Yush. Raffi the weirdo decided to work on a new ADJL story. Since, well, me hasn't done a pure, no OC-filled fic in quite some time (there's actually one "OC" that I'm using in this story, but almost as if she were just some cameo). In fact, all I've been pretty much doing is using people's characters. Cause I'm NOT creative. D:
Anyway, this takes place somewhere after Homecoming (sad episode btw) and stuff. I watched the ep on Youtube. WHY?! Because I like SO can. ^^ Yeah... if you have NEVER watched the ep, I suggest you either wait until March 10 to read this OR you get your butt on YT and search. Cause this prologue already has a huge chunk of a Homecoming spoileroonie... xD;;
And no, I'm still NOT quitting AUA. I'll be working on both fics (if I can, seeing how slow my pace is) and stuff. By the way, I re-signed up on FFnet today, because I wanted a fresh start. Ah, you know how I am. D: I wanted to post this there, but I can't wait for like three forking days. So... I decided to just put it up here too. If you have an account, you can add me! *pokes new penname below* Carry on. :)

Prologue: Just Ordinary

Rose knelt down near Jake’s side, fidgeting around with the chains until they broke lose a second after. Jake faced the opposite direction, reverting back to his human form. After he had been completely relapsed in his normal appearance, he darted over to the direction, where Rose was looking over at the direction away from him, who had a worried look on her face. “Rose, why did you…?”
“I said there was only one way this could end,” replied Rose, turning around, “and this is it; with the destruction of the Huntsclan.”
Jake didn’t like the sound of that, placing his arms on top of her shoulders “But you’re one of them… That means…”
“I know what it means,” She cut off before he could say any more, looking at him straight in the eye, then took Jake’s hands to break off the embrace, “But even if we destroy the skulls, they know your human identity, Jake. They’d find your family like they did mine. This way, they’ll be safe- they’ll ALL be safe.” Rose placed a hand on his head. The whirring, chopper-like noise they had been hearing for the past few minutes had grown a bit louder, catching both their attention. Both of them, upon hearing this, jerked their heads over to see the Huntsman floating up in the air, motionless.
As soon as his purple had cape fallen down to the ground, the two worried faces never took their eyes off it until another moment, “But…” Rose heard the same resonance coming from her right hand, seeing the lime green glow that blazed brightly. She rose up her single hand up so that she would rise to the sky.
“Thank you, Jake, for everything,” She said, looking below at everyone, but mostly Jake, “I’ll never forget you.”
“Rose, no!” Jake grasped her hand upon realizing to have been experiencing this scene.
“Jake, let go, I’ll be okay. I promise,” Rose nodded reassuringly at Jake, showing his concerned thoughts with a distressed facial expression. But after hearing the words, “I promise,” he could already tell that she knew what she had been talking about. Rose was truly trying to make it so that she could prove to him that she was being certain. And until then, her gaze never left his, nodding again slowly, “I’ll be okay.”
Gradually, Jake let his hand slowly leave the touch of her’s, watching her starting to ascend to the dark-night atmosphere. Jake turned around, running over to pink up the skull that was placed on the ground, running over to where everyone was. Lao Shi was just barely returning to his human form, “We have to do something! We have to use the skulls to save her!”
Fu Dog was also staring above to see Rose, just as Jake had been doing, slowly making his way towards Jake, “Sorry, kid, but the skulls NEED to be destroyed. Their powers are just too dangerous.”
Lao Shi had done the same that Fu had done, placing a hand on this shoulder, “To use them for your own personal gain would—”
“It wouldn’t be for my personal gain, it would be for her’s!” cut off Jake, pointing to the sky, “She deserves a normal life, with a family who cares about her.” Raising the glowing skull above his head, he lowered his gaze, clamping his eyes shut as there was a sparkling beam that shone to make a sort of pattern across the rooftop, “I wish Rose was never taken by the Huntsclan!”
And in a second, it seemed as if all these strange flashbacks were going by in his head, hearing the echoed voices of her booming in his mind, the glowing color of green now getting brighter and brighter. The sky was soon clouded in the same-colored smog-like shine that soon faded away. Jake held the Aztec skull in his head, grunting as he pushed it with both of his hands then throwing it to the ground so that it would crack and shatter. Soon after that, the life-like figures had been fractured and snapped as well. Jake lowered his gaze, never turning his back to see the troubled faces of his close friends and relatives.
Jake switched to his dragon form, managing to blurt out, “Consider them destroyed!” before disappearing in the night sky…
And until this day, that moment never stopped creeping Jake’s inner subconscious. It seemed as if he were clouded with guilt that wouldn’t stop pestering him until he did something about Rose. Even through all of the recent tasks he had been doing and the lonely days he had spent at school when Trixie and Spud weren’t around, it seemed that he was turning to actually believe what Lao Shi had told him.
Sure, the obligations DID come before the blissful desires you would long to have, but in his heart, he might sometimes also felt that maybe he should’ve wished for something else- maybe try and be even a bit more specific in his wish? Then he remembers that regrets were one thing you really should avoid, for it is a waste of your own life if you plan on fixing the things you have been repentant of. Had he been really taking in all of these corny advices that Lao Shi always gave him? Maybe… Were they actually that helpful and intriguing enough to make your mind wander?
Trixie and Spud have been noticing the behavior Jake had been carrying out. In fact, they had been completely perplexed, whether it was when he started to ponder on thoughts about Rose and make his mind linger then come to the point when he blamed himself to even the times when Jake acted as if he didn’t even know about her or that it was all some monotonous blur within his contemplations. As his best friends, though, they completely understood the fact that he just went through something that is probably, most likely, to be hypothetically unlikely to other teens his age. After all, living a dragon’s life was never said to be entirely easy…
Ever since Rose had permanently transferred overseas, it also seemed that he had been starting to lose hope of ever stumbling across the love of his life again. Once you think about it, she didn’t specifically tell him where she was moving… She just said it was somewhere overseas- nothing more, nothing less. Jake had a bit more assumptions to go over whenever he thought about it. You can trust him when he says that his mentality is absolutely bonkers.
Generally, it just didn’t appear to essentially be the most unsurpassed thing to consider in regards to that topic. But even if it had only been so long, Jake never did abundantly lose his determination to search for Rose again… even if he would spend his life doing it. He would do completely anything to get in contact with her and let her know what happened, also facing through the possible consequences. Nevertheless, there was, constantly, this part of him that just wants to see her yet again- badly.

End Prologue
Whee! So that just about ends the first part. Heh, trying to get the quotes exact was hard (for me). xD So anyway, I'll try and get to work on this again, since chapter one won't be too much of extremely hard work. :D
Anyway. Yeah. I hope you liked it so far. PLEASE tell me. Cause I haven't written a pure fic in months... *shot*

P.S. ^ That name never gets old. xDD Oh, and my FFnet penname is subject to change. I sorta found the one I came up with to be lame. D:
