For your information, MADISEN, tile doesn’t catch on fire for one. Second, the manor doesn’t burn down for reasons of… Well, you’ll find out. :fup: So… here. Yaaay. YOU PEOPLE HAVE SUCH SHORT COMMENTS LIKE YOU DON’T EVEN READ.
Chapter 7: Deathtrap
“So, you are the Luvia Bloodmire who we’ve been hearing so much about in the Huntsclan.” Jake said with interest and curiosity.
“So I am. And you are the American Dragon who almost burned down my manor.” muttered Luvia with slight anger.
“Almost?” Shade asked. Luvia just looked upward and began to explain about it.
“I am, indeed, in the Huntsclan for my superior skills of intelligence and monster creation. Florence and Rose, if you’ve heard of those people in the Huntsclan during the time of the Escapade of Magic when I joined the Huntsclan, they were taken here as part of ‘military’, or kidnapped by other Huntsclan. These members who were abducted were killed to help me morph the bodies of them into beasts, and you have seen what my creations have become; true power. Alas, they are not perfect because you could kill them, but however, they possessed the skill to stopping elements in their state of being dead by sacrificing their souls. All the monsters you killed up there, old Huntsclan members, sacrificed themselves to stop the fire before it could damage my estate.” Luvia finally told them. Everyone was just staring at her in shock.
“All that blood was… the killings?” asked Rose in horror. Luvia just nodded as she turned to them.
“Your name… and all those monsters… you just killed off all those Huntsclan! They’ve already been kidnapped, isn’t that bad enough!?” yelled Florence. Luvia didn’t answer, but turned to another pathway and pushed a button.
“I finally got the perfect monster… why don’t you four try to beat them? They’re unstoppable.” taunted Luvia as she left and the bars rose so that they couldn’t leave again.
“We’ve had it bad enough here, lady, sheesh!” grumbled Shade as he saw two giant monsters come out from behind where Luvia was standing once she explained the Huntsclan secret.
“We can take them if we split into teams.” Rose explained. She took another breath because she was about to make teams, but Shade and Florence had already run off to one monster and Jake ran to the other. “So much for that…”
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Raffi looked around the general battlefield after Aruella was sent flying back.
”Joe!?” She called out, not seeing him or Long Feng nearby.
“Right here, Raffi!” answered Joe, who was not too far off with Long Feng from her. Long Feng was using his green flames attack and Joe was blocking it with his magic.
“These Huntsclan are easy to beat!” Trixie said, laughing slicing at every Huntsclan member that had circled around her.
“I dunno… fighting with fans was much easier in the Spirit World.” grumbled Spud as he quickly dropped his fan. “Oh, forget it!” He pulled out a few kunai knives and blocked attacks as well as throwing a few shots.
“It’s like some of these guys aren’t even trying!” Ben said, laughing and flying down closer to a Huntsclan member as he picked him up with his feet talons. Once he was flying over a line of them, he threw the Huntsclan member in his clutches into them so that they toppled over.
“Either they’re not trying, or…” began Leah until she saw Sapphire, who was now in front of her instead of Huntsdeath, turn into her dragon form, but still was concealed with her cloak and not mistaken for a good magical creature. Long Feng did the same thing by turning into his true, Dark Dragon identity.
“You’re the Dark Dragon!?” Joe shockingly called out, taking a worried step back, but still shooting attacks at the dragon.
“You aren’t a match for my skills, puny wizard.” The Dark Dragon told Joe as he breathed in a large breath until he shot out a mega, black fire blast at him.
“Hey, hey, watch it, AAH!!!” yelled Joe as the fire ball imploded on him. Everyone stopped their battling and watched the black fire swerving into Joe. The Dark Dragon quickly turned back into Long Feng because his huge height change would be obvious.
“This is why you don’t defy the Dark Dragon…” muttered Long Feng to the boy so that no one could hear. He turned away as Joe fell to the ground with a thud after the fire shrouded him.
(A/N: Now you won’t see much of this big war for a while, so don’t ask where it went. You’ll see why soon enough.)
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“Man, these things are ugly, but they sure are tough!” Jake complained as he flew back a few inches and scratched at the large monster. Yet, it had no effect.
”Aiya!” yelled Rose as she swiped her Huntstaff all around the large beast, but this didn’t have much of an effect either.
“I wonder how they are doing…” muttered Jake in thought, turning to the other monster that was dueling Shade and Florence.
Shade was shooting ice all over the monsters feet.
