^Very nice saying, Really this is mostly a sad and somewhat a happy day for ppl. For those who died, i'm sorry they did. My dad risk his life helping out the firefighters to get many people he can. I didn't see my dad until like 7pm that night. Got me worried, but he was ok . I'm happy for that, however this was sad, and i didn't know about this until i got home at my grandmas house at 4pm. I walk in and i just saw it on the news. (I was in complete shock) I was in school during that time, that why i didn't know. . Live your life as if it was ur last day, because you will never know when something willl hit you in the back of the head. I pray for those who died, and went to heaven. 6 years have past, time can go fast. My quote saying "Life is a gift, don't ever waste it."

Where was everyone when the WTC was attacked, and how did you hear about it? I heard about it in school, but I didn't fully understand it until after school ended. I was shocked and sad for those who died.

It's been like 5 years GET OVER IT ALREADY. Lol sry it's so anoying! they act like evry 9/11 we're gonna get a attack or something. lol Ok, guys this thread isn't about her. What she said was really cruel but can we just concentrate on the point of the thread? Just ignore her. Aaaaaaanyways. September 11th was probably the most scary things that happened to my family. I was only in third grade when it happened. I live so close to NYC I was scared something was gonna happen to me. Also, the towers were my absolute favorite part of the city. I loved how shiney the were (what I'm serious) Also, we're so lucky that my dad's alive. He worked in one of the buildings next to the WTC but thank the lord he was late to work (my sister didn't have any clean underwear so he had to wash a pair for her.) Since cell phones didn't work immediately after the first attack, my mom and uncle could't contact him and were terrified that something happened to him. Also, afterwards when the economy shot down, the company my dad worked for shut down and he was out of work for nearly two years. Those were extremely hard times for my family... Still, the worst that could of happened is if we lost someone in our family, or one of our friends. I'm so grateful it didn't happed. God bless the people who died, and their families.

Veronika: ... I'm sorry, but that pissed me off.
Anyways, I was at home, actually. *being that I'm in Alaska. HAHA* And we got to school and it was all silent and yeah ... That day was just pure silence.

You can't simply say Get Over it Already, this event is still haunting the world unless Osama and the Al-Qaeda cell is finally destroyed. September 11 not only haunts the entire US, but it also haunts elsewhere around the world sometimes, such as the Christians who saw that pity after all that massacre amount of civilians died in the collapse of the World Trade Centre.

It will take a generation for Americans and millions of citizens of other countries to fully "get over" 9-11. 9-11 was a horror for a great number of reasons, but the greatest is the fact that the US was vulnerable. People continuously want to think that they are safe, but that is rarely true. The most haunting fact is that it wasn't an attack on a military outpost, but an attack on a group of civilians who had no recourse. The collapse took the lives of not only the thousands of people trapped in the towers, but also the First Responders, Firefighters, Police officers and EMTs who were in the buildings. These people ran toward the danger, and their deaths are a sobering reminder that every time I start the truck, I may not be coming back alive from a call. 9-11 was a day that juxtaposed true malice and true bravery. Much like 12-7-41, it is a day that should be remembered for years to come.

i DID NOT mean my thing as an insult i ment it as we should pray for the people that died and not worry about a nother attack! It wasn;t that i was sick of hearing about it, i was sick of hearing "we're gonna get bombed" thing every 9/11.
I wasn't saying ANYTHING about the people! For crying out loud i spent 30 mins praying for those people on 9/11!

Oh please, you people are being too childish. She was merely imposing her opinion - - a thing all us Americans can do. This thread is entitled "9/11," is it not? So talk about it. Not about her.
(you don't see me saying crap about the people who insult Bush)
Maybe she just put her words in the wrong way?
I don't believe she meant "get over 9/11," so to speak.
"It's been like 5 years GET OVER IT ALREADY. Lol sry it's so anoying! they act like evry 9/11 we're gonna get a attack or something. lol"
I never saw anything pertaining to 'getting over the date' itself in there. Thus proving my point here:
"It wasn;t that i was sick of hearing about it, i was sick of hearing "we're gonna get bombed" thing every 9/11. "
She believes it wouldn't be plausible for terrorists to attack again.
I think that maybe if some of you knew how to -read- properly, you wouldn't be led to such assumptions. Next time, do a little better. =)
@ Dragon Master!: There's no need to say such things about someone. This is an intellectual thread devoted to world topics - - not a "BASH ALLYSSA LOLOLOLOLO!!!!11!!" one. I've lost a little respect for you.
9/11 is a time of grief, mourning, and recognition of that terrible, awakening moment in America. It was something that made everyone, not just in America, filled with anguish and fear. America has braved through the tragedy to find herself stronger than ever.

^Well put. Also,Alyssa,it appears you are fourteen. At age eight it may have been hard to understand the impact. Some of us (as well as I) are older and may feel a little more significance to 9/11.Or maybe you weren't affected as much. But remember to watch what you type as people can misinterpret what we say sometimes.Although I didn't lose anyone or anything,I feel for those who did.
