kotaku.com/disney-shuts-down-lucasarts-468473749our friends over at Disney have made the official announcement of the closure of Lucas Arts. everyone being layed off, and the studio will not be publishing its last two games that were in the works, 1313 and the Star Wars Battle Front 3 Prototype. my two cents. **** Disney.

Oh snap!
Well, Battlefront 2 wasn't very good anyway. I don't think it would have been worth it if it weren't a major overhaul anyway.

i don't know who you are any more.
BFII was just about everything a star wars nerd could ever have asked for. the BFIII alpha footage from the old scraped build even included seamless apace to ground combat. (don't know about this edition of BFIII though, leaked footage only shows ground combat)

Okay, poor choice of words from me. Not that Battlefront II was a bad game, but it was too simple for my taste. In small maps it was more fast paced than Halo on steroids (or TF2, or a small COD* map) I just can't really bear that kind of gameplay for all too long for some reason. Though it does have some nice points, like the big maps and Jedi's and stuff. I know there's this one game mode where it's all Jedi's/Sith/Heroes on this desert city map that's pretty fun. Loved getting the bounty hunters and jet packing everywhere to the frustration of all the light-saber wielding enemies. *COD = Worst game Evarr >

yeah the small maps no one liked, the game's meant for large battle fields after all. (if you thought BFII was fast pace, then don't watch me with my hacks for BF1)
also all of the footage of the alpha and the first assault game were of large maps. (do remember, their was a physical limitation on the PS2 and Xbox that limited the sizes of the maps. i beta yea with PS3/360 hardware the game would have exploded in scale)

PS4's already guaranteed to not have any memory issues for its life and likely MS will be some what similar (my guess is less RAM but still in the 3 to 4GB range) so im expecting game size to explode. also have heard a lot of code names for MS's next counsel. Xbox Infinity (most likely), Xbox Next, Xbox8 and good old and trusty Xbox 720.
just thinking, sense the PS4 is a 64bit counsel (memory addressing space's above 4GB's physically can not be addressed by a 32bit run time) we should finally start seeing 64bit gaming take of on the PC. which will be fantastic! i dont know about you but im constantly bumping in to memory limitations with all of these 32bit engines.