“Alright, now let me get the annoying arms!” called out the little imp, barely dodging a punch from the monster. Once he dodged it, he grabbed the wrist and covered the whole arm, hand included, with ice so that it was dead weight.
“Alright, get the other arm while I start to attack!” Flo called back to the floating Shade. She began to shoot arrows all over the monster and waited for Shade to do his finishing move after he froze the other arm.
“What on earth are they doing???” wondered Rose as she avoided a kick from her and Jake’s monster. Shade had his eyes set on a barrel of water at one corner of the room. But it wasn’t water… Nevertheless, Shade controlled it to rise and cover all of the arrows over the monster and Florence pulled out a bomb. Once she lit it, she flipped over the monster and laid the bomb on top of it.
“Quickly! Blow it up in case he shakes it off!” Florence commanded Shade. He nodded and floated back a few feet, but aimed carefully with his index finger on the bomb. An ice dart shot from it and on impact of the bomb, make it explode and kill the monster.
“I see, we need to work together!” Jake finally realized and looked at Rose, giving a wink. She quickly winked back and ran over to him.
“So, how ARE we gonna beat this thing?” asked Rose as she scratched her head. Jake scratched his scaly chin. Once he knew what to do, he whispered his thought into Rose’s ear. She nodded and they ran off to get their plan into place.
(A/N: Ok, I couldn’t think of anything for them to do, so I just kinda cut it out. They beat their monster, YAY, let’s move on. XP)
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“M-My babies!” Luvia called out in shock, speeding over to the battle ground that was once of her two greatest creations. She lowered her head in dismay slowly.
“Yeah, freaky lady, we beat them!” taunted Jake. He turned back into his human form and eyed the woman awkwardly.
“Well… if they couldn’t kill you… maybe I can!” began to say Luvia as her head rose and her eyes jolted pure red and her pupils vanished. Her body disappeared from her clothing right after she vanished.
“Where’d she go!?” wondered Shade in worry, looking around. She appeared in front of them again in the same spot, but she was in a beast-like form. She was encased in black shadow and she got bigger.
“Oh… That girl was actually a beast inside…” Florence said to herself in mid-thought. She pulled out a dark spear from behind her and swiped at the gang of four. They all jumped back just in time, but once she quickly swung again; they got smacked to the farthest wall.
“Come on, wimps! I’m pretty sure you can do a LITTLE better than this…” Luvia said, growling quietly. Jake was the first up and called out,
“Dragon up!” The monster quickly pressed a button on a wall.
“I don’t think so…” muttered Luvia as she watched Jake’s dragon up failing. She chuckled and charged at them right when the other three got back on their feet.
“It’s ok Jake; you still have your powers to use.” Shade old Jake as he flew into the air and spiraled behind the monster. He tried to use his pressure points on her, but it didn’t work and he was smacked onto the ceiling before he slid off and fell to the floor.
“Well, that was a bust. Better attack anyway.” Rose muttered with a shrug. She sped ahead and helped Shade back to his feet when she dodged an attack from Luvia and got to where the little imp had fallen.
“How annoying…” grumbled Shade as he raised his hands. He pushed them forward and ice shot at the black monster. Luvia roared as she swooped her left hand to shatter the ice before it could hurt her. This left her guard open for Jake to breathe fire all over her back.
“GRAH!!” growled Luvia as she turned to them and began to charge at Jake and Florence. This left another opportunity and Rose took it to shoot a laser blast from her Huntstaff. “Stop that!!” barked the beast. She thought of an idea to prevent this attack on her.
“What is she up to?” Florence wondered as she and Jake ran over to Shade and Rose. She had her hands together and eyes closed. You could see some spiritual energy surrounding and escaping her body as if she was preparing for an attack.
“Ectoplasm!” chanted Luvia as she slowly embraced for her attack and let her hands slowly toll upward. Another of this monster appeared right before their eyes, but a lighter color like the ectoplasm energy.
“Alright, I’m sick of this ‘splitting up’, so let’s just take her on, huh?” suggested Jake. The other three nodded and charged at the monsters. Their attacks consisted of the usual fire attacks from Jake and a few karate, Rose with her Huntstaff and karate as well, Flo with her arrows, bombs, and spare Huntstaff, and Shade with his element-based moves, but this was getting predictable for the two Luvia Bloodmires.
“They’re getting used to our attacks; we have to think outside of the box!” Rose said as the four of them jumped back from an attack.
