Hah. Zant was creepy. And I mean wow. It kinda made me go 'haha' on some specific times, but for the most part, it was just shocking and extremely scary. Ohmygee. Didn't expect to see Trixie and Spud there too. Yeowzahs. XD *sing song* Shade is a descendant of Twili. OOOOOOOH. He's like a monstah, but not really... HAHAHA hard to explain but... MMMHMMM. Shade has a very complicating past. I mean, I understand it all, but it's so wowww. I dunno, like, some childhood or past you wouldn't exactly expect. Zant is still a childy pants. NOPOOKIE HE EESH. EEHEE. And he's also a chicken. BAWK SQUAWK. I mean... *runs away from him* XD Anyway... yeeaah. I loved this chapter. Can't wait for the pure action! DX Update before I go to get my fifth gym badge thingy in my Pokemon Sapphire gameyy. XD
Finally not ‘preoccupied’ enough to work on this. Time for a very big chapter. So don’t leave a pointless comment please, it’s really important.
Chapter 15: Usurper King Zant’s Wrath
Zant sustained the position of leaving back and not doing anything until after a moment. When he shot up, he loudly grunted and his helmet was already back on.
“My god had only one wish…” said Zant as he continued to stare at the gang until he finished his statement and vanished quickly. They had a feeling he was back up the stairs on the throne, and when they turned around, he was.
“To merge shadow and light… and make darkness!” Zant told them. He slowly floated into the air without moving any part of his body. When he was as high as the top of the throne, everyone vanished off except Rose. While watching him, the vision all around turned dark and Zant twirled his arms around until they reached his stomach and then he shot his arms out to his sides, hands at shoulder height. When this happened, red encryptions appeared on the wall behind him.
“What are you doing…?” wondered Rose as she looked around. After Zant did this, they were in a swamp area where Zant was floating over poisonous waters. Zant shot laser spheres at Rose and she quickly rolled out of the way.
“Whoa!” she yelled out in shock, ”I’ve got to bring him close so I can hit him.” Rose thought as she pulled out her Wind Boomerang. When she tossed it at Zant, he fell from where he was floating and bounced on the top of the water until he reached the land.
“Uh-oh…” muttered Zant slowly as Rose charged at him with a katana out. She swiped four times at him until he vanished away like he did before. Rose looked around and saw Zant on the other side of the water from before.
“That clever man!” Rose groaned as she ran to swipe the Wind Boomerang at Zant one more time. He hopped back to the land and got slashed four more times by Rose and vanished in from of the land of the swamp area. He twirled his arms again until he reached his stomach and tossed his arms out, making the red encryptions appear and him teleporting off.
Zant met Trixie at an area with a giant metal half-sphere over boiling lava. She looked around for the person.
“Where is he…?” she wondered, eying the area. Trixie looked up to see him only to vanish again. When the half-sphere shook up and down, Trixie turned to see Zant jumping up and down, making childish noises in his shrill voice.
“Fall into the lava!” Zant yelled, laughing a little, and then making childish noises again until Trixie ran over to him. This caused him to vanish to a new area and to the same thing.
“Stupid Twili thing…” Trixie grumbled and sped over to him, making his vanish again. Once he was at his new location, Zant began to shoot laser spheres at the skateboarding queen for a while.
“Out… of… power…” panted Zant after a while of shooting at Trixie. She laughed and saw this opportunity to go after and slash at Zant with two daggers in her hands. After four hits, he vanished away once more.
“And here we go with the little kiddy jumping up and down.” Trixie muttered, looking around and seeing Zant appear on an edge.
“I’m not a kid!” Zant barked back at her and hopped up and down until Trixie tried to attack him again.
“Well, you sure do act like one. Bouncing around and yelling shrill noises.” taunted Trixie as she giggled until Zant unexpectedly jumped to make her warble about from the shockwaves that moved around the place.
“Why won’t you die!?” screeched Zant as he didn’t vanish, he just stopped bouncing and shot lasers at Trixie. She jumped up to avoid a few, but got hit by one or two to almost falling off the edge.
“Whoop, this is very close, but now it’s my turn to attack!” she yelled, trilling a battle cry and attacking another four times to get Zant to teleport off and prepare to vanish into another battle. Doing another twirl of arms and red printing behind him in the darkness, Zant moved onto another area.
“So you don’t die underwater, I’ll give you a little power…” Zant muttered under his breath into the next place.
Spud appeared underwater quickly. He held onto his throat as if he would choke, but looked at his body to see that he was now a merman!
“My dreams… HAVE COME TRUE!!!” announced the new merman proudly. Rumbling under the water caused Spud to swim away with his new tail back and a giant head that was shaped like Zant rose from the sand.
“Now that’s very creepy.” Spud murmured to himself. Water bubbles shot from out of it and the tongue area went away, revealing Zant who shot spheres at the man.
“It’s not at all creepy, it’s a master of art!” yelled Zant in return. Spud grinned and shrugged and swam lower until he reached the level of where Zant was and sped into the helmet.
“Prepare for my Fin Flap!” screeched Spud as he yelled loudly to get Zant’s hearing messed up and he smacked the man four times right before he vanished away. More water bubbles pushed Spud out of the head and it slowly went down back into the sand.
“Well, you could find me so easily that way, huh? Try it with FOUR heads of me!” Zant challenged the merman as four heads rose from the ground. They circled a spot without sand in the middle of the whole underwater scenery.
“I think I can handle with my speed.” Spud proudly answered as he grinned. But he didn’t notice all the head’s tongues went away and the helmet Zant was in showed him shooting laser spheres at him.
“I don’t think that you can.” responded Zant as he laughed and saw Spud got shot and floated to the ground. When he floated up and charged at the helmet Zant was in, the tongue closed up and he clanked against it before the heads went back down into the sand.
“This is getting on my nerves…” Spud groaned as he watched the helmets go up again and paid attention. The head to his left was the one that contained Zant and became clear when the tongues went away.
