Today Apple announced the iPhone 4S. No major update. The form factor remains the same. The only real difference is an A5 processor and an 8 megapixel sensor. Very disappointing news in my opinion. In no way worth the upgrade nor first buy really... www.apple.com/iphone/

well the upgrade in Processors is all ways a welcomed improvement, nothing else in listed's worth much... so is iOS5 being ported back to regular iPhone 4?

Yes. Funny they didn't mention the amount of RAM though. And in all reality, i'm glad they didn't change the design. The iPhone 4 design is still awestrucking to me but they really should have made the screen bigger/wider. A 4.0/4.3 inch screen on an iPhone would have me completely sold.

i'm suspecting perhaps Jobs's decline from head to now death has influenced the 'keeping it safe' product update.
going for a bigger screen would be a plus, the dimensions of the iPhone's starting to feel a little old. most screens now are 16:9 while the iPhone stubbornly sticks to a 3:2. its not like they don't all ready have the Chassis real estate to do it.

So true May Steve rest in peace. I feel since his leaving the company has done a complete 180. Too bad.

i'm going to give Apple some time before i go saying that. right now the company as a hole must be in a shock. Jobs was literally the lead in everything there and as such loosing hims probably caused a big rip in its structure.

Sad to see that as well, as for the iPhone 5, let's see if there's anything new. If there really isn't, perhaps Steve might be a key person to Apple's creativity it's just like when Bill Gates was to Microsoft.
