Well... I wanted to take a short break from AUA. And I haven't written song fics/one shots in a while. So... I wanted to see how much I've improved and... well, maybe not improved. By the way, it's pretty short... but it took FOREVER to do. So I appreciate replies!!! Reading this one shot is better if you listen to song. XD
OH. I just felt like using three characters in this story. I don't own any of them... so I have a disclaimer to prove I'm not a stealer. >.>
War.
Hate.
Death.
Sorrow.
Those were sinful, powerful words that had come upon reality to form this entire tragedy. It was such a sad sight to watch and very painful to look at.
Two people hid in a secrete area underneath a lofty tree, looking as this battle that seemed to have never been nearing an end for quite some time… It revealed that one of them was a male and the other was a female. It is also disclosed that they’re obviously together. You know what I mean. Anyway, this was, again, a very mournful scene; only it wasn’t intentional for them to watch it like that. It was just… so hard to turn away.
You would’ve had to be there to know what it’s like to feel this crave for destiny, a hope that this remorseful action never happened.
From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight
“Shade… I… I can’t believe this is all happening.” The girl (Florence) said, standing behind the area where they located themselves in. She spoke silently, her voice almost inaudible to the person next to her. “I mean… nobody deserved it… r-right?”
“No, not at all,” replied the boy (Shade). He stood next to Florence, never leaving her side. They knew how dangerous it would be to face—or better yet, watch—a battle like that all alone; it would probably lead to immediate death either way. “Nobody deserved it.” He restated her question. “It’s just that nobody understands how wrong and regretful violence can turn into.”
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
“But… Shade, wait… w-what are we going to do about all of those people?” asked Florence, her voice showing that she holding back tears. “They all deserve their lives… whether they’re good… or their bad. You know… Don’t you think we have to help them?”
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
“I know it sounds like the right thing to do, Flo,” sighed Shade. “But… we don’t want to have to take the risks. You know, would you rather die?”
Florence slowly shook her head in disbelief. “No… I wouldn’t. Of course not…”
“I want to do that as much as you; you know, try and save all of those people.” He muttered. “But, you know what I mean. We could probably end up taking our own lives too… and we might not even have time to save anybody either. Who knows? We sure don’t, but… the risks are far too deadly.”
And I'm singing
Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
“I know what you mean,” Flo sighed. “But either way… I still feel bad; since all those people… our friends… the ones we know and love… they’re taking their chances… and.”
Shade took her hand, nodding his head unhurriedly. “I do too; I feel terrible for not doing this either… but if you really want them to be happy, didn’t you ever think that you could just let them know that by saying that you’ll still be here? Because… if you are… then… so will I.”
They both stood side-by-side, still watching as the smell of fumes and fire filled the air; the sound of screams with terror.
And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along[/i]
Florence watched… and watched. Then it came to a point when she just couldn’t take it anymore. She leaned her head against the lumpy, cold tree bark… wondering what it’d be like to be in that horrible battle scene; she couldn’t take it, she started forming tears in her eyes.
Shade looked over at her and put his arm around her, to let her know that someone was still there by her side. Florence sniffled and she could feel that comfort, grateful and glad to know that Shade would always be there.
“Thanks.” She whispered softly as he nodded kindly and sincerely. They took each other’s hand, leaned their heads together, and still stood side-by-side, watching the battle… it sounded as if it drawing a conclusion. But still, it was an awful sight either way.
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
(I'm alive)
As a final blow had hit like a deep crater through this almost-empty region, Florence placed a hand over mouth… Again, it was so hard to take this all in. She didn’t notice her other hand still grasping onto Shade’s…
“Everything’s going to be okay.” Shade tried stay strong and calm her down.
A cloud of smoke appeared and made its way over to their direction; it caused the two do nothing but close their eyes and cough—the smell was terrible.
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When the area was completely clear of this smoke, they both opened their eyes. Florence gasped softly and sadly.
“Shade… look.” She pointed.
He looked over at the destination she was pointing at and he couldn’t help but do the same. The entire place… it was filled with nothing. Whether the battle was over or not, it was still a painful display…
They both took a short glance at each other and ran over, seeing somebody familiar struggling to get to his feet. It was Jake, reverting from dragon to human form. Shade and Florence could see that he was really exhausted.
