This is a story about a boy who wanders into a dragon cave and discovers that myths can sometimes become real.
I have only got up to chapter five made, but I'm going to post a new chapter whenever I finish a new one. Plus, I'm really busy, what with power writings up the wazzoo (love those PWs =D) and homework. At any rate, if I don't update, just remember that I'm sometimes busy.
Okay, enough rambling, on with the first chapter... ----------- Chapter I: Discovery What happens when dragons, still in their slumber from times long past, awaken in the present? Will they rampage upon the world, thereby destroy it? Will they watch from a distance and leave the humans to their own design? Or will they help those that are in need of help? One dragon will soon figure out his role in the world that we know of today."Oy! I found something!" a voice called out from nowhere. Mazido's eyes were still closed, trying to go back to sleep. "What is it?" another voice asked quizzically. Another voice popped in, "I don't know. What do you think it is?" The first voice spoke out, "I think it's a dragon." "What? Are you kidding me? Those things don't exist!" The second voice protested. The first voice came back in, "Then how do you explain this?" Mazido continued to keep his eyes closed, his mind wondering 'why won't whoever is talking leave me alone to sleep?' "What should we do? Should we see if it's still alive?" The third voice asked. The first voice came in again, "Let's see..." Suddenly, Mazido felt something poke his nose. 'What do those voices want?' He thought. "Is it dead?" The third voice questioned. The first one said, "No, I think it's asleep." The second voice came back in, this time in a very nervous tone, "Then l-let's get out of h-here. I don't want to know what happens when it wakes up!" The third voice said, "Yeah, I agree. Let's go, Frank." The first voice, who Mazido assumed was 'Frank', called out, "Then go, you chickens. I'm gonna stick around and see what happens." The second voice spoke, "Well, don't b-blame me if you get barbequed!" With those words, two sets of footsteps echoed away from Mazido. The voice that the two others had said was 'Frank' sighed and said, "Those two...I swear, they have no backbone what-so-ever." Mazido then felt the poking again on his nose, and thought, 'Okay, that's it.' Mazido opened his eyes, and heard a small yell. In front of Mazido, standing at about five feet and ten inches tall was a boy no older than sixteen. His glasses reflected what little light was shining in the cave. He was holding a small branch, from what presumably came from a tree outside of Mazido's cave, in his left hand. Mazido lifted his head, then his body, and stretched. The boy continued to stand in shock as Mazido complained, "Aah...I was having a nice dream too." He looked down at the boy, whose legs probably forgot how to walk or run, and said, "You know, you shouldn't poke others in the face with a twig like that." The boy continued to lack the functionality of his brain as he watched the dragon arch its back, like that of a cat’s back, as it stretched its muscles. “Jeez, what a few thousand years can do your muscles.” Mazido joked to himself. The boy still stood like a statue, silent and tense. Mazido looked at the boy again and said, “What? Is there something on my face?” The boy slowly, lifted his unsteady right hand and pointed at Mazido. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words could form. Instead, the boy’s eyes began to play a game of slots, and a few seconds later, he fell to the floor in a heap, unconscious. “Oh boy,” Mazido said, scratching the back of his head with his claw. --- And so, that ends chapter one. I made sure to go back and correct any mistakes, but if you see one, just let me know. I tend to be over obsessive with correct spelling, unless its with made up names. Then I have no trouble with it. =D
Anywho, I'll get chapter 6 done so that I can put chapter 2 and maybe even 3 up. But in the meantime, I believe this will tide you over...unless no one reads this story. Then I might go and cry in a corner or something. XD

Well, I can see that only 6-8 people read this. That makes me sad. *Cries in a corner* Yet I will not give in! I shall post, and hopefully someone will post a reply!....or at least a PM about how good/bad it is. I need feedback people! Otherwise I won't know if you like this story or not!
Well, anyway, here's chapter two for your enjoyment. Chapter II: Realization “Ugh….Ow, my head,” Frank moaned as he regained consciousness. “So, you’re awake now, huh?” A voice came from behind him. “Yes, I-“ Frank began before he turned around. He froze on the spot as he stared into the big, red eyes of the dragon. “AH!” Frank screamed in terror, the shock sending cold blasts of fear into his body. “Now, just hold on a minute here. Why are you screaming?” The dragon questioned. “Y…Y…Y-you…are..” Frank began. “Hmm?” The dragon replied. “You’re a…a…a dragon!” Frank exclaimed. “So? What does that have to do with anything?” The dragon questioned again. For the first time since entering the cave, Frank felt a sort of shock, but the kind that instills fear into your very soul…more like a kind that shows surprise, or amazement at something that does not know the present situation. Or in this case, the dragon not knowing where he was. “Um…well….” Frank began, before mustering up his courage. Frank cleared his throat, “Well, we humans don’t get to see things that we consider….mythological.” The dragon looked at Frank with a strange gaze and said, “What are you talking about? You humans see us almost everyday! Some dragons burn crops, others eat what you humans call ‘livestock’, and we kidnap random women you humans call ‘princesses’, and await some male of your species to come and try to slay us and rescue them!” The dragon fell silent for a second before mumbling, “…You and your ‘damsels in distress’…” Frank stared back at the dragon and said, “Are you feeling alright?” The dragon paused for a brief moment, “Excuse me?” Frank coughed and said, “This isn’t the Middle Ages anymore.” The dragon stared at Frank, “The….Middle Ages?” Frank nodded, “Yes. It’s a period in our time when things like that existed. Now, we don’t have any living princesses, or knights, or even see flying creatures that can lay waste to an entire army!” Frank paused for a second, “Well, they still have queens and princesses in England.” The dragon glared at Frank, ignoring his small comment about England, and asked, “Why is that?” Frank said calmly, “This is the Twenty-First Century. We are an age of technology now.” The dragon, from Frank’s view, looked like it was just smacked in the face really hard. It just stood there for a minute, the ringing of silence once again filling the room. The dragon broke it by asking, “What do you mean by the Twenty-First Century? I remember coming in here after I had just stopped a human from stealing from my treasure hoard!” Frank sighed, “Well, what could have been riches beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, could now almost be good enough for pocket change.” The dragon sat down after pacing back and forth, pondering the situation, “So let me get this straight. I’m not in the time period I used to be in, but a period in which time had advance several centuries, correct?” Frank nodded. “And is it also true that I am no longer a realistic creature, but regularly known as a ‘mythological’ being?” The dragon continued. Frank nodded again. The dragon pondered for a minute, collecting its thoughts so that it could grasp the situation correctly instead of spouting anything that came to his mind. The dragon opened its eyes and said, “What is your name, human?” “Frank,” he said. The dragon replied with his own, “My name is hard to pronounce in your tongue, but you can call me Mazido.” Frank nodded to acknowledge Mazido’s words. Mazido sighed, rubbing his claw against his jaw as if to rub away an annoying thought from it, and said, “If what you say is true, show me proof that this is really the time period you claim it is.” Frank said, “Very well,” and pulled out a small black rectangle. Mazido lowered his head and squinted at the rectangle for a few seconds before saying, “How does this prove anything?” Frank smiled and said, “Watch.” Frank moved his right index finger on the left of the rectangle, and in the middle of the rectangle, a flash of light appeared, followed by the letters P, S, and another P. Mazido jerked his head back as the rectangle flashed, and said, “What sorcery is this?” Frank sighed, turned off the black rectangle, and said, “It’s not sorcery, its technology. The thing I just showed you is an example of that technology. It’s called the PSP, or Playstation Portable.” Mazido closed his eyes again to ponder, before opening them up and said, “I want more proof. This black box of yours proves nothing.” Frank sighed and said, “Very well, follow me.” Frank got to his feet and started to walk towards the exit of the cave before he turned around and said, “Um…which way is it to the entrance?” Mazido, for the first time, laughed at this. “Ah, you short-lives. Always good for a laugh.” --- If anyone can guess as to where I got the 'short-life' thing, I'll give you a e-cookie....or maybe a few details about the next few chapters....or something, I haven't decided yet. =S
At any rate, still working on Chapter 6. School's been keeping me busy as of late, and I still have at least three essays due by Friday. >.=.<
Well, hope this staves off some folks that read it. I will get chapter 3 up soon once I finish my work and chapter 6.

Well, I haven't been feeling well for the past 3 days. Must've been something I did or ate that made me feel ill. Oh well, I've had nothing better to do besides playing World of Warcraft or writing this and other stories, as well as drawing a small comic or two.