“Heeya!” Zant called out, shooting the lasers as Spud. He was able to be aware and swim out of the way and then attack him with four more tail fin attacks.
Jake walked in the grass and looked around the area, seeing six wooden poles surrounding a lone pole in the middle.
“So Zant took me here, where is he then?” he rhetorically asked and looked around. Zant appeared on the middle pole ands eyed Jake. He turned back at him and pulled out a fire spear from no where.
“Foolish little dragon.” Zant said as he jumped to another pole and yelled in his usual, shrill voice.
“Stupid jumping bean.” groaned Jake. He ran around to chase Zant until he stopped again on the middle pole and shot laser spheres at Jake.
“Take this, and this!” Zant yelled, shooting at Jake still. He ducked and ran into the pole on accident, making Zant begin to wobble around on his right foot as if he’d all. This gave Jake an idea.
“I do wonder…” Jake murmured as his voice trailed off and he rolled into the pole again, making Zant fall from it on his back and wiggling around. He ran to the other side of the wooden pole and attacked Zant four times with his fire spear until he vanished back onto the middle pole.
“I’m surprised that you were able to discover how to do that.” muttered Zant with a tormenting tone. In response, Jake glared evilly at him and breathed fire at him. Zant jumped to another pole to avoid it and ran around to multiple wooden poles once more.
“Then fire at me to see if I’ll dodge it!” Jake challenged as he grinned with his dragon fangs. Zant growled and did what he said by shooting the laser spheres at him multiple times. Jake quickly side-stepped and then ran behind Zant and smacked into the pole twice.
“KYAH!” Zant yelled in shock as he smacked the grass below with his face. This made Jake run to him and once Zant looked up, he was holding his spear in a position to stab the spear right through him.
“Who’s the stupid one now?” taunted Jake as he stabbed the fiery spear through him and he wriggled around in pain until he vanished to be floating over the middle pole with the fire spear out of his stomach where it was just stabbed.
“I’m done with you, I can move on to my next enemy.” Zant just told him as he twirled his arms around, put them in the middle while he tucked himself in, and then released his energy to send him teleporting off to the next location and the next battle with the next hero, or heroine.
Florence appeared back in the room where she had gotten the second mirror shard, Yeta’s room where she kept her once precious mirror. But it was all covered in ice as if she would be fighting her again. When Zant appeared in the middle of the room, he looked down oddly at Flo.
“Get ready for a BIG surprise, child.” taunted the Twili monster as he tucked himself into a little ball and got way, way, way bigger while still floating in the air.
“Wait, I remember this…” Flo muttered as she looked down at the shiny floor and saw giant Zant’s reflection in it. Once he landed down on the icy flooring, Florence dodged being squashed and Zant began to stomp around with his feet, switching off continuously.
“Let me squish you like a bug!” Zant yelled to the girl. She groaned as she dodged being kicked and pulled out her Ball and Chain. With this, she tossed it at one of Zant’s feet that was on the floor and it made him hold onto it while bouncing around and slowly shrink.
“OW, OW, OW! YOU HURT MY FOOT!” whined Zant as he reached a very small size and ran around.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” called out Flo as she slid on the ice and pulled out an arrow, slashing at the tiny Zant as if her arrow was a sword. After eight hits, Zant vanished into the middle of the room again and increased his size again.
“Let’s try reducing you to a puddle of yourself now, shall we?” Zant suggested in an evil manner. Florence just laughed and leaped out of the way once Zant landed on the icy floor.
“Let’s see you in that wee size again, huh?” Florence asked, now being the one to annoy Zant instead of him annoying her. She spun around the ball at the end of the chain until she had her aim on Zant’s leg.
“Don’t you dare try that again…” Zant warned slowly as Flo smacked his leg once more, causing him to hold his foot and jump up and down while sliding around the slippery room. Florence raised her arm up and bashed the monster four more times until he went into the middle of the room to leave the area.
“I guess I can disregard that last statement, me paying the price of hitting your leg, hmm?” muttered Flo as she shrugged and giggled. Zant glared down at her.
“I think your little boyfriend will pay the price for that little comment.”
“Pay the price?—“ Florence was cut off when Zant had already done his hand movements and on to fighting the final hero, Shade the little imp.
The final area was behind a giant castle, which was the Huntscity Ruins. Shade was floating over an area of stone with laser force fields blocking him from leaving. The sky and whole area seemed to be bright and luminating because of all the yellow twilight that Zant had made.
Shade looked up and saw Zant fall down to the floor in front of him as if he was as heavy as steel. He looked around many times to make sure the area was secure and pulled out his two, hidden swords from his sleeves. They were like pirate swords, because they bent back, but were large and encrusted with gold and other engraftments.
“Well, it’s déjà vu all over again.” muttered Shade as he grinned and pulled out his white and shining swords, watching Zant slowly slicing his swords together.
“Either way, you’ll end up dead this time.” Zant promised as he charged and slashed as Shade so that he fell back onto the ground. After this quick slice, Zant vanished after this and Shade quickly floated back up.
“You are really fast…” Shade complimented as he turned to Zant who was attacking as if he was a drunk, madman. He attacked him with a large slice and he vanished. When he reappeared, he was spinning around very, very fast with his swords out.
“Take this attack!” Zant yelled at him and charged to him. Shade floated out of the way and watched him spin in the same spot until he got too dizzy to move and stopped spinning.
“Now time for my super slice moves!” answered Shade as he quickly floated over and attacked him about ten times until he regained the ability to move around and vanished. Zant continued to appear behind and near Shade with his madman attacks.
“No one can escape my power!” explained Zant, “NO ONE!!” Zant screeched as he used his spin attack to Shade. He blocked it with his swords together in a position like an X, but it made Zant continue to use his spin attack until Shade hit the force fields around the ring. But Zant was open for an attack as soon as Shade regained the ability to get up.