“I’ve got it. I may not have my dragon form, but I still have my dragon skills, so this is how it’s going down…” slowly explained Jake as he indistinctly whispered to his pals. They all nodded and Jake put his hands together and blue energy swerved around him and his friends.
“No, you won’t get another attack on us!” The two Luvias said simultaneously. They sped to the four of them and attacked with a claw swipe, but they just faded as if they were holograms. Suddenly, many more of them were all around the room, all powering up an attack.
“ARGH!” growled the duplicate Luvia.
“Dragon doppelgangers.” grumbled the original Luvia. They both split up and flew around the room, quickly terminating all of the Jakes, Florences, Roses, and Shades that were all around the room, but none of them were the real thing!
“What!? Where could they be!!??” Luvias #1 and 2 called out in worry, looking around the whole room. They immediately looked up to the ceiling once they heard the battle cry of their attack. The four of them were stuck up to the roof because Shade had all of their feet covered with ice.
“Hi there.” mocked Jake with a grin. They shot an arrow that was tipped with ice, fire on the back, and covered in green, Huntstaff plasma. Once it shot through the original Luvia, she held her stomach where the powerful arrow landed in her and slowly fell to her back. Her evil form dissolved and she turned back to her human disguise. Her ectoplasm duplicate also vanished back into her spirit.
“You… haven’t heard the last of… me…” Luvia began to mutter out as her last words before she died. Her body vanished and left nothing but her dress and a chest where her head was.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“I can’t believe this is finally the end!” breathed Shade with relief as he unfroze the ice on their feet so that they all went back to the ground. He opened up the chest and a silver, glimmering, and shiny key came out.
“That must be they key to the Mirror Tower next door.” Florence told him.
“Mind teleporting us out then?” Jake asked, spreading a wide grin. Shade gave him a good grin right back.
“I DO mind, but I’ll do it.” He answered, looking at the shiny key and laughing. Shade pixilated them all and they all flew out of the basement lab.
Once they repixilated to the front of the manor, they looked up at the night sky, then back at the manor.
“Luvia was right… The manor stopped burning. That means those people gave their lives to be zombies and gave their souls away to do this…” Rose muttered, thinking about the blood of the lab again.
“We’re never going in there EVER again.” answered Florence quickly. The others nodded and they walked to the close-by tower that was locked up. As Shade put his key through the lock and opened the door, Jake had realized something.
“Hey… I still can’t turn into a dragon.” He muttered, looking at his body.
“Yeah… And look over there, the sky is… different.” pointed out Rose as she pointed to the yellow-ish part of the nighttime sky.
“There’s no time to notice these things, we have to hurry and stop Zant!” Shade called back. Jake and Rose nodded and ran up to Florence and Shade. They began their tall run up the giant tower to await more shock to come.

Chapter 8: The Mirror of Spirits
“My goodness, this place is so high!” complained Florence, wiping sweat off her forehead.
“Come on, we’re almost there!” Shade said, pleading for them to move faster.
“Easy for you to say, YOU’RE FLOATING!!” yelled Rose at him.
“You don’t have to get all snippy about it…” answered Shade. Once they were actually at the top of the spiral tower, they saw many chains covering a large slab of brick.
“What’s up with that?” Jake wondered, looking at the rock. Rose and Florence were too busy looking at the six poles at the top that represented something. But it was odd; one of them was only ¾ of the way complete.
“I don’t remember chains being there. Usually the light from the mirror would shine on it so we could go into the Spirit World.” Shade muttered, looking at the chains that were attached to the sides of the mirror chamber.
“I guess Luvia or someone wanted to keep this place ultra secret.” Flo suggested, shrugging slowly. They then all looked at the block that was coming from the sandy floor and up slightly with steps going up.
“The mirror will be up here, let’s go.” Shade said, bouncing around with his floats until he reached the block. He looked at the Mirror of Spirits to realize something was terribly, terribly wrong. Shade’s eye that wasn’t covered by his stone crown widened and he quickly gasped.
“What’s up, Shade?” asked Jake as the others walked up the steps. They, too, were in shock to see the mirror had been shattered, leaving only one, large piece of the mirror. Shade’s shock slowly turned to anger as he made a noise of annoyance and his face got angry, his mouth only slightly open.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Eventually past his madness, Shade was down in front of the broken mirror and his head held low, as if he was bowing to it or something along the lines of this. However, Jake, Rose, and Florence were observant enough to see that over the top of the poles (with the rocks on top with little symbols) had five white beings over them, sages. Shade also looked up at them too, but still kept his hand on part of the mirror.
