First fanfic here sooo......, hope all you peeps enjoy , one thing that should be mentioned, ive been writing this for a while now, and I started writing it before homecoming, so this fanfic takes place pretty much just before. Destined to fail,Some people are meant to be together, some people find love by mistake, some ignore it altogether, but for some people, just when they believe they have found the right person, fate will continue to conspire against themSome things just arent meant to be...Chapter 1A thick layer of impermiable fog loomed over the rugged but beatiful landscape of central park, home to countless insects, hundreds of small furry mamals, and unknown to the local residents, serveral centuar herds. Tonight however, there was one resident of the park who didnt belong, a young female member of the huntsclan, sat silently in the shadows against the bark of an oak tree, alone with her thoughts. Not far above the park, but still hidden due to the dense haze, was a very concerned dragon, circling the park seeking the girl who only 15 minutes before, had ran crying from the roof of his grandfathers shop. The crimson dragon persistently scoured the terain with searching eyes, “Rose!”, again his cries were unanswered, and he continued his search. His slender scaled ear twitched as he heard sobbing below him, he sighed and descended through the tree canopy, and was greeted with one of the sights he never wanted to see. Rose was slumped against a tree trunk, still crying, sobbing uncontrollably, and the worst thing was, he had no idea what was wrong. A small flash of flame, and Jake softly landed on the ground nearby in his human form, he slowly cleared his throat and made his presence known, “Rose?”. For a brief moment, all the sorrow disapeared from Roses grief stricken face and she grabed her discarded lance and smoothly spun it round to face Jake, reacting just as she had been trained to, when she realised it was only him, the only reply Jake received was the clatter of the lance falling back to the ground where it laid moments before, and the return of the stream of tears to Roses face. He slowly approached the sobbing huntsgirl and brushed the matted hair from in front of her face, “whats wrong?” Rose took some time before she could speak over her emotions, “you wouldnt understand” Jake paced his arm round her, “try me...” She briefly smiled, then pulled back her sleeve and stared at the mark on her hand coiling down to her arm with clear disgust. “this....., this is the problem...” Jake shook his head, “you know that means nothing” he assuread her, “it doesnt make you one of them..” “but THATS IT, it DOES mean im one of them, you dont understand do you!”, the sobbing returned, “youre not heartless, youre not a murderer, the mark cant make you do anythig you dont want to, it doesnt control you” This time rose shook her head, “every person born with the mark, has killed a dragon or died trying, desiny and fate arent something you can go against because you want to, and since you and your grandfather are two very good friends of mine who also happen to be fire breathing reptiles, I cant take a risk”, She looked up at him for the first time, her eyes were raw and swolen from crying, “I dont want either of you to be hurt” Before Jake could find the words to reply, she turned on her heel, scooping up her lance and her mask, placed the later firmly over her head, and disapeared into the surrounding fog. Jake sighed, feeling he was right back where he started, he slowly moved back into the centre of the clearing, and in a flaming flash of light, took off into the sky, mulling over his own thoughts on the flight home. Not taking into accont more recent events, Jake couldnt seem to figure out what had caused Roses sudden doubt if she was a good person, she seemed unsettled lately, and he was hoping she wouldnt get distracted, as one slip would expose them both. His thoughts were forcibly shoved to a far corner of his mind as he saw the girl in question in the street below him............., running from a huge 3 headed dog as fast as she could muster, and without hesitating he angled his wings straight downwards........ back at the shop, lao shi was getting impatient, he had been stalling his guests for the past two hours, but the three of them were determined to speak with Jake, had it been anyone else lao shi would have told them to get the hell out of his shop or he would refer them to the council for harrassment. Unfortunately these people WERE the council. “lao shi, where is master long, the council cannot spend all of its precious time waiting for one teenager, and my pacience grows thin” Lao shi laughed and shook his head slowly, “I thought you said this was far more then just an inspection councelor, you said this was a serious issue” “There have been serious concerns mentioned about young Mr long, which have been brought to the councils attention recently, and required investigation” Lao shi narrowed his eyes, if possible, more than they already were, “what kind of concerns” “The kind that would cause master long to form a friendship with a young female member of the huntsclan”, the councilman suddenly began to speak much more seriously, Lao shi swallowed hard, silently hoping that Jake would not be foolish enough to bring Rose back to the store tonight. “Jake would NEVER be so foolish” One of the other two female council members spoke for the first time “we will see”, Lao shi did not like her, she reminded him of chang....... “I will ask you one more time, how long must we wai.......” several things happened at once, first, the conversation ended abrubtly as the ground began to shake, then, to Lao shi's dismay, Rose darted straight past the store window, furiously dueling with none other than cerberus itself, with Jake hot on her heels fighting with her side by side, then all of a sudden there were several flashes inside the shop, and several toppled chairs and overturned tables later, there were four less dragons in the room than there was a few moments ago.

