Aw, I wanted to listen to that song thing. But the link didn't work for me, so I just tried to substitute it with my KH2 music on my iPod. Baah, oh well. Anyway, this was definitely a better chapter than last, I'll say. There was a whole load of more action, and everyone was working together like always. The scenes flowed nicely and the cooperation was what, of course, helped them pull through together in the end, like it has been. Dark Shade helping out was also quite a catch, as well, even if he sounded annoyed after doing so. Then Shade using his uh, comet control power thing really made me gasp. Cos you know, not only did he have to use it, but I didn't think he'd have to this soon. Ahhh, looks like the going is getting tough sooner than I thought? Ooh, looks like I should keep my head up and follow through this not-so-easy... um, task. Thing.
And it was nice uh... seeing Giovanni. After all, he was being pretty informative and helpful for a while (at least until he left to go back with his tribe or someything). Loved that little Ash line there with Jake for a moment there; it actually made me laugh, and that's saying something, cos not a lot of things have for me lately. :] And hmm yay, there's a new destination that they've all headed to. Rock City, I would presume? Unless I haven't been reading that carefully.
Baaah, I guess what I'm trying to say, overall, is that this chapter really helped things move along and the way you did so was really fantastic. Please keep going. :] I'd definitely love to see more. ♥
(And as you can tell, I've tried harder to make my replies make more... uh, sense. Or at least smarter, as if I'm actively paying attention. Something like that. :/)
You always seem to update when I'm spacing out the most and can't think of anything to say. Thanks.
It's too bad I can't hear this song. I do like the idea of setting a story to a song, though, without it being a songfic. It's quite amazing, I think. I imagine that it'd be even better if I could listen to the song itself. Someday, maybe.
I enjoyed the action, though. Very awesome.
Oh crap, I just realized, I need to go pick up my sister. Ohhhhh crap, i'm gonna be late.
I’m sure I didn’t get as much ‘everyone’ action in the last chapter, but this one will be a big one. Expect lots of fun battle attacks from your character and others.
Chapter 16: The First Hero: The Impending Darkness
“This city is huge.” groaned Jake as they landed from the high walls. Many regular people were living here, doing regular people things.
“How are we going to find our first hero?” Raffi wondered, looking around, but then Shade pointed at the giant castle that they had seen before.
“I’m sure this place is led by a king or queen, we’ll simply ask them.” he told them. The straight path leading the way was pretty cleared, so they started running that way.
“Is there even a true name for this town or it just…Rock City?” Ash wondered.
“I’m pretty sure we’ll find that out once we get to the castle as well.” answered Kevin as they got to the moat that surrounded the castle. People either used their wings or followed through an ice bridge Shade/Raffi created and then continued on their way to the castle.
“Halt!” two guards said, standing in front of the main and giant door.
“Let us in, I’m the American Dragon.” Jake said, turning into his red dragon form. The two guards looked at each other and then opened the door for them. They sped in and started ascending the closest stairs.
“Hey, hey…” a guard stopped them, “If you’re looking for the princess, she’s down that hall, up one set of stairs, and then down another hall.” the soldier pointed in the direction of the first hall. They nodded and began to run through again.
“You know what?” Florence realized, making them stop while they were at the end of the first hall, “We don’t even know this person’s name… how will we find the first hero?”
“That’s true… Dark Shade, maybe you could help us.” Shade said to his shadow. It moved and then he popped out from the barely seen shadow.
“I helped you in the jungle, what is it now?” he asked, making all of them groan.
“At least he’s not laughing.” muttered Kevin under his breath.
“Can you go to the sages and find out if they know the name of the first hero?” asked Shade to his darker self. Hearing Kevin’s comment, he nodded and grinned, floating over to him.
“Eee hee hee hee!” Dark Shade giggled in his ear again and sped off before Kevin could slash Dark Shade to death.
“Shade, have you considered therapy for that guy?” Raffi asked and then starting the pace of running again.
“So until then, we’re going to want to appeal to the princess so that we may get an ally for our forces.” Jake said.
“Hey, what about the king or queen of this place? I wonder where they are.” added Ash as the finally got to the last hall and sped down it.
“Well, we’ll just have to find out once we go past these doors.” Florence answered. She stood in front and pushed the double doors open.
The doors opened and led them outside to a balcony area.
“Hmm?” a female voice wondered. The throne’s back was facing them, so they had to run down a little set of stairs and saw the princess on her throne. She had on an elegant and long white dress and dark black hair that goes down far, but not SUPER long. Around her neck was a simple lined necklace, but what was important was the pendant at the end of it.
“Are you the princess of this city?” Shade asked and she stood up and walked to the end of the balcony area and then turned to them.
“Yes I am, Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII.” Garnet told them.
“So are you the one in charge here?” asked Raffi as Garnet leaned on the edge of the balcony.
“Well… kind of. The queen just recently passed away and we’re kinda waiting for my power to fully make me the queen.” she told them, “And what of yourselves?” Garnet decided to ask them. They looked at each other for a moment.
“I’m Ash. I like blood and I hate bees.” Ash introduced. They all kinda gave her an odd look and Garnet simply laughed.
“I actually meant on why you’re here in Alexandria.” she answered.
“I knew it wasn’t called Rock City…” grumbled Ash, crossing her arms.
“Well, we’re looking for someone, but we’re not sure where to find them.” Kevin said.
“Well I’ll be happy to find whoever you’re looking for; we’ll just need a little information to find them. Anything you know about this person?” Garnet asked them.
“We have a little help that should be back here soon.” Shade said. Almost like they were magic words, Dark Shade flew down from the sky and floated in front of Shade.
“The sages said that all they were able to get was that the first hero will be the highest royalty in the city that you need to travel to.” and with that, Dark Shade simply floated into Shade’s shadow. Garnet looked to the side and sighed.
“I knew that this day would come.” she told them, “Before the queen died, she told me that I would not be the actual person to rule Alexandria, people from outside the city will come and take me to do an even more important task for the world.” they all looked at each other.
“Since you’re our first hero, we’re going to want to know a little more about you. What combat do you do?” Jake asked her.
“I’m a novice earth elementalist,” Garnet began, lifting her hand and rock pulling up from the floor and then back down, “but my main power lies in summoning.”
“Then you’ll clearly be great help for us.” Shade said, smiling. Garnet smiled back and some wind blew through her hair. Suddenly, a guard came rushing in.
“Sorry to interrupt, Your Majesty, but we have a big problem on the horizon.” the guard said. They all wondered what this was as the guard walked closer. He pointed past the balcony and something bad was in that direction. The guard handed them a mini-telescope and they saw this horror slowly coming his way, even if it seemed to be far away.
The group started running down the halls and were about to go down the stairs, but Garnet went a different way.
“Something wrong?” Florence asked her.
“I’m in a dress, I can’t fight like this.” Garnet said, finding a room and walking into after opening the door.
“What is with girls and their constant need to change their outfits?” Shade wondered before they began running down the stairs, down the hall, and through the main door. Outside, many people were screaming and running around crazily.
“We’re going to have to wait for Garnet before we can go off.” said Kevin as he pulled out his sword. Florence pulled out her bow and they continued to wait until Garnet in her new outfit came rushing out. She held a racket in her hand, which most likely held the powers to her summoning.
“Come on, we have to get to that terror.” Garnet said, waiting for everyone (who could) to turn into their flight form. Florence went with Shade and Garnet went with Jake.
“We’re here…” Raffi said slowly, pointing in that way. In front of them were five giant airships, the middle one being the largest. They were made of giant, metal coatings and were coated with guns. While far away from Alexandria, the first wave of attack from the airships would destroy the city.
“Let’s go.” muttered Garnet seriously.
“We should split up into small groups and take on the outermost ships and then meet in the middle one. Raffi, Kevin, and Ash took one way while Shade, Florence, Garnet, and Jake were on the other side.
“This way.” Raffi told her group, running one way. Many robots coated the ship, most of them holding very short-ranged lasers.
“I’ll take the robots,” Ash began, “Kevin, you get to the interior and destroy the inside and Raffi should take out the guns.” the two of them nodded. Kevin quickly shot back into his dragon form and flew over the robots.
“Well, since I can’t take the blood from these hunk-of-junks…” muttered Ash, closing her eyes and then shooting them open, “I’ll do something else.” her teeth turned into fangs and she flew to the leading robot. She kicked the laser that was in its hand and bit its neck.
“Beep brrzt, beep.” the robot muttered. Suddenly, the gray, tin coating turned green and the robot turned to another group of robots, running to them and going kamikaze.
“This will be easy.” Ash chuckled evilly and let out a hiss, shooting at multiple other robots. The newly green robots turned around and shot at the evil robots.
Raffi had gone straight to destroying the guns that were aiming at her and Ash. She controlled the water in a thin, nearby cloud. Twirling her body around with her arms in a dancing-like motion, the gun got whipped through multiple times and it got destroyed.
“I’ve got to be quick.” she whispered to herself. Raffi turned and then ran to the next gun turret with the same whip of water she took from the cloud.
Kevin sped out of the interior of the ship quicker than expected.
“Ash, Raffi, next ship!” he yelled, deciding to make it easier to simply keep his wings out, but stay in human form. Raffi did the same and Ash simply had her vampire wings out, so it didn’t matter. Once they flew off their first ship, it started to blow up and slowly descended into the open field below.
“Garnet, are you ready to show us what you can do?” Shade asked, grinning at her. She grinned back and nodded, moving her head back a little to push her hair out of her eyes. Taking the racket with both hands, Dagger span it a tiny bit and then suddenly, an ice goddess appeared.