“I’ll destroy you now!” Shade yelled as he slashed many times until he paused, seeing Zant had temporarily stopped breathing, but it didn’t make Shade show any mercy.
“This is for helping Huntsdad!” He slashed a few times.
“This is for turning me into an imp!” Shade continued to attack viciously.
“This is for taking my throne and causing a magical problem!” The imp took a very long stop.
“Is for endangering my friends!!!” Shade crossed his swords like an X again and they got powered with ice until he slashed at Zant and he ran to the middle, breathing again.
“Ugh…” Zant groaned as he wobbled about as if he was going to fall over from being drunk. Then he switched from feet to feet as he moved around and tried to keep balance. Zant jumped about a few times until he fell to his knees.
“RAAAA!!!” yelled the menace with his hands and arms up and he fell forward.
Back in the throne room of the Spirit Castle, the Fused Shadows that Zant had had circled around Shade until they went back into his possession. He looked at his hands and expected for the killing of Zant and returning of Fused Shadow would make him normal.
His hands were still that of his imp form. His face turned devastated until he floated higher and moved around to see if ANY of his body had been turned back to normal. The five other friends were right next to him.
“Y-You... TRAITORS!” screeched a voice from the direction of the throne. Shade and the other five stepped one foot out and angrily glared at him. Zant was laying there with his helmet off on the throne.
“Traitors, ha! You know why none would call you king? It was your eyes, Zant! All saw it, a lust for power, burning in your pupils… Did you think we’d forget our ancestors lost their king to such greed?” back-talked Shade angrily to the foolish man. He took a deep breath to make sure he was still alive.
“Shade… Foolish Twilight King… The curse on you cannot be broken… It was placed on you by the magic of my god! The power you held as leader of the Twili will never return!” While Zant said all this, Shade’s third arm began to surge with power.
“Already he has descended and been reborn in this world…” The six of them took another step forward out of anger with the man. PURE anger. Shade’s third hand continued to move around and gain power.
“As long as my master, Huntsdad, survives, he will resurrect me without cease!” Zant just looked up and widened his mouth and eyes and he made a ghastly noise. Shade couldn’t take it; his third arm gained two extra energy lines that followed the arm as it shot into Zant’s stomach.
“RAAAA!!!!!!” he yelled angrily. He flailed his legs and arms in pain until the arm with the power lines came out of his gut and he blew up like a balloon until he burst. Dead. The energy and third hand went back from behind his head.
“I… I used a fraction of the power that’s inside me now…” Shade muttered in shock, holding his face and talking about the Fused Shadows, “I did THAT only using a fraction of my ancestor’s power!?” Shade took a moment to return to normal from the power he just unleashed.
“Florence! Now is the time! We must save Adlez! The evil power that Zant was wielding… I couldn’t take it from him. But at least I still have the magic from my ancestors.” Shade put his right thumb on his left palm slowly.
“With it, I can restore the cherished power Adlez bestowed upon me…” Shade made another teleporter on the floor.
“Now! Let’s go! Huntsking Adlez is waiting!” ushered the imp as he moved his hands to get them to his location.
I can't say anything either... XD *warning, longer review than last time* RAWRR. You didn't tell me you updateddd. *even if I was already in my bed sleeping* |: So anyway... WOOOOOOW. This was the battle sceney that you were talking about. Go Rose! And Trixie! Spud! Jake! Florence! *pauses for a moment* SHAAAADE! YEAH! *cheers* THEY DEFEATED THE EVIL GUYYYY... But ewww, Zant blew up like a balloon with tonsa helium and slimey stufffffff. GROSS. I wouldn't want to see HIM doing that. RAAAAA! XD And gee, his teleporting IS fast and he keeps on disappearing too. LIKE A MAGICIAN. That little menace. Grrawrr. THEY WILL GET CHOO! D: Spud being a merman was funny. He was like "MY DREAMS!! HAVE COME TRUEEE!!" fjsioajftvmd. YESSSSSH. Except my dream is to be this crime-fighting heroo! Like them! Only not a merman like Spud. XD OMGSH that was really cool though. And you know what's extremely deja-vuish? That's kind of how one of the battle scenes is in chapter 27 (there's too much in this one; 10 pages and I'm not even done yet). Ya know, except slightly different in a way. Btw I'll try and update soon. My mom was mad at me staying up fifteen minutes after my 'curfew' trying to finish it. >_< BUT ON THE CONTRARY. Zant is still ebbbil. I hope his god takes that nasty curse off of Shade. WAAH. Or else they'll be prepared to be tomato soup on a family dinner meal! ...That too. BUT I saw that Shade was back in the Huntscity Ruinssss. Brings back good memories... or past chapters. [; BUT YEAH! Shade showed no mercy to that evil Zant! YEAAAH! He acts like some kid, though. Like what Trixie said, "And here we go with the little kiddy jumping up and down." And it was funny with Florence when he was all "OWWWW YA HURTED MY FOOOOOOT" Nopookie! GRRAWR! XD Ummm WOWWW lotsa powerrr for Shadeyy. Yaayyyy. YEAH! Now you can go save Adlez! YEEEAAH! Ummm.. *scrolls up* wow I do type long reviews. It looks like it's almost a pointless one if you ask me. *shot* XD BUT ANYWAY. That chapter was gewddd. Can't wait for the next! And ummm... update before teh clouds come by! Or... something else that's... less lame. *waves* XDD
Eheh, now I can actually stay up late on the weekends to work on this without regretting it at school. XD Here’s the next chapter, ya’ll. It’ll be like ch. 14, more of a filler where nothing happens.
Chapter 16: Confronting the Leader
In front of the reflection of the Mirror of Spirits in the Spirit World, the gang of six appeared from the throne room.
“So, Zant is finally dead.” Florence was finally able to say after a long silence.
“And… your form is still an imp.” added Rose as she sighed as well. Shade just looked back at Rose with a determined look.
