Chapter 5: Back to school.....and Jenny. Sam hadn't slept, but then again, he was used to that. He had got up at 7:00 in the morning, showered, and then practically tore the clothes draws apart looking for his uniform. Five miutes later, he remembered that these schools didn't have uniforms. By this time, he also remembered that he needed to get into school earlier to sign up. He got fully dressed and packed his schoolbag, and went downstairs to get his breakfast of cerial and orange juice. On his way down,, he glanced over at a photograph on the wall. It showed his grandfather on holiday in Switzerland. He felt a starnge warmth spread across his chest, and it was a feeling he knew well. He tore his eyes away and went into the kitchen, where he got his breakfast and sat down. He had to suppress this feeling of intense sadness. It usually led to a mixture of anger and sadness, and they did not go well together. "If only I had listned to him that day......he'd still be here" he thought angrily, and then realsied that he was still holding the bowl of cerial, which by now had gone soggy. Disgusted, he threw it in the bin. He had lost his appetite now anyway. He picked up his bag, walked out the door and locked it. He forced the thoughts to the back of his head, turned round and set off towards the school. He was much earlier than he needed to be, but he needed the fresh air, and it would give him time to calm down. There were hardly any other school kids around, and that was how he preffered it right now. He didn't feel like talking at the moment. But by the time he reached the school, he felt better and was looking forward to seeing Jenny again. He walked up the steps and into the main hallway and stopped outside the principle's office. He had to get used to calling them Principle's and not Headmasters. He knocked at the door and a womans voice replied "Come in". He opened the door to see a lady in a wheelchair behind the desk. "Yes?" she asked. Sam closed the door and explained about why he was here. She listned, took out a file and found his record. After that, he signed his name in the school registry, and was told to see a 'Professor Rotwood' in C2 for his timetable. He emerged from the office, and after getting lost a couple of times and eventually having to ask the janitor, he arrived and knocked on the door of C2. A strict voice with a German accent told him to enter. Five minutes later he came out holding his timetable and the code to his locker. Sam had come to the conclusion that Professor Rotwood was the kind of teacher with a short temper. He had also been very excited at the fact that Sam could speak German. More people had arrived now, and were milling around waiting fo the bell to go. He walked up to his locker, put the code in on the dial, and shoved his backpack in. As he was taking his pens out, he noticed a person walking towards him, it was Jenny, and she hadn't noticed him yet. He quickly took out his mobile and selected the "Be there before you know it" one and sent it to her phone. He heard the beeping of her phone and quietly looked over her shoulder at it. "I really should re-word that." he said suddenly, and she turned around. She looked as though she had seen a ghost at first, then she leaped at him and he caught her in a hug."Told you I'd be here before you knew it!" he said. It was one of those romantic moments that peope thought should last forever, but as usual fate stuck it's nose in, and the bell rang. Sam walked along the corridoor with her, and they checked their timetable's. "I've got.....maths." Jenny said, folding it up and putting it into her pocket, "You?" "I've got.......er.....mythology." he said puzzled. Jenny gave him a sumpathetic look. "Good luck, you'll need it." He walked into the classroom to see Professor Rotwood behind the desk. He sat down at the back, and watched as Jake entered with two other people, who he guessed were his friends. Rotwood then stood up, and announced to the class. Jake noticed that Sam was looking totally shocked as Rotwood said "Good morning class, today we will continue our studies into the mysteries of the dragon." ----------------------------------------Will update ASAP

Nice chapter. Keep it up. I like Sam's reaction at the end of the chapter when he finds out about Rotwood's, shall I say, obsession.

Here is another chapter.
