I tried unsuccessfuly to fit the entire album title into the thread title.
Quick history of Femme Fatale: From The Abundance Of The Heart, The Mouth Speaks is the first CD made by Toronto-based indie band Femme Fatale, who has also released a few LP records. The band was originally a side-project that Jesse F. Keeler started when he was in Death From Above, but now that the band has broken up, he's had more time for Femme Fatale and MSTRKRFT.
The only member of the band is Jesse, who does the drums, bass, guitar, synths and singing. However, when the band plays live there are as many as 7 or 8 guys playing.
The music can best be described as hardcore Death From Above...that is an understatement. As soon as you put the CD on you're assaulted with a brick wall of sound. The music is often so intense and loud that you can barely hear Jesse screaming over it. The only respite from the onslaught is the very last song, which is a completely out-of-place piano solo by Jesse's sister Rachel.
Throw it on, crank it up, enjoy.
Tracks:
1. At The Altar 2. Fat It Down 3. Party Tonight 4. Into Dust 5. I Talk With My Hands 6. The Umbrella Opens 7. Into Dust Reprise