“I’m not at all worried about that yet. Now, we must save Adlez!” simply answered Shade as he looked sharply into the mirror reflection and they all pixilated into the portal.
Back in the Mirror Chamber, everyone was still silent when they walked off the white staircase before it slowly vanished away.
“Let’s go to the Huntscity Ruins now.” Jake slowly said. Spud abruptly interrupted when he had something to say.
“Actually, Trixie and I are going back into the twilight to try to help the others escape or help the resistance.” he told them.
“Fine then, I’ll get you through.” calmly said Shade as his third hand got huge and grabbed Spud and Trixie. Once in the hand, they were tossed straight into the curtain of twilight.
“Shade!? How do you have so much power!?” yelled Florence as she was in shock. Shade had his eyes widened as well as he looked at his hands. Then he slowly lowered his hands and looked down after his third arm went away.
“Shade, I didn’t mean for that to be mean…” her voice trailed off as she sighed and Shade pixilated them away without saying anything.
(A/N: I’m listening to DHT’s, ‘Listen to Your Heart,’ and it really matches the theme. So, I suggest you listen to it while you read this, but only really the beginning part of the song.)
From the darkened sky, the four of them appeared in front of the Huntscity Ruins, but facing away.
“Shade… Florence… Rose and I are going off to find the King. Will… will you two be ok on your own?” Jake slowly asked as he was worried about Shade throwing him as well. Shade was still looking down, but was able to nod.
“We’ll see you guys soon.” Rose answered, embracing Shade and Flo tightly and then ran off with the dragon to a different area. Another long pause led to Shade and Florence turning around, but only Flo looking up.
“Shade, look!” gasped Florence as she put her hands to her mouth and saw that the whole city had been surrounded by a crystal-shaped barrier that was all yellow like the sky in twilight. This caused the imp to suddenly be enraged and the Fused Shadows shot out of his inventory and surrounded him, causing Flo to jump back in fear.
“What are you…?” she wondered, watching the Fused Shadows surrounding him. They looked like Shade’s crown and matched like a puzzle piece to look like a coat of armor. Eight, twilit tentacles came out instead of his arms and legs and he looked like a Twili octopus/jellyfish He floated to the force field and grabbed onto it, pulling and pulling until it all shattered and vanished into nothingness.
“Fl-Florence…” muttered Shade as he turned back to normal (as in imp normal) in Florence’s arms. She smiled down at him and he responded with a very weak smile. It had just gotten morning and it was bright, but the clouds in the area made it darker and it started to rain. Together, they entered the front of the Huntscity Castle, which had gotten bigger since they were last there.
Through the first and front door, Florence walked into the main room of the large castle. She was still holding Shade, who had passed out a while ago. Inside, her footsteps made noises on the regal flooring until she had gotten to the door straight ahead.
“Hello? Anyone here?” she asked once in the next room. It was like a ballroom without a chandelier. Flo heard a noise and sharply turned around to see that it was nothing. Slowly taking a big sigh, she walked into the middle of the room when suddenly, large, Twili monsters appeared and surrounded her.
“Oh great.” sarcastically answered Florence as she looked around at the eight monsters around her in a circle. She pulled out her bow (after setting down her imp friend) and moved her hand in a way so the monsters were taunted enough to come and attack her.
“Bring it on, chumps!” Flo taunted. The large Twili monsters roared and ran closer to the middle. She just pulled out a bomb, attached it to the top of an arrow, and shot it at a monster, killing two of them. This made the monsters stop and look at the dead Twili monsters on the floor.
“I’m sorry, but let me get out of this stupid circle!” Florence suggested as she let out a chuckle and shot an arrow in the gut of a monster. It looked down, letting Flo jump on its head and out of the circle. Once they noticed, they turned back to the tricky girl who gave them a funny look that was taunting to them.
“Mind if I join the party?” asked a familiar voice from the middle of the room. Shade had gained consciousness and was floating up, looking at the Twili monsters with an odd expression on his face.
“Welcome to the party, my friend.” answered Flo. When she saw the monsters were looking at Shade and had their backs turned to her, she pulled out a bomb and lit it. The bomb was tossed to the closest three monsters who blew up. This caused the remaining 3 Twili monsters to turn to her and ignore Shade.
“That wouldn’t be very smart…” Shade muttered slowly as he breathed ice all over the monsters. As soon as the monsters were incased in the ice, Flo and Shade kicked the ice and made them shatter into many tiny pieces. They gave each other a grin and a thumbs up.
“We’re a great team.” Florence chuckled before a spiritual staircase appearing in front of them, leading up very high. They took a deep breath and walked or floated to the white stairs and slowly ascended up.
After the many stairs that were being climbed, there was a fork in the path. Burt this was sure to be the last thing before meeting up with the final room. Shade and Florence looked at each other quickly. With a wink and a smile, they went off in their directions, left for Shade and right for Flo.
Shade’s path went to a maze made of stone similar to the stone that the castle was made of. He floated through it and was looking around for anything like a huge door that would lead to the final room.
“Oh wait, I can just float over it all…” muttered Shade to himself. But when he did it, the ceiling moved lower so he was unable to do so. This made him groan and continue floating on and on to the exit.
“Dead end.” Shade grumbled to himself for the fourth time. He was finally able to get out after another few minutes and saw ahead of him a giant barrier that was slightly transparent.
“What’s past here…?” slowly wondered the imp as he slowly put his hand on the glass, feeling how cold it was. It made him sigh and think about all he had been through, but ignored it and tried to punch through, but the slightly transparent wall just absorbed the hit.
“OW!” he yelled, holding his hand in pain. Shade growled and shot ice at it, but the ice just shot through the wall and hit the stone wall on the other side. Shade just fumed and his Fused Shadows flew out of his possession and circled him.
“Fine, I’ll destroy this stupid thing!” Shade simply said, the Fused Shadows getting on him like when he broke the barrier outside the city ruins. He turned into his Twili octopus thing and grabbed the door, it quickly shattering.