Chapter 6: First Training
The rest of the school day passed uneventfully. It made no difference where in the world you were, school always dragged. Sam had been very surprised and puzzled about Professor Rotwood apparant knowledge as to the exsistance of dragons, but decided a few minutes later that he was no threat, as he had insisted to the class that dragons had glow-in-the-dark claws and scales that smelt of lavender. After that, there had been the usual boring subjects. He was ashamed to admit it, but so far mythology had been the highlight of the day. Apart from in mythology, Jake hadn't really seen Sam at all that day, and it was only as he was walking down the steps at the front of the school with Trixie and Spud tht he saw him. He was already on his way home, and he was walking with Jenny. "Yo, look at that." Trixie said, pointing. "HE's asked her out at some point, so why don't YOU ask Rose out?" she asked, jabbing Jake in the arm. "Trixie, she tried to kill me on more than one occaision, and it's too late now, we could have talked it over, but it's been too long." Jake answered. Now it was Spud's turn, "Its never too late for love, dude. Believe me, I know". Jake ignored him, and they got on their skateboards and headed towards the shop. When they arrived, Jake said goodbye and went in. He and Sam both had training that afternoon. "Jake, is Sam with you?" he heard Laoshi's voice call out from the back. "No gramps, he said he'd be here though." he answered. "Well, he'd better hurry up, training will begin in 10 minutes." Laoshi called back. Jake walked round the counter to the back to get ready, and as he did so, he was thinking. "Maybe I should talk to Rose, see if there is any chance.....". His thoughts were interupted by the sound of the door opening and someone walking in. Jake looked around the corner to see that it was Sam. "Yo, back here!" Jake called, and five minutes later, he, Sam, Fu and Laoshi were upstairs in the training room. "First of all, I must assess your dragon abilities." Laoshi said, and training commenced.
An hour later, Sam emerged from the shop. Laoshi was a far more serious master than his grandfather had ever been. First, Fu had 'made' some enemies for him to battle by mixing up some magical ingrediants, and they had the ability to dissolve then reappear somewhere else. Then he had to practice his moves on a dummy, and then he was put through some kind of excersise that involved him 'freeing his mind' by tying himself in knots, and in way's in which he had no idea the dragon AND human body could do. He was still thinking about it when he bumped into Jenny, who had been waiting for him outside. As they walked home, Sam said "You know, my parents don't arrive for another week. Would you like to come over to my house for a while?". Jenny smiled at him and said gently "Well, what a coincidence, my parents are away on business.". As they arrived at the door to Sams house, Sam asked "Is that a 'Yes' then?". Jenny slid her hand into his. "What do you think?". Sam smiled and they walked up the steps together.

Okay, here we go. --------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7: The Night of love
As they arrived back at Sam's house, Jenny gave Sam a hug. "It's good to have you back" she sighed. Sam looked into her blue eye's and replied "It's great to be back with you again", reaching for the door key in his pocket. He unlocked the door and they walked in, and as Sam shut the door, the sound echoed around the house. Jenny looked around. "Where is everyone?" she asked as Sam tossed his school bag into the cupboard. "My parents are not arriving for another week," he replied. "We've got the whole place to ourselves." Sam walked into the living room, then into the kitchen to make some drinks. While he was searching the cupboards, he glanced up at the kitchen wall clock. It was 14:10. They had walked home together chatting, and he had only just realized how slow they must have walked. He eventually filled the glasses and took them back to the living room, where he found Jenny sitting on the sofa watching her favorite program. They both had very different ideas about what made a good TV program, and Jenny knew that Sam didn't like it. "Oh great, you're not watching that now are you?" he asked. "Do you want me to switch it off?" she asked. When Sam nodded, she waved the remote in front of him and said "Make me." Sam put down the drinks and suddenly charged at her. She was more agile than him and dodged. Sam ended up in a heap on the sofa. She tossed the remote to one side and, placing her hands on his shoulders, pinned him. "Give up?" she asked softly as she leant down to look into his eyes. "Definitely." Sam replied as he looked back into her own eyes. Then the air seemed much more still, and they both leaned in close and kissed for the first time. The kiss went on and on, neither of them wanting the moment to end, and as though it would never come again. When they finally released each other, Sam gasped for air, as through the duration of the kiss, he had not been able top breathe. "......wow....." he gasped looking into her eyes. He had never been happier in his life. Then, jenny suddenly threw her arms around Sam and hugged him tightly. Afterwards, she looked at him with a look of mock thought. "In about 10 seconds, I think that you are going to say that you love me." Sam gently stroked her cheek and replied "Why wait that long.......I love you.". If he had been slightly embarrassed about saying that before, he wasn't now, the time was right. "I did from the moment I met you. " he continued, feeling his face flush with emotion. Jenny merely looked at him and then snuggled into his shoulder.