“Shiva, Diamond Dust!” she yelled to the ice goddess. Shiva looked at the main rooming of the ship and blew ice over it as well as from the palms of her hands. This attack caused a giant thing of ice to cover it and then shatter, leaving behind lots of ice and destroyed robots.
“Great job, Garnet. Jake and I can take out the ship. Shade, you take Garnet and as much of this ice as you can with you to the next ship.” Florence said. They all nodded and Shade sped over to the ice. He turned it into water and let it cover his and Garnet’s feet and then took them to the second ship.
CRASH! Their first ship suddenly blew up right after Jake, with Florence, flew out of the main room. They both landed on the second ship where Shade and Garnet already were waiting for them.
“This ship is more advanced than the one before it.” Raffi muttered, looking at the giant mass of robots headed their way.
“Then we’ll have to fight harder.” simply answered Kevin, breathing ice as far as he could on the first bit of the robots. He jumped into the air and crossed his arms, controlling the ice-coated robots and then down on others.
“Take this!” yelled Raffi, speeding into the robot battle and shooting her water attack through a long line of robots and then freezing the stream. She controlled the ice over the ship.
“I don’t think we’ll have much luck here, but we might as well try.” sighed the vampire. She took control of nearby robots and ordered them to destroy the gun turrets nearby.
“Crazy Trio Attack!” Kevin called to his two others. They turned to him and nodded, going over and getting into a triangle formation, Kevin in the middle and floating in the air. Raffi controlled as much water as she could from the clouds and Kevin was adding on to it with ice, that Raffi simply melted with the regular water.
“It’s good!” Raffi said, making the water cover the triangle way. Ash formed bats to surround the inside of the water triangle and sent them to the robots. This made the bats, with the water triangle, go there. Raffi and Kevin did what they could to freeze a tiny bit of the water on as many robots as they could.
“We’re done!” yelled Ash, moving out of the way and collecting her bat army. Raffi and Kevin crossed paths and moved their arms forward in the same motion and the robots flew off the airship. This was because the two controlled the ice stuck on so many of them.
“It’s not enough…” they were all panting, but another army of robots simply appeared in their place.
“What’s… that?” wondered Raffi, pointing at something that attached to the side of the airship. It seemed to be a vine-made rope of sorts. Multiple ones appeared and a familiar group appeared.
“Giovanni!” Kevin said with a grin. Geo appeared from the side with multiple other people from his group. Most of them had gloves just like Geo’s or machete weapons. Maybe spears or vines would be other weapons, but the sludge gloves and machetes were the most popular.
“Yo.” laughed Geo, shooting many giant bursts of sludge at groups of robots.
“We’ll take care of these guys, you go in and destroy the inside.” a warrior told Kevin, Raffi, and Ash. They nodded and ran past the open path to the inside of the ship.
Back with Shade, Florence, Garnet, and Jake…
“So can you just summon another… you know… summon to destroy the ship?” Jake asked Garnet.
“No, I need time to recharge.” simply answered the princess.
“We’ll protect you until then.” replied Florence. She pulled out an arrow and shot it at a robot, knocking it over. Jake simply turned into his full dragon form and spat a lot of fire at the robots.
“Fire melts metal!” he taunted, clawing a few robots off the edge. Jake let out a little laugh of triumph.
“My turn…” Shade muttered. He put his hands together and then quickly apart, splitting the giant water stream into a quarter of the water and then three-fourths of it, “Haaaaah!” he yelled, twisting his right arm and making the smaller bit of water freeze on the ground. Controlling the ice, he flew into the air.
“Take this!” right before landing, the large water wave he carried with him quickly span and shot the hollow robots out of the way in a circle. One went Garnet’s way on accident.
“AH!” she yelled. She jumped out of the way and controlled some rock that was far down to form into a ‘bat’ form. Garnet set down her racket and smacked the robot off the ship. She let out a dangerous smirk and picked up her racket before gasping.
“Guy’s I’m going to summon Bahamut! We’ll want to leave!” Garnet yelled. The three of them sped out of their battle and to Garnet. The usual, Garnet was with Jake and Florence was with Shade. Garnet turned to the ship and slightly twirled her racket, making the sky dark.
“Summon Bahamut, and use Mega Flare!” the giant, dragon god came flying down and flew across the airship. It flew around in the air to turn around and blew a few fire shots in the air, which didn’t do anything. Bahamut powered up a great attack and then shot a giant, blue laser at the airship, which turned into a giant flare laser on impact. This destroyed the second ship for them.
Before the other second ship blew up, the people from the jungle left and they all met at the giant, main airship.
“It’s time to meet who’s running this.” Shade said. Surprisingly, there were no robots or anything. They ran inside and farther in, getting deeper and deeper into the place. Once they reached the main room, they saw a giant chair in front of them, manning the control panel.
“So you’ve arrived.” the booming voice said, not turning around.
“Who are you?” Kevin demanded. A chuckle could be heard and the person turned around, revealing himself to be Maelstrom.
“Maelstrom!? But the last time we saw you was at the North Pole!” gasped Jake.
“That’s right. I would have destroyed Christmas if you hadn’t interfered. But this new plan is perfect, the first hero is in the city that I’m going to!” Maelstrom said, grinning from his shadowed face. Garnet let out a worried sound.
“How do you know about the ‘first hero’?” Florence asked, but he shook his head, getting out of his seat.
“This isn’t the time for that, it’s time for a battle. However, I knew a giant battle with me being teamed up on isn’t the best thing, so I made this…” he muttered, pressing a button on his control panel. Lightning covered the room.
“What’s this going to do?” Raffi asked him, but Maelstrom shook his head again.
“You’ll find out in the battle… but you can only choose four representatives.” the Maelstrom said.
“Shade, you’ll probably want to be the representative for water.” Raffi said. He nodded and took the water she had, mixing it with the water Shade brought with him.
“Garnet should definitely battle.” Kevin said. She seemed nervous, but simply nodded, “I might want to do it, too.” Kevin said.
“I haven’t got a good chance for a nice battle, I want in on this.” Ash said with a grin. The four of them turned to Maelstrom while the other four took a step back.
“In this battle, it will be turn based. Determined by the power of you all, an order will be set.” Maelstrom said to them. In their view, a ‘one’ appeared in front of Kevin, a ‘two’ in front of Ash, a ‘three’ in front of Maelstrom, a ‘four’ in front of Garnet, a ‘five’ in front of Shade, and then a ‘six’ in front of Maelstrom again.
“Attack!” Kevin said, his sword in his hands. He ran up to Maelstrom and slashed once and then jumped back.
“Attack!” Ash used this as well, jumping to Maelstrom and doing a roundhouse kick.
“Shadow Ball!” Maelstrom stood in front a little and lifted his dark hand. He aimed it at the middle and Garnet and Ash got hit. He then stood back after the hit.
“Rock Spire.” Garnet held her racket and then a rock spiked down from the ceiling. She controlled it to shoot down and smack into Maelstrom.
“Wave!” Shade jumped into the air and let the water carry him to the middle of the room, in front of Maelstrom. He controlled the wave to move up and he moved with the wave until it crashed on Maelstrom. At this point, Shade jumped off and froze it on him. Once it shattered, Shade gathered the pieces and went back to his spot with the water.
“Dark Maelstrom!” this attack, matching his name, created a dark vortex to appear and suddenly, a storm made of black and dark colors surrounded the four, causing them all to be hurt. The vortex disappeared after this.
“Blizzard Blade!” Kevin coated his sword with a large bit of ice, making it larger in size, too. He ran at Maelstrom and jumped into the air, stabbing his sword through him and then controlling all the ice on it to turn into tiny shards that shot into Maelstrom.
“Vampire’s Feast!” Ash jumped ahead and shot her hands into the air. Suddenly, Maelstrom was at a scary manor location where a giant Ash, with three other unknown vampires, surrounded Maelstrom. The four of them surrounded Maelstrom in bats and then took a giant bite out of Maelstrom. At the end, they all appeared back in the same place.
“Clones from the Black!” Maelstrom put his hands together and then quickly apart. From him, four shadows were made and they made shadow Maelstroms in front of all of them. Dark swords appeared and shadow attacks were shot in all of them. At the end, the shadows vanished and Maelstrom put his hand back to his sides.
“Judgment Bolt!” Dagger put her focus on the racket and suddenly the heroes vanished. Lightning and clouds appeared and the lightning god Ramuh appeared. He threw his staff on Maelstrom and lightning coated Maelstrom.
“Uhn…” Maelstrom fell back on his button and the lightning field vanished.
Not only that, but Maelstrom accidentally broke the control panel and it set to ‘self-stop’. The whole thing completely shut down forever.
“Grr… I may not be able to get the first hero, but I was able to stall.” Maelstrom said. He went down into a shadow and flew out of the room. The airship stopped right in place and began to fall very quickly.
“We have to get out of here.” Garnet said. They sped out of the inside part and flew off of the airship, landing on the meadow area near Alexandria. The giant airship landed in the space between Alexandria meadow and the start of the jungle. It made a bridge!
“I’m sure this will make the jungle people happy. This way, people won’t have to invade their land to get to Alexandria.” Shade said with a smile. Kevin had wandered a little from the group.
“Well, I’ve got to tell my kingdom about my leaving.” the princess said slowly.
“Here, I’ll take you.” Raffi said, flying with Garnet. Kevin then walked back to the group, closing his phone.
“Great news guys!” he said, “Since we’re going to be traveling so much, I called my cousin Cid, who designs airships like these, and said that he would travel with us and we’d use his old airship!” they all smiled.
“Okay, here it is.” once Cid had gotten to them, he left the wooden airship that was smaller than the airships that tried to attack Alexandria. Also, it was more shaped like a boat and had a few propellers on top of it.