Hm... well, it started off well, but then it became a bit jumbled. Remember always to separate your paragraphs, and remember also that, in dialogue, you start a new paragraph when a different person talks. A few minor spelling errors here and there, but nothing TOO glaring. Also, when you are writing dialogue, the comma goes inside the quotations, like this: "Blah," rather than "Blah", ...believe me, I know- I used to do that myself.
But aside from this, it was not too bad. Just try and keep the momentum you had in the first few paragraphs going throughout the entire chapter, and you'll be fine!! =] Hope to hear from you in the form of an update soon!

thanks for the comments guys, really appreciated, well yeah, my proff-reading skills kinda suck, but ill try not to make AS many mistakes in future , well ive written up to chapter 5 right about now, and ill probably be posting one a day, so heres the second Chapter 2Rose furiously dodged from side to side as the trio of canine heads relentlessly lunged at her one after the other, each head sporting a pair of gleaming blood red eyes. Jake swooped overhead and lit a trail of flame along the creatures back. All three heads simaltaneously roared in agony, and with agility that didnt match the creatures size, the innermost head spun round and tried to close its massive jaws around the unsuspecting dragon, who barely managed to raise his arms and hind legs in time to prevent being swallowed whole. While Jake was struggling to keep the central heads jaws prised apart, the head placed to the left broke its attack off rose, and lunged straight for Jakes, long, serpentine, and very exposed neck. Instead of feeling jakes blood in its throat, the giant creature tasted its own as it bit down hard, only to have roses lance pierce the roof of its mouth and the bottom of its gums, pinning the jaws of the second head open. Sparing Jake for the moment, but left him still hanging in the jaws of the beast, and deprived rose of her means of defense, the remaining head saw its chance and snaped forward, only to have Lao Shi in dragon form wedge himself in between the open maw of the last head before it could close upon rose. You can imagine the surprise of the three council members, as they watched the scene unfold, leaving a legendary monster stood in the middle of an urban street, with all three of its jaws wedged open by two very scared dragons and the slowly cracking lance of a huntsclan member, with one very exausted member of the huntsclan staggering towards them, gasping for breath and sreaming, “Please, help them!” The two female councilmembers looked to their left, at the councilman who had only moments previously been questioning Jakes whereabouts. He nodded his large three horned head. The other two councilmembers flew into the air either side of the monster, hovering in middair as they placed their hands together and began to chant in unision, “Cerberus, you are in violation of your duty to guard the river styx, return now from whence you came” Green light engulfed cerberus, the lance in its central mouth finally gave way, the beast emmitted a final, ear splitting, blood curtling roar. Then dissapeared, leaving nothing but charred tarmac in its place. Jake and his grandfather fell to the ground, along with the shattered remains of Roses lance. The street was momentarily illuminated with flashes of fire, as flames engulfed the dragons, and they retured to their human forms, all except for the stern councilman, who remained in his dark blue scaled, draconian shape, staring with cold eyes at Rose as she stumbled to her feet. He signalled to the other two councilmembers, and they darted forward, grabed rose by both arms, and pinned her to the ground. She struggled against them futily for a moment before submitting to their vice like grip, the dark scaled council member slowly walked over to her, his claws clicking meacingly on the pavement, he kneeled down by Roses head to come face to face with her, the two female council members watched with blank expressions. His snout came within inches of Roses face, his sharp protruding fangs glinting in the glow of the streetlights. “So, you are the young nameless girl ive heard so much about” Rose spat right in between his eyes, Jake and Lao Shi stared in horror. “My name, is ROSE!” The dragon smiled, not such a friendly gesture given the closeness of his fangs to Roses face “Well rose, I am councilman Quan, a pleasure to meet you, young huntsgirl” Quans smile grew wider, and if possible, more menacing, “Let her GO!” Jake ran forward despite his grandfathers silent protests, and Quan stood as his piercing gaze moved swiftly from Rose to Jake. “Ah yes, young master Long, the very dragon I came to meet, to ask questions about a certain hunsclan member no less, and you deliver her too me, making my job that much easier, and for that, I thank you, now reamin SILENT!” Jake clenched his fist and it shook threateningly by his side, his fingernails thickening into sharp claws. Lao Shi stepped