“Thanks for showing me your power…” a voice echoed around the room when Shade turned normal and his Fused Shadows returned to his possession. He looked around for the voice, but shrugged and floated ahead to see a large chest.
“This must be…” his voice trailed off when he opened the chest and got a large key, “Yep, the key to the final room. I have to go back to Florence!”
And on Florence’s end, she didn’t go very far and got to a giant door, but when she saw the lock on it, she groaned and ran over to it. At this moment, she didn’t see a shadowed figure drop to the center of the room. This person was wearing one of the cloaks that the Huntsclan wore at the beginning of the war.
“They took me out of the battle to prevent you to get in there.” the figure told Flo. She slowly turned around and looked at the person. Without saying anything, Florence pulled out an arrow and shot at the hood, sending it flying down.
“Aruella!?” Florence wondered with shock as her face was revealed. She answered with an evil look and a nod, but nothing more. But after a while, she raised her right arm and shot lightning at Flo. She ducked and rolled to the left.
“Tricky today, aren’t we?” wondered Aruella as she grinned and shot more lightning at Florence with both her hands. She jumped to the side from the first attack and then pulled out an arrow. With the metal tip of it, she was able to redirect the lightning it smashed into the ceiling. The few blocks of stone fell on Aruella’s head, “Oof!”
“I think that you’re just having a bad day.” answered the brunette with a smirk on her face, looking down at Aruella who was on the ground.
”Florence, Florence!” Shade called out, floating over. Aruella got up from the rubble that fell on her and wiped of some blood from her check.
“I was only meant to distract you from getting into that room, I can’t take on two people…” she told Flo, sparking up and when the sparks went away, Aruella had gone.
“I have the key to get into that room… The room Adlez must be in.” explained the imp, putting the key in the big lock and turning it around, making the huge lock fall and the chains over the door fall with it.
“Are you ready for this?” Florence asked her boyfriend. He took a big gulp, a deep breath, and then nodded. The large door opened up and they both walked through it.
Past the door, the two of them were outside on the tallest part of the castle. It was raining and thunder storming still, but the clouds in the sky were covered in twilight, even if the area wasn’t encased in twilight. Flo and Shade ran up a few stairs and went into a partially inside bit of the top.
“Let’s go…” Shade muttered as they walked through the door-less doorway. The area was obviously the elegant throne room and the outside could get in through parts in between pillars on the wall. They floated ahead and saw a stone head on the floor and then looked up to the throne, seeing Adlez unconscious in the middle of a symbol over the throne. Seeing her caused them to gasp, but when they looked down, they saw Huntsdad, sitting on the throne.
“Welcome to my castle.” he simply stated. Shade looked at him in an odd manner that turned into an evil look at him.
“So you’re… Tudnahds.” Shade muttered, eying him. Huntsdad took a while to get up and was laughing when he was. In his right hand was what looked like a white and shining sword in its case. All that was shinning from it was the handle that was sticking out from it and it was the same sword that had stabbed him before by the spirits.
“I’ve been dying to see you again.” explained Shade as he gave a grin that completely covered his impish face and was very creepy, but Florence was still silent and glaring at her old step-dad.
“Your people have long amused me, Shade. To defy the gods with such petty magic, only to be cast aside… How pathetic.” Huntsdad said, showing his disproval of the Twili tribe, “Pathetic as they were, though, they served me well. Their anguish was my nourishment. Their hatred bled across the void and awakened me, I drew deep of it and grew strong again.” Huntsdad clenched his fist that wasn’t holding the sword.
“Your people had some skill to be sure… but they lacked true power.” He turned from the group of two and walked a little to his left and looked at the other statue’s head that was on the floor. Then he looked up to Adlez, who was still hanging in the middle of the symbol above the throne.
“The kind of absolute power that those chosen by the gods wield.” Adlez was still unconscious when Huntsdad turned back to Shade and Florence, holding up the hand that had the mark of his power on it and making it glow.
“He who wields such a power would make a suitable king for this world, don’t you think?”
“Ha! Such conceit!” barked Shade as he had his hands clenched together and behind him as if he was going to fly at Huntsdad, “But if you are one of the chosen wielders of the power, as you claim…”
“I will risk everything to deny you!” Shade moved his hands to his stomach and then up on the sides of his heads, his palms facing behind him before he crossed his arms over his face and threw his arms back again.
“Shadow has been moved by light, it seems…” realized Huntsdad as he took a few laughs, “… How amusing.” He grinned and stared down at Shade.
“Very well… deny me then!” accepted the master as pixels of twilight started surrounding him, “Yes, try to deny me… you and your little friend…” Huntsdad looked up at Adlez and got an idea. Huntsdad raised his hand and it forced Shade to float into the air in front of the air, his back turned to Adlez.
“Shade!” called out Flo, trying to grab Shade just in time, but missing. Huntsdad grinned at the two of them up there and pixilated like Shade would, but only flew up a little in front of Shade. Pixilated Huntsdad shot through Shade and entered Adlez’s body. After this surge, Shade looked at himself to see if Huntsdad was inside him. He turned to Adlez and held p a fist to punch him, but then lowered it with sorrow, not wanted to hurt his friend. Shade was about to hold his face, but he looked swarmed with dark energy when he opened his eyes and shot Shade across the room, very far.
“AHHH!!!” he yelled, falling back outside in front of the doorway, passing out. Florence ran over, but saw many barriers stopping him from escaping. Flo looked around until he heard Adlez walking behind her and stopping right behind her. Huntsdad’s voice was laughing inside his body.
“Both of you, faithless fools who would dare to take up arms against the king of light and shadow…” Adlez with Huntsdad in him said, spinning a sword around his hand, “So you choose, and so you shall feel my wrath!” Adlez’s body floated up in the middle of the room and Florence looked at him with anger.