“And we’re ready to go.” Raffi said once she and Garnet had gotten back.
“The final hero is in the Atlantic Ocean area, we’d better leave soon.” Ash said. They all nodded and boarded Cid’s airship. The boarding dock closed up and it started to fly off.
Back at Alexandria…
“Without a royal hand, what are we going to do over here?” a royal official sighed.
“I’ll rule Alexandria…” a female voice said in a somewhat sinister tone. The royal official gasped at the sight of this person.
There you go! I LOVED working on this. There were many different battle songs I listened to for the whole ‘airship’ battle and then one specific song for the Maelstrom fight. Enjoy!

Well, I'll be; this chapter totally rocked- not that I had actually expected it to suck anyway. I really enjoyed all of the action scenes. It especially helped me out and gave me some ideas, too, especially since I still have this huge chunk of an action scene that I still have to finish in chapter seven, so thank you for that. And then when we met Miss Princess of Alexandria, now that was pretty interesting. x) Now I wonder who'll take over. Oh, I hope it's not Dante, cos she'll be the evil rotting flesh lady who uses magic crystals to keep her alive. I would wish this was kinda like a TV show, so you could hear the voice. Then again, that sorta ruins the cliffhanger if you knew who the person was. :/ Hmm, what else? Well, there was a ton of action. Wait, I already said that. Baaah, it's really worth mention, though. And as Ash had said, her vampire powers made me laugh. I dunno why; they just did. Then again, everything vampire-related reminds me of that Twilight-obsessed freak. XD But that's just me.
OKAY THEN, I guess that concludes my reply, since I might end rambling on about nothing if I do make it any longer, and I'm sure you wouldn't enjoy me doing such a thing, am I right? So yeah, YOU HAPPY!? Eh, whatever. Now I can get back to ATN. [:
No, sillies, Hilary Clinton is too estupido to find this place… let alone rule the UNITED STATES!!! Yeah, that chapter was a lot better than I thought it’d be… Anyway, I hope that this one is good, too. Even if it is kinda centered on one person for some of it.
Chapter 17: Sealing a Watery Grave
Shade and Florence were holding each other on the main deck once the nearly full moon rose up into the sky.
“We finally found our first hero.” Florence said with a smile. Garnet, Kevin, and Jake were outside as well. Cid was manning their airship pretty high because they were going through some of the darkened clouds.
“So… the Atlantic Ocean,” Kevin muttered, “What could our hero be doing THERE?” he wondered, holding the railing of the deck of the ship, looking over it.
“Well I was stuck in a place that not many people knew about…” muttered Garnet with a shrug. Her racket was away somewhere, “Destiny probably did this to keep us safe.”
“Remember when Maelstrom mentioned his need to find the first hero?” Jake asked. Kevin and Garnet nodded, “Well, what if there are other evil people after the ‘heroes’, too? That must mean we’ll have some competition here.” he answered with a shrug.
“That’s what I’m mainly worried about,” Shade interrupted, “We’ve had a lot of enemies in the past. I mean, some should be gone, but who knows about a bunch of others?”
“I don’t think they’d all foolishly rushed out and attack. I’ve helped run Alexandria enough to know about sending a small group first. Maybe they’ll keep sending Maelstrom.” suggested the recently-added princess.
“We’re almost there, prepare to land!” Cid’s voice yelled to the top of the ship. They all stood up and nodded, running below deck. Once they did this, everything closed up and the airship landed in the water roughly.
“Can we get out now?” Raffi asked.
“You sure can.” answered Cid. The place where Shade, Garnet, Jake, Kevin, and Florence had ran under to go below deck opened up and they all went out. They were now out in the Atlantic.
“Looks like we’re not too far away from land, so we’re probably close to the states, right?” Kevin asked his cousin, who had his fists on his hips. Cid closed his eyes and nodded a few times.
“We’d better look around for these people… and watch out for predators…” muttered Shade. He stood on the railing of the airship and leaped off, landing on ice that he froze once his feet touched it. Raffi flew off next.
“Come on, guys!” she and Shade made a large bit of ice and then formed it into stairs. The people who could ran off the railing on their own as Shade and Raffi did. The rest took the stairs.
“Maybe Shiva can help us a little.” Garnet said, holding up her racket. She spun it a little and then the goddess of ice, Shiva, appeared, “Diamond Dust!” she blew a large wave of ice over a lot of the ocean and then vanished.
“Let’s continue, then.” Raffi said. They took a few steps on the giant slab of ice, but suddenly, the ice stairs behind them turned into water, followed by a wave that made it go back into the ocean.
“What’s going on…?” Ash asked nervously, ready to claw someone’s eyes out. Walking on the water, a group of people wearing all blue surrounded them.
“Are we going to battle…?” wondered Shade. They all got into a battle position except Shade, “Hold on guys. Um… we’re here looking for a great hero?” the mysterious group all looked at each other and then bowed, creating an ice path that went deeper into the Atlantic.
“It’s nice to meet you all. You must be here from the prophecy.” an old man said. He seemed to be the chief of the whole thing.
“Why do all the heroes have a prophecy?” Kevin wondered.
“Well I mean they’re HEROES… kind of like storybook heroes.” answered Raffi. To her, it made a lot of sense.
“Yes, yes. Now, our hero hasn’t been spotted in quite a long time, but he told us that he left a clue to his location in the under of his home.” the old man chief said, “By the way, my name’s Gi-Chwan.”
“Nice to meet you.” Shade said before introducing everyone else.
(A/N: Okay, I could have listed them all, but I’m in an actiony mood right now. XD)
“His old house is over there,” Gi-Chwan pointed in the right direction, “and you’ll need this key to get in his basement.” he handed Shade the key. He thanked the chief and then they went to the direction of the hero’s house.
“So do you think the hero went far away from here?” Jake wondered, watching Shade, Raffi, and Kevin making their way through the ice path.
“Probably depends on when he left. If it was not too long ago, he might be. Who knows, though?” Cid answered as he pushed his glasses in place.
“I wonder how they even have HOMES here.” Ash added with a shrug.
“My guess is that they have ice homes and when boats or something rolls by, they either lower their ice homes or temporarily melt them back into water.” suggested Raffi. Ash simply closed her eyes and shrugged again. A giant ice manor came up in their view.
“Let’s hurry.” Kevin muttered, quickening his pace on making an ice bridge. Shade and Raffi did the same as the decided to run ahead on the water to make an ice bridge further on.
Once at the mansion place, they all tried to get in, but it was too hard.
“I’m worried about melting it…” Raffi muttered after trying a little to get through the ice with little effort.
“I’ve got an idea…” added Shade, eying a little ahead. He controlled ice to his feet and sped ahead to the manor. He made impact onto the manor and crashed the wall that he broke through with the help of his powers and then broke through the other wall.
“At least it didn’t completely collapse…” Garnet muttered, her hand on her mouth a little worriedly.
“Yeah, not yet.” Florence rolled her eyes and then followed the new ice bridge on the inside of the large manor place. Yet, only the outside was a mansion place while the inside was simply abandoned water.
“How can there be a basement here?” Kevin wondered, looking about and feeling the cold wall in case there was a button.
“Maybe it’s really far down…” wondered Raffi, looking down at the water. She made a large bubble with everyone in it and she controlled it down. Under the mansion was still nothing but water, but Raffi was determined and kept them going down.
“Look, there’s something there!” Cid pointed out below them. It was the top of an obvious treasure chest, somewhat buried in the sand. Garnet moved her right arm back a little and then shot it to her left, shooting away the sand. Kevin coated it in ice and controlled it to the surface and they opened it, once on a safe place.
“It’s a piece of paper.” murmured Ash a little anti-climactically. It was rolled up like a scroll and Florence unrolled it.
“It’s a map with a note: ‘This is my new location, let me know when my time is needed. ~Tempest’.” she read out loud.
“Looks like we found our information.” simply answered Cid, taking the map, rolling it back up, and tucking it into one of his vest pockets.
“We’d better get back to the airship.” Garnet said. They all nodded in agreement and followed the ice bridge that was still there.
“Should we visit Gi-Chwan once more?” Shade wondered.
“Yeah, we probably should…” muttered Jake, putting his right hand on his chin and then deciding. He nodded and the others did too before they decided to continue on the frozen pathway.
The large trail slowly made its way to the ‘frozen’ center of the Atlantic Ocean, Gi-Chwan looking away from the group once they got there.
“We got our clue!” Ash called out, waving. Florence held it up. Gi-Chwan looked back a little and then away once more. He moved his left arm across his chest and then back across with force. One from the group sped at Florence and smacked the scroll out of his hand and into Gi-Chwan’s.
“What was that all about!?” groaned Florence loudly, holding her right wrist and rubbing it. Gi-Chwan chuckled evilly and then turned around, laughing even more. Once he stopped, he looked back at the gang with strange, red eyes.
“There’s something wrong with this Gi-Chwan…” Kevin muttered, eying him curiously.
“He’s got to be possessed. I’ll handle this.” answered Shade, stepping forward in the frozen area.
“Hmm…?” the newly red-eyed water controller wondered once Shade stepped out in front of him.
“I challenge you to a battle!” Shade pointed at Gi-Chwan. He simply chuckled and nodded. They both jumped onto the water and ran their separate directions before facing each other.
Gi-Chwan was the first to make an attack, speeding toward Shade. He simply raised an ice pillar to lift him. He then made a second one not too far from him and the same size. Quickly, he raised the water in between and then froze it, to make it a bridge.
“What…?” Gi-Chwan wondered, making an ice ramp that went into the first ice pillar. Shade ran across the bridge and onto the second pillar. Once Gi-Chwan was nearby, he turned a little and then shot his arms forward and back, shattering the ice loudly once he got on it.