A few hours later, Sam stretched and yawned. They had been sitting there for over three hours, neither of them wanted to do anything else but be with each other. Jenny looked at the clock and said "I'm tired, lets go to bed." Sam got up, and switching the lights off replied "Okay, you take the bed upstairs, I'll have the couch.". Jenny shook her head and looked at him. "No, sleep with me.". Sam looked happy for a moment then said "No, I shouldn't......I mean I.....", then Jenny kissed his cheek and Sam relaxed. "Okay, whatever's good with you.". He then followed her upstairs. By the time he had finished changing in the bathroom, he found jenny already on one side of his bed. He walked over and layed down on the top. His head had only just made contact with the pillow when he felt jenny snuggle up against his side. He leant over and kissed her, and at the same time, her hand moved over his chest and began to stroke his side. She noticed his reaction and said "You like that, don't you?". When he nodded, she moved her hand up and pressed one of the pressure points that only dragons have. It was a very pleasant feeling for Sam that sent shivers down his spine, and unfortunately also caused him to change into his dragon form. "Ooh...erm...sorry about that!" Sam stammered, looking embarrassed. Jenny just regarded him and asked "Why? You look very sexy in your dragon form, and dark blue suits you." she purred, also changing into her dragon form. Sam watched as her human form was replaced by her peach colored dragon form. "Isn't it funny, that you're an ice dragon, but you're still hot." Sam mused, flirting with her. Jenny lowered her head and blew a long frosty breath onto Sam's chest. Sam couldn't stop himself letting out a sigh of pleasure before he placed his hands on her head and began to kiss her. She gently rolled over, so she was now on top of Sam. Even if he had wanted to, which he didn't, escape was now impossible. "Gotcha" jenny whispered, just loud enough so that Sam's dragon ears would pick it up. Sam wrapped one arm round her shoulder, while the other still stroked her side. "Wrong!" he countered, pulling her closer. As Sam continued to stroke her and kiss her, a single thought was drifting through his mind. "This'll be a night to remember!" He felt her tail curl around his, then his senses went wild as jenny started to gently scratch the back of Sam's dragon ears, which was a major turn-on for male dragons, and still kissing her, he gently turned off the lamp for total privacy.

Chapter 8: Jake's Decision The next day, Jake noticed that something seemed wrong with Sam. He hardly noticed anyone else as he walked into school with jenny, entered the wrong code for his locker three times and had trouble remembering what to get out and put in. Jake knew that these were the common symptoms of a great night with a girlfriend, and a few minutes later, managed to catch up with him. "Hey Sam, how was it?". Sam seemed to snap out of the trance and looked at Jake quizzically, "How was what?". Jake gave him a knowing look and replied "I saw you walking home with that Jenny yesterday. She stayed round your house". Sam relaxed and looked dreamy but didn't reply. "Did you two have.... you know...?" Jake asked, curiously. Sam looked around quickly and hastened to reply "No, no, no! We're nowhere near ready for that". Sam then turned to Jake and asked "Do you have a girl friend?". Jake had known that sooner or later this question would come, and he had dreaded it. "No....I mean yes.....well, I used to." he replied as he remembered his relationship with rose. He remembered the night of the Huntslcan's Grand Equinox hunt, and how he had been captured and at the last moment revealed who he really was to rose. She had set him free but run away, she even transfered schools. He had never seen her again. Sam noted the look of sadness on Jake's face and asked "What happened?" then quickly added "If you don't mind me asking?". Jake knew what would happen if he answered. It had been the same with everyone, first the look of shock, then the 'It's a good job you two split up' attitude. "She was......a member of the Huntsclan." he replied, bracing himself for the same treatment from Sam. In fact, Sam couldn't have done anything more unpredictable. "So?" Sam asked, and when Jake looked shocked he explained, "You two are enemies by profession, but what are you by that?" Sam asked, pointing at Jake's heart. Jake didn't answer, he didn't have one. The bell rang shortly afterwards and Sam had headed off towards his first lesson, leaving Jake standing in the same spot, deep in thought. He knew where rose was. On one of his families occasional trips camping, which was usually his fathers idea, as they were driving through some small and lonely village in the middle of nowhere, he had seen her. "He's right." Jake thought. While it was true that they were enemies by profession, he still loved her deep down, it had just been buried under the false feeling of hate for her trying to kill him. His mind was made up, after school that day he was going to go and find her, and put things right between them. --------------------------------------------------- I will update ASAP!