“A dark entity lurks in the Huntsclan… it houses an evil power…” The sages slowly chanted together to the four heroes and heroines.
“You who are guided by fate…” began one of the sages, talking alone, “You who possess the special mark of the gods… hear us.”
“As command of the gods, we sages have guarded the Mirror of Sages since ancient times.” a different sage explained as he put his left hand up to hid chest, around his heart area.
“You seek it… but the Mirror of Spirits has been fragmented by mighty magic.” the third sage told them and raised his right hand to point at the broken mirror on the pedestal.
“That magic is a dark magic that only he possesses…” said the fourth sage, raising his hands into the air, but not over his head, just in front of him. He turned his view to the fifth sage, who was turned around and showing his back to Shade and the others.
“His name is…” began the penultimate sage, turning around slowly and putting his hands up, but below his shoulders and up near his sides, as if he was preparing to embrace someone, “Tudnahds (Tud-in-ads), or as you know him… Huntsdad.”
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“He was once a leader of a band of thieves and hunters who invaded the land in hopes of establishing dominion over the Magical Community.” A sage told them as a vision appeared in their head from the sage’s power. It was fire surrounding a man, Huntsdad, on a horse.
“He was known as a demon hunter, an evil-magic wielder renowned for his ruthlessness…” another sage told them as he and his horse appeared as a shadow. His horse went up only on its hind hooves and whinnied.
“But he was blind…” said the first sage as the while vision faded to pitch blackness. Another vision appeared in their heads of the past. The six sages were all around the slab of stone, unchained, with Huntsdad chained up by his wrists so he was open to a stomach attack.
“In all his fury and might, he was blind to any danger, and thus was he exposed, subdued, and brought to justice.” continued the sage who made this vision appear in their minds. It showed Huntsdad glaring at a sage who was in the middle and in front of the mirror. With his powers, he raised a while, shining sword without needing to touch it. It showed it’s markings to Huntsdad before flying and stabbing into his stomach. The last thing you could hear from him was a grunt of anguish and he was lying dead, only held up by the chains and the spiritual sword coming out from his stomach.
“Yet…” muttered the second sage, showing a vision closer to his left hand. It was where the Huntsclan marking was, but it was only the head, for the rest of his markings went around his body and were unseen. It shined brightly with the same mark that Florence had, the special properties of it. He clenched his hand, showing his was alive, and grunted to look up at the sages. Huntsdad slowly chuckled and took a breath of air and quickly got up by yelling. He was trying to pull on the chains and break free. The sage that stabbed him gasped and had a shocked face with the other sages.
“By some divine prank, he, too, had been blessed with the chosen power of the gods.” explained the first sage as the hand with the mark broke the chains and he showed the sages his mark that glimmered brightly. The middle sage gasped again when he saw it. At this point, Huntsdad was trying to break free of the chain on his right hand. He was pulling at it so vigorously that when it broke, he went flying at the middle sage and punched him powerfully, so powerfully that he dissolved into nothing. (A/N: If you don’t know, reread chapter 4.)
“Ooohhhh….” gasped the other sages at this sight. Huntsdad just grinned evilly and began to cackle. With his left hand, he slowly took the sword that he had gotten stabbed through him out of his gut without any pain. As he continued to cackle, he looked at the side of the chamber where three sages were and opened his mouth, showing he had no fear to keep killing. The two sages on the opposite side looked at the Mirror of Spirits and thought of an idea. They both put their hands up to the mirror, one with their left arm, the other with their right, and the mirror activated, going back very slightly and shinning on the rock slab. A black portal with a while outline appeared from the mirror and moved around to show it was working.
“Ooohhhh…. UUGGHHH….” grunted Huntsdad as the force of the mirror sucked in the sword he was holding into the realm and he continued to struggle, the hand where he let go of the sword still up in the air. His last of groaning was when he pixilated into black pixels and flew into the portal. The mirror quickly shut off and the portal vanished; the mirror had been back to normal. They all just stared at the mirror and continued to gasp in worry in the event that took place. The last of the vision was the mask of the killed sage, eyes and mouth closed shut.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Their vision was laid on the broken tablet on top of the pole. The sages all had their hands to their faces in dismay and anguish.
“His abiding hatred and lust for power turned to purest malice…” said a sage, his face full or sorrow and very sad as he moaned with sadness.
“Perhaps that evil power has been passed on to Zant…” muttered another sage, his face scrunched up with thought, but at the same time dismay.