“Huah!” Shade grunted while doing this. This sent Gi-Chwan flying into the air and to the side a little. Shade jumped back a little and froze the water under Gi-Chwan’s landing area and he crashed into that as well.
“Uhhh…” he groaned, seemingly unconscious as he floated in the water. Shade didn’t believe this, so he walked onto the bridge part of what was remaining of the ice pillars/bridge. He slashed it off the second pillar and rode it toward Gi-Chwan like a snowboard. Shade got close to the ‘crash’ site and then Gi-Chwan quickly got to his feet and froze them over.
“I guess I’ll have to keep working hard to beat you…” murmured Shade. His arms darted into the air and above his head, creating a rather large wave that he rose on with his snowboard. Gi-Chwan quickly froze the wave over, so Shade flew off his board. It was more of a jump though, because Shade began to controllably run down the frozen wave. With his powers, he broke off some of the top of the wave and sent the icicles toward Gi-Chwan.
“Nice try!” he yelled, shooting up streams of water to break the ice shards that went his way. While he was distracted by this, Shade unfroze the top of the wave to cover most of Gi-Chwan. Shade quickly shot his right arm forward and froze the water that was toppling him.
“Take this!” Shade yelled, jumping in the air and doing a ‘karate-chop’ type of hit on Gi-Chwan’s ice-coated body. The ice shattered from him and he collapsed into the water. The chief’s voice echoed throughout the area with laughter and a dark spirit floated out of where Gi-Chwan’s body had laid. His body then floated to the surface.
“Shade!” Florence called out. He wondered why she was calling to him and coated Gi-Chwan’s body with water. He controlled it to float with him as he went back to the original area. Once there, they noticed all the ‘followers’ or ‘residents’ had also collapsed down to the ground.
“This is strange…” muttered Garnet, worried on what this meant. Cid walked up and took the scroll once more, putting it in his pockets.
“It’s like a plague just changed them to become hazardous… and then it just went away.” Raffi muttered, lifting one of the ‘resident’s’ faces and then setting him back down again.
“Someone familiar has returned…” a couple of voices began to chant. They all looked around to find out who was saying this, but couldn’t.
“And in the end, we will be the death of you and the world!” the chant seemed to end with this, so they all stopped trying to look for the chanting.
“I guess… that we’d better leave.” Jake muttered. They all agreed and walked back to the airship, worried about the chanting that had happened not too long ago. A dark forecast blew over once they went back into the air and flew across the Atlantic.
The next stop would be even more challenging, but the end will be chaotic.
Okay, that was very short… and mostly ice/water center, especially Shade. But I really wanted to update after a month. At least it wasn’t like… a TON of months. *glares at others* Eh, I’ve been busy with Harvest Moon fic, too. Which SOMEONE gave up on, AGAIN.
Alright everybody, I will make this as actiony as I can to make up for a lot of things.
Chapter 18: Aquatic Vengeance
The airship tugged its way along the trail.
“Are we anywhere close to the island?” Jake asked in an annoyed tone. He sounded pretty bored as he collapsed to the wooden ground.
“Sorry, Jake. Only halfway there.” Garnet muttered, handing him the paper. Or, at least setting it down on his back. Jake let out a loud groan and rolled over on his stomach.
“Um… there’s something I didn’t quite plan…” a voice called out from the engine room. Cid and Kevin sped out from it, both of them nervously looking at everyone.
“What’s the trouble?” Raffi wondered.
“Well… we’ve ran out of fuels, we’ll be crash landing into the water any second…” mumbled Cid. And right after that, the airship slowly began to descend, the air whistling alongside them.
“Brace for impact!” Shade yelled out. They all got up and sped into the interior of the ship. With whatever windows were on the inside, the group all watched as the airship crashed into the water, making a big wave.
“The water is going to flood us!” called out Ash, noticing the water was still rising and making quite a big wave. Shade turned to Raffi and they nodded, pushing the door out open and letting in some water.
“What are you doing!?” Florence wondered loudly, covering her body as water rushed in. Raffi pushed the water forward and make a bubble-like surrounding on the airship so Shade could jump out.
“Come on!” he yelled back to Raffi. She stopped what she was doing and did the same thing, making the water above and to the sides collapsing on them, but they lifted their fists above their heads and then taking a step forward, moving their arms forward too. This caused the water to change into thousands of particles. Once they both set their hands down, the particles fell down above the sea like rain.
“Nice job, guys.” Jake complimented as they got to the outside of the ship.
“Can we still move in this thing?” asked Shade to Cid.
“Yeah, it can move. The same speed, too. But we probably won’t be flying for a while, anyway.” Cid answered as crossed his arms.
“Then let’s set sail!” Kevin said dramatically with a laugh, setting the airship to continue on its course.
“Wow, you are very amazing, Kevin.” Florence said sarcastically and then laughing a little. Shade laughed with her and the airship continued on its path.
Cid’s airship continued on its way through the Atlantic, getting slowly closer and closer to its destination to the second hero.
“Anyone else ear something other than our boat moving?” wondered Ash as she was lying on her back with her arms covering her face.
“No.” Raffi muttered back, leaning on the railing of the airship and watching Ash.
“Oh wait, it’s a rat.” the vampire noticed and laughed a little, darting her hand to it and picking it up, “but just because I can hear the sounds of rats doesn’t make me weird at all. GRAH!” Ash continued and then yelled, taking a big bite out of the rat, frightening everyone.
“What is wrong with you!?” Kevin yelled at her. Ash tossed the rat’s corpse out of the airship and then let out a sigh, looking about.
“What?” everyone just groaned and fell back in a way of relaxation again.
“Wait a minute guys… I hear something else now. Another boat…” Garnet muttered. Everyone got up and went to different sides of the airship.
“There!” called out Cid, who was pointing out a ship gaining to their airship. It was a little larger than their ship and it had large and amazing sails.
“Oh no… I know that ship.” Shade groaned dis-heartedly as the ship made its way closer. Once stopping next to the airship, it was clear this was a pirate ship.
“We’re on our way to recruit a new member of the Aquamarine Alpha Alliance!” the captain yelled down to them.
“Archie!” yelled back Shade angrily.
“See if you can beat us to the second hero! Hahaha!” Archie began to laugh heartily and the pirate ship continued quickly along the way.
“We have to beat them there, the AAA will end up persuading the hero to join them and use him to flood the world!” Shade said. Cid ran back to the controls and sped forward, going next to the pirate ship.
“We’ll beat you!” taunted Jake to one of the pirates, who threw a spear at him. Jake narrowly jumped out of the way and then got it, tossing it into the ocean.
“You won’t want to mess with them; I thought you learned your lesson last time.” Florence answered to Jake bitterly. Jake mocked her tone and then shook her off, walking a different way.
“Slow them down, attack!” the pirate captain yelled out to them, slowing down a little to get closer to their airship. A few pirates jumped off of the boat and onto the airship before the pirate ship went back to its original speed.
“We’ll protect you!” Florence and Ash said, covering the place where Cid manned the controls. Florence aimed an arrow at a pirate, who hit it off with his sword. Florence returned the attack by punching the pirate’s right shoulder, knocking him back. She took a small hop back and quickly shot two arrows, which went through the pirate’s shirt’s sleeves and stuck him to the pirate ship.
“Hehe, my attacks are getting more and more creative.” chuckled the girl to herself. She darted the other direction and began to shoot more arrows at pirates.
“Take this!” Ash yelled, running to a pirate and lifting her arms, making bats appear and fly at the pirate. He swatted them off and tried to swing his sword at her, but she showed her powerful fangs, and they sent the sword flying into the water on impact.
“Huh?” the pirate looked around for his sword.
“You might want to run now.” the vampire said with a spooky tone. The pirate yelled and sped into the water, leaving Ash chuckling and running to another pirate. Jake shot into his dragon form and whipped some pirates off with his tail.
“We can keep the boat moving!” Shade yelled, talking about him and Raffi. They both ran on different sides of the airship and started to control the water again, making the airship begin to move faster.
“That’s the last of the pirates!” called out Kevin as he had clashed swords with a pirate and then kicked him back onto his boat. But then, lighting shot as ‘fuel’ for the ship and sent the pirate ship flying, very farther ahead than them.
“Oh no…” breathed Garnet as they sped ahead.
“Keep moving, keep moving!” Cid yelled. Jake decided to steal their idea and shot fire from his hands to make the airship faster, but they all knew the pirate ship would beat them.
Archie walked into his main quarters, a woman standing on the large chair where he would normally sit. Many pirates were behind him.
“Now, I thank you for all the planning, the location of the hero, and your powers to speed up the ship, but I’m afraid you’ve outlived your usefulness,” Archie explained, turning to his pirates, “Now arrest Aruella!”
And it was true. The woman standing, leading the AAA at this moment was Aruella, grinning them all down. However, Archie’s order didn’t mean anything and the pirates stayed in place.
“What is the matter with you, you heard my orders!” Archie barked.
“It’s because they haven’t made up their minds. They’re waiting to see how this will end…” answered the lightning-lady.
“What are you talking about?” asked the captain.
“I can see your whole history in your eyes. You were born with nothing, so you’ve had to struggle, and connive, and claw your way to power.” Aruella began to explain. Archie worriedly looked at her and sweat beads began to form on his face.
“But true power, the divine right to rule, is something you’re born with. The fact is, they don’t know which one of us is going to be sitting on high command and which one is going to be bowing down. But I know… and you know.” Aruella answered, turning to the ‘throne’ and sitting down. Archie wanted to say something, but was speechless.
“Well?” she asked him in a smug tone. Archie then gave in.
“You’ve beaten me at my own game.” he walked to the throne and bowed down to him.