But enough rambling, time to get to the story posting. Here's Chapter 3 for your reading pleasure! Chapter III: Emergence As Frank and Mazido walked through the cave, their footsteps echoing off the walls, Frank said, “But when you do see the world as it is now, you’ll be amazed. I can’t really put it into words, so I can only show you what I mean.” Mazido made a rhetorical snort with his nose, a small plume of smoke billowing out of his nostrils. Frank coughed and waved his hand in front of him, “But try not to choke me before we get out, please. I want to live long enough to see daylight.” The dragon turned to Frank with a ‘so what?’ kind of stare. Frank cleared his throat. “But you know I jest!” He alleged. --- What can this puny short-life prove to me? Just because he has a fancy black rectangle…thing, doesn’t mean that I’m in the future. For all I know, he could be a wizard. Or even a jester! Mazido kept mulling over his thoughts as he and Frank continued to walk towards the entrance. But what if what he says is true? What should I do then? Should I devour him, like we dragon’s have done in ages past? --- A large whack to the head brought Mazido back to reality, as Frank had tossed a small rock at his head, leaving a small welt on his forehead. “Hey, get your head out of those pink fluffy thought bubbles. We’re here.” Frank said as he pretended to pick up another rock. “Throw another rock at me, and I might just use you for charcoal,” Mazido retorted. --- As soon as they stepped outside, a jetliner had just made its way over the small, rocky crevice that was Mazido’s cave. Mazido looked up and saw the metallic, flying machine, and said, “See? We’re still in the Middle Ages!” Frank sighed and said, “If it’s a dragon, then why do the words ‘Northwest Airlines’ appear on the sides? And why would a dragon have more than two colors. Last time I checked, dragons had only one color for their scales.” Once Frank mentioned the word, he turned around and got a good look at Mazido’s scales. They were colored green, with a darker tint closer to his underbelly, the sun reflecting off of them slightly, giving Mazido a statue-like appearance. Mazido opened his jaw to speak, but slowly closed it, clearly at a loss for words. No witty comeback. No snappy remark. Nothing. “So then…..my friends…..my family…..what happened to them?” Mazido managed to squeeze from his shocked and thought-wracked brain. Frank shrugged, “Beats me. We found you alone.” Mazido raised an eyebrow, “…‘We’?” “Yes, my two friends and I had just stumbled upon your cave. We decided to have ourselves a little expedition,” Frank acknowledged. “I see.” Mazido said. “We didn’t mean to trespass in your cave. We just wanted to know what was inside of it is all.” Frank reassured him. Mazido stayed silent. The sound of birds chirping and of leaves falling filled the air. “The world may have changed, but nature has not.” Mazido commented. Frank nodded in agreement. --- Well, there's Chapter 3 for ya. Hope you enjoy what's here so far while I work on the rest of this story!

Ah, I feel much better. Still feel slightly ill, but otherwise, okay. I get to go to the beach this weekend, which is teh roxxorz. Yet I still need to pack my bags.....>.=.< Anywho, since I'll be gone for the weekend, I thought I'd go ahead and post chapter 4 up so that you all will have something else to read while I'm gone. Won't be able to work on my story here while I'm away though. I don't have a laptop....yet. Well, enough chitchatting, here's chapter four! --- Chapter IV: Return “Where are you going?” Mazido asked, noticing that Frank was walking away. Frank stopped in mid-step and turned around. “I’m going home, to where I live,” Frank said. He turned around again and continued walking towards home. Mazido opened his mouth to speak, but again, no words came to him. So he closed his jaw and watched as Frank was soon engulfed by the trees of the forest. “I really am alone,” he said solemnly. --- “Mom, I’m home!” Frank called out, shutting the sliding glass door behind him. His mother’s torso could be seen through the opening between the cabinets as she called out, “So, how was your exploration, honey?” Frank sat down in one of the chairs at the dining table. I better not tell mother of what I found. She’d go berserk, He thought and said tiredly, “Oh nothing much, just trees and stuff.” Frank’s mom ducked so that her face peered through the gap in the cabinets. Her face was distinctively young for her age of 36, her eyes always seeming to have that ‘sparkle’ in them. She looked around, “Huh? Where did Todd and Jason go? Weren’t they with you?” Frank shook his head, “They were, but they decided to run home when we got near the edge of the forest.” Frank’s mom sighed. “Those two are always running away from something,” She said as she turned back to making dinner. Frank then remembered something from the back of his mind and asked, “Hey mom, what’s for dinner tonight?” She didn’t lean over again, but continued to stir whatever was in the large, metal bowl she was holding with a wooden spoon. She said, “Meatloaf, honey.” Frank smiled. Suddenly, a knock was heard on the backyard door. “Frank, can you get that please? I’m a little busy making dinner!” Frank said, “All right.” Before he left, he heard her say, “And try not to make a noise. Your little sister is upstairs, asleep.” Frank said, “Fine. I’ll try not to break anything again.” Frank walked out of the kitchen, and emerged into his family room. It seemed ordinary, with a small 26” plasma screen TV mounted on top of a TV cabinet. A soft, leather sofa, facing the TV, was placed up against the wall adjacent to it. A Playstation 2 was inside one of the cabinet draws, powered off. Two small mats with arrows on them were laid out on the floor, with the words “Dance Dance Revolution” labeled on them. Several lamps, both standing and table, were spotted around the room, all of them turned off except for two due to the sun setting outside one of the windows. A coffee table was in the middle of the room, its glass surface giving off marvelous rainbows in various parts of the room with what little sunlight beamed on it. Frank rounded a corner and walked down a small hallway, and entered the foyer. Nothing really set this place apart from any entrance, with an oak staircase leading up to the second floor. A small armoire was place next to the door, away from its hinges. A small table lamp was sitting on top of it; a mirror placed on the wall behind it. The doorbell ringed again, and Frank yelled, “Alright, alright. I’m coming.” --- Hope you liked Chapter Four! I know I had a little fun writing it. Yes, I do admit it is small, but at least you won't have to suffer from a wall of text, like another story I'm writing.... Well, until I get back, hope you enjoy reading this. And PLEASE, feel free to comment! It'd make me at least happy to see one person say something about this. Of course, just reading this story will be great. ;D

Hey everyone, BDD here. Finally stopped being lazy after returning from my vacation and decided to post the next chapter. Sure, I might be a little late on the posting, but hey, with over 80 views here, I'm actually glad that someone's READING this story...or skimming it, I don't know. Anyway, here's chapter 5 for your enjoyment. Chapter V: 'Adoption' Frank opened the door and peered outside. No one was standing on the porch; no one hiding in the bushes as far as Frank could tell. “Hmm…” Frank hummed to himself as he scratched his head. Who could’ve pressed the doorbell? He wondered. A slight tapping on his head by something sharp brought him from his thoughts. He looked around, trying to find who or what had poked him. The tapping happened again, and this time he looked up. When he did, he saw- “Mazido!” Frank hollered in shock. Mazido put a finger to his lips and said, “Be quiet, or I’ll make you into charcoal.” Frank immediately clapped a hand to his mouth, but was a bit too late. Frank’s mother had come from the kitchen to see what was wrong. “Is everything alright, Frank?” She asked. Frank removed his hand from his mouth and said, “Uh..yeah, everything’s fine. Just remembered that I had to do something for homework, that’s all.” Frank’s mother put her hands to her hips and stared at him for a second before turning around and walking back into the kitchen. When she rounded the corner, Frank exhaled. He didn’t remember holding his breath, but he gasped for air as he did. Mazido peeked back from over the roof and said, “Who was that?” Frank almost shouted at this point, “That was my mother, green lips! Jeez, don’t scare me like that!” Mazido sighed and said, “By the way, I discovered some strange markings near the entrance to my cave. I don’t remember seeing them when I went inside before my…slumber. Maybe they might be a clue of some kind.” Frank closed his eyes, “Maybe, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow. I have to go to school.” Mazido opened his mouth, but Frank said, “If you’re wondering what school is, it’s basically a place where we humans learn all sorts of things. You probably wouldn’t understand them.” “Oh really?” A voice beside him said. Frank practically jumped out of his socks as he saw a boy standing next to him. Frank looked up to see that Mazido had disappeared. He looked back at the boy, who said, “Just because I’m a dragon doesn’t mean I can’t mold myself to look like one of you short-lives.” Frank got a good look at Mazido’s human form too: A dark-green hair color, followed by regular facial features of a 16 year old boy. Yet the boy’s eyes were unnaturally green. So green it was as if the boy had eaten too many green apples or something. Frank kept looking at the boy until- “Oh, god.” Frank said as he quickly brought his hands up to cover his eyes. “What?” Mazido said. Frank, keeping his right hand over his eyes, pointed downward, “Um…your...” Mazido looked down and said, “So? I never had a point in my life when I needed to go into a human form. I’m always in my dragon form. I didn’t think that you would have a problem with it.” Frank sighed, “It’s…ugh. Look, just go hide in a bush until I come back with some clothes for you.” Frank said as he rushed back inside. Mazido lazily walked to a