Recently, schools have been making classic games like Tag, Dodgeball, and other rough activities illicit. In many schools, recess has been banned and "human contact" is outlawed to prevent lawsuits.
What I've got to say about it: isn't the point of Physical Education to be... well, physical?
[stupidity]
What's going to happen to the students who don't receive their daily exercise?
Pretty soon lawyers will be sueing teachers for not allowing students to exercise. It's a vicious, endless cycle.
What's you opinion?

It's not bad enough that they're "outlawing" Dodgeball and other rough kid games, but some elementary schools are just cutting out their recess periods altogether. The worst thing you could do to young kids who are restless and need time to just run around and be kids is keep them in a classroom and drill them with standardized tests or preparations for standardized tests.
Digressing from that, though. While it's not really as though stuff like dodgeball and tackle-football aren't the only means a child can get exercise during recess or P.E., it's just stupid to see them banned for the reasons they are.
Is it really setting a good example for kids when you show them if you get hurt -- either physically or emotionally -- in the slightest, you can just throw a lawsuit at it to make it better? Band-aids or just a hug and some kind words from your parent(s) seemed to work fine before.

It's crazy, so what if you get a bruise? Big woop! it was never a big deal when we got hurt at our school, it was shut up and deal with it.

All I can say is "bad move". Childhood obesity rates are already skyrocketing, if kids are not allowed to play even Tag or Dodgeball, more and more will become overweight. This is going to come back to bite the schools in the a**. Getting hurt is just part of the game. I remember the crazy football, soccer, tag and red a** (wallball) games I played back in elementary and middle school. No one sued if you got hurt, it was no biggie, you could just go to the nurse if it was bad.

That's just stupid, so, what are they going to do, read books in the library for the sake of safety?!

My goodness, what are these people thinking? Banning Physical Activities and Recess in schools? It's...just crazy.
Maybe we should have a game of dodgeball. Us here on the forums vs the people that are against physical activity. Maybe we'll hit them so hard that one of them will come to their senses. XD
But in all seriousness, I agree with everyone. Banning physical activities (mainly recess) is just telling thekids to "go inside and watch TV". I can't believe that people would go so far to do this. I mean, we all remember the time we went through elementary school. We played dodgeball, we didn't get hurt majorly, and when we did get hurt, it was either a burn from the contact of the rubber "ball of death" or we just simply tripped and fell, hitting something like our arms or something. I mean, come on! No one has died from doing physical activities! There's nothing wrong with having a little physical activity during school! Also, if this happens, then there's bound to be more lawsuits because there's no physical activities in schools. Man, people just can't make up their minds, can they?
I willing to bet that those people who are filing the lawsuits just want an excuse so that they can sue for "damages or personal injury". But, that's my opinion anyway.

If they're so much towards safety, why not if a protest happens, will those authorities feel pain from parents? What are they trying to do, shoot them?! Imagine if those authorities put into the kids' shoes and feels a school life without fun and games, what do you think? Authority people, ask yourself, is it worth it to do such actions?

well my school banned dodgeball and football but that was because some people got seiriously hurt .....like paralyzed.
In my school we don't have recess but you are required to do 2 sports a year. So ou get lots of exercise. I did here a rumor about recesses getting shorter and shorter....
banning recess is stupid

My sister now has only 15 minutes of recess everyday (it was 25) and gym only once a week. Although in my school we have and hour and a half of gym every other day.

^ Very understable, Man if they do that, not enough kids may not get the excrise they get, to be stronger. I know learning is important, but once in a while, u need fun in there .

It's balanced. Here's a simple term which the government should know, no matter whether is it for the library or not.
All work & no play makes Jake a dull boy.

In my school, recess is around 15 min, and we can't stay in the class room, play soccer, and do anything else except eat in the canteen. In lunch time (around 30 min), we're allowed to do anything.

Its just plain stupidity. The world has become so money orientated (more than ever) that the slightlest thing happens and someone has to sue someone else for all they've got with the lawsuits...whats the point? Its crazy.