“Jake!” Florence said softly, helping him up with both hands. “Are you okay?”
“Shade. Florence.” Jake just spoke quietly. “How’d you guys survive?”
“We were hiding behind a tree, watching every moment pass by.” She replied with a sigh. “Why did you want to be part of it, Jake?”
“Because… I thought it was the right thing to do,” He sighed as well. “But… turns out, I’m the last survivor. I couldn’t save anybody.”
Florence felt the same. “I wanted to do that too. But I realized that it wasn’t going to help if we either sit and watch or try and help.”
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
“I guess you’re right, Florence.” Jake said. “Now that I look at it… I could’ve just stayed with you guys. Thanks.”
“No, don’t help me for realizing that.” She said. “Shade helped me learn that.”
“Oh… uh.” Shade said. “You’re welcome?”
And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be
Shade, Florence, and Jake were all walking slowly, trying to make their way out of this ruined environment that used to be known as The Isle of Draco. Yes, it was once a beautiful place… but it seemed like nobody learned that fighting for the wrong reasons wasn’t the right way to solve problems.
When the fight had begun, it seemed that some of the opposed battlers quickly learned after the first fatal death, the war had shown that it wasn’t a correct choice but rather a wrong one. The others, though, took away innocent lives and decided to not have the heart to feel sympathy or the mind to think clearly. The three all glanced around from one place to another, as the sun still hadn’t merged from behind the clouds. They could hear a soft rumble, knowing that it was going to rain. After Shade warned that he had felt the first drop of rain, they all quickly and calmly made their way to find a place to wait until the rain and thunder was over.
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died...
“Wow… I can’t believe what Draco Island has turned into…” Florence said, lingering through a strand of her damp hair.
“Neither can I.” Shade said. “But they did make the wrong choice to do so.”
“And me…” Jake muttered. “I wish I could’ve sensed it earlier.”
“It’s not your fault, Jake.” Florence said. “You wanted to do the right thing. Because, you know, I wanted to too.”
Shade nodded. “We all did.”
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
“But can you imagine this?” said Florence, “If everybody did care and took the time to realize, they would have decided that this would all turn into a terrible mess; they wouldn’t have done it in the first place probably.”
“I agree one hundred percent,” Shade inquired. “You know… one day, we should possibly show the world that violence is the worst choice to solve your problems. Because, whether it’s a war as big as this or just a food fight in school, aggression is always the last thing that should be in your mind…”
“Yup.” Florence and Jake nodded.
“And besides,” spoke up Jake. “If we truly prove to everyone that this war showed something that almost any person could regret, then it would probably turn this entire planet to world peace. Maybe this would never happen again.”
“If only we could… you know.” Florence said. “We might be the only eye-witnesses that observed this entire scene, but if they heard about the dangers war can cause, then we could still prove a point, even.”
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
“Then… maybe we could see that… nobody would’ve died.” Jake said. “But not for the natural causes, but the decrease of nobody losing their lives over a silly war.”
“Uh huh.” Florence said. “We should probably show that to everyone one day… Like you said, Shade. We might only be teenagers, but we could probably have a say to all of this madness.”
“Yeah… a thousand, maybe even a million, people die everyday for the wrong reasons. And the majority is always with belligerence and antagonism that form between hate.” Shade said.
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day when nobody died
“Mmhmm… one day… just one day… we could prove that not doing any of this wouldn’t cause so much madness…”
Soooo... whatcho think? Actually, this wasn't much to use as an ADJL storyline, but a true moral that speaks of the incorrect choices people like to do everyday... and how it only causes the painful deaths of innocent people. >_> ANYWAY!
While you decide on what you think, I'll be working on AUA. I just wanted another thing to post and work on. This was pretty much just because I was in a Nickelback-listening mood and I... just wanted something, well, different. Anyway. Laterrr.

If Everyone Cared
By: ADJLFanatic
Disclaimer: I own nothing in this story; ADJL and Jake belongs to Disney; the two main characters (Shade and Florence) belong to Shade Chaos; the song, “If Everyone Cared” belongs to Nickelback and the rightful producers who help created the song. All I own is the words I put in it to form this all into a one shot story.