bush and stood, the bush only reaching halfway up his chest. He waited there for about three minutes before Frank emerged from the house again, with a shirt, a pair of pants, a pair of underwear, some socks, and a pair of shoes. “Make sure that you don’t burn them, please. I’m lending you these until you can get your own.” Frank said as he handed them to Mazido. Mazido took the clothes and said, “And I just…do what, again?” Frank said, his back facing Mazido, “Just put them on. And don’t you even dare ask me for help, cause I won’t do it.” --- After Mazido had gotten completely and correctly clothed (after numerous tries), he emerged from the bush, “Man, you humans wear the weirdest things on your bodies. I can’t begin to say how uncomfortable this is.” Frank smiled as he saw the clothes on Mazido. His shirt matched his dragon’s skin, emerald green, and his pants were colored black. His shoes were colored grey, with a style that matched his clothes. Mazido’s appearance looked like one of those kids that said ‘I can tackle today’…or something to that extent. Frank sighed, “Well, as least your decent enough to go out into the world. Just, try not to make a scene by blowing fire or something. Humans, like me, can’t do that.” Mazido frowned, “Very well. But if someone makes me mad, I might let a flame out or two from the corner of my mouth.” Frank, before turning around and opening the door, said, “But wait, where are you going to live?” Mazido pointed to Frank’s house, which made him a little nervous. “I really don’t think my mother would take very kindly to dragons, in my opinion. Plus, what are you going to say to her?” “Well…” Mazido replied. Mazido made a sweeping gesture with his right hand, and watched as Frank, sighing, opened the door. The two both entered the house, with Frank guiding Mazido to the kitchen, where his mother was. “At least let me give you a human name. Then no one would make fun of you for it.” “Ah, you short-lives, always making fun of one another.” Frank placed his hand to his chin, a habit of his when he was thinking, and after a minute, said, “Okay, from now on, you’re to be known as Mark.” Mazido frowned, a small plume of smoke emanating from his nose, “Mark? That’s the best you can come up with?” Frank shrugged and said, “Hey, I can’t think on an empty stomach! Sue me.” Mazido thought in his head, I bet. Mazido then looked at Frank, “What do you mean by ‘sue me’?” Frank shook his head, “Ugh…never mind.” Mazido thought for a second, “Now, come here and help me with making up a story to tell your…what-cha-ma-call-it.” Frank couldn’t help but make a slight chuckle. “Mother,” he corrected. “Fine, I’ll help you,” Frank replied. Frank steered Mazido into the family room and said, “Okay, here’s what you’ll say...” --- As soon as the two reached the kitchen, they saw that she was moving here and there, placing things on the counter or stove, watching things cook or keeping track of the time. “Mom?” Frank called out. His mother, who was bent over the stove to place something in it, turned to them and replied, “Yes, dear?” Mazido walked up to Frank’s mother and spoke into her eyes, “My name is Mark. You recently adopted me and I have been here for almost a week. You have lost the papers for my adoption somewhere in this house, and you have no inclination to search for them. Me and Frank are best of friends, and live upstairs in his room. You have enough dinner for everyone in this household, and are happy with another person in the family.” As he spoke, Frank’s mother’s eyes looked into Mazido’s eyes, hopelessly mesmerized in the fluent and almost charming voice. After he finished, she closed her eyes for a second before a smile and open eyes greeted them, “Good evening, Mark.” Mazido smiled weakly, and said, “Hello.” --- Well, there you go. Yes, I know it may sound lame, but you know how some dragons have powers that others don't and vice versa? Well, I thought this might dive into Mazido's powers a little bit. It's not much, but at least there's more stuff to read here. =D Anyways, enjoy chapter five. As for me, I have to stop being lazy and get to completing chapter 8. See ya all later. =D

Salutations everyone. BDD here. I've gotten a bit lacking in posting the next chapter, but now that I am here, I might as well post it now. *hugs jump-drive* At any rate, I hope the people that are reading this are enjoying the story. Oh, wait, hold on..... Ah, nevermind, it was a wrong call. Anyway, here's the next chapter. --- Chapter VI: New Life After dinner, Frank and Mazido (or Mark as dubbed by Frank), made their way upstairs with Frank’s guidance. Before they could reach the top of the steps, Frank’s little sister, Sophie, appeared. “Hey, big brother. What’cha doing?” “Oh…uh, hi Soph. I see you’re awake.” Frank replied, scratching his head. Sophie was only 7 years old, an innocent and carefree spirit that could believe almost anything. Of course, she has an imaginary friend, and tends to torture Frank and his mother by poking them on the forehead when they’re asleep. Their father had died in an accident two years after Sophie’s birth, and they only kept telling Soph that same lie again and again: “Your father has gone away, Soph. Don’t worry, he’ll come back…someday.” It was a lie. A wrong lie. And yet, it was only a matter of time until Sophie discovered the truth. Sophie looked behind Frank and looked at Mazido. “And who are you, mister?” She asked in her innocent voice. Mazido opened his mouth to say something, but Frank cut him off and said, “This is your big brother’s friend, Mark.” Frank crouched down and said, “Listen, Sophie. Me and Mark are going into my room for a talk. It would be best if you could leave us be for tonight?” “I don’t know what you mean, big brother, but okay.” She said, and she happily walked back into her room. “That child is one of the weirdest I have ever seen,” Mazido said quietly. Frank shrugged, sighed, and said, “Hey, her adorable factor makes up for that.” Mazido gave Frank a blank stare, “That makes no sense to me whatsoever.” Frank sighed again and led Mazido into his room. --- “So, this is a human version of a cave?” Mazido said as he stepped into Frank’s room. A small laptop was sitting on a small table in a corner of Frank’s room, recharging its battery via A/V cable. A TV was sitting in the middle of Frank’s room, backed up against the wall. A bunk bed was adjacent to the TV, with a bed below and above. A small ladder was propped up against the left side of the bed. A desktop computer was sitting next to the bunk bed, also backed against the wall. Four speakers were mounted in the corners of Frank’s room. Two small bean bag chairs were placed in another corner of the room, with a bookshelf full of books, comics, and various school textbooks, as well as a lamp for late-night reading…or cramming, if you became lazy in your studies. Frank smiled, “Yep, this is my ‘cave’, as you dragons call it. To us humans, it is our ‘room’.” Mazido proceeded to walk around a poke the various things in Frank’s room. “Please, try not to damage anything!” Frank also cautioned Mazido. Mazido only replied with a nod as he poked the laptop with his index finger. --- “Anyway, now that you’re done poking my various room décor to death, shall we begin our conversation?” Frank said, motioning to the bean bag chairs. Mazido felt hesitant at first, but then sat down into the chair, which felt like it was molding to his own body. Frank sat down in the other chair and said, “Now, what were you saying about those strange markings near the entrance to your cave?” Mazido took only seconds of thought before saying, “Ah yes, those markings.” By the time Mazido had finished explaining the markings to Frank, who had been sitting with one leg over the other, his brain processing the information for some kind of unknown answer, it had become dark outside. The lamp that was next to Frank was turned on to provide some light in the room. “Hmm…” Frank hummed as he thought. He sat for a minute in silence before saying, “Well, I don’t know about you, but maybe it wasn’t me and my friends that woke you up. Maybe those markings are there for some reason that is unknown to us at this point and time.” Mazido socked an eyebrow at Frank, “What do you mean?” Frank waited for a few seconds, “If it only took a human’s voice to awaken dragons, the god lord knows that the endless violence in the world would’ve surely awoken up any other dragons from their slumber. Yet here you are, in my room, attesting to that very notion.” Mazido took in the words like water, listening intently to Frank. “As far as I know, I think something else woke you up.” “Oh? Like what, pray tell, did?” Frank shook his head, “That, I’m afraid, is something I can’t answer.” He looked at his watch. “Well, I best go to sleep, or else mother would kill us both for staying up so late.” Mazido replied, “Um….come again?” Frank sighed, “Jeez, and I thought….*sigh*, nevermind. Now that you have told my mother that you were ‘adopted’, you would have to follow what she asks of you to do. Brush your teeth, bathe, and go to school, etcetera.” Mazido followed suit with his own sigh, “Very well, though this goes against my better judgment.” Frank laughed and said, “Well, if you hadn’t shown up here at my house, you wouldn’t have to do this, now would you?” As Frank opened his bedroom door, he heard a scurry of feet. A sudden chill ran down his body as he said, “Oh no,” and rushed to where the feet had gone into. He heard a door slam, and a few seconds later, found himself standing outside of his little sister’s room. --- Oh yes, I do love to make cliffhangers. So fun. =P Anyway, I'm still trying to work on, or get the time to work on Chapter 8. I haven't had the time to write much in this story, so I guess I'll see if I can find the time to write here. At any rate, I hope you all enjoy this chapter, and I'll post Chapter 7 when I get around to it.

Greetings, everyone! I'm back, once again, to grace everyone with another chapter. Yay me. =P
Well, things have been a little bit hectic lately, but they were nothing too major. Although I've had some problems sleeping, they seem to be going away and stuff. So, I've basically had no time to write Chapter 8 at all.