“Don’t flatter yourself. You were never even a player.” Aruella answered. The pirate ship then took an abrupt stop.
“We’re at Spiral Island!” a pirate yelled down.
“Archie, bring back the hero. We’ll turn him in to the higher up from Maelstrom’s loss.” Aruella told Archie, who nodded and turned away. He looked back slightly, giving Aruella a dirty look, and then continuing his walk out.
“You can see the island there, and their boat’s still there!” Kevin pointed the location out in the distance. Jake stopped using fire and Shade and Raffi slowed down their water power once at the shores.
“Come on, we might not be too late!” Jake called out, jumping off the ship, the others racing behind him. A few stayed back on the airship.
“Sorry, but you are too late.” Aruella muttered to herself, watching the group from a hidden location on her ship. The group caught up to Archie carrying a figure with him over his shoulders. Some other pirates were with Archie, too.
“Out of my way, we’re taking the hero with us.” he said in a bitter tone, still annoyed at the events brought on with him and Aruella. The hero was tied up in some ropes and unconscious.
“No, we’re going to rescue him and then he’ll join our group!” Garnet said a little angrily in return. Archie scowled at them and revealed his brass knuckles.
“You wouldn’t want to have to answer to these, now would you?” Archie said with a grin. They all answered by getting into a battle position.
“What should we do, sir?” a pirate asked Archie.
“Take the boy back to the ship, I’ll deal with these guys.” the captain handed the two pirates the hero and pulled out his large scimitar, “Let’s do it.” Archie ran to the wall off the cave and punched it, causing a small cave in.
“Watch out!” Garnet yelled, running to where the rock was beginning to collapse on them and controlled the earth back in place, “Get out!” they all nodded and began to retreat, Archie chasing after them. Garnet gave up on saving the cave and started to run out, too.
“There’s the hero!” Kevin pointed out. Jake ran ahead and shot fire at the ground near a pirate, startling him and sending him running. Florence kicked the other pirate into a nearby bush and Kevin lifted the hero.
“Great, now let’s take him back!” Shade said. Archie finally caught up to them, however, holding onto Garnet.
“Set down the hero and I’ll give you back the girl.” he said viciously, holding his brass knuckles to her neck. They all groaned and Kevin agreed, setting the hero down and walking away a little. Archie let go of Garnet and pushed her back to the group. As Archie made his way to pick up the hero, Shade ran ahead.
“Too bad!” Shade yelled and controlled water into an ice block and sent it at Archie. He punched it into shards, which gave Shade a good moment to jump over Archie and attacked his pressure points, sending him flying to the ground.
“Actually, it’s too bad for you…” Aruella’s voice became apparent as she jumped out of the pirate ship and lunged to the hero.
“Aruella!” Florence said in a shocked tone. She grinned at them and shot lightning downward from her two fingers, sending Aruella, holding the hero, back onto the pirate ship. The two pirates from before had picked up Archie and lifted him onto the ship before Aruella go on.
“We’ve got to go!” yelled Jake as they all made their way back to the airship. They began to chase after the pirate ship, but were too far away.
“Cid, is there anything else we can use to get to them?” Raffi asked Kevin’s cousin.
“Yes, I do…” he said, pressing a button at the control panel. A mechanism appeared out from the floor and it looked like it would shoot a large-sized grappling hook to the pirate ship.
“Will it make it that far?” Ash asked Cid, who simply shrugged and launched it. Luckily, it broke through the pirate ship, but didn’t make a hole close enough to the water so that it would sink.
“Who can make it across fast enough?” wondered Garnet, a little worried they would get it out before someone would get across.
“I guess you all get to see today where my 8 years of gymnastics pays off!” Shade answered, quickly back flipping onto the mechanism and then running, sprinting even, across the rope line.
“Wow.” gasped Florence.
“Hey, we’d better get across, too.” Raffi realized. Kevin nodded and they both ran to the edge of the airship, near the rope, and jumped across, landing on ice that they formed and chasing after Shade.
“I’ve got an idea to help Shade.” said Kevin to Raffi, who nodded. At the end of the area, Shade launched up into the air, but Raffi created a large mist field to the pirates couldn’t see, but Shade still could see them from above.
“Yeah! Thanks guys!” he thought, jumping from each pirate head to the next. Shade made his way to the upper part of the pirate ship, where Aruella was steering and Archie was slowly regaining movement.
“You…” she said a little angrily. The hero was close to Archie.
“So Aruella, are you going to fight me one-on-one, or run away before I can attack you?” Shade wondered in a cruel tone, controlling water from below and sent it to Aruella. She simply shot a big of lightning that traveled on the stream of water.
“Heheh…” chuckled Aruella, but Shade turned the water around so that the lightning would go back to her. Aruella just swatted the lightning out of the way.
“Shade!” Raffi and Kevin called down, waving to him from their location. Shade nodded and slid under Aruella, making her trip. He ran to the hero, grabbed him, and tossed him over the edge. Archie grinned when this happened.
“Catch him!” Shade yelled. Raffi used a large water bit to shoot out from the water and ‘grab’ the hero while Kevin quickly froze it over so that the hero wouldn’t keep sinking through the water. Raffi controlled the ice covering the hero to chip off and controlled it to go onto their airship.
“We got him!” Ash’s voice called out to Shade, who smirked to Aruella.
“Then it’s time to leave.” answered the frozen dragon. Shade flipped onto the ropes holding the sail and sped to the long rope connecting the two boats. Halfway running back through the rope, Shade controlled water through the rope and continued the rest of the way to the airship by the water he was controlling.
“You all failed!” Aruella yelled angrily, lightning sparks beginning to coat the pirate ship as the airship made its way very far away from them, “You can keep your stupid pirates, they’re all worthless!” the lightning surged around her and she vanished. Archie began to chuckle and got to her feet.
“She should know only I am the leader of the Aquamarine Alpha Alliance! And the only ‘failure’ to getting that hero was me.” Archie grinned smartly and raised his right hand to his pirates, who all cheered. They then set said the opposite direction of the group.
“What happened…?” the hero was gaining conscious. Everyone around him smiled of relief.
“You’re on an airship, which is on the water. We saved you from the brute who tried to take you.” Florence explained. The hero completely was awake now, but wary of the situation he was in.
“Are you sure? Because I remember a prophecy telling of my need to leave the ocean land where I once lived and--” he tried to explain, but Kevin shook his head and showed him the note the hero had left in his homeland.
“We know you had to come to this island and wait for the ‘heroes’, and that’s us.” Jake explained. The hero realized this and then nodded.
“Well then I’d better tell you my name. I’m Tempest, and I’m a magician.” answered Tempest.
“It’s nice to meet you.” Garnet said first. They all greeted themselves to him, too, and he felt truly welcome. Tempest had on a blue cloak which covered a simple tan pants and shirt. His black hair stuck up a little and one of it created a comb over on one of his green eyes.
“So, do you have a problem with this airship flying?” Tempest asked Cid.
“Yeah, we’re out of fuel.” he answered nervously. Tempest pulled out an old book and held it with his right hand.
“Well that’s no problem. Show me where the fuel gauge is.” the hero said. Cid led him there and Tempest pressed his open hand on a page in the book. An icon appeared above it and Tempest put his open hand through it, creating fuel for the ship to fill it to the brim.
“That was amazing!” Cid said and Tempest laughed a little modestly.
“Well thank you. Hopefully I use it well in battles.” Tempest told Cid as they went to the top of the airship.
“Okay everyone, we’re off!” Cid called out, sending the airship back into the air and back on its way.
First of all, chapter 17 was pretty sweet. This review is mostly for the new chapter, though, so I'll leave it at that.
"Aquatic Vengeance" is a wonderful title, to begin with. It's really good in relation to the rest of the chapter, which is quite good itself. (Although Ash taking a bite out of the rat was a little off-putting... I guess vampires would do that, though... possibly. I dunno. I was like EWWW)
This Tempest dude is pretty sweet as well. And he can refuel things... that would help out a lot given current US gas prices. Any way I can possibly resurrect him...?
I'm glad you updated, though. I've actually been working on my boring lil' fanfic every day for the past two weeks in some way, shape, or form, so perhaps I'll have it up someday so you're not alone in updating. xD Wonderful job, once again!
I know I’ve gotten here fast, but I’m wanting to get CU done for a certain fan-fic… it will be awesome.
Chapter 19: The Last Chance (Part 1): The Crash
The airship was tugging along its way as usual, fully fueled by the newcomer to the alliance.
“So Shade, now that we have the two heroes, what are we supposed to do now?” wondered Kevin, turning to Shade.
“Well, you guys told me that the sages told you about a big battle in the future, and Garnet and Tempest helping us. They might know when that is.” Shade answered with a shrug.
“Get that annoying Dark Shade out, then, and he can go back to the Mirror Chamber. Meanwhile, we’ll have to talk to the others on planning for this battle.” the swordsman decided. Kevin walked off after Shade nodded and made Dark Shade appear.
“Eee hee hee hee!” he giggled, “What do you need, sunshine?” Dark Shade asked in a silly tone, making Shade groan a little.
“We have the two new heroes; we need the sage’s guidance once more. When will our big battle take place and where?” Shade told Dark Shade. He simply nodded and waved with a big smile, pixilating into the air and off he went.
“So, planning would be a good thing to do now.” Kevin said. Cid decided to turn the direction back to home.
“We’re going to probably need the help of a few allies. Considering Geo and his group helped us with Maelstrom, they’ll probably help again.” noted Florence.
“We also have Elaine on our side, so she might be able to influence the AAA on our side. Aruella did seem like she was controlling the pirates in a bad way.” suggested Raffi as she shrugged her shoulders.