Chapter 9: Rose
Rose had just got in from school. School life around here was dull at best, and it was just....to quiet! She had got so used to the sounds of New York City 24/7 that at the time, she barely seemed to notice. But now it was different. The only sounds around this place was the occasional bird and the even more occasional traffic. She sighed and looked around. The small one floor house she lived in was empty. Of course it was, she didn't share with anyone, and the only person who really called to talk to her was the landlord on payday. She threw her bag into the corner and went into the bathroom to wash.
Jake was fed up at the moment, as he felt as though he was walking in circles. He had arrived at the place he had spotted Rose by the local bus, and had walked around for about half an hour before asking someone for directions. He said he was looking for a girl named Rose. The old woman had just looked at him and replied "Sorry, there ain't no roses growing around here!". After three more attempts to try to tell her that he was not looking for a flower, Jake had decided to take his chances. It was a small town, and looked almost impossible to get lost in, but every street looked the same, even the dry patches on the grass looked similar, and there were no road signs anywhere. He eventually arrived at a service station, where he was told someone had moved into the town quite a while back. He also managed to get the address of the landlord, and from him, after about half an hour, managed to obtain the address of the house. He practically ran the whole way, until he came to a small house with the number '1134' on the door. He took a deep breath, and knocked at the door.
Rose had just finished dressing when she heard a knock on the door. She wasn't expecting anyone, and it wasn't payday. She brushed her hair back, opened the door.....and gasped. Jake long, her old boyfriend and the American Dragon, was standing there, hands in pockets and looking uncertain. "Hello Rose." he said. He sounded uncertain, and looked on edge, as if she might suddenly attack him without warning. Rose found herself feeling the same uncertancy. "Um...hi...Jake" she answered back. After 3 years, he hadn't changed much. He had the same hairstyle and wore the same style clothes as he had always worn. "Listen Rose, can I talk to you?" Jake asked shifting on the step. At the sight of two old ladies across the street sitting in chairs on the lawn and staring at them, Rose gestured for Jake to come inside. They stood looking at each other for about a minute, each waiting for the other to speak. "Rose, I came to ask you to forgive me" Jake said suddenly. Rose couldn't have been more shocked at that. Forgive him!?! What had he done? She had very nearly killed him, and here he was now asking for forgiveness. Her puzzlement slipped out. "Forgive you? For what?" she asked. "For being what I am, a dragon." he said. "I would have told you earlier, but then I found out you were in the Huntsclan and thought you would kill me". Rose looked distressed. "I very nearly DID kill you. I'm the one who should be sorry, and then I ran away to protect you". Jake looked at her. "Protect me from what.....the Huntsclan? Oh Please! I managed to survive when you were there, and I would have survived if you had left them but stayed in NYC." he said to her. "They would have used me to get to you. You know I love you, and the Huntsmaster knows that you love me. He knows that you would risk everything to save me, that's why I left." Jake felt a long dormant warmth for her reignite when she said 'You know I love you....', and then he spoke again. "Rose, you mean more to me than anything, you could have killed me, but you didn't. I want to be with you again.....please come back". Rose looked surprised, "You'd want me back, after all I have done?". Jake nodded, then; "Think about it, I'll leave you now. Thanks for hearing me out.", and turned towards the door. He felt a hand on his arm and turned to Rose, who was looking into his eyes. They looked at each other for about ten seconds, then fell into each others arms. Jake didn't need to ask what