forward and placed his hand on Jakes shoulder, and slowly shook his head. “Counciler, I assure you, there is no need, she is not one of the huntsclan, she is with us” “Is that so Lao Shi?” He gestured to the two councilmembers, one pulled up Roses sleeve to expose the huntsclan symbol on her arm. “This says otherwise” Lao Shi swallowed hard, and fear filled his face, “Surely you are not here to......, you cannot......, you have no right” “Oh I have every right master Shi” He smild again. “What right, grandpa, what is he talking about?” Jakes voice sounded suddenly fearful “Do you not know young Mr. Long, perhaps you do not know our laws as well as you should, I am dissapointed” Lao Shi seemed frozen with fear. Quan walked towards Rose again. “Any person found bearing this mark”, he lifted Roses arm to display her unwanted bitrthmark, “is viable to being prosecuted by section theta 19 of the code laid down by the first council of dracos isle” “prosecution, what do you mean?” Quans slitted pupils became narrower “Excution, by claw and flame and everything the huntsclan swears to destroy” Jakes jaw dropped, “NO, YOU CANT!” This time he came face to face with Jake. “As a matter of fact I can......Jake” Tears began to well up in Jakes eyes, Rose simply stared into the sky, a single tear rolled down her face and landed on the tarmac.

Chapter 3
A dull crescent moon loomed over the sacred land known as draconis isle, the scenery graciously accepted whatever light the moon reluctantly shed. On the far side of the island, away from the recreational areas used during dragon summit and the council chambers, stood a lone stone building, seemingly in seclusion from the rest of the island. Partly built into the side of the volcanoe , rectangular in shape like an ancient fortress, but with no gates, bars, or doors of any kind, which seemed to contradict the design of the rest of the building. One of the few remaining magical prisons, this building did not require conventional bariers made of wood or metal to keep its occupants sealed inside. Maintained by just 3 dragons and around a dozen Gnome helpers, and for the moment, containing only a sole prisoner.
Rose lay in the room silent, unsure of what to think, she wanted to hate her captors, she thought it would be easier if her imprisonment were cruel, but the fact that they did not mistreat her, made it that much harder to accept. The guards had treated her well these past few days, they brought her well cooked generously sized meals, which were always collected later, untouched. The guard who was positioned at the end of her hall, whom she later learned to be called Ian, even had lengthy conversations with her when she asked for someone to talk to, and her room was not dirty or dark, it was well lit with many spelled candles, and had every necessity she could need. There were even no bars on the windows, just magical barriers that would stop her should she try to exit them, she hadn't even bothered to try.
It was certainly nicer than her room back at the academy.
The fact that she was being treated fairly further enforced the fact that these creatures, which she had been led to believe were cold blooded killers, were more so her allies and friends than those she had fought for most of her life. She had believed the huntsclans lies, she had trusted them, now she was going to die because of them.
She glanced at the clock again, Jake would be allowed inside shortly, he was allowed to see her for quarter of an hour each night as the moon waned, and the time of that varied, so he simply waited outside, barely 50 feet away, but through solid concrete, unable to speak to her.
Rose looked up as she heard a hollow bang, a kind of mixture of a bell ringing and glass cracking, which indicated that Jake had walked into the force field for the third night in a row. He looked surprised for a brief moment, but then allowed his face a brief smile before shifting into his dragon form in a flash of flame and stepping through the barrier unhindered.
“Forgot again did you?” Rose asked with a clearly forced smile.
“What, that the barrier will only allow dragons through, no, I was just testing to see if it was still there”, he too allowed himself a brief smile, to help him forget how hopeless the situation was.
“Still haven't found anything?” Rose asked almost pleadingly, but even before Jake shook his head she knew the answer.
“No”, Jake suddenly became very interested in the oriental carpet, “nothing”
Ever since Rose arrived on draconis isle two days ago as a prisoner, Jake and Fu had been at the islands archival chambers, a sort of library, which documented the entire history of the island, its inhabitants, and every law in immaculate detail. They had been searching for a loophole, a lost or forgotten amendment, anything that might help Rose get around Quans cruel prosecution, and Lao Shi was attempting to rally as much support for them as he could, hoping to sway the remaining councilmembers who still trusted him. But time was running out.