Anywho, here's chapter 7 for your reading pleasure! --- Chapter VII: Secret Frank raised his hand to knock on the door, but paused when he heard his sister’s voice. “Oh, Dolly! I just heard the most wonderful thing! My big brother, Frank, is friends with a dragon!” Her voice said, muffled through the door. She continued, apparently talking to her favorite doll, Dolly, “And the best part is that he’s in my brother’s room! I can’t wait to tell mommy...and daddy, when he comes back!” “Hmm, this could be trouble.” A voice said behind Frank. Frank spun around and saw Mazido, his facial expression showing unhappiness and unease. “Jeez, Mazido! Don’t sneak up on me like that!” He said with a hushed voice. Mazido shook his head and said, “This is bad all the same. If your little sister tells anyone who I really am, then I might be targeted by your knights of this century.” “We don’t have knights anymore. We have an army. But that aside, I better do something about this.” Frank replied quietly. Frank knocked on the door, “Sophie, can I come in?” Sophie’s voice replied with, “Rawr!” A few seconds later, her little feet pitter-pattered on the floor, followed by her door opening, and her leaping forward at Frank. “AH!” He cried in shock. With that, Frank and his little ‘dragon’ fell to the floor. When Frank’s vision stopped being so blurry from head-meeting-floor, he saw his sister on top of him, smiling and laughing like she usually did when she was having fun. “Oh, big brother! I can’t believe you got startled by that!” Frank smiled slightly and said, “Sophie, I know you were eavesdropping on us while my friend and I were talking.” Sophie rolled her eyes slightly as she listened. Frank continued, “It would please your big brother very much if you kept this a secret.” Sophie fell silent for a second before she smiled and said, “Okee! I’ll keep it a secret!” Frank sighed and said, “Thank you, Soph.” Sophie got back to her feet and, crazy eight year old as she is, made her way back to her room in the silliest way possible for her. Frank rose from the floor and sighed again. “That girl is one odd creature,” Mazido said, still utterly confused. Frank smiled and said, “Well, as long as she keeps her promise, and I have good faith in her, we’ll be safe knowing that no one knows of your identity.” As he finished that sentence, a grandfather clock rang out from downstairs. It rang ten times, signaling for 10 o’clock. “We should go and get some shut eye,” Frank said. Mazido shrugged and said, “You humans and your bedtimes…” Frank walked past Mazido and towards his room. “I will never understand you short-lives.” Mazido sighed as he followed Frank. --- I understand that it is a bit short. However, it is a slight problem for both Frank and Mazido. As long as someone knows of their secret, then they have to stay alert. In this case, though, an eight year old who is so hyperactive that bouncing off the walls is considered to be for normal children, knows. So, I hope you will be wondering what happens next. =D
Well, I'm off to write the next chapter. Sayonara!

Huzzah! I've finally got it done!.... .... ... .. . Well, the first part of a three. It's going to get really intense in the next few chapters, but here's the latest one. Now enjoy! =P --- Chapter VIII: School (Part I) “Honey, it’s time to wake up.” A voice called out. Frank mumbled in his sleep as he turned over. A small whack to the head with a pillow brought him out of his dream. “AH!” He cried out as he bolted up, almost launching himself from his bed. His mother was standing over him, a pillow in her right hand; a spatula in her left. “Thank goodness. If you hadn’t woken up with the pillow, I would’ve had to use the spatula,” She said. Mazido was already up, still in the clothes he was wearing from yesterday. Frank’s mother turned to Mazido and said, “Honestly, Mark. I still think you were up all night reading books instead of sleeping.” Mazido shrugged and looked at Frank and said, “Its okay mom. It’s no big deal, really.” Frank’s mom sighed and said, “Well, I’m going back downstairs to make breakfast. If you want anything, tell me what you want now, and I’ll make it.” Frank looked towards Mazido, who had a curious look on his face. Frank then returned his gaze to his mother and said, “Um, just scrambled eggs and some toast would do, mom.” Frank’s mom nodded and proceeded to go downstairs. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind; the first real thought that could get both him and Mazido into a whole bunch of trouble. “Oh crud,” Frank said, his right hand covering his face. Mazido had watched Frank’s mother walk out of the room. He didn’t notice that Frank was still in the room until Frank spoke. “Hmm?” Mazido looked at Frank. Frank said, “We have a problem…a major problem.” Mazido continued to look at Frank, “What do you mean?” But before Frank could explain to Mazido what the problem was, Sophie appeared at the door, a huge smile on her face. An innocent smile that usually meant trouble would follow soon afterward. “What is it that you want, Soph?” Frank said in a slightly annoyed tone. Sophie smiled and, pretending that Frank didn’t exist, walked up to Mazido, her little stuffed lion dragging on the floor in her right hand. Mazido looked to Frank, who only nodded, and crouched down. “Yes, little one, what is it that you want?” Sophie smiled and asked, in her cheery little voice that would probably make any teenage girl turn to mush at the cuteness, “Are you going to that place that Frank always goes to?” Mazido looked at her as if she had punched him in the stomach, and looked at Frank, who only shrugged. Immediately, a voice from downstairs, presumably from the foot of the steps, called out, “Frank, Mark, your breakfast is ready! Mark, you better hustle to it as well or you’ll miss your first day of school!” Frank looked at Mazido, who only responded with a puzzled look on both of their faces. Sophie ran out of the room, calling to her mother, “Mommy, is my breakfast ready yet?” Frank, tuning out the words from the outside save for his room, asked Mazido, “Hey, when you hypnotized my mother into thinking that you were a part of the family, did you accidentally tell her that you were starting school?” Mazido shook his head, “No, I do not believe so.” Frank sighed, “Well, then why-” Mazido cut Frank off and said, “Several species of dragons do have the ability to hypnotize humans and eventually tailoring memories to accompany, but the memories are random, and can effect other humans too. It’s like….like…” Frank broke in, “Like pulling a number out of a thousand for a raffle or something?” Mazido shrugged, “I guess you could put it that way.” Frank put a hand to his head and said, “My god this is making my head spin.” He looked at Mazido, “You really are one weird species, Mazido. Seriously.” Mazido, noticing the sarcasm, bowed and said, “Of course.” --- Frank and Mazido both got on the school bus that took them to the local high school. Hieght’s High School. It was usually quiet around there during school hours, unless something unusual occurred. Mazido had to put up with Frank’s mother hustling here and there because she ‘forgot to get him his school supplies’. Frank was literally rolling on the floor with laughter as she tended to Mazido’s hair, which continued to shape itself back into its unkempt mess, as well as seeing Mazido’s face when she hand to help him put the book bag on. The two walked towards the bus stop, waited until the bus arrived, and clammered on. As the two walked off of the bus to enter the school, Mazido said, “You humans have weird ways of transportation.” Frank pushed his glasses up to his face before they slid off and replied, “Well, it’s better than walking.” Mazido shrugged. Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched. A 15 year old boy, with hair almost reaching to his shoulder blades, blue eyes, and had a black headband wrapped around his forehead, was looking out at them from the bus. “That one…..he’s not a normal kid. He has a strange atmosphere around him.” --- There we go. Now, you may be wondering who the mysterious kid is. Well, I can't tell you yet. It's to torture you all while I write the next part. >=D
Anyways, I hope you like it. Now, OFF TO WoW! <---Is a neerd. =3

Yay, Christmas is almost here. I so can't wait for it. Despite my family not bothering to celebrate it, I will not give up and will make the best of it by doing everything. I will cook, I will set up the tree. I WILL DO EVERYTHING! Even though I'm a guy, I tend to get hyper when a holiday I love comes around. Speaking of holidays, I'm thinking of adding a small chapter with all the characters celebrating christmas! It's going to be really good, I promise you that! And I am sorry about not updating this! I've been feeling tired most of the time, and that has put my work off quite a lot. That means I have 1 day to do the following: Math Science World History U.S. History <---I hate the teacher's guts. English Well, enjoy this next part, albeit it is short. I will try to do the next part after I get my work done! Enjoy! Chapter IX: School (Part II) As the bell rang for the school to open the doors, Mazido and Frank made their way to the cafeteria. Mazido looked around in amazement at the amount of people here. “I’ve never seen this many people in one place before,” he commented to Frank. Before Frank could answer back, a voice called from behind him, “Hey!” The two turned around to see a man, early 30s, wearing blue denim pants, a button-down Hawaiian shirt, and matching shoes was making his way towards them through the crowd of people. The man took a breath and said, “You must be the new student, right?” Mazido looked at Frank, ho only nodded. “I guess…” The man smiled and said, “Great. Just follow me. We have to get you your class schedule, as well as you having a few words with the principal.” The man outstretched a hand at Mazido. “Um…if it’s okay, I’d like Frank to go with me.” He pointed at Frank, who gave a wave in reply. The man, who obviously was in a second of thought, said, “Sure, why not?” The three began to make their way back through the sea of students before he said, “By the way, I’m Mr. Lansdown. I’ll be your guidance counselor in the school. Should there be any problems, just come by my office during your lunch period.”