Chapter 17: Dark Beast: The Father of Hunt
Florence looked down at the floor and saw something glimmering down there. She realized that they were the two swords that Shade would usually use in big battles. He picked them up and looked up to Adlez, who was floating around the room.
“I don’t want to hurt you, but I must at least do some harm to get that evil out of you.” she muttered, running to the middle of the room. Adlez held up his sword and a ball of energy glowed on it.
“Oh, so you want to play baseball?” Florence suggested.
“Heeya!” yelled Huntsdad/Adlez as he tossed the light ball at Flo. She slashed it back with the two swords in her hands and it sparked Adlez. He looked down and growled slowly.
“Florence, I hope you know what you’re doing…” muttered the girl to herself, dodging a dive-bomb from Adlez with his sword. Huntsdad’s voice boomed as the sword rose and a marking lit up on the floor.
“Taste the power of the King!” it yelled as it lit up even harder and the light power shot Florence up in the air and then smack back on the regal floor. Flo grunted as she got up and wiped off some blood from her lip.
“If you wanted to play tough…” Flo began to say, a smirk rising on her face and she put the swords she held in an X formation in front of her face, “… you should have asked.” Adlez growled and shot another ball of light at Florence. She lunged forward and the swords smacked the energy sphere back up at the king.
“I can do that too!” Adlez/Huntsdad yelled, slicing a formation to send the attack back at Flo. She grunted out of slight annoyance once more, but was able to slash the return of the attack right back at the man floating in the air.
“Sorry Adlez, we just have to get my old step dad out of there!” called out Florence, trying to see if Adlez could hear inside his own body, even with the evil purged inside him. You could hear Huntsdad’s voice loudly chuckling, even after that attack of light all around him went away.
“I’m afraid Adlez will stay out of affairs while I am in position as the king.” Huntsdad’s voice explained, but he was actually hiding that he was weak. Possessing such a powerful person and all these attacks must have worn him down.
“Oh yeah, so confident? Then bring it!” Florence taunted with her smirk still on her face. Adlez groaned slowly and then floated higher into the air. He raised his sword and the same insignia appeared on the floor under Florence. She saw this and rolled out of the way when it lit up brightly as an attack.
“Little rat, hold still!” Adlez grunted with the voice of Huntsdad. He decided a fast ball of energy from his sword would be a good way to finish her off. So, he lifted his sword up, an energy sphere appearing at the tip. He tossed it at Flo as she returned it with a slice from the swords in her hands.
“You seem tired, why don’t you take a rest?” asked Florence jokingly, taking a laugh. She swung again after Adlez hit the ball back at Flo.
“I will do nothing of the sort.” he immediately answered, his sword not at a battle way when Florence swung the attack at him. So, this made him open to the attack, sparking him until he was on the floor, half unconscious.
The many barriers around the area Florence and Adlez fought went away when Shade got up and regained consciousness. He then jumped into the air a little and floated there while the Fused Shadows circled his body.
“Grrrrrrrrrr….” slowly grunted Adlez, covering his right arm nearly all over his face when Shade had turned into his Twili octopus form. He floated closer and tossed all his hands at Adlez, grabbing him. With the hands as slight protection, Adlez was thrown on the wall while shrouded with the Twili hands, making pixels fly out of him. When Shade lifted his hands away, Huntsdad was out of Adlez’s body.
“Ahhh…” Florence said happily, seeing her just silent. She had a smile on her face until she heard the pixels of Huntsdad form behind her. When it was forming something, Shade floated over and put his left arm on her shoulder, giving her an approval look of, “I got your back.” Flo returned the look and then they both curiously looked at what was appearing from the pixels.
“Ugh…” Huntsdad’s voice groaned, turning into a slight roar when the blackness of the pixels went away and his figure was a boar-like monster with red, fiery quill-like things on his face. He glared at the two of them. He went up on his hind feet and you could see a giant scar on his stomach, shining white of spiritual energy.
“My step dad is a monster?” wondered Flo, glaring at this beast. The monster just eyed the two of them, not caring how far away Adlez was if he wanted to attack him. Shade and Florence, together, took a big gulp of worry from this new monster. They didn’t know Huntsdad’s capability in this new form.
Huntsdad took a big jump back as Shade floated onto Florence’s shoulders. She pulled out her bow while Shade was holding onto her quiver, carrying her arrows. A white, shiny gem on the beast’s forehead lit up.
“Weak point, go for that!” Shade just yelled, pointing at it and handing Flo an arrow. Huntsdad ran over in a charge while Florence used an arrow on the gem. Huntsdad fall on his side and Florence jumped to the side with the scar on it.
“Let’s see how easy this is…” muttered Florence, slicing the scar four times with Shade’s shining swords before Huntsdad shot to his feet and ran around the area covered in the force field until he pixilated away, Many red portals appeared around the area.
“We need to watch for any signs where he may come.” Shade told Florence, looking in different directions as her imp boyfriend. She saw one of the portals turn blue and the other red ones slowly vanish.
“Right there, he’s coming there!” Flo yelled, pointing out. Shade nodded and quickly tossed her an arrow, which she aimed at the portal, waiting for the boar creature to come out for his attack. When he came charging, he let go of the string and the arrow shot into the gem in his forehead.
“Direct hit!” taunted Shade as he laughed. He took her bow and watched Florence sidestep the falling of Huntsdad and slashed another four times at the scar on his belly. He shot up and vanished in pixels again.
“Here are the portals…” murmured Florence, taking her bow again. Shade handed her an arrow, but looked down and saw a huge shadow cast over them.
“Florence, he’s above us!” Shade just yelled, pixilating them a little farther off. He smacked onto the floor and then jumped back up, about to charge. Unfortunately, Flo dropped her bow and arrows; they were right behind Huntsdad.
“What are we gonna do now? Dodge this attack?” wondered Flo, eying Huntsdad who began to charge, not speeding just quite yet.