Rose was to be executed in four days.
“Did you at least find anything promising?”, Jakes face lifted a little, and that gave her some hope.
“More than we did yesterday, but none of it really helps, we found an amendment to the right of appeal and fair trail, but it turned out it only made the rights of any huntsclan member redundant. We found another loophole which means we could question Quans competency in office, and have a vote to have him forcibly removed, but the process takes two months, so not a lot of use right now. I did get hopeful when grandpa found an old law called Serims vow, it states that an individual can be released and appeal to have all charges dropped, if three people will give sworn testimony to that persons integrity, but then we found that the law only applies to dragons”
“So nothing that will help get me out of here?” Jake looked her in the eyes,
“Not yet, but I promise you, I WILL find a way to get you out of here” They hugged each other, neither knew how long for, until Ian stood in the doorway on the other side of the barrier and cleared his throat.
“Im sorry Jake, but you need to be gone before Quan makes his rounds, he will have my hide if your still here, and he's still looking for any excuse to drag you down with you friend here”. They reluctantly parted, and as Jake was exiting the prison, Ian placed a hand on his shoulder. “Listen Jake, for what its worth, I don't agree with Quan or his mindless lapdogs, Ive spoken with Rose a lot these past few days, I know what youve both been through, and I do believe shes turned her back on the huntsclan, Id stake my life on it, she's not one of them, and this needless prosecution is wrong. If I can do anything to help, ANYTHING, you don't hesitate to ask, you hear me?”.

After thanking Ian for his kindness, Jake took off to return to the library, the island wasnt especially large, and it was only a matter of minutes away. Saying the archival chambers were large would be an understatement, they resided in a huge cathederal shaped buiding, almost half a mile in height. It was masterfully built from white marble, with archways evenly spaced around the outside. It completely lacked a roof, since most of the islands residents used flight as a pimary means of transport, but had special barriers which refracted the wind and rain, shielding the many books and scrolls stored inside from the elements. Jake glided down to land next to the huge circular oak reading table in the centre of the stucture, surrounded by the hundreads of towering shelves. Fu was laid flat on the table, reading the same dusty old book Lao Shi had been scanning through the previous night. “Fu, gramps already checked that one” When Fu didnt reply, Jake walked over and took a closer look, and noticed the dog wasnt reading, he was sleeping. Cursing under his breath, Jake began to stride towards the snoring dog, intending to wake him, abrubtly, and remind him what they were here to do. But instead of taking out his anger on Fu as he would have liked to, he turned away and began pacing down one of the huge isles in the library, containing what must be millions of books in just one column, the place rose so high it was unbelieveable. Could one of these hold the answer?
Jake decided to pick a book almost and random, and spread his wings and soared upwards towards the higher shelves, maybe the answers were hidden up there?
But as he was ascending, a glint of gold caught his eye among the rugged grey and red leather bindings of the other books, and he quickly altered the speed of his wings so that he slowed, and eventually came to hover just by the shelf, the book was plated with silver, almost armoured. Jakes heart jumped as he felt something about this book, something, like fate, drew him towards it. He pulled the book from the shelf, in all its reflective glory, and he eagerly opened the cover. Jakes mood mirrored the book as it fell down back to earth, dropped by Jake as soon as he realised he had picked up a cookery book, he was almost angry enough to begin incinerating all the books on the shelf when something caught his attention, a much larger book, almost a metre along its spine, encased in blackened metal, which had fallen diagonally to fill the space left by the fallen cookery book, intrigued, Jake inspected the book to find it was sealed by a strange lock along its side, he turned the huge book so he could see the front cover, embossed into the thick metal were two words;
Circes Tome
He was oddly interested in this strange book, it felt it wieghed more than it should have for its size, and after pulling it off the shelf where it had laid so long he began to lose some hieght due to the unexpected downforce. He clutched it delicately in between his claws and spiralled downwards towards the huge oak reading table.
He laid the book down on the table with a oud hollow thud. Examining the strange and intrecate lock, Jake could see that it was roughly a semi-oval in shape, with seemingly no keyhole of any kind, but a stangely shaped groove down its side. Jake slid one of his claws down the small recess hoping to find some sort of lever to unlock the tome, but nothing happened, when he turned the book on its side however, he could see a faint blue glow coming from the line he had just traced with his claw. Turning to the front once again, he could see a tiny points of blue light where his claws had touched the letters which spelled out “Circes Tome”, he began to trace over the letter C, and as he did so the letter lit up as the side of the book had, he then proceeded to do the same with all of the letters. The moment he removed his claw from the book after tracing over the last E, the mysterious lock sprang open. Eager to find out what the book contained Jake opened the the book to find one of the most amazing works of art hed ever seen.