As the three made their way out of the cafeteria, Mazido fell back to Frank’s side and said, “Um, what’s a principal?” Frank replied, “A principal is basically the person who oversees the school’s functionality. Teachers, events, classes, budgets, everything.” Mazido let the words roll in his head before saying, “You humans are all complex. With your schools and your learning. A dragon is born with almost all the knowledge of the world. More so than you humans can ever know.” Frank sighed, “Well, at least you’ll be able to help me with my homework….not that I’ll ever need it, of course.” Mazido asked, as they turned a corner, “What’s a ‘homework’?” Frank laughed and said, “You’ll see. Just be patient.” Mazido frowned slightly as they rounded another corner. Mr. Lansdown opened the door to the principal’s office, and the two entered in before the guidance counselor closed the door behind him.
“So….that’s him, huh?” A girl’s voice spoke. A group of five students were loitering just around the corner from the principal’s office. “Are you sure?” One of them, who was leaning against a locker, with a piece of grass in his mouth, spoke, “Well, did you feel anything about him? If not, then he isn’t the one.” The girl sighed and turned away from her hiding spot to face the one who spoke. A man, about 17 years of age, with glasses that expressed his eyes more, a black long-sleeve shirt, and white pants with matching shoes, chewed on the grass a bit before saying, “Well?” The girl, age 15, wearing a purple shirt with a white armband, blue pants, and white shoes, retorted, “I don’t know. It was for a fleeting instant, but I saw his eyes. They’re unusually green. Kaivis, Zais, Lineza, what do you think?” The other three, Kaivis, Zais, and Lineza, were male, male, and female respectively.
Kaivis, his blond hair long and flowing, usually wore all blue clothing, save for the small silver earring shaped like a dragon in his right earlobe.
Zais, his red hair short and spiked in several places, wore a red shirt, with white pants dyed red, his shoes matching his clothing.
Lineza, her hair so long that it reached her knees, dressed differently than the other four. She wore a dark, blood red tank top, charcoal-black pants, had a black ring over each eye as if she had never slept at all in her life, and had dragon jewelry all over her. Earrings, pendant, rings, bracelets, each one colored differently.
Lineza asked, “I see you’re not wearing your headband like always. That’s rare of you, Erinul.” Erinul chewed on the blade a little more before spitting it onto the floor. “We must know more about this one. He has a strange aura around him.” The other four nodded in agreement. Before they split up, however, Erinul spoke, “There’s also something else…” The four turned to him, his head looking down and his eyes closed. “The kid next to him. He has a strange aura as well, but on a much different scale. It’s almost impossible for me to distinguish who is the one.” He looked up and opened his eyes, “We must watch them for the rest of the day today. One of them could be just like us.” All four of them nodded and broke away, just as the bell for First Period class rang. Hope you enjoyed it. Now it's off to work on my homework! Huzzah!

Just 6 days away from christmas! Oh snaps! I forgot it was almost christmas until I typed this message. Dang. Time sure flys when you're busy. Oh well. I decided to go ahead with my little plan (that I stated before part 2 of chapter 8), and made a special chapter which I'd like to call "Interlude", or small, random (and slightly comical) tidbits of story with all the story characters in it. Well, I better stop yapping, or I'll bore you to sleep. Enjoy! Author's Note: This Interlude is supposed to be PG-13. The story itself is mostly PG. If your not 13, please don't read it. I don't wanna be sued for scarring one's life. >_< Interlude One: Christmas Special “Hey everyone!” A voice called out. The people in the camera’s view all turned towards the person holding the camera. “Good. You’re facing me.” The voice sounded amused, happy, and carefree. The camera was put down onto a table, its lens still focused on the people in front of it. A boy walked past the camera and sat down with everyone else near the Christmas tree. “Hey everyone. My name is Frank.” Frank said to the camera. “I hope you’re enjoying the story right now. It’s only going to get better from here on out.” Frank smiled, “Oh, that’s right. Let me introduce you to everyone.” Frank nodded to Mazido. “This is Mazido. But we call him Mark. I found him along with two of my friends, Todd and Jason, in a cave just a few yards away from my house.” Frank smiled again, “At first, the thought of a real dragon actually living in this time and era was truly shocking to me. But as time went by, and very shortly too, we became friends very quickly.” Mazido smirked, flashing his dragon teeth. “Well, I prefer to be in my real form than that human guise I always have to be in.” Frank replied, “Well, thankfully, the living room is spacious enough to let you stay here.” Frank’s mother sighed and said, “Now now, you two, no fighting on Christmas day.” Frank’s little sister repeated her mother’s words, “Yeah, no fighting on Christmas day!” Frank laughed, “This is my mother. Her name is Sophia.” Frank’s mother bowed her head, “It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Frank then pointed to his sister, “This is my sister, Sophie. Usually, we call her Soph. She’s the hyperactive one of the family.” Frank’s sister frowned, but then realized she was being complimented….in an odd sort of way. She smiled. Frank then pointed to the other five people. “These are the mysterious kids you saw in part 2 of chapter 8. Kaivis, Lineza, Zais, Nalena, and Erinul in all. These five are plotting something about me and Mazido, but you will have to find that out later on.” Nalena smiled, “It’s a pleasure to meet you all!” Lineza only smiled and refrained from saying anything. Zais spoke in a very creepy and monotone voice, “The electric signals coming from everyone is marvelous.” As he said that, everyone began to slide away from Zais, anime-style. Kaivis put his fists together and cracked his knuckles, “I hope I get to fight someone. I’m dying to put the beating on someone.” Erinul, chewing on a piece of grass, sighed, “You were always the violent one of the group, Kaivis.” Kaivis looked at Erinul, a slightly annoyed expression on his face complete with the anger mark like in an anime, “Well, at least I’m better than your sorry <bleep>!” Erinul spit the grass out and stood up, “Oh, is that right? You want to test your idiotic theory out, Kai?” Kaivis stood up, his fists raised, and said, “Bring it on, smart <bleep>!” Mazido and Frank both fazed out as the two started to fight. “Now now, please. No fighting, remember? You promised that so that you could be in this interlude!” The two immediately stopped fighting, but sat down with their backs to each other. Frank, along with everyone else, sighed, “Well, no use trying to stop them.” Then a smile played across his face, “Well, hopefully, we won’t have to worry about any fighting in the next part, so that won’t be a problem.” He then gestured towards a girl and said, “This girl hasn’t been introduced into the story yet, but she will make a minor appearance in the next part. Please meet Yuka Sonta. She’s a Japanese girl that recently transferred to my school half a year ago. She will meet Mazi in the next few chapters and begin a weird sort of love thing for him. However-” He was cut off, as three girls suddenly burst into the room and started to do a weird dance (If you’ve seen Fruits Basket, then you know what I mean), making the shapes of Mazido’s human name with their bodies. They took a final pose before they began to gang up on Yuka. The first one started off, her blond, curled hair getting in her left eye, “Hey, you Japanese weirdo. What is the meaning of getting all lovey-dovey on Mark? Huh? You better start listing some details before we make a laughing stock out of you.” The other two girls nodded in agreement with the third and began to verbally harass Yuka before…well… “You three.” A mysterious, feminine voice said out of nowhere. As the voice spoke, the room went dead silent, as well as a chilly atmosphere that seemed to chill you to the bone. “You better get away from Yuka right now, or I will <beep> you with electric shocks.” At once, the girls froze for a second before running away, screaming at the top of their lungs. Everyone, a shocked (or scared) expression on their face, turned towards Lineza. “God….scary.” Frank muttered to break the silence. Mazido, Erinul, and Kaivis said in unison, “Definitely.” After that random anime moment… “Well, I guess that’s all that’s left to do…Oh, wait!” Frank said as he remembered something. “We also have the writer here to say a few words! C’mere, dude!” A boy, aged between 16 and 17, wearing glasses just like Frank, long hair that reached to his shoulders somewhat, and dressed in black pants, a white shirt that said “World of Warcraft is a ‘wow’ thing”, and matching shoes, walked past the camera, kneeled down, and smiled at the camera. “Hey everyone, my name is…well, Mazido’s alternate name. Yes, I know. Weird. Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying the show. Or in this case, the story. I’m very excited about it, and I hope I will continue to write it.” The writer then turned his head down, “But I would love it if someone commented on it. How am I supposed to know how good I’m doing if no one responds?” But then he flicked his head up, a smile on his face, “Well, it doesn’t matter. As long as I have readers, I will try to continue satisfying them with a great story and cast.” At that moment, a strange beeping sound began to emanate from somewhere. “What’s that noise?” Mazido asked. Frank replied with a sigh, “It’s my video camera. I forgot to recharge it for this event.” Frank got to his feet, walked over to the camera, and picked it up. Only his face was in view. “Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate! See you next time!” Edit: I forgot to mention. I will celebrating whatever christmas I will have with my family, so I won't be able to write for a little while I will also be gone for some time in January for personal reasons. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope that you will enjoy this story as it progresses.