“You’re just now figuring out where Zant got his power!? It’s far too late…” Shade mumbled sadly, his head held low behind the broken mirror and he was still sitting on it.
“Only the true leader of the Spirits can utterly destroy the Mirror of Spirits… so Zant could merely break it into pieces.” the main sage told them, seeing that they were still worried about the mirror.
“Once broken by magic, the Mirror of Spirits became fragments, which even now lie hidden across the land.” explained a different sage. From this information, Shade looked up at them curiously.
“One is in the snowy mountain heights…” the first sage told them, pointing to where it was.
“One is in an ancient grove…” said the second and third sages of light, pointing to behind them to where it may be.
“And one is in the heavens.” finally said the final fourth and fifth sages, putting their arms up in front of them and pointing up.
“You who have been sent to stop this war... You should be able to gather the three pieces…” a sage told them as Shade floated to Florence and put his hands on him, still looking at the sage, “But you must be prepared, for a dangerous power resides in those fragments.” Shade looked at Florence, Jake looked at Rose, and they all nodded.
“W-Wait a minute!” quickly asked Jake. The sages looked down at him and awaited his question.
“What is your desire?”
“You sent Huntsdad to the SPIRIT World???” wondered Jake, believing this was a very idiotic move.
“Not quite. See, the mirror can also link to another realm, the Twilight Realm. This still wasn’t a very good move on our end, but it was or last resort.” the main sage told them.
“Now go… collect the pieces of the mirror and face the root of the evil.” said the final sage. The four of them nodded and walked back down the stairs. The five sages looked at the place where their dead brother would stand and grimly vanished away.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Once they had just left the Mirror Chamber, the shut the door over and looked at one another.
“I can’t believe Huntsdad is like that, even if he’s a demon.” Florence said with worry. Shade and everyone else nodded.
”We don’t really have time for that though. We should find somewhere to sleep before we set out to the snowy peaks; that’s where the first shard is.” Shade said again. They went through the small forest that they were in before and found a cave in the clearing.
“Let me make sure nothing’s in there.” said Jake as he breathed fire all inside the cave to luminate it. When nothing was seen and the fire was gone, they all stepped in, lay down on the hard, rocky ground and nodded off. But in their sleep, the whole area was shrouded in the twilight.
“There they are…” said a weak voice as he floated into the cave. He was sitting on a rock and waited for them to wake up. As he heard Rose stirring in her sleep, he saw that she was the first to wake up.
“AAAHHHH!!!” she yelled, looking at the man in front of them. “Who are you!?” Rose demanded. This yelling woke up the others and they gasped, looking at the person. He sighed slowly and stood up.
“I am the Dragon King.” Councilor King told them. He didn’t look like it, however. He was still in his dragon form as usual, but he looked a lot like a Twili monster.
“Wha… What happened to you?” Shade asked in shock. Councilor King floated back a little and ushered them to come outside of the cave. Once they followed, the looked around and realized everything was in twilight.
“It… it all looks like the sky that we saw earlier. Once we left the Mirror Chamber…” explained Florence, looking at the pixels flying everywhere from the ground and adding the whole place to eeriness.
“When all the twilight rolled in, all magical creatures that were in their forms reverted to this type of creatures and put under slavery. Those who weren’t in their forms were unable to turn into their magic forms, so they were vulnerable to being captured. I was the only one who escaped the attack on the Isle of Draco, and needed to inform you four.” explained Councilor King.
“Did you see the battle on the large battlefield?” asked Jake, looking from the sky back to him. King nodded slowly and then opened his eyes.
“We were shown what happened as soon as the battle was over. I’ll explain it to you as clearly as I can.” King said. He took a breath of air and began his tale.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
(A/N: The rest of this is narrated by Councilor King unless said otherwise but takes place during the battle right after Joe was hit with the DD’s blast.)
Joe was steaming with the attack from Long Feng and slowly opened his eyes, looking at Raffi who was the only person next to him.
“Many people died in the battle and one boy was forced to give his life after an attack on who we believe is the Dark Dragon.”
Joe sighed and closed his eyes, tears running down his face.
“Raffi…” Joe muttered slowly.
“I… I…” He continued as he opened his eyes halfway.
“… See ya later.” Joe finally said, closing his eyes and his body vanished. Raffi gasped and started to cry, putting her right hand to her mouth with shock and what happened.
“That one person was opened as a twilight portal form the Dark Dragon’s magic and it continued to move on, changing their forms and reducing their powers, and left them open to captivity. God knows where they are now.”