“Anyone else?” Ash wondered and they all thought a while.
“I guess not.” Tempest shrugged his shoulders slightly.
“Hopefully Dark Shade will be back soon.” the princess muttered, letting out a yawn. It was morning now.
“But what we’ve got to wonder is who will be on their side.” Kevin said, looking up at the cloudy sky.
“Well we already saw Aruella and Maelstrom…” Shade said, “And many other people have been killed, so I’m really not so sure.”
“You can’t think… Dante survived?” wondered Jake. They all got silent, or quieter than before, at this comment. Shade simply shook his head.
“She was rotting to the core, there’s no way she could have survived after the green crystal was used. I’m sure of it.” he answered, looking down and then back up.
“You’re right. Anyway, we’d better get back to planning.” Florence decided to say after this awkward silence. They started planning while the airship continued on its way home.
Dark Shade eventually came back, letting them know that they would have to see the sages in person for their answer, but on the way home, they had planned for some of them to get new supplies and others go recruit for the battle. Shade, Kevin, and Tempest went to the Mirror Chamber.
“Sages, we’ve come to heed your words!” Kevin called out. The five spirits appeared in front of the small group. The three of them bowed in return to the spirits.
“Your location is on an artificial rocky island down in the ocean between South America and Africa and is a little above Antarctica.” one sage told them.
“If it’s artificial and you know about it already, that must mean the battle is soon.” Tempest turned and said.
“Yes, but YOU will be the ones invading. They won’t have it planned; it will be a sneak attack, so you won’t have to wait for them to come to your doorsteps to battle.” another sage told the group.
“Wow, for once, we’ll be doing the attacking.” Shade said, feeling a little better.
“Good luck heroes.” the sages bowed down again and slowly vanished. The three of them left the Mirror Chamber, getting back to the airship.
The group with Raffi and Florence were at a weapons store area.
The rest were working on recruiting Giovanni/his group and the AAA. Both were successful and the entire invasion force was all ready on a beach area. The original group from before were all on Cid’s airship, which they decided would be best in the water. Giovanni and his group took two ships, and then the AAA took two other ships. The four ships were all the pirate’s ships.
“Okay, guys. This is the rest before the battle.” Shade said in a little speech as they made their way through the waters.
“Doesn’t it look like a good time for everyone to get ready?” Florence suggested and they all nodded, going under the deck and changing and getting ready. Garnet and Tempest were the only ones not changing, being they were only in the group for a little time and they were fine with what they had now.
Shade came out first, with his typical red bandana changed. It was now a white bandana covered in light blue icicle patterns and normal blue wave patterns. His attire included a light blue coat lined with white fur at the ends and a white wave print in the chest area. His sleeves were slightly too big for him and his coat completely covered the similar short-sleeved shirt under it. His coat also slightly covered his dark blue pants and these pants covered most of the brown boots he had on. Even though they were boots, they were very light, and he would be able to run on a line like in the battle with Aruella. Lastly, Shade had dual pouches on his back that he would fill with water.
Florence came out next, dressed in a green chi-chi print outfit with a small skirt that continued with chi-chi print pants. On her back was her old bow and in her hands were crossbows, two of them. They were loaded fully with arrows, so she didn’t need a quiver, even if she wanted to switch back to her old bow.
Jake’s attire was fiery, consisting of red and black. It was a simple kimono-like outfit and was mostly a light red with black line designs swirling about on it. The loose shirt and pants he had on underneath were black.
Kevin had on a knight’s outfit, more of an icy color than a plain silver/gray color though.
Ash kept her outfit simple, as well, more of what she had before but with her bat wings more apparent and a dark cape.
Lastly, Raffi had on a flower and a ribbon in her hair as well as sleeves that didn’t completely cover her arms with a small, polka-dot dress. She also had on toe socks and simple pants and shoes. Her new weapon was a wand in her heir line with a star on it. Raffi also had one pouch to be filled with water.
(A/N: Yeah, I just stole your recent Gaia appearance. XD)
“We’re almost there, everyone.” Florence pointed out. Shade and Raffi trailed to the side of the airship and controlled water to completely fill their pouches so that they were all ready. The artificial island had a rather large wall surrounding it, but it was more like mountainous walls rather than actual walls.
“Come on.” Raffi told Shade, leaping off the front of the ship and trailing to a little part of the island where they could stand, but weren’t on the inside of the island.
“Alright, we’ve got a good plan, so we’ll go with it.” Shade said to Raffi, who nodded. Once the boats were all close enough, they took a little jump back.
“NOW!” they both yelled, quickly moving their arms up and down, in a circle. This was making the water under the ships go higher, so that the two of them could control the water to push the ships over the mountains on the shoreline.
“See you soon!” Kevin yelled down to the two of them, controlling an icy protection over the two of them so that the water wouldn’t flood over them. Luckily, all five ships made it across and crashed on the rocky ground on the other side.
“Let’s join them, now.” Raffi agreed to Shade and they shattered the ice barrier, controlling water from the ocean to push them up and across the rocky wall. Once the ships had gone across the rocks, they fell on their sides and everyone got out. The island was coated with Lai Di agents and Twilight monsters. Elaine, dressed in pirate attire, too, was standing on top of the tipped over pirate ship.
“Attack!” she called out, making it the starting call for everyone to yell out and lash out in the battle.
Pirates and gecko warriors versus spirit rock controllers and Twili beasts. This would be a memorable fight. The main group was all holding back for now and waited until Shade and Raffi were with them.
“Lai Di are definitely under Aruella’s control, but Twili monsters? I thought they were all gone with Zant!” Shade said, watching.
“We can’t do thinking, this is an invasion! Go!” Kevin sped ahead, running past the pirates and swinging his sword through a giant Twilit monster.
“Let’s see how well these babies work.” Florence muttered, running around the rocky mountain line and shooting multiple arrows from her crossbows. They were very quick and very powerful. Jake jumped into the air and turned into his dragon form.
“Everyone, reveal secret weapons!” he called down to them. Everyone stopped attacking for a moment and giant wings appeared on their backs. They were mechanical, of course, but they were completely functional and looked quite real. Jake’s were lined on the inside of his real dragon wings.
“Star power, go!” Raffi twirled about in the air and shot multiple blasts from the star at the end of her wand, sending harsh attacks at the enemy, especially the Twili monsters, due to the light of the star blasts.
“Hahaha…” Ash chuckled evilly, darting quickly from Lai Di agent to Lai Di agent, sucking the blood from each one as fast as she could, sending them collapsed to the ground.
“Watch this…” Shade muttered to himself, running through the line of Lai Di agents, using pressure points as quickly as he could when he sped by each person and they would collapse on the ground. In the middle of the area, he used his dragoon wings to fly into the air and went in a circle, controlling the ocean water to make two big waves and crash over some of the enemy that were close to the sides.
“Hyah!” the pirate princess ran through the group, holding a pirate sword and a dagger, swiftly moving in the large crowd and quickly attacking the enemies.
“Fireball!” the magician was also using the dragoon wings to float in the air, holding his magic spell book in his left hand and touching the book, putting his right hand through the fiery imprint that lifted from the book. Once Tempest moved his hand to the Lai Di and Twilit monsters, fireballs fell and shot them.
“Summon, Ramuh!” Garnet was staying back pretty far from the battle, twirling her summoning racquet and then making the electric god appear, throwing his staff to the ground and sending lightning to it and the battlefield.
“Try an earth attack, and try it with me!” a familiar female voice said as she ran next to Garnet. It was the blind elf, Toph!
“Alright, a rock slide!” the princess decided. Toph nodded and they both moved their hands a little and punched the rocky walls, making many rocks fall and collapse onto the enemies. Some of it got propelled back, though, by other Lai Di agents.
“Heavy fist!” Archie yelled, swinging his right arm to smack a Twili beast in the face with his brass knuckles. He grinned and then leaped into the air, doing the same thing to a Lai Di agent in the face.
“Take this!” Geo continued to shoot sludge attacks from his gloves. A few others from his tribe were next to him and doing the same thing, but this wasn’t as effective on the Twili monsters as it was to Lai Di agents.
“Look ahead, everyone!” Jake yelled, pointing to a location that would most likely be the center of the whole island. Shade got as close as he could, avoiding a rock being flung his way and then looking ahead.
“That’s got to be where the leaders are!” he called out, seeing a little roof-like thing that was clearly concealing something.
“Let’s go!” Florence yelled out, shooting her crossbows and flying down close. Toph controlled a large wall of rock to send her to the other side of the mountain while Garnet stayed on her side and controlled the earth underneath her to push her along.
“We’ll stay here and keep command of the army!” Archie called up to the group. Elaine, on the other hand, had been moving so swiftly in attacking Lai Di and Twili monsters, she was almost at the area.
“Good luck!” yelled Geo before he swung his machete at a Lai Di and pushed another one back with the end of the weapon and shooting him with sludge. Kevin was swiftly controlling as much ice on to rocks being sent his way so that he could control the ice on them to control the whole rock.
“Watch out, Florence!” Shade yelled to his girlfriend, flying over and controlling his pouch water to cover them both and turn into water. When the rock heading their way hit the ice barrier, the ice shattered and the rock flew back to the ground. Shade controlled the shattered ice barrier to shoot down to the battlefield in an icy rain. He controlled more ocean water into his pouches.
“Thanks!” thanked Florence as she quickly kissed Shade on the cheek and they both flew off to the location Jake noticed.
“Boy, maybe we should have waited to take out more in the army…” muttered Ash as she narrowly dodged a blast from a Twili monster going her way, “I can’t even use my vampire skills on those things, anyway.”