Wowzers! I never thought I'd get over 400+ thread views! And there's only 9 chapters and an interlude! My story must be popular...or maybe I'm just being obnoxious? Anyway, sorry it's taking so long for me to churn out the chapters. I've been hit with a massive case of homework-itis. Not only that, but I don't have my fav story to read (I'm looking at you, Raffi! XD) to give me the inspiration to write. But, hopefully, those concerts she's going to will get her back on track with the story (She's lucky. I'd die for a Hannah Montana concert ticket....okay, now I sound creepy. ) At any rate, please enjoy the short, but cliffhanging Chapter Ten! Chapter X: Meeting “Ah, so you’re Mark.” A man said from behind his desk. The man in question, Principal Forrester, was what you’d expect a normal principal to look like. He was incredibly fit, since the job required a lot of stamina and footwork, was somewhere above 5’1”, and couldn’t be older than his mid 30s. The principal was wearing a button-up shirt, black suit pants, and a striped tie around his neck. His face consisted of a goatee, slightly long, brown hair that reached down to his earlobes, and a pair of glasses on his face.
Mazido nodded as he took a seat, along with Frank. Mr. Lansdown closed the door behind him and stood next to Frank. Mr. Forrester, leaning back in his office chair, looked at Mazido through his glasses, the light reflecting off the lenses as if to block Mazido’s view of Forrester’s eyes. Forrester then lowered his gaze and said, “I understand it that you just moved into Frank’s home, correct?” Mazido nodded in response. Forrester sighed and said, “Well, I’d like to go over some rules in this school before I let Frank here escort you to your classes.” He got to his feet, paced the floor a bit, and stopped at the window, looking out to see the last bus drive off to collect the elementary school kids. He took a breath and said, “Recently, we’ve had several instances where students in this school have become very aggressive. To ensure that we keep the safety of students as first priority, we have released a list of banned items from the school. This includes mechanical pencils, wire-bound notebooks, and batteries, among others. We’ve had to suspend and even arrest several students who failed to meet these requirements.” He sighed and continued, “And right now, things are very tense in this school. Two of our teachers have been attacked, and one of them had to be sent to the hospital. Frank here already knows who, since he was the prime witness in the incident.” He turned to Mazido and Frank; “All in all, I am asking you, as the principal of this school. I will not tolerate any of that behavior. Do you understand me?”
Mazido sighed as he walked out of the principal’s office, along with Frank. “Your principal is incredibly weird.” Frank chuckled a bit before stopping at a vending machine to buy a juice. He was getting several coins out of his pocket to buy the juice, “Don’t worry about the principal much.” Frank pressed the button, and the vending machine deposited his juice, “He’s on edge right now because of all the things that have been going on. Just try not to get on his bad side, and you’ll be fine.”
All day long, Frank escorted Mazido to each of their classes. Oddly enough, they were both in the same classes: Intro to Trigonometry, Earth Science, World History, even the same drawing class. Each class brought its share of hilarity and randomness. In Trig, Mazido got so bored that he accidentally fell asleep, and a small fireball shot forth from his nose, catching the teacher’s pant leg on fire. In science, he knocked over a table after someone stubbed his toe, causing him to sneeze onto the table rather than into a tissue and igniting the table, which was eventually put out. Since he was sitting near an electrical outlet with various plugs in it, they ruled that it was a spark that set the table on fire. Finally, in drawing class, Mazido had no idea how to draw, so Frank showed him how to draw basic shapes. Instead of shapes, Mazido drew blobs. A circle was a puddle and a square was a circle. Frank laughed so hard, he had to be escorted out of the room for several minutes until he could regain his composure, and even then, he couldn’t help chuckling every now and then until 7th period ended.
“Oh man, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much in my life. Hooooo, man.” Frank said as he wiped yet another tear from his eye. Mazido frowned, his eyes glowing green in annoyance, and said, “Keep it up, and you’ll be nothing but a black piece of charcoal.” Frank fell silent for a minute as he looked ahead of them. Mazido turned to see five students dressed in different garb standing in front of them. “Um, can we help you?” Frank said in a low and serious tone. A boy with red hair, a red shirt, with white pants dyed red, and matching shoes, stared at the two before a man, a black headband wrapped around his head, said, “Let’s go.” The females turned to look at the man, but gave Mazido and Frank a final glance before they followed him. Mazido’s facial expression grew serious as he said, “Frank. We better be careful of those five. I have a strange feeling that they’re not regular humans.” Frank nodded, “Yeah. Even I could feel something strange coming from them.” Frank turned his head to Mazido, “There’s something that’s bothering me though.” He turned his gaze back to the mysterious group of five, “Who are those people, and what do they want with us?” *Cue montage picture of Frank+Mazido staring at the screen with the faces of the five weird peoples walking away, with Mazido's dragon head in the background, staring in the northeast position of the picture, and Frank's face stairing downward in the opposite direction, his eyes expressing his "I'm thinking" pose*
God, I've been watching too much Detective Conan lately. Oh well. Hope you've enjoyed this chapter, and I hope I get my work done so that I can start Chapter 11. :3
Take care, and enjoy what is here so far!

Konban wa, minna! I finished Chapter 11 just in time for Raffi's B-day.
*looks at clock*
...Well, I am 30 min late. But who cares? As long as it got done, time doesn't matter, does it? :3
Anyways, this chapter is dedicated to Raffi, for writing AUA and ATN, as well as inspiring me for writing this story. This chapter is for you, Raffi!
I was going to make you a banner using World of Warcraft models, but I'm kinda lazy about it. Plus, most of my files for making such a banner were wiped off since I forgot to store them on my jump drive before my comp got refurbished.
Oh well. Enjoy this chapter! Several days have passed since the encounter with the Mysterious Five (as Frank had dubbed them) and Frank and Mazido. They only ever saw the M.F. during lunch, and even then it was to exchange glances. Snow had began to fall on the last day before Friday, which lasted from Thursday afternoon when Frank and Mazido got off the bus, to Friday morning. Almost a half a foot of snow had fallen, with no signs of stopping. School was canceled for the day due to the plows not getting all the bus routes open. Frank’s route was clear, but a half of the school lived on the nearby mountain, therefore rendering transportation useless. Yet despite the snow and the M.F. gang, life at Frank’s house was normal, albeit a very Soph-isticated kind of normal. Sophie kept acting like she was hyped up on coffee, being the little seven-year-old monster she is. She even went so far as to paint on Frank’s face, causing Mazido to almost faint from laughing so much. But for the most part, life at Frank’s house was fine, until… “Frank! Mark! You have visitors!” Frank’s mom called from downstairs. Frank, who was typing up his latest blog on the internet, and Mazido, who was perusing a newspaper from “The New York Times”, looked up. “Frank…”, Mazido said. Frank nodded. They both put down whatever they were doing and went downstairs. There, standing at their doorstep, were the M.F. gang. “I’ll go make some snacks while you two talk,” Frank’s mother said as she walked in the direction of the kitchen. When the door shut behind her, Frank dropped his happy attitude and glared at the five. “What are you doing at my house? Have you been following us?” Frank demanded. The tall one, chewing on another piece of grass, smirked, “It wasn’t hard to find you. It’s not that hard when you’re looking at your target from a different angle.” The tall kid spit the blade out and said, “But as to why we’re here at your doorstep…well, let’s just say we want to have a friendly ‘chat’. Beckoning the two towards them, the M.F. gang walked down the steps from the door and towards the massive front lawn. Since Frank lived on the outskirts of town, and most people avoided the road near his house due to the street being a one-way only, Frank would be able to see what the five wanted with him and Mazido. “So, what do you guys want?” Frank asked again. The five stood still for a minute, either fiddling with their nails or bending down to get another blade of grass. “HEY!” Frank shouted. The tall one put a finger in his ear, “There’s no need to shout. We’re not deaf.” Frank began to get agitated, “Then answer me.” The walking jingle-box cleared her throat and said, “We came here because of you two.” Mazido stepped in, “What do you mean?” The red-haired kid spoke, “We came here because of the auras surrounding you two.” At this, Frank and Mazido looked at each other with a “what?” expression. Frank spoke, “Um, excuse me?” The kid chewing on the grass said, “Before we get down to business, let us introduce ourselves.” The kid, who continued to chew the blade, closed his eyes as he said, “My human name is Marc, with a “c”, but you can call me Erinul.” The jewelry stand spoke next, “My human name is Ema, but you can call me Lineza.” The red-haired kid spoke after her, “My human name is Chris, but please, call me Zais.” The longhaired male bowed, his hair obscuring Frank and Mazido’s view of his face, “My human name is Greg, but I insist that you call me Kaivis.” The last kid, a girl, smiled, “And I’m Nalena, but the humans know me by my human name, Kim.” With that, the five backed up a pace before saying, “What we’re about to do may shock you, but please remain calm. We do not mean you any harm. In fact, you could say we’re your allies.” Suddenly, Erinul opened his eyes. The second he did, the air around the M.F, Frank, and Mazido seemed to become still. The sound of birds chirping in the winter air suddenly ceased. The snow that was falling all around them, as well as the yells of children playing in the snow a small way away from Frank’s house suddenly stopped. Frank and Mazido looked around in shock as they saw that everything around them had completely stopped; Sound, motion, everything around them, all suspended in a sustained silence, as if it was a pause for something dramatic. It was as if they were in- “A time-sphere,” Erinul said. Frank and Mazido returned their gaze on the five. “Nalena here has the power to temporarily halt time in an area. We do this as a precaution in case we have to do something drastic.” Nalena had apparently been on her knees, since she was rising to her feet, the knees of her pants drenched in liquefied snow. “What do you want with us?” Frank asked again. Suddenly, the M.F. gang, in unison, opened their eyes, which glowed in different colors. Frank and Mazido, both of them surprised and shocked, watched as each of the five ‘humans’ began to shape shift. It began with their legs, which began to bend and shape itself into an anthro-like shape. Their torsos followed suit, becoming longer, bulkier, and muscular; their clothing somehow morphing along with them as if they added color to their skin. The arms and head were the last to transform. The arms became more muscular in size and strength, their nails growing longer and sharper until they became claws; each of their heads growing a pair of horns between the tips of their ears to the tips of their eyebrows, their mouths stretching into a sort of muzzle you’d see in one of those artist renditions of dragons, their teeth shaping to bend slightly inward as well as becoming more pronounced in size. Their bodies also grew as they transformed, their skin becoming scaly and a strong, dragonscale-plated underbelly. When all five of them finished transforming, Frank could do nothing but stare back and make an occasional gasp like those video game characters that have no voicing except for the grunts and other things. Mazido was just as shocked as Frank. Standing in front of them…were five dragons. Well, there's chapter 11 for ya. I even made a cliffhanger. I'm original. Yep. Anyways, I hope you liked this chappy! MAH CUPCAKE! GO AWAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!
