones cannot be taken for granted, once the glass is broken, can it be replaced? The Galaxy W is what I'm aiming for, but with websites say no Gorilla Glass and nobody wants to do proper tests (They love their Android so much while iPhones & iPads always get abused and destroyed, I'm no Apple fan, I'm just a person whose into the myths like the Mythbusters). The other is that the Galaxy Nexus is marketed with "fortified glass", but like I know, Samsung is stalling themselves from making so much money, a phone gets perfect specs but unfortunately, they decide to remove key features. Here's what I remember with everything with perfect specs except :
1. Samsung Wave I (The Bada OS is the problem & its own downfall) 2. Galaxy S (No LED flash, even upgraded models STILL have no flash again) 3. Google Nexus S (No 720p HD recording) 4. Galaxy Nexus (It needs tests to verify if the screen is really as strong as Gorilla Glass, possibly Dragontrail? It's almost perfect, but it needs to get rid of this skepticism) 5. Galaxy W (Budget phone with perfect specs, but no Gorilla Glass, the weaker Ace has Gorilla Glass, BUT is anybody buying the Ace these days when the W is the true successor? Main reason, faster processor and with better ability to handle Adobe Flash)
BUT, when everything became so perfect in terms of specs hence the Galaxy S II, sales skyrocket like hell while the other 5 phones above are not so much, probably only skyrocket about 50% or less because of their many weaknesses while the Galaxy S II has nearly no weaknesses.

Well, i've dropped my X10 4-5 times and all i've gotten is a minimal scratch on the screen so that's nothing to worry about Maybe Motorola Defy Plus is right down your alley?