“Yeah, this is getting tough. Hey, we’re almost there, though.” Raffi told Ash, pushing her out of the way and smashing a rock with her star wand, sending it into many rocky pieces that fell to the ground. Kevin flew as fast as he could through the speeding rocks headed to everyone flying about.
“Stupid…” he groaned, spinning in the air and slicing a rock to the ground with his sword. Jake flew by him in dragon form and breathed fire over the rocks headed to them and shot fireballs from his hands at specific people.
“We can all do this is we work together!” Jake yelled to everyone, curling up into a ball and unleashing a large fiery attack around the area once he got out of it. Kevin created a sheet of ice to cover under him and a rock smashed into it. Shade and Raffi controlled the icicle parts to shoot at the roof that was covering something and it ripped apart. A dark hole had now taken its place.
“Aruella and the others have got to be under the island though that!” Shade yelled and pointed to the location. He pulled out his water and whipped it around him so that when he went back down into the fight with the Lai Di and Twili monsters, he wouldn’t be killed and would be able to beat some of the enemies.
“Here I go!” Raffi called out, controlling water to coat the star part of her wand. She froze it over and then blasted a star blast, which also had the ice around it. It crashed and made a nice spot where she could land and be able to fight back and get to the hole. Eventually, everyone made it through the hole as Toph and Garnet went in last, closing up the hole with their rock powers so that they couldn’t be followed.
“It’s really dark in here…” Garnet muttered a little sadly.
“Jake, you and I can do fire.” Tempest’s voice said. Jake lit up a small flame and the sound of Tempest flipping through his book could be heard until a fireball floated onto his right/free hand. Jake made the fire in his hand brighter, too.
“Come on, all we have is this tunnel for a long while.” Toph told everyone, leading the way. The two casting fire followed close behind and everyone else ran close behind, too.
The group had been traveling for a very long time.
“We’re… almost there…” Toph said, slowing down, “There’s a big gap here, help me out, Garnet.” she said to the princess. She walked over and they both filled the hole until the end.
“Let’s continue on!” Kevin said in a determined way. The others nodded and Toph led the way once more. She stopped quickly and told Tempest and Jake to shine the fire at the thing stopping them to continue.
“It’s a large door.” Florence noticed.
“I think we can all bust it down if we all try.” Raffi said. They all agreed and prepared whatever powers that they had. One large attack from this slammed the metal door down and the flames blew away. They all sped in carefully to the darkened room with something ready in case they got hit.
“Turn on the lights.” Aruella’s distinctive voice said to no-one-in-particular. Lights shot on and Aruella and Maelstrom were standing there.
“How could you two haul such a massive army?” wondered Ash, making Aruella smirk and chuckle a little.
“We didn’t.” Maelstrom answered first.
“Come on out, show who has been helping us,” Aruella told the others who weren’t there, “First, we have a villain during the first war: Luvia Bloodmire.” the rocky wall opened up and the high-heels the familiar woman had on made a noise as she walked by.
“But… we killed you!” Florence said in a shocked tone.
“Yes, and then I got resurrected, so I could kill more people and make monsters…” Luvia answered with an evil look on her face.
“And speaking of resurrection, here’s another person the master revived…” Maelstrom said as Twilight pixels formed Zant. Shade shot back in fear.
“H-How!?” he called out. Zant didn’t answer and simply watched him.
“You know, Shade. Most enemies have been really deep to you, like Zant. Here’s another one.” Aruella said as an old woman walked out of the wall where Luvia Bloodmire had come out from.
“Hana!” Kevin noticed, remembering be controlled by her.
“I didn’t expect to get out of jail, but this group helped me get out so I could beat you guys again.” the old woman answered.
“Is that all?” Tempest was able to ask. Everyone else was too afraid, being too familiar with this group.
“No. We have my sister, who came to the future a way different from me.” Aruella explained.
“You’re from the future…?” Ash was confused by her comment.
“Yes. I went through time travel the normal way by hibernating in the Spirit World. I was lucky enough Florence woke me up at the right time,” she explained, “and my sister stole bodies to get to the future she’s in now.” they all shot back a little, this sounding all too familiar. A rocky throne slowly turned around and the girl stood up, standing in the middle of the group.
“Dante!” the body she stole from Lyla was the one she was still in and she had the dress that she had when Josh was killed. She was staring at them with her typical evil grin.
The end! =D I don’t think I’m going to do an epilogue, though. And there’s WAY too much action in the ‘finales’ of CU. So… you know, be warned. I do too much of it, SORRY. XD
Chapter 20: The Last Chance (Part 2): Countdown to Destruction
“So, do you want to just stand there gaping at us, or do you want to continue this battle?” Dante asked in her usual dark tone.
“We… we can’t win. So many of our enemies… and we barely beat them before. We can’t do it.” Shade said a little sorrowfully. Aruella laughed loudly and cruelly.
“Backing down, are we? I knew this many enemies would frighten you.” she said with an evil grin.
“No, we can win. It’s all of us, we have the two heroes. We even have Toph back. And Elaine is here to help us.” Florence said in a little bit of a pep-talk way.
“No, you’ll completely lose. No doubt.” Luvia said darkly, also holding an evil little smile on her face. Elaine just turned to Dante.
“This is a rematch I’ve been waiting for.” she said, remembering how Dante used her and almost took over her body.
“Me too.” Florence noted, looking at Aruella.
“Then come and get us.” Zant was able to say. Shade shook off his stiffness, but was still sweating a little bit.
“Let’s go! Go, everyone!” Kevin decided to yell, even though everyone was waiting for Shade to make the call. Elaine shot first at Dante, who clapped her hands and made her right arm coated with rock so she could stop the sword.
“You forgot something.” Elaine answered with a smirk, pulling out her dagger and throwing it at Dante. Zant shot his arm in the way of where the dagger was going and showed his arm from the long sleeve, showing that it landed on the end of his finger.
“Nice try.” the master of the group said evilly and made her rock hand go away. They both darted back and went back into battle. Florence aimed her crossbows at Aruella, who shot dual lightning bolts to cancel out the two arrows headed her way.
“None of you will win, give up now.” Aruella said with a serious look on her face. Florence pointed her crossbow at Aruella, but then she uncontrollably moved her aim to Raffi. Hana was controlling her moves to do this.
“Raff, look out!” she yelled. Raffi noticed and controlled Florence’s arm to aim at Hana and an arrow headed her way. Hana controlled water in the air to make a long stream of water and push the arrow out of the way from her path. Kevin ran over to Maelstrom and pulled out his sword.
“You went from a Christmas hating villain into a normal villain.” Kevin said in between hits from his sword and Maelstrom’s dark attacks.
“And you’re turning from a normal person to a dead person.” he answered, shooting his dark shadow to Kevin to keep him in place. Maelstrom swung his hand to Kevin, unleashing a dark sphere at him.
“Hah, nice try!” Kevin yelled, breathing ice all over the dark attack. It was now coated in ice and when he was out of Maelstrom’s clutches, he controlled the ice to smash against his face. Ash ran over to Luvia’s location.
“I may be a vampire, but I’ve heard about you, and you’re worse off than me.” Ash said, glaring at her. Luvia just smirked and then turned into her black, beast form.
“No, I’m better off. With this much power, I’m better off than anyone in the world.” Luvia said, letting out a roar and then lunging at Ash. She punched Luvia out of the way and flew into the air and landed a kick to her face. Raffi turned back to Hana and controlled out her pouch water.
“Shade held his own against you, so can I.” she told Hana, who smirked under all her hair.
“I disagree.” Hana took control of Raffi’s own water and tried to whip her across the face with it. Raffi pulled out her star wand and hit a blast, which sent the water to the ground. Raffi pulled the water back up and successfully hit Hana’s leg to trip her over. Tempest and Garnet weren’t attacking yet, preparing a big hit.
“Come on, Shade. Come and get me.” Zant said in a very calm way to Shade, who was already breathing heavily and sweating more.
“I… I don’t know if I can…” Shade said a little hopelessly. Zant chuckled a little and pulled out his swords and lunged at Shade. He controlled his pouch water and froze it, but his swords shattered the ice and he smacked against the wall and went down instantly. His pouch water had leaked all around him. Shade looked up from the ground a little hazily at Zant and then slowly closed his eyes.
“Shade!” Garnet and Tempest yelled. Before Zant could stab Shade, Garnet sped some rocks at him and then twirled her racquet a little.
“Ark! My most powerful summon, I hope you work!” Garnet said a little worriedly. The room darkened a little bit and then shined normal, nothing happening.
“Icicle!” Tempest ran out and cast this spell, which hit Zant directly in the face and back away from Shade a little.
“I… I failed. How could my summon not work?” the princess wondered a little sadly.
“Garnet, focus!” yelled Tempest back at her. He cast a lightning bolt at Zant, which he deflected into the wall.
“REEOOWWW!!!” Zant screeched, returning into his crazy self, rushing quickly at Tempest. Garnet had already summoned Ifrit to use a fiery attack on Zant before he got to Tempest. From Shade’s shadow, Dark Shade appeared and looked at Shade worriedly.
“Shade, get up!” his opposite yelled at him, “Ugh… you told me not to give this to you, but so many enemies got you weak, and you have to.” Dark Shade muttered, controlling the Fused Lights out of his inventory.
“Uhh…” groaned Shade as Dark Shade slowly put the four pieces in the right spots.
“I hope this works and gets you conscious…” muttered Dark Shade, quickly returning to Shade’s shadow.
The Fused Lights shined the whole room and made everyone pause their attacking. Shade slowly woke up once in his Angelic form, looking at himself as he was floating in the air.
“I still might not have my full confidence back, but I’ll do what I can.” Shade said, looking down with his eyes closed and then looking up. His Angelic form had his sky blue hair making a comb-over from his right eye.