“Nah, just wait and watch.” answered Shade with confidence. When Huntsdad got closer, Shade’s third arm went out and when Huntsdad was right in front, the hand grabbed the gem. After a moment, Shade got enough power to push Huntsdad to the side.
“Very clever.” Florence complimented as she ran to pick up her bow and quiver before slashing a final four times at the huge cut on the underside of Huntsdad. This attack made him go on his hind legs for a while again until he fell on his stomach onto the floor in loss.
Huntsdad started boiling from a yellow fire and while Flo and Shade watched this act, light from Shade’s imp body appeared. He put his hands up a little and saw the light power from his body float away and back into Adlez’s body. Shade squinted and watched Adlez slowly regain consciousness.
“K-King… I… I…” He tried to say, feeling very sad. Adlez was able to cut into what he was trying to say.
“Say nothing, Shade… Your heart and mine were as one, however briefly…” Adlez explained to Shade quietly, closing his eyes and looking down, “Such suffering you have endured…” he grieved. Shade’s bottom lip quivered as his eyes closed and his head lowered.
“King….” quietly whispered Florence. Adlez slightly ignored this, but opened his eyes and walked over to Flo. They both stared at each other for a moment while Shade’s eyes were closed and he was still full of sorrow. This staring was interrupted when a loud noise was made and the Huntsdad remains were now a ball of yellow fire with a looking of Huntsdad’s face in it.
“Now what…?” wondered Adlez in thought. Shade was the only one not in shock, making the Fused Shadows circle him. Florence turned to see how he was and gasped to see the Fused Shadows around him. She knew what this meant; her boyfriend was gonna challenge him. Shade was just staring ahead at him.
“Ah!” Flo called out, reaching out a right hand to stop Shade, but he didn’t want any interference, pixilating her and Adlez out of the castle. He just proudly looked up at them before he closed his eyes and looked down, the Fused Shadows shooting into him to make him his Twili octopus. Together, they yelled at each other until a huge blow was landed and everything went white.
From Shade’s warping power, Florence and Adlez were out on a huge, grassy plain. It was far away from the castle, but it was large enough to entirely see. They both looked around a lot and then looked down in sorrow. They heard the castle rumbling and gasped, seeing it light up and then explode. From the rubble was a figure, Huntsdad as a human, riding on a black stallion.
“Oh no.” Florence muttered, seeing something in his hand. A closer look could let you see what he was holding was Shade’s crown. Flo and Adlez gasped at the sight before Huntsdad crushed the right horn of the crown as it fell.
“Shade…” Adlez said in a worried tone. Holding his sword, many spirit riders came out and rode with Huntsdad to charge at Florence and Huntsdad. Flo had her swords in hand, about to go and attack, but Adlez took his hand to stop him.
“Spirits of the light! Wielders of the great power that shines far and wide upon the lands of our world…” prayed the king. Huntsdad and the spirit riders were close to hitting them and riding even closer, “In my hour of need, grant me the power to banish evil!” Right before Huntsdad smacked into them, the spirits vanished them away.
The new area they were in was spirit water with the three spirits riding around in it and then their spheres of light flew to his hands, making many light arrows. He and Florence were just standing on the water. From looking down with closed eyes, Adlez looked up at Flo and opened his eyes, changing his face to a reassuring one.
“Florence…” began Adlez, “Chosen heroine! Lend us the last of your power!” Adlez put his right hand to his chest and bowed slowly. After a wait, Florence slowly put her right hand, the hand with the Huntsclan mark on it, out and then Adlez got out from his bow and placed his right hand on top. Light shined everywhere and they appeared again back in the battle with Huntsdad.

Chapter 18: Dark Lord Tudnahds
The next thing that happened after the light sent them back was that they were on an elegant horse, previously owned by Florence in the Huntsclan. Flo was on the front, controlling her horse, while Adlez was in the back with her bow, holding the golden arrows.
“I’ll try to slow Huntsdad with my light arrows!” Adlez told Florence, holding onto her back while she held onto her horse’s reigns, “You target him and keep him within range of my arrows!”
“Alright, I’ll try my best.” answered Flo. She charged the horse at Huntsdad, but he escaped for a bit away on his horse. In a large chase, Flo was deep behind his trail, but when he raised his sword, a ghastly aura appeared on the top of it. He twirled his sword around a few times until his phantom riders came out and attacked Florence.
“Look out!” yelled Adlez. He had seen these things before and he grabbed the reigns from Florence, directing the horse between two riders attacking them.
“Nice one.” Flo simply complimented. Adlez just smiled with an answer and then thought he should aim at Huntsdad, considering they were still tailgating him. When Adlez pointed the bow at Huntsdad, it lit up before she let go and hit Huntsdad.
“AARRGHH!!” groaned out Huntsdad as he was dangling on his horse that rode around slower than normal, making Flo and her horse in range to attack him. Huntsdad was covered in the golden aura, making him paralyzed. Florence directed her horse to this man and pulled out her swords.
“Take this!” she yelled, attacking and using sword spin moves on her once step dad. Once Huntsdad lost his light aura, he was able to block every sword attack from Flo. Adlez charged up another light arrow at this man, but when he shot it, he moved his horse so that the arrow missed.
“Get a better aim of him…” muttered Adlez, closing his right eye to aim well. He aimed again while Huntsdad prepared his summoning of the phantom riders.
“Just try that again.” Huntsdad threatened, tossing his sword attack to send out the spirits. Florence had gotten good ability to turn and avoided any attack. As soon as Adlez had the best aim, he shot the arrow at Huntsdad, hitting him on directly and making him paralyzed.
“Direct hit!” taunted Adlez when they both reached Huntsdad. At this point, Florence also was able to pull out her swords once more and attack a few more hits at Huntsdad before he could stop her attacks again.
“Don’t think of beating me here, or your worst fate will come!” Huntsdad warned them both, but mostly to Florence. They both gave him a funny, yet sinister look in return, with an eyebrow raise here and there.