It showed every creature he could think of, every member of the animal kingdom you could think of, including magical creatures, all depicted with clear artistic skill, the entire picture seemed to glow with a murky light. Dolphins, centaurs, rhinos, alligators, a hydra, a pheonix, a pack of dinosaurs running across a plain, he could even spot a dragon close to tbe centre. Every race you could think of, including humans, were crammed onto this page, the image itself was so complex it was giving Jake a mild headache from looking at it, and it seemed to be moving very slowly.
He doubted whether this book could be used to help Rose, but something kept him reading on, he turned the next page to fins some strange words written in what he suspected was latin, then underneath them, what he supposed was an english translation, it read,
Circe – ancient god of those who wished to be something else.
So this Circe was some kind of ancient god, it didnt make any sense to Jake. He quickly flicked throguh the book out of curiosity, it seemed to have a double page dedicated to each and every creature in existence, the pages seemed dangerously thin, but there were so many of them, it was now clear why the book had wieghed so much. These pages were also written in lattin, but this time, no english translation was provided, so Jake could only stare at the wounderful pictures of each animal. Jake realised that someone may well have spent their whole life putting this book together .
Jake stopped flicking through when he came upon a familiar sight, a dragon soaring among the clouds, once again it had a whole double page dedicated to the illustration, but still in latin. Jake let out a sigh of despair, making his dissapointment verbal, he wished he could read and understand this book. Just when he was about to close the huge tome, he saw movement. This time the picture was definitely moving, the dragon was flying right before his eyes, but still stationary on the page. Then the letters began to move, they twisted and turned around each other, spiraling and swirling, it seemed as if a many leged creature was ice skating on te page, everything slowed down, and then the image and the letters all stopped. Jake stared at the now motionless picture, then his eyes wandered downwards,
Dragon/Draco/Draconis – Flying reptillian creature with magical properties that most humans believe to be pure myth.
The pages had translated themselves into english!
He began to read the pages, and his disbelief grew with each line he read, his eyes widened with shock, “it cant be!” what the book showed was downright impossible, unthinkable even, but there it was written before him. Utterly speechless by his discovery, he shook with exitment, he couldnt wait to tell Rose. Then his face fell, he remembered why he was in this library in the first place, how could this possibly help rose?, he was disgusted at himself for being distracted from his task by an interesting looking book, this was an amazing find, but it wouldnt help set her free.
Jake looked over at Fu, still sleeping, drool falling from his mouth and dripping onto the very page where they found Serims vow. The law which gave them hope for a brief moment. Jake looked over the book again, it could have helped them, but the law only applied to.......
Several ideas fought to get into Jakes head at once, each one more unlikely to work than he last, he looked from the drool covered book to Circes tome, left open a few feet down the table, it may have been crazy, unheard of, he wasnt even sure Fu and grandpa would approve, but nevertheless it was worth an attempt. He grabbed a quill and a pot of ink and began to copy down a list of ingredients from Circes tome, most of which he had never head of, it was easily the most complex spell he had ever seen, but if he could pull it off, it could be Roses ticket to freedom.

Ive got my stupid exams at the moment, and ill be without the internet for awhile, so ill update when I can, but writing new chapters may be slow, that said, heres the next one.....
Chapter 5
Later that night Jake was stood inside the prison in Ians office. Ian was laid on his bunk listening intently while Jake described what he planned to do.
“So, do you think it could work?”, Jake asked him almost desprately. Ian took some time before he replied.
“Ive never seen a spell like this before, I couldnt possibly say”
“But if it works, I need the sworn word of three dragons, I wont hesitate to give mine, and I know my grandpa wont either, I was wondering if you could vouch for her”
“Of couse ill give testimony, I told you id do anything I could to help, and this certainly comes under 'anything', the only remaining question is, will Rose agree to this?” Jake looked ucertain for a brief moment.
“If she dosent want to got through with this, then its her choice”
Minutes later, Jake was sat next to Rose in her room after explaining to her what he intended to do.
