After I read a special article, I found this, it looks like Obama is definitely NOT going to be in Bush's footsteps (I'm sure McCain will follow his footsteps, imagine that, no matter how negotiable it'll be). news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090123/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_rdpLooking good, hopefully Obama will be ok in this terrifying times.

Well OF COURSE Obama's not following in Bush's footsteps. Why on earth would he?--they're from different political parties and have different views on most things!

It would be kind of weird if Obama followed Bush, if he did there would be some pretty upset liberals XD.
I have to say, Obama had a very good inaugural speech. I did have to watch it online since I missed it during school (we tried to get the old TV in my lit classroom to work, with no prevail) but it was still excellent.
I also love how when Palin spent $5,000 dollars on her wardrobe democrats made a huge stink, yet a few months later $160,000,000 is spent on Obama's inauguration lol.

Yeah, spending that much on inauguration ceremonies was quite dumb. Way to help the economy, Obama!

Yeah, spending that much on inauguration ceremonies was quite dumb. Way to help the economy, Obama! I doubt it was Obama himself that organised it, Still that was probably a bad move by the Democratic party.

Well, with 25,000-30,000 Secret Serice, FBI, Mercs, and other law enforcement, being the first African-American president, and other festivities, it's going to cost a pretty penny.
But 160 Mill?
But whatever makes their boat float. =\

What I meant about Obama following Bush's footstep is he may become like him, another war president, thinking all about war and less on the economy. Like Bush, he invested a lot of time in war, and that leads to recession in the first place. Luckily Obama is not taking over his legacy, so he might not be taking into the interest of war a lot like Bush did.

Haha. Palin's gone downhill since the election. Now that the recession has hit Alaska, she's just NOW speaking up about it. Plan ahead, you polar bear hunting woman. D:<
To be honest, I highly doubt that Obama's going to become obsessed with the war. I think a good majority of the American people would be like, super-mega pissed. Haha.

hummm... yes I’m late but i also haven’t been on in a long time.
i didn’t really cair, i liked bush for all of his first term and was very much pro him for the second one thinking that he would finish off his work (the war), but as it continued and with little progress I’ve started to not really like him.
For the election i was pro the republicans, it just seems to be the side I’ve sided with so far =l but when the hole Pailen thing got pulled, the first words I said was, "parc, we just lost the election". As it turned out i was correct.
Right after it there were tons of people acting like Obama was all ready in office, it was funny their reactions when i told them that it would be another 2 or so months. =)
i cannot tell you the Black Power trip people are having in my school. its getting really annoying. And the new favorite word is "Change!". Hopefully this will die out soon and we can actually see how well he’s doing. (as long as my parents are still employed, I can say hes at least not worse than bush; they work for the auto companies)

Well, we do know how the past turned out, when Bush & his father declared war on terror, they put most of the country's money on the war machines, leaving the economy into recession. And when recession striked, a lot of people go jobless & many has been retrenched. Having a war president is no fun, youngsters are still fine when Bush reigns, but grown ups & adults cannot afford a problem like this, recession can kill. That's why it's best to think twice before voting a candidate who only interest in war, luckily McCain lost, and I'm happy about this. After all, I'm a working adult and I can't afford a recession to threaten my working life.
If McCain would win, I'm pretty sure his main focus is to continue on pushing forward the US war machine and hunt down Osama at all cost, leaving the economy still in recession and his plan of rescuing it will most likely 15% to consider, and I'm sure you