Seeing as I'm such a music fanatic and it's almost a new year, I thought I'd review what I think are the top albums that were released in 06. So, here they are!
#10 "WWE Wreckless Intent" - Various Artists
Now I know there are some people out there who despise wrestling (unlike me) but despite that, this is still an awesome album! With some obscure, yet still kick a** bands such as Killswitch Engage, Theory of a Deadman, Shadows Fall, Saliva, P.O.D and Mercy Drive (to name a few) all delivering awesome, original, never before heard songs!
Single(s): N/A
Fav Song: "This Fire Burns" (Killswitch Engage)
#9 "Stadium Arcadium" - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Although I'm quite a big Chilli Peppers fan I hate to say that this album didn't live up to my expectations as much as I thought it would. Their first single "Dani California" wasn't really their greatest song (in my opinion) but over time the album grew on me, and so did songs like "Tell Me Baby" and "Snow (Hey Oh)" which are both quite catchy, and really do showcase the old school RHCP style. I would recommend this album to any RHCP song as even though I was a little dissapointed by it at first I believe that it grows on you and is still worth having in your CD collection.
Singles: "Dani California", "Tell Me Baby", "Snow (Hey Oh)", "Hump de Bump", "Desecration Smile"
Fav Song: "Torture Me"
#8 Every Man For Himself - Hoobastank
A new and awesome album from another favourite band of mine Hoobastank. With the amazing vocal talent of Douglass Robb who creates catchy and emotional charged songs with this album being no exception. I love this album, and I'm sure you'll love it too.
Single(s): "If I Were You", "Inside Of You", "Born To Lead"
Fav Song: "Inside Of You"
#7 "One-X" - Three Days Grace
After three years since their debut album "Three Days Grace", Canadian rock band "Three Days Grace" followed up with the album "One-X" delivering a smashing rock album that featuring Adam Gontier's unique vocals, impressive drums by Sanderson and catchy guitarwork of Stock and Walst which made awesome songs you want to listen to over and over again, such as the smash hit single "Animal I Have Become". Very worth buying.
Single(s): "Animal I Have Become", "Pain"
Fav Song: "Gone Forever"
#6 Black Fingernails, Red Wine
"Black Fingernails, Red Wine" is the third album released by Aussie rock trio, Eskimo Joe who combine rock instruments such as guitars and drums with more orchestral sort of instruments such as piano and keyboards (similar to Coldplay). This album is great because it has a number of different styles showcased on the album. There are more rocky and heavy songs such as "Sarah" and more harmonic and softer ones like "Black Fingernails, Red Wine" no matter the style though, they are all cool and catchy songs worth listening to. Try it out sometime!
Single(s): "Black Fingernails, Red Wine", "Sarah", "New York" (to be released in 07)
Fav Song: "Sarah"
#5 Shine On - Jet
One of Australia's most popular bands are the four piece rock and roll band from Melbourne, Jet. They grew evermore sucessful with the release of their new album "Shine On", having 6 singles released which experiment in a more heavy and rock sort of style (taking after Aussie Rock'n'roll legends AC/DC) but never losing their reputation for creating popular and addictive songs.
Single(s): "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is", "Bring It On Back", "Rip It Up", "Stand Up", "Shine On", "Skin And Bones"
Fav Song: "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is"
#4 Desert Lights - Something For Kate
One of my all time favourite bands are Aussie rock trio, Something for Kate who blew through the charts with their smash hit album "Desert Lights". Something for Kate deliver a harmonic, poetic, and unique rock style with some of their greatest songs yet! I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys those softer and more harmonic styles of rock.
Singles: "Cigarettes & Suitcases", "Oh Kamikaze"
Fav Song: "Oh Kamikaze"
#3 Staind - The Singles: 1996-2006

An awesome greatest hits album, for an awesome bannd. Capturing their most sucessful and popular songs that have topped charts and captured hearts for over a decade. Definitely worth buying for the fan of Staind, or even just the fan of rock. Either way, I garauntee you'll love it.
Single(s): N/A
Fav Song: "So Far Away"
#2 Phobia - Breaking Benjamin
I swear, these guys get better every time they release an album. You want proof? Listen to this album. You'll believe me. All the songs on this album are awesome showcasing Burnley's awesome vocals and lyrical stylings folowed by the crushing guitar riffs and drum work of the rest of the band. I was hooked from the moment I heard their first single, and now I am eagerly awaiting the next one.
Single(s): "The Diary Of Jane", "Breath"
Fav Song: "Evil Angel"
#1 As Daylight Dies - Killswitch Engage
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:KSE-AsDaylightDies.jpg
An absolutely awesome, mind blowing album featuring an awesome combo of melodic death and catchy harmonies creating the style uniquely showcased by Melodic Death by Killswitch Engage. A perfect 10, easily one of the greatest albums I have ever bought.
Single(s): "My Curse"
Fav Song: "Reject Yourself"
If only Nickelback had released an album in 2006 XD Anyway, you can post your top 10 too if you like. Or just comment on mine, either way.
Note: Compilation and Greatest Hits albums can be used. As you can see in my two examples above.