Armies of Huntsclan, still in their black robes marched along the battleground with all of their magical enemies they walked through factories where some were put, and others were just stuck on slave camps.
“They gave up on hope in the war. The Huntsclan believes they have finally won, seeing that they took over South America right before the battle, and the North America is covered in twilight.”
“You four have a very important task on the world… remember that…”

Yep, we finally get to the adventure! And off we goooo.
Chapter 9: Wandering Spirits
“Dragon King, where will you be when we are doing these things?” asked Shade, looked around. “There isn’t anywhere to hide very well.”
“I’m going to stay in this cave. You can see me before you go back to the Mirror Chamber after getting all the mirror shards.” King told them. He floated slowly into the cave.
“But wait, you’ll be normal again when we get rid of the twilight, right?” Flo wondered, looking at his Twili face.
“No. You won’t even be able to get rid of all the twilight until we win this war. Of course… there are three spirits in the North who can fix some of the twilight. But even then, Twili monsters in the light would be the same and anywhere a Huntsclan member goes will turn to twilight. Be careful.” He told them as he sighed slowly.
“Thanks…” answered Jake slowly and the four of them grimly walked farther into the twilight to the North, looking back at the cave once more before moving on.
“Shade, could you get the map out?” Rose asked. He nodded and this third arm came out with the map in his hand. But they all realized something about the map. It was marked with three Xs that were probably the location of the spirits.
“Councilor King must’ve marked it when we weren’t noticing. I hate to leave him back there, but we will get this war in order.” declared Shade immediately, pounding his right fist into his left palm.
“We know, we will.” said Florence, smiling brightly. She picked up the map and the other four crowded around it.
“So, we should keep heading North for that spirit, then west, then east, because that spirit lives in a gave and is closest to two destinations that we need to go to and may need to go to.” explained Rose, pointing out the areas.
“The old Huntsclan grounds?” Jake wondered.
“Yeah, see we may be able to find the other person with the special marking of the gods and see what side he or she’s on.” Florence told him, looking at the marking on her right hand.
“Then let’s go.” Shade quickly responded, putting the map away by shooting with his third hand at the map so that it pixilated and went to his secret inventory.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“So the map said this place is in a forest, I believe.” muttered Rose, looking at the borderline of a large forest.
“No, I think it’s a desert.” Jake told her sarcastically as he was the first to walk into the forest. Rose glared at him before walking into the forest as well. Shade and Florence looked at each other oddly and shrugged. They were the last to enter the twilit forest.
“Hey… this place is creepy… can we leave?” asked Shade, shuddering worriedly.
“Oh, come on. The spirits live in springs of water, it’s not ALL forest.” assured Flo as she smiled and nodded. After they had been going around the forest for a while, they came to the center of the area. The large spring had a floating ball of energy with little bits of light.
“That must the changed spirit.” Shade realized as they all walked onto the very shallow water and walked up to the ball of energy.
“O’ Chosen Ones… my light has been scattered around this forest but been collected by an executive Huntsclan member. You must collect this light to remove the twilight here in the forest and in the snowy mountains.” the spirit ball told them.
“Where would this executive be?” asked Rose as she put her hand up in an awkward position.
“Just due east from here. He is carrying a bow, so he should be in the trees and could attack on surprise.” the spirit told them. “Now go…”
After this was said, they had all gone off and searched around the forest as a group.
“Hey… I feel like we’re being watched…” Jake quickly said, pulling up his hand as he was the leader. Everyone stopped and looked around for an archer. At that time, a large arrow whisked through the air straight at Shade. It was from far away but no one still noticed.
“Wait a minute…” thought Shade. He immediately turned around and pulled up his right hand. Right when he did this, the arrow his palm was aiming at pixilated away.
“Whoa, where did that come from?” asked Florence as she eyed the imp who was looking at where the arrow was shot at him. Shade didn’t answer and sent an ice dart at the tree where he was and the dead body of the Huntsclan member fell out of the tree.
“Gotcha.” Shade taunted as he laughed like his dark self oddly. The body vanished and the twilight surrounding the forest slowly changed back to normal. But the sky was covered in cloud.
“Seems the war is still upon us…” muttered Rose. They all walked out of the thickness of the forest and into the clearing where the energy ball of light had vanished with only the shallow spring there. The four of them saw a drop of water rise into the air and a spiritual centaur appeared with its ball of energy in the hands of the human half.