“You don’t think that’ll make us back down, now do you?” wondered Flo in a taunting manner. Huntsdad groaned and turned to see ahead of him. He sped up, Florence slowly following behind. Adlez pulled up another arrow, but without Huntsdad using his attack, the phantom riders came out and smacked Florence off her horse.
“Ow.” Adlez muttered, eying his friend falling to the floor. Florence grabbed her arm out after Adlez did and he helped her up and back onto the horse.
“Thanks…” simply answered Florence. She got her horse started again and the chase against Huntsdad began again. A while into the chase, Huntsdad powered up his sword for the phantom rider summon attack. He tossed the spirits at them and Florence twirled the trail around until they avoided the attackers.
“Impossible…” Huntsdad grunted, turning around and letting his horse ride on its own. Without turns, Adlez had the perfect aim to smack Huntsdad with a light arrow and paralyze him. It took only one more hit from the shining swords of Flo to finish Huntsdad at this moment. His horse began to ride around, out of control, until Huntsdad fell off and his horse ran off. Florence jumped off the horse and ran near Huntsdad’s area of where he fell.
Huntsdad slowly got to his feet, doing his usual chuckle, and held onto his sword, covered in its case. He took a long time to cackle while he looked into the air and then dead ahead. While this went on, many clouds formed around the area, the sky looking Twili encrusted.
“Some impressive-looking blades…” Huntsdad muttered to Florence, holding his sword out a little, “But nothing more.” He pulled out his sword from its case and the case was cast aside.
“Would you hear my desire?” asked Huntsdad, thunder shooting in the background and rain starting to pour when he pulled out his sword and asked this, “To take this foul blade… and use it to blot out light forever!” He took quite a few steps forward, his cape slowly following. Adlez, on Flo’s horse, took steps back when the barrier from the battle in the castle surrounded Florence and Huntsdad in a one-on-one arena.
“…” Flo was simply silent as she just got into a battle position for the greatest battle of her life. Huntsdad’s rage heightened when nothing was happening and he began to burst.
“Yaa!!” he yelled, charging at Florence, his sword held with both hands and about to strike a powerful blow on Flo. She countered by pulling her swords out in front of her, making their swords clash. They both got their faces together and struggled to push past the force of the other person’s sword(s), and Florence won. This made Huntsdad’s guard drop and he was open for attack.
“Take this!” Florence yelled out, slashing at this man many times until he could block again and stopped more hits from attacking him. Huntsdad slowly followed Florence everywhere she went, but she needed to find another way to drop his guard.
“You can stop me, not like this.” Huntsdad told her, running at her again. Flo rolled out of the way, getting behind him. This was the perfect spot for an attack, and this attack made Huntsdad’s guard drop and he was available for a few more slashed from Florence’s blades.
“Just because I’m the only one fighting you right now doesn’t mean that I am weak!” grunted Flo with every vicious slash against Huntsdad. He groaned as he got from his right knee and left hand back to his feet from Florence’s attacking. Huntsdad groaned slowly as he took his sword with both hands, gripping tightly, and before Florence knew it, Huntsdad slashed hard at Flo and gave her a huge cut on her right leg. She groaned and let out a yell of pain, but barely stayed standing.
“So, you’re not invincible…” muttered Huntsdad curiously. Again, he tried to do his very powerful attack on Flo, but she was aware enough to hold up her swords and block the attack like she had done before.
“But I’m not stupid.” answered Florence slowly, struggling to keep Huntsdad’s attack at bay. After a while, she was able to overcome the strength and then make him vulnerable for attack. She stood her ground with the two swords held out from her swords. Flo took a while to power up and then span around a lot into Huntsdad, making him drop his sword and fly to the ground, practically unconscious.
“What’s this…?” Flo wondered, quickly dropping her swords and eying the one on the floor. She slowly picked it up and walked to Huntsdad. Florence jumped into the air and flipped around over Huntsdad until she landed on him, stabbing the sword directly inside the sword wound the spirits made before. Huntsdad’s mouth jabbed open, but it was a while before he began to yell.
“Ahhhh!!!!!” he was finally able to yell before Florence flipped off his stomach. Adlez was watching closely before he got off of Flo’s horse and walked next to Flo. Groaning slowly, Huntsdad was able to get to his feet, the sword still stabbed through his chest.
“Do not think this ends here…” Huntsdad grunted, grasping to his life but certain he’d keep it, “The history of light and shadow will be written in blood!” he barked at them. Huntsdad looked at the mark on his hand, it shinning brightly. Slowly, however, the shiny went away and his mark vanished.
“Ooohhh…!” groaned the man, his arms down on his sides now. Desperate, Huntsdad was silent, but calling for Zant in his thoughts. Up in the dead world, Zant was just watching down on Huntsdad slowly, waiting for a moment and then cracking his head. This crack made Huntsdad widen his eyes largely and then he closed his eyes. Still standing on his feet, Huntsdad was dead as the wind blew.
After a while of staring at Huntsdad, Florence heard noise from the hill behind her and turned around to the broken crown where Shade’s crown had been destroyed. The three spirit balls of light surrounded it and the figure of Imp Shade appeared there.
“Sh… Shade?” wondered Florence, looking ahead. After a while, she broke through the threshold and ran as fast as she could up the hill, leaving Adlez behind in the dust. Up the hill, she didn’t see the figure of Imp Shade anymore; a spiritual figure was bent down.
“Hmm…?” the voice muttered. It got up and slowly turned around, revealing himself as Spirit Shade, in a new change of clothes and robes. Florence gasped slowly after a deep blink and eying Shade. After a while of standing boldly, Shade decided to break the silence.
“What? Say something!” Shade called out at Flo, moving his head to the right a little bit, “Am I so beautiful that you’ve no words left?” the spirit man moved his head far to the left and then looking straight at Florence again as he spoke. Flo stared at him for a while and closed his mouth. Then she took a nice deep breath and smiled as the wind blew through her hair again.