“so, I was just wondering.......if it was OK by you, because Ill understand if you refuse, but im not sure ill be able to find another way out of this before......” the sentence didnt need to be finished. Rose looked uncertain fro a brief moment, but then straightened up in her chair,
“ill do it” They both smiled, then hugged for a brief moment, Jake turned and reluctantly began heading out of the room, he stopped in the doorway,
“Ill be back once everything is ready”,
“Well, im not going anywhere” Rose joked, they both smiled, and jake left the room.
Ian met Jake in the hallway,
“Jake, ive been looking over these ingredients, and...” He handed Jake a brown satchel filled with numerous jars containing many strange glowing and oozing substances.
“I found most of them in the old potion store down in the basement, Ive written down places on the island where you can find the rest, some of the plants have to be picked at midnight” Jake thanked him again for his help.
“theres just one thing on here ive never heard of before, this” He pointed his index claw at the words Everlasting Flame
“Its OK Ian, im sure Fu or gramps will know where I can find one, thanks again, ill see you when its ready” Ian nodded and patted him on the shoulder
“good luck Jake” Clutching the worn old satchel containing the valuable ingredients, Jake spread his wings and took off towards the library.
By the time Jake had arrived, Fu was awake and hastily trying to dry the book he had defaced with his drool by any means nesacery, namely using his many wrinkles as a towel. He hastily closed the book as Jake entered the room. Jake decided to get to the question as quick as possiblt so Fu wouldnt think it was a big deal.
“Fu, where can I get an everlasting flame?” The old dog suddenly went from drowsy to wide awake, his eyes narrowed with suspicion
“Why would you need an everlasting flame?”
“Just curious, something I read about last night mentioned it last night and I was wondering what it was” Fu seemed to decide there was no harm in telling him, he grabed one of the books to his left, and flicked through the pages, until and image of a small flame rapidly changing colour was projected in the air above the pages.
“A everlasting flame is a very powerful magical object, Only a dragon can create one, and its the thing which gives a dragon their ability to breathe fire, so youve got one in there” He gave Jake a sharp poke to the stomach.
“Only the most powerful of spells need an everlasting flame, ive never seen one personally, another thing to keep in mind is that an everlasting flame is, pretty much, everlasting, once its made, only the dragon who created it can destroy it”
“Mind if I take a look at that Fu?” The dog looked at him suspiciously again for a brief moment,
“ah what the hell, knock yourself out kid” Fu tossed Jake the book without warning, and Jakes knees buckled under the unexpected wieght, and he fell to the floor. Fu shook his head
“I didnt mean that literally kid”
Jake sat at the very back of the chamber, with Fu's book laid out on the floor in front of him, open on the page which descibed how to create an everlasting flame, a pile of ingredients lay to one side, including the plants he had picked over the past two nights at midnight, just as the book instructed. He had now put all his eggs in one basket, if this didnt work he didnt know what he would do, Rose was due to be executed in a mere two days.
He closed his eyes and began to concentrate, and a fireball appeared floating above his palm, he used all of his mental concentration to crush it, to compress it, the harder he tried the smaller the flame became. He summoned another ball of fire around the tiny flame, beginning to compress that one aswell, on top of the first, while still concentrating on keeping the first one crushed. He continued summoning balls of flame and crushing them into that tiny space above his palm, beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, the falmes were becoming harder to hold with each new one he added, and the book didnt say how many were required. Almost an hour later, Jake was considering giving up, his hand was shaking, his head was pounding, but the flame in his hand now burned so powerfully he was sure that if he realeased his hold on it, he would probably destroy half the library. When he was begining to think he couldnt take any more, there was a small popping sound, and the pressure around the flame subsided, and he felt all of the smaller flames merege together, and then, the flame rapidly began to change colour every few secounds. He had done it!
He carefully placed the precious flame into one of the glass jars and set it down on the table while he caught his breath. While unknown to him, the flame had already burned through the bottom of the jar and through the table, and had already made a small crater in the concrete under the carpet by the time jake saw it. “OH S**T!” He quickly scooped up the flame into his claw, wondering what he should do with it until he could put the rest of the ingredients together. He squinted at some very small print at the bottom of the page,
under no circumstances let the flame touch any solid object, be sure to suspend in middair with a levitation spell.
“Now it tells me this” He looked through the book and cast a quick levitation spell in one of the other jars, then dropped in the flame, which was suspended saftley in the middle of the jar. Jake breathed a sigh of relief.