“You have done well to restore my forest back to normal as well as the snowy peaks, but to reach your first destination, the snowy peaks, the two other spirits must be returned to normal.” the spiritual centaur told them.
“Is that all?” Flo asked him.
“Do not worry, I will not leave you empty handed. If you are weary and need energy, you can restore fatigue and stamina if you step into my spring. Also, one of you will get grassy powers for the remainder of this war.” he told him. He looked directly at Rose and green energy rose from around her.
“Thank you, great spirit.” thanked Rose as she bowed her head in gratitude.
“Also, take this. The other spirits will give you the remaining of these.” said the man. A slab of stone arose from the water and floated to Rose’s hands. “It’s a Fused Shadow, and it’s powers will become clear once you gather the other two.” everyone nodded and Shade took the Fused Shadow with his third hand. The others followed Rose as they walked toward the next spirit area. The centaur watched them until they were out of sight and slowly faded away.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“Look, we’re very close.” pointed out Flo as she saw the twilight ahead.
“This is where I get to help you all.” Shade explained with a large grin on his face.
“How will you help? Can’t we just walk into the twilight?” asked Jake out of curiosity.
“Not quite. I can’t really explain it, but… oh never mind. Are we ready to go into the twilight?” asked Shade. The other three nodded and Shade slowly floated into the curtain of twilight in front of them, making a ripple on the outside of it. From out of the curtain came Shade’s third hand, but it was very large and grabbed the three of them and then pulled them into the twilight.
“AAHHH!!!” the three of them called out of shock until they reached the inside of the twilight.
“Ok, I can tell we’re here; the terrain has changed.” Rose noticed and she was right. It was all rocky plains and no sign of grass or water, except one spring up ahead where the spirit could be seen. The only thing different was the large volcano coming from out of the ground.
“Come… come to my spring…” the spirit ball told them. They nodded to each other and sped over.
“We know about what we need to do; where is the Huntsclan member?” asked Jake as he eyed the strange ball of light with the smaller balls of deep light mixed with him.
“Over there… inside the active volcano.” he told them. The four of them took a very large gulp.
“ACTIVE volcano…?” Jake asked as a double-take of worry.
“Yes… that’s what he said. And we should go down there now.” Shade answered before the spirit was able to.
“But beware, he is full on about power and carries around a sacred and giant spear.” warned the spirit. They all nodded before Shade pixilated them into the volcano right at the top. It was like a spiral staircase without steps and the middle was the boiling lava.
“There he is!” realized Flo, pointing him out. Shade shot an ice dart at him, but right when he shot it, it melted to water and fell into the lava. Once it rose as steam, the Huntsclan member saw they were there and ran up to them.
“Well, I’m useless.” Shade muttered, his eyes half open with annoyance and floating behind everyone else. The others sped down a few spirals and started attacking at the Huntsclan member.
“HYAH!” grunted the Huntsclan member as he swung his giant spear and smacked the three of them against the wall of the volcano.
“Oh great, this guy IS strong.” grumbled Rose angrily as she punched the guy in the face, “Aiya!”
“Wait, I think I can help…” Jake muttered, watching Rose and the Huntsclan member dueling it out. He put his hands together and shot a few fireballs at the spear-holding man to the edge of the area.
“Whoa, whoa…” the Huntsclan member groaned as he was only barely on the edge with his one foot. Florence charged at him and pushed him off the edge, which sent him plummeting into the lava. This caused the active volcano to erupt right into the air and blocked their exit.
“This could be a problem…” muttered Rose, looking up with the other three as the area turned back to normal. Suddenly, they were all sent out of the volcano and back at the spring.
“Great job, Shade!” congratulated Florence as she patted his back.
“That wasn’t me.” answered Shade as he shrugged.
“It was I.” said the spirit of the spring. Once they turned around to see him, his form was a phoenix with it’s talons on the ball of light.
“Oh… thanks for it then.” Jake said, smiling.
“You are welcome. And now that you have recovered my former form, I shall give the American Dragon more fire power.” the phoenix said. He flapped his wings a lot in Jake’s direction and the wind gave him more power.
“Thank you great spirit.” thanked Jake once more, bowing his head. With his power, arose a slab of rock which was the second Fused Shadow.
“Now go off to the watery lake where the final spirit sleeps.” he said, vanishing back into his spring. Shade pixilated them all off to the curtain to the next twilight realm in the forest section.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
“Are you ready to go into the twilight?” Shade asked.