:3 Chapter XII: Explanation Part One “Do I really have to do this?” Mazido asked as he sat down in the weirdly shaped chair. A voice called out from an intercom, “Yes, Mazido. We need to figure out what these people have to do with all the dragons reawakening. And to do that, we have to go to the one thing they created for the sole purpose of investigating.” Mazido sighed and said, “And I assume Frank is already in?” The voice replied, “Yes. He’s been in there for twenty minutes, waiting for you to start with him.” Mazido sighed again as he thought, Boy, this is gonna be a pain in the tail. “Are you ready?” the voice asked him. Mazido took one big inhale of air before he said, “Jack me in.” The voice said, “Keep in mind that this is all virtual. You may not have as big a grasp of all this technology as we do, but you’ll eventually get it.” The voice cut off for a second as the visor attached to the chair began to go down in front of Mazido’s face. “Okay, we’re starting the process. Please stand by for virtualization.” Mazido gripped the chair tightly in his hands as he listened to the countdown. “Three…Two…One….virtualization!” The events that led up to Mazido being virtualized happened a day ago. Of course, I basically just skipped around, so please blame me. And if you’re wondering what I’m think now, then I only have one thing to say. Their my thoughts, you weirdos. Anyway, back to the story. One day earlier... “So, you five are-” Frank began. Lineza cut in and, looking at her claws as if she had just rubbed them on her shoulder, finished his sentence, “Dragons? Of course.” Frank then yelled, “But what does the fact that you five are dragons have to do-” Again, Frank was cut off, this time by Erinul, “With you two? Oh, it has a great deal to do with you. Especially you.” Erinul pointed at Mazido. Mazido looked around and said, with a nervous laugh, “Me? What do you mean it has to do with me?” Erinul sighed, then made a small motion with his right hand towards Lineza. She closed her eyes, her hands beginning to glow with a golden light. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and thrust her right hand at Mazido. Almost immediately, Mazido began to grow, his body reverting back to his dragon form. Unfortunately for Frank, the clothing that Mazido was wearing in his human form had ultimately been ripped to shreds. Oh COME ON! Frank yelled in his head as Mazido looked at his dragon body. “Wha…What did you do to me?” Mazido demanded as he bared his lips back to reveal his teeth to show his anger at the five dragons in front of him. Erinul smiled and said, “Lineza here has the power of thunder, which lets here control everything from lightning to the electronic receptors in your brain.” He looked at Lineza, who spoke in her usual dull voice, said, “Dragon minds are different than human minds, in which dragons have a special section of the brain that humans do not normally use. Using my powers, I forced the receptors in your brain to revert you back to your dragon form.” “I still want to know what you guys want with us,” Frank asked, pressing his glasses back up to his face for the fifth time. Erinul sighed and said, “Dragons are reappearing in this world.” Frank looked at Erinul like he just said some random nonsense, and asked, “C-come again?” Erinul repeated his words, “Dragons are reappearing in this world.” He went on to say, “Someone or something is causing the dragons to reawaken from their eternal slumber. We five only woke up three months ago, wondering the same thing: ‘What caused us to reawaken in this age of technology and firearms?’ We then realized that someone was reawakening the dragons of Earth for some unknown purpose.” He gestured to the other four dragons next to him, “We have been investigating the strange reawakenings since we five were awakened. So far, we have one lead.” Erinul and the other four reverted to their human form, while Mazido stayed in his dragon form for….well, let’s just say he didn’t want to give anyone any nasty thoughts. Erinul reached into his pocket and pulled out an advertisement from a magazine. “Here. We managed to find this in a magazine. It’s an advertisement.” Erinul handed it to Frank, who took it and looked at it. Mazido looked from behind Frank. Frank let off a laugh and said, “You’re kidding, right?” Frank saw Erinul’s stare, and looked at the picture again. Frank handed back the advertisement, and said, “Alright. Fine. We’re in.” “Mom?” Frank called out from the door. Frank’s sister poked her head out from behind the door and said, “You’re gonna be in big twoble, big brother. Mommy’s mad at you for letting the snacks get all cold.” She smiled before she ridiculously walked back towards the kitchen. Frank smiled for a second before it faded. He turned to the other and said, “Follow me.” Frank led them to the family room, where they all took their seats. A moment later, Frank’s mother entered the room, carrying a big tray of assorted hors d’oeuvres. She set it down on the coffee table in the middle of the room, and proceeded to go back into the kitchen to get the drinks. She came back a few seconds later, carrying a pitcher of red Kool-Aid and several glasses, all filled with ice. She proceeded to pour some of the liquid into each glass, and everyone took one after they said, “Thank you.” “Thank you, mom.” Frank said with his glass to his lips. She smiled and said, “Oh, that’s right. I found this interesting article in the newspaper today. Let me go get it.” She walked back into the kitchen, and didn’t reappear for ten minutes. When she did, she had a newspaper clipping in her hands. She handed it to Frank, and she said, “It’s an advertisement for a summer camp.” She then corrected herself, “Well, I mean it’s not summer, but it’s like summer camp.” Frank smiled at this and said, “And how long is this for?” She smiled, “It’s for four weeks of educational fun, along with hiking, rafting, and everything.” Frank looked at the five “guests”, noticing them smiling, their eyes closed. Frank nodded and said, “Sure mom, sounds like a great idea.” Frank’s mother smiled again and said, “Okay. Let me make some reservations for you and Mark here.” Mazido frowned as Frank handed back the advertisement to his mother and watched as she went back into the kitchen in order to call the number listed on the advert. “You planned this, didn’t you?” Frank said. Erinul smiled slightly and said, “More or less. Whether you and Mazido here cooperated with us or not, we predicted that your mother would send you whether you liked it or not.” Frank looked at Mazido, who only shrugged and replied, “Hey, what can I say? Dragons can really think ahead.” Frank sighed and said, “Alright. I’ll tag along. When do we leave?” ----- OOOOOOO CLIFFHANGER OMGWTHIHGIHAC! I love sugar. It's like what mana is for Blood Elves, but edible. And yes, I play World of Warcraft. Sue meh!

