In Fool's Gold and Breakout it was indirectly mentioned that they think magical creatures are filthy and disgusting. Can you reference a season 1 episode where they referred to their "grand plan". No, you can't.Because, it didn't exist. In the first season, the Huntsclan were the equivalent of black market poachers. They were in it for the money, there were no personal feelings. The enmity with dragons was because they protected magical creatures against the Huntsclan. That is why in the blog it was referenced that kids had no clue why the Huntsclan existed and added the goal in Season Two.

Since when do reasons matter?
Is there any particular reason why Doctor Drakken (or any one of a thousand villians) want to take over the world?
But, in the case of the Huntsclan, I'm assuming it's tradition. Their fathers did and their fathers before them and so on. Also, in the first season, it seems they were motivated by money.

Well, in Season Two they kidnap chhildren, but oh well, it's pretty much the same from their point of view (the whole "filthy magical creatures" thing seemed for a cover-up for something so ok, I'll go with that). But, about the reasons, you aren't going to do something (probably stupid) for no reason, so that's why they exist.

Check the season 1 episode "Act 4, Scene 15." With at least one exception of "Act 4, Scene 15," most of the Hunstclan episodes in season 1 were about the Huntsmaster trying to get his apprentice her first dragon.
As far as a reason for a common villain to take over the world, that is what makes them a common and average villain. They don't need a reason beyond "Because I can."

Or, it's because they are either angry or crazy. It's a stereotype (I mean the mad scientist, but anyways, this is off-topic).

#1: For what purpose hunts-clans try to eliminate all magical creatures? There's no logic to this. It's one of the many bad changes they made to season 2. I haven't seen the first season and have only seen parts of the second so I don't know what the evolution looks like but I can give you a take on the current version What you are looking at may be something that is somewhat unique to the US. At least I've never seen one in another country. It's what we call a Hate Group. Wikipedia defines Hate Group as the following: A hate group is an organized group or movement that advocates hate, hostility, or violence towards members of a race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or other designated sector of society, or that supports and publishes assertions and argumentation characteristic of hate groups without necessarily explicitly advocating such hate or violence that otherwise characterize hate groups. In this case, The Hate Group is directed against those it identifies as Magical Creatures. Hate Groups are known for committing Hate Crimes, which are acts of hate, hostility, or violence, towards the target group in question. As one can see from the Huntsman, Hate Criminals are completely unreasonable, irrational, and hypocritical in their dealings with their targets. This is perhaps the thing which has drawn me most to this show. A Hate Group is a very adult enemy to give to a cartoon character. Especially one whose only 12. I am constantly astounded at Jake and company's ability to deal with them. It's definitely a first for Disney and for Cartoons all around the world. #2: Is there any meaning of Rose's birthmark looking like a dragon? Well, I always imagined it meant she was destined to be with Jake. The Huntsclan, of course, told her it was meant she was supposed to hunt dragons. I think their dragon marks are tattoos, Rose's is the only genuine one. If that's true then the Huntclan is guilty of even greater crimes than The ones I list in my thread 'Crimes against children in ADJL' (Oh go look for it yourselves) That would mean that the Huntsman has kidnapped an entire school full of babies, tattooed them in their cribs, and proceeded to brainwash them into killer zombies. Even Hitler never went that far. #3: Why does Rose say slaying dragons is her destiny? Again, because she was taught from birth to believe it. However, she eventually rejects this outlook, when she begins to secretly (and then directly) work against the Huntsclan. [/quote] Yes this is precisely what makes this show so memorable. Rose and her classmates (and maybe even her professors) have had their basic human rights violated in ways that would make even the harshest tyrant shudder. Jake and company are fighting not just an ancient conflict, but a very modern one as well. It's ironic that Jake and his dragon reletives are the ones who represent the freedom and tolerance that are todays ideals while the Huntsclan, which represents the average joe human, is steeped and crippled by it's own fascist doctrine of hate and intolerance. I would also add that Rose is the greater hero than Jake. At least she seems to know more about sacrifice than he does. If only just. P.S. Sorry for my poor English... I'm not a English speaker. Hope you have a nice day, anyway!^^ If you can't read English, how can you read my answers? I'm genuinely curious, how does that work? Dude, You too funny. ;D

On the subject of the first question, I thought it would be smart of the Huntsclan to announce the excistance of magical creatures, and claim that they are protecting the world from their vermen. They would have the human population on their side and they could gain power by so called heros. Basicly do what Dewey Novack tried to do.

But if humans found out about their lie, they would be in pretty big trouble (I mean, would a hero kidnap babies?).

They would have the human population on their side and they could gain power by so called heros. Basicly do what Dewey Novack tried to do. If you have seen "Men in Black," same logic. For the Huntsclan, it is better to have the humans not know anything about magical creatures being real. With the humans knowing, some will work with magical creatures, some will get in the way, and the world governments can really interfere. Although, I have a more refined idea on what the Huntsclan is. Throughout the ages, you may find events involving sacrifices to appease the nearby dragon, cultists worshiping demons, and witches that steal children for their own uses. The Huntsclan could have been made to fight the magical creatures that harmed humans while the Dragon Council and other magical societies worked to turn the knowledge of magic into a faerie tale. Because only the good magical creatures never exposed themselves but only the bad, the old Huntsclan only thought magical creatures were evil.

Yes, there were supposedly similar secret organizations founded on both sides of the crusades. The Catholic Inquisition began as a similar organization attempting to control religious figures who rose to cult status and took advantage of their followers. Such organizations, however, have no place in a modern educated society. If the HUntsclan had properly evolved, it would have become an organization exactly like the Men in Black bring in magical criminals and helping magical citizens live their lives. Instead it is a Hate Group attempting to eliminate magical creatures regardless of the consequences. If they were successful, Who's to say what the effects would be on the environment. Perhaps their necessary to sustain life. The Huntsclan never bothers to think of these things. That's what makes them dangerous to more than just magical creatures.

I think you're losing the whole concept of the HUNTSclan: they're HUNTERS, as in poachers... They kill magical creatures to sell their horns or pelts in the magic society and get rich. So they don't actually kill all magic beings, only those worth killing.
And the kidnaping of children is a completely different thing: people born with the huntsmark are different from normal humans (they have superior strenght in any case). The huntsclan thinks they're actually doing good by uniting the "marked" humans.

True, and you're indeed correct as they ARE more dangerous then most magical creatures. All I want to say is that they could exist inbetween the human and magical world without being noticed by the humans and while being feared by magical creatures. Another reason why they can is because they have the best of both worlds: money and magic strenght!

Yes, indeed, and truth be told, It's one of my favorite parts of the show: an adult real-world enemy that does what our society acknowledges is the worst kind of damage. We can't help cheering for Jake in his efforts