“We sure are, now hurry up!” demanded Jake. Shade just grumbled and floated into the twilight curtain, making the ripples before his third hand came out and snatched them.
Their new destination was a dried up lake, but they didn’t know it was a lake because there was no water in it and they had never been there before. There was a little puddle in the middle of the lake area and a cave that was in an area that was unable to reach without all that water.
“What happened here?” Florence asked no-one-in-particular and ran down the dried up lake until she reached the wet puddle.
“Well, I don’t know, but if we want to see the spirit we need to get the water back.” pointed out Rose. Everyone else agreed and looked around.
“Wait, here may be something.” quickly stated Jake. He ran to where a frozen waterfall was closer up to the dried up lake.
“Try to breath fire on it.” Rose suggested. Jake nodded and used all his fire power on the ice, but it wouldn’t change.
“Stand back, I can break through it.” immediately said Shade as he floated in front of them. His hands went up slowly and the whole waterfall rumbled with Shade’s power flowing through it until… the ice shattered and it all turned to water.
“GAH!” called out Flo in shock of all this rushing water. Shade still had his eyes closed and hands in front of the waterfall, but when the giant wave of water came at them, they were pixilated to safety right where the water began as a lake.
“Nice one.” Jake complimented as he grinned. Shade just laughed and gave a grin right back at him.
“I may be smaller and an imp, but I’m still strong. Now let’s get to the spirit.” Shade told them as he floated over the water and slowly made them an ice bridge to cross. Once they all got over and entered the cave, they saw the ball of spirit floating over a bit of water while they were on a grassy stand.
“I am the final spirit and you must beat the Huntsclan member who dwells behind the waterfall. He was frozen back there, but now he can be destroyed. His weapon is a katana and instead of focusing on just skill or power, he keeps his abilities well-rounded.” the spirit explained in a long speech.
“We won’t fail you.” Shade said, smiling and waving slightly. They all walked out of the spirit’s cave and turned to the waterfall. Many rafts suddenly appeared from below the water that made a path there.
“With the spirit’s short power, he must’ve done this.” Rose clarified for those who lacked the logic to know this, which would be Jake. Soon after they had gotten across the terribly long lake, they saw the Huntsclan member in the cave behind the waterfall, but he was still frozen over.
“I think we should give him a fighting chance.” Florence suggested. Jake nodded and breathed fire all over him, which caused the ice to melt.
“Thank you for that…” the Huntsclan member said, but he swiped at them. This caused them all to jump back, “But now I must kill you.”
“We’ll just see about that.” taunted Shade as he formed two ice swords by controlling lake water to get from his hands and freeze over. The two of them dueled and clashed swords in attacking, but Shade was floating to be with this Huntsclan member’s height.
“You are pretty impressive… for an imp…” said the Huntsclan man as he and Shade struggled with their swords clashed together. Shade pulled his swords away and tried to attack with a jump shot, but the Huntsclan member was able to block with his katana. His defense was so strong, once Shade’s two ice swords hit the katana, they shattered.
“Shade!” called out Flo in fear.
“Looks like I’m the impressive one now! Prepare for death!” yelled the Huntsclan man as he raised his sword and left his chest open for attack. Florence took this quick opportunity and shot an arrow at him, giving him his own death. After this arrow shot in the stomach, he fell to the side into the waterfall and drowned down to the bottom of the deep lake.
“Thank you Florence.” Shade said slowly as he floated up and hugged her tightly. She giggled after this and patted his head.
“Ok, I think we can go now.” she just told him. While still hugging his girlfriend, Shade pixilated them back to the front of the cave as everything turned back to normal. Inside the cave, no one seemed to be there until something appeared in the water. They all looked over and saw the spirit fly out of the water. He appeared as a serpent with the ball of energy in his mouth.
“O’ Chosen Ones… you have done well to defeat the monster and get rid of all the twilight as you can, and I will reward you with the Fused Shadow.” the serpent said as the final Fused Shadow flew out of the water and was taken by Shade’s third arm.
“Hey, mind if we stay here the night before we set out to get the mirror shards?” Jake requested.
“Yes. I must also give Shade more power in water.” the spirit said. Some water flew from the spring and surrounded Shade until he was given the extra power.
“Now rest. I’m sure you’ll need it.”
The nest day they all got up and didn’t look at the entrance. Once everyone was up and not a word was said, Florence was the first to turn around and began to walk, but was cut off by a tall figure in front of him. This made her gasp and look up at him. He made a squawking-like noise and Florence just stared into his evil, dreaded face…
Zant.