Rose's decision was, somehow he already knew. Rose had her head buried in Jake's shoulder, and he felt her kiss his neck gently. He leveled his eyes with her and kissed her. The kiss was long, and they both held onto it. Then, as they parted, although he already knew the answer, he asked her "So, will you come back, now that you know I am not going to kill you?". Rose looked around the room for a moment, then back at Jake, smiling. "Yes." she answered, and moved into her room, removing a suitcase from the cupboard. Jake now looked surprised, "You mean.....you're coming now....with me?". "Of course I am!" she said, "I couldn't stand not going with you". Jake smiled happily, and went to help Rose pack. He felt at that moment as though nothing else mattered, and that thought was reinforced when Rose hugged him again. Rose was so happy. She felt as though she had been given a second chance, but she knew that Jake would have said it wasn't. She continued to pack, looking forward to the future.

Thank you, here is another chapter.
Chapter 10: Double Trouble
Sam was walking towards Jenny's house. Training that day had been called off because Jake had had to sort something out with a friend f his. At least, thats what he had heard. As he continued to walk, he noticed that the park was very empty for this time of day. It was the middle of summer at six o'clock in the evening. Any other night, the park would still be full. He dismissed this, thinking that this was probably normal in America. He still couldn't quite believe he was here, and it had occured to him that it may just be a dream, and that any moment, he would wake up, back at home. He stopped on a small wooden bridge and watched the ducks down on the river below. The sound of the water was so calming, he leant against the railings and continued to look down the river.
A short distance away, behind one of the many thick tree trunks, a large, shadowy figure regarded the boy standing on the bridge. He felt a feeling of hatred in him for the boy, although deep down there was a spark. That spark was what had stopped him from actually killing the boy long ago. He realized he had done it again, he had let his mind wander from the task. He stamped out the spark, although he was sure that it would still be there somewhere, and took a small glass flask from a pouch. It contained a luminous purple liquid. He took the cork out and swallowed the mixture in one gulp. It tasted absoulutly repulsive, but for what it was worth, and the fun it would bring, it was worth it. He shut his eyes as he felt his body shake, his whole form convulsed as the potion took effect. He was feeling nausious, but it soon faded. He opened his eyes and examined his body. He was wearing the same clothes as the boy, was the same size and shape as the boy. He spoke softly. He even sounded like the boy. He took a moment to congratulate himself on his handiwork, not many people had successfully and safely combined shapeshifter and a voice changer potions without blowing up. Satisfyed, he stepped out and began to walk towards the boy.
Sam became aware that someone was walking in his direction. This is it, he thought, people are coming out now. He turned toward the person, and froze. He was staring at himself. An exact copy of him was standing there, staring back at him. He couldn't work it out, it didn't make sense. Was he hallucinating, how was this happening? "Remember me?" the other Sam said, with a slightly malevolent tone in his voice. "I remember you. I remember how I came to your house and destroyed your grandfather." he continued, still staring straight into Sam's eyes. The answer hit him It was the Dark Dragon! Somehow he had copied him. At the same time, the Drak Dragon hit him, transforming his hand into Sam's dragon form hand. It caught him right under the chin and the claws intensified the damage. Sam was sent flying backward, crashed through the old wooden railings of the bridge and falling to the bank below. The answer came to him as he faded out of consiousness. 'A shapeshifter and voice changer potion!' he thought absent mindedly, as the world turned colourless and faded.