Now that my "cupcake hangover" is gone, I'm not ready to present everyone Part 2 of Chapter 12! It's longer. It's much more enjoyable. And it will probably be making you say, "lol, wut?" Well, maybe. -------- Chapter XII: Explanation Part II The next day… “Man, you get to go everywhere.” Soph whined as she watched Frank check his bag for the millionth time. He smiled and placed a hand on Sophie’s head, “Don’t worry, little sis. You’ll someday grow up to my age and be able to do all sorts of stuff and go to different places.” Soph smiled back, “I guess. But I still wanna go with you.” Frank shook his head, “You’re not old enough yet, Soph. Besides, this is an all-boys camp. There’s no room in there for little girls like you.” Frank smiled as she blinked innocently at him. Almost immediately, she ran out of her room. Frank’s smile vanished as he saw her run off, and said, “I hope I didn’t make her upset.” Thankfully, Frank’s fear was abated as he saw Sophie running back into the room, holding something in her hand. She held it out to Frank, which he grabbed in surprise. Sitting in his hand was Sophie’s favorite doll. Frank looked at his little sister and said, “This is for me?” She poked him on the forehead and said, “It’s only until you get back, big bwother. I want my dolly back when you come home!” She put her hands behind her back and said, “Come home safely, okay? I don’t want you to go away like daddy did.” Frank felt the sadness tug at his mind, but he shook it off and said with a smile, “Don’t worry. I’ll come back home. I promise.” “Frank! Come on down!” Frank’s mom called from downstairs. Mazido turned to Frank and said, “Ready?” Frank nodded. He and Mazido both grabbed their bags and walked out of the room, with Soph following them. The three of them walked down the stairs and towards the door leading outside on the porch. Mazido and Frank shivered slightly as the winter air hit them like a wall. They both looked to see a small bus sitting outside their driveway, with Erinul and the other four kids leaning against it, still wearing the same garb they always did. “I swear, you kids better not catch hypothermia while you’re gone. The last thing I need to do is go to the hospital and see you there on those hospital beds.” Frank’s mom commented. Frank sighed and said, “Don’t worry, mom. We’ll be fine.” As Frank and Mazido heaved their luggage onto the bus, they bade their mother and Sophie goodbye. When the bus pulled out of the driveway, Frank and Mazido watched as their view of the two women begin to get obstructed by foliage and trees, until they were far away from view. --- “So, where are we going?” Frank asked. Erinul nodded, “We’re going our base of operations a few miles away, in the city of Harper’s Town. Our base is directly below a small shopping area, so it won’t take long for us to get there.” Mazido then questioned, “But what are we going to be doing?” Erinul smiled, “Don’t worry. You’ll see when we get there.” Frank fell silent as he looked out the window of the bus, watching the scenery passing by him. What could be in store for himself and Mazido? He was about to find out as soon as the bus stopped. --- “Here.” Frank bluntly stated. Erinul nodded, “Yes. This is where our base of operations is,” as he climbed down the bus’ steps. Mazido followed Erinul, followed by Zais, Lineza, Nalena, and Kaivis. “You know. Sometimes I feel like I’m in some weird insane dream,” Frank commented. Kaivis shrugged slightly, “Well, get used to it. This isn’t one of your fantasy stories.” The five of them walked behind a trash can and, with luggage in tow, Frank and Mazido followed. Erinul nodded to Zais, who snapped his fingers, causing a small spark of flame to jump out of his fingers. It landed on a small indent in the wall, and when it did, it was immediately snuffed out. A few seconds later, Frank was about to open his mouth when a door appeared out of nowhere. It opened, showing a small room inside. Frank, Mazido, and the other five human-disguised dragons walked in. It was slightly cramped, but there was enough room to fit all of them in. The doors closed in front of them, and a voice above them said, “What is the pass-code?” Erinul sighed, “Only the spark of fire can bring back life.” The voice then said, “Very well. Stand by.” A small panel appeared on the right side of the elevator. Erinul punched in a series of buttons, making sure that Frank and Mazido saw which ones he was pressing, and turned the panel sideways. The elevator came to life, slowly lowering them down to the depths of the earth until the doors opened up again. When they did, Frank and Mazido looked around. “You like what you see?” Nalena asked with a wink. Frank and Mazido, both at a loss for words, only nodded their heads. In front of them, was an underground city. Humanoids of different species and nationalities were walking here and there, yelling out prices or discussing some other important issue. Humans, werewolves, fox-like humanoids, almost every kind of anthro-like creature you could think of were inhabiting this underground city. “We call this place ‘Kakureshi’. It means Undercity, in what you humans call Japanese,” Zais said. Erinul nodded, “This place is one of the largest underground cities from the Medieval Ages. When the dragons went to eternal sleep, it was up to the Phaers to keep the peace between all the underground cities.” Frank looked at Erinul, who replied, “Phaers are basically like humans, but they are ethereal. Their only physical form is a humanoid figure with bandages wrapped around them.” Lineza, in her dull voice, said, “We should get going.” Erinul nodded, “Of course. Of course.” Erinul motioned to Frank and Mazido, “This way, please.”

It wasn’t long before Erinul pointed out the towering building in the middle of the city. Erinul also explained what the purpose of the “Kakushichuu”, or City Core, which was basically a center of information. It was also where people of all races came to do business, either selling goods or information, or even for hiring mercenaries. There was even a floor dedicated to training rooms for those that wanted to become stronger. Frank managed to keep a grasp of this whole other world as he passed by an anthro dragon walking on two legs. Frank noticed this and said, “I thought dragons couldn’t walk on two legs.” Erinul smiled, “That is a “Ryuukihei”, a dragoon. They are basically half human, half dragon.” Frank paused for a second to let it sink in before he continued his walk to the Kakushichuu. “Are there any other humans here?” Frank asked as they reached the base of the tower. Erinul nodded, “Of course. On Earth, the people who are associated with what you call a “government” know of this place.” Frank then asked, “So the President of the United States, the Secretary of Defense, and the other major political figures on Earth know this place exists?” Erinul nodded, “Yes, but they are sworn to never divulge any information about this place, except when the world is in danger. This hasn’t happened at all, but we did meddle in some human affairs like the Black Death of 1347 to 1351.” Frank, while skeptical of those words, also couldn’t deny them. He pondered this for a bit before a voice in front of him said, “So, you’re finally here.” Frank looked up and his body felt like it had shut down his nervous system. Sitting in front of him was a werewolf, but the eyes had the same exact look as in the pictures in Frank’s home. “Oh my…n-no way…” Standing right in front of Frank was his very own father. “I can’t believe how much you’ve grown.” Frank’s father said. He looked and said, “And yes, I know all about you too, Mazido.” Frank was about to spew out so many questions about where he was, as well as why he disappeared and the like, but Erinul cut him off and said, “Dr. Walkins, we need to know if the virtual pods are ready. We need to know how soon we can start the mission.” Frank’s father nodded. He gestured towards a door on the left, “This way, Frank.” Frank walked through the door, but not before getting a second glance at his father. Despite having a werewolf appearance, Frank’s father had a caring atmosphere around him, his eyes giving off an aura that would make anyone calm. Mazido made to follow Frank, but Erinul placed a hand of his shoulder, “You two will be going in separately. You’ll need to know what you’re going up against.” Mazido watched as Frank walked into the other room with his father. Mazido sighed, “Very well.” Erinul motioned Zais, who nodded and proceeded to escort Mazido through the door opposite to the one Frank too. Before he reached the door, Mazido said, “But nothing better happen to Frank.” Erinul replied, “Don’t worry. We’ve taken every precaution to make sure he will be safe.” Mazido reluctantly nodded, and followed Zais through the door. --- “You get all of that, Mazido?” Zais said. Mazido nodded, “But I still don’t understand how someone could be waking the dragons in this way.” Zais shrugged, “You’re guess is as good as mine.” He looked up to see Erinul staring at him. Zais then looked back at Erinul and spoke, “Come on. Let’s get you started.” Mazido took a nervous breath and nodded. He followed Zais, not making a sound except with his footsteps. Eventually, Zais led him to a door, at that which he said, “Go through this door. Erinul will give you instructions when you do. They’re simple, so if you follow them, we can get started.” Mazido swallowed, not knowing if this was for good or bad, and took a “leap of faith”. The door slid open, and as soon as Mazido stepped through it, it slammed shut. He looked behind him, but decided to continue forward. “Good. You’re in.” Erinul’s voice said. Mazido didn’t bother to look around. Right now, only one question was in his head. “Where’s Frank?” He asked. A different voice, this one he guessed to be Frank’s father’s voice, said, “He’s fine. We’ve already sent him ahead of you. We just need you to join him, then we can begin the mission.” Mazido paused for a moment, wondering if he should back out of this, go back to his cave somehow, and go back to sleep. Instead, he went against his better judgment and said, “What would you have me do?” Dr. Walkins only said, “Listen to my instructions, and you’ll be all set.” --- “Do I really have to do this?” Mazido asked as he sat down in the weirdly shaped chair. Dr. Walkins’ voice called out from an intercom, “Yes, Mazido. “Three…Two…One….virtualization!” -------- And there you have it. I had to split the chapters up since it would be extremely long. And you don't want that, right?
Anyway, I will begin writing Chapter 13, but I'm gonna chill for a few days before I start on it. Until then, please feel free to leave a comment. I'd love to hear how you like the story so far.
And at 700+ views, I'd really like to know.