“Regardless of your change, you won’t beat us.” Dante answered, clapping her hands and sending a long, blue stream of lightning at Shade. He controlled the water that was on the ground around him to go up and stop the lightning hit.
“I won’t be in this form much longer.” Shade said to everyone. He then floated to the ground, but quickly darted his hands into the air, as a loud swishing noise could be heard above them. Once his hands quickly went down, water began to leak in through holes made by the pressure Shade used on the water. His light quickly vanished and the Fused Lights fell off his normal form.
“Don’t get distracted, keep battling!” called out Aruella to the evil group, so they all returned to battling. Shade, now determined, sped to Hana and began to help out Raffi. The water had just recently completely covered the ground of the area.
“So, three water controllers.” muttered Raffi, looking at Shade.
“It doesn’t matter. I’m the older and more experienced one.” Hana said, controlling a ring of water to rise up and circle both Shade and Raffi. They both controlled it out of them and controlled their pouch water to go out and after Hana, but she just froze them over.
“Hahaha…” laughed Shade, Raffi now holding up all the ice. Shade froze over Hana’s feet and Raffi dropped the ice, controlling the water from the ground to bind her hands with ice. Shade hit Hana’s pressure points in case she would escape and Raffi used her star wand to send Hana back with a blast.
“I’ll stay here, you help the others.” Raffi told Shade, who nodded and ran over next to Ash, who was very easily handling the situation with Luvia Bloodmire.
“How you doing!?” he called out to Ash, anyway, as she punched Luvia across the face.
“I can take her fine, just don’t let this water rise too high!” she called back before sending a swarm of bats to annoy Luvia. The water was basically over everyone’s feet now, but wasn’t affecting movement yet. Shade controlled the water to propel him to Maelstrom, Kevin having a little trouble, being controlled by the shadow of his opponent.
“Let me help!” Shade yelled, controlling a wave of water to push Maelstrom back, pulling Kevin out of his grip. Kevin gave him thumbs up and swung his sword at Maelstrom, who narrowly avoided it.
“Take this!” the dark man said, shooting another large shadow blast at the two. Shade tried to stop it with water, but the blast went right through it. Kevin carefully moved his sword in front of his face so that the blast could bounce from the metal on his sword back to Maelstrom. He moved out of the way so he wouldn’t get hit, making it open for Kevin to attack.
“Ice Blast!” he controlled a large chunk of ice in front of his right hand and shot it at Maelstrom, who fell back. Shade and Kevin nodded and Shade ran off.
“Zant!” Shade yelled, making his way back to the Twilit enemy. Garnet and Tempest were easily taking Zant down with their abilities, but Zant pulled back by swinging his swords at the two, who jumped back. Shade quickly ran over and controlled water in front of Zant to fly up and smack Zant in the face.
“Thanks, Shade.” Garnet thanked, taking her racquet into both her hands now, starting a summon. Shiva appeared and froze the water around Zant, so he couldn’t move.
“Stay, help us out!” the magician asked, pressing his right index and middle fingers on his spell book and plants with thorns shot out from the ground and wrapped entirely around Zant’s body.
“Sorry, I have to help the others.” he answered, speeding from his location to Florence and Aruella’s fight now. Aruella shot a blast of lightning at Florence, but she flew up in the air for a moment and shot some arrows at Aruella, which she narrowly avoided by ducking and moving to the side. Shade ran ahead and tried to pressure point her, which she was carefully avoiding. Aruella punched Shade back through the center of his chest, which made him fly back a little.
“You two are the most annoying people I’ve met.” Aruella muttered, a sweat drop sliding down the side of her head, “Luckily, I actually do have another power I’ve kept hidden.” Aruella grinned and ran toward them, doing a little kick and shooting blue flames at them.
(A/N: I couldn’t help myself, now she’s a full-blown Azula clone. Sorry! XD)
“Hey!” Florence called out, while Shade simply lifted a wave of water, which made the water and fire combine into steam.
“Blue fire, shoot.” groaned Shade, making Aruella return with her typical evil grin. Aruella darted her gloved hand forward and prepared another lightning strike, but Florence dropped her crossbows and pulled out her original bow. She quickly grabbed a bow and shot it at Aruella’s hand, making it move and the lightning blast hit the water/ground near her and sent her flying back a little.
“Shade, go, I know what I’m doing!” Florence yelled, putting her old bow back on her back and pulling up her crossbows from the water, shooting at where Aruella had fallen. Dante and Elaine weren’t fighting each other; Elaine was fighting two of her rocky minions.
“Shade!” Elaine called out and he waved before moving his arms up and making a stream of water break through the center of a rocky minion, breaking in into the water. Shade ran in front of Elaine now, raising a large amount of water from under the rocky minion, flipping him down on his back, which almost destroyed it. Shade controlled the water he rose and shot it through the rocky minion, which then killed it.
“Dante…” muttered Shade in a deadly tone. Elaine realized the situation and ran next to Shade, showing her sword. Dante closed her eyes and chuckled, and then opened them, sending a shockwave to them, which knocked them both back a little.
“You couldn’t take me before and you can’t do it again. I’m not rotting anymore, thanks to Zant’s help. A group of these evil people were going past and decided to help me, so they knew that the Twilight King Zant could use his Twilight powers to form artificial parts of my body over my flesh, so that this body would be mine forever.” explained Dante right before she clapped her hands quickly and aimed to the water, making two hands go up and grab them. Shade struggled for a moment, but then was able to push his fingers to the rock. This broke the rock like the power of a pressure point attack. Shade turned to Elaine and controlled water to break through her water.
“We’ve all gotten stronger. We’re more powerful than you!” barked back the pink-haired pirate princess. Shade lifted his right arm to stop Elaine from charging at Dante.
“Elaine, I know she tried to take your body,” Shade began, “But this revenge is mine.” he glared at Dante, who smirked evilly, clapped her hands, and then sent an electrical voltage at Shade. Shade lifted water, which bounced back at Dante. She clapped her hands again, making a rock wall appear and taking the blow.
“Nice try.” Dante muttered, but didn’t notice that the water was so high, Shade had swum at a super fast speed under the water and frozen Dante on the spot, shooting up from the water.
“Surprise.” a smirk formed on Shade’s face now as Dante got wide-eyed when Shade pressure pointed through the ice shrouding part of her, making her float to the top. Shade chuckled and made a wave to push Dante back far until she hit the wall. The water had now reached heights where everyone had to tread water.
“We’ve got to escape, Dante!” Aruella yelled back to her sister, who got up very slowly. She nodded and called it out,
“Retreat plan, everyone! Retreat!” Dante yelled out. The enemies did one big blow to knock everyone back. Hana controlled the water to move the heroes and heroines to the entrance half of the area and made a giant wall of ice to separate them.
“Get rid of the water.” Zant told her. A door opened up in the back and Hana quickly controlled it out, a hidden hole appearing that they jumped into one-by-one. When the last person, Zant, went in, twilight shot from it and any trace of it was gone. Kevin was able to break the ice wall enough that the water would leak through and they could stand again.
“Hey, I just realized… Toph and Jake aren’t here!” Raffi quickly noticed, looking around.
“I think that since Toph can’t swim, the two of them just went back.” answered Ash with a little shrug. They were all a little sad about what had happened and eventually left the ‘lair’ of the villains.
“Yeah, there they are!” Garnet pointed to where Jake and Toph were looking at a somewhat deserted battlefield. Many of the killed Twilight beasts turned into pixels and vanished, so most of the enemies left were unconscious Lai Di or the ones who couldn’t escape.
“So… now what do we do?” wondered Elaine in a saddened way.
“We go home… and wait.” Jake decided to say, looking down.
“That’s really the only option we have, anyway.” Florence took in a deep breath and sadly sighed it out, taking off her gloves and just dropping them on the ground.
“Umm, Florence, didn’t you tell us about a dragon birthmark on your right hand?” Tempest asked, making everyone a little confused.
“Yeah, why?” Florence asked. Everyone had looked a bit taken aback and Tempest pointed at her right hand. She looked and then gasped. It wasn’t as bright as before and almost gone. She could only see it because it was so close to her.
“It’s vanished!” gasped Jake. They all nodded.
“Well… this might be a good thing. It can take away my painful memories of the Huntsclan, mainly Huntsdad…” she muttered, shivering a little.
“Hey, why don’t we just go home now then?” suggested Toph with a shrug, “Seeing as I survived, I’ve got work tomorrow at the Underground Railroad.” they all agreed and walked off, Florence and Shade trailing behind, as Shade had been completely silent. Florence just went over and gave him a little hug.
“Thanks for doing such a good job!” she said a little happily. Shade turned away for a moment and then sighed.
“Florence, I’m going after them.” Shade answered.
“Of course you will be, but not right now.” she began to shake her head to make sure her boyfriend wouldn’t be leaving. Shade shook his head, too.
“No, not now. But when I do, I don’t want anything tying me down, anyone to be in any danger. There are too many enemies, too many which were made off of MY wellbeing. No one else is going to be at risk.” Shade said in a determined way.
“What are you saying?” Florence asked, a little worriedly. Shade turned back to her a little seriously.
“Our relationship is now on hold. Until they are all rid from this world. I’m sorry.” without anything else, Shade walked away and used his pouch water to control himself over the mountains until he ran on the water back home on his own.
“N…No…” Florence whispered, looking at her birthmark. It was now completely gone. She held her arm and began sobbing before she dropped down on her knees.
From the island, the secondary plan had gone into effect because of the retreat plan…
QWERTYkid911: It's 2021 and I've been thinking this show premise still has so much potential. It had a good run, but I feel like it never really lived up to how good it could be.