The Dark Dragon surveyed his work. "He'll have broken his neck" he muttered to himself. The next second, he found himself sighing "A pity". Disgusted with himself, he headed back the opposite way from where the boy had been heading. He had the perfect cover. It would be a long time before the boy was discovered, as the wind had already blown leaves over him. He continued walking with an evil grin on his face. He arrived at his destinaton and went through the door of the shop called 'Canal Street Electronics', the home and training area of the American Dragon, and his master, Laoshi.

Chapter 11: The Hostage Laoshi was walking down the stairs from the roof where he had just finished a training session with Jake, who had chosen to fly home. As he reached the bottom, he noticed Fu sitting at the desk with his potion making equipment out, muttering to himself, "...some unicorn hair...and to finish off, crushed pearl". Noticing Laoshi, he turned round and explained. "A luck potion. Big Earnie wanted one....oohh, I think I'll try a bit first." he said taking a sip. At the sound of the shop door opening and closing, Laoshi looked round and saw Sam walk through the door and through the dividing curtain. "Ahh, good evening yo....." he began, but was cut off as Sam lashed out with a kick that sent him flying back into the wall. Fu just sat and stared is disbelief as he watched Sam change into his dragon form and renew his attack on Laoshi. He suddenly remembered his animal guardian duties to Laoshi and jumped down to help, but at that moment, Sam held Laoshi, still in human form for some reason, and put a sharp claw to his throat. He stopped dead and tried to find some way to help him, but he couldn't see any. "You can either go get Jake...." Sam said, and pressed the claw closer to Laoshi's throat, "...or you can stand there and watch him die." he continued in a cool but malevolent voice. Laoshi struggled, but was held firm by Sam's grip. "...don't...." he said to Fu. This time, Sam pressed the claw in so much, it drew blood. "OK, OK!" stammered Fu as he ran out of the door. "What do you want?" growled Laoshi. Sam smiled at hims and replied "What I want is to get my claws on the American Dragon and finish the job, and just to make sure you don't get in the way of things..." he said as he threaded a strand of sphinx hair into the cut on Laoshi's neck. "....we are going to play a hostage game." Fu was running at full speed on all fours towards Jake's house. 'Where did I go wrong?' he thought as he dodged through the many feet of people, 'Was it the pearls?'. He rushed up the stairs to Jake's house and hammered on the door. To his disappointment, Hailey answered the door "Oh, hi Fu!" she said grinning. Fu regained some breath then started. "Hailey, where's Jake, Sam's gone mad I tell you, he's threatening to kill gramps if he doesn't come!". Hailey's mouth fell open, "You mean that other boy from England?" she said as the ran up the stairs towards Jake's room. "Bingo" Fu said grimly. They both burst through Jake's bedroom door. He had been listening to music, and looked annoyed as they came in, but the look of annoyance was soon replaced by one of horror as Fu explained what was happening. They all ran downstairs together, but Jake shut the door before Hailey could get through, and heard her muttering in annoyance as he ran down the stairs and followed Fu to the shop. At the same moment, not far away, Trixie and Spud were skating home through the park. They had just come from the skate park and it was getting dark. "Honestly, I don't know how you can go through that many falls and not get a headache!" she was saying to Spud, who's helmet now showed new scratch marks. The continued skating along until Trixie stopped and looked at her phone. For the past 10 minutes she had been trying to call Jake, but he wasn't answering. She leant against the railings of the bride out of the park and tried Sam's mobile, maybe Jake was with him, training or something. She hit the call button and then looked around as she heard Sam's ringtone. There was no one around. It continued ringing until she looked down. There was a mobile phone laying on the ground below, and next to that, almost completely covered by leaves, was a body. Spud followed her gaze, then looked up at the railings. "Oh man, that can't be good!" he said, pointing at the spot where they had been broken. They rushed down to the body. It was Sam, and he was cut up badly. "We'd better get him to Jake's gramps, he'll know what to do!" Trixie said as she took a hold of his arm. He groaned and opened his eyes. "......dark dragon....." he said, gasping. Trixie and Spud looked at each other as he got to his feet. "Definitely not good!" Spud said as they began to run towards the shop. --------------------------------------------------------- I will update again soon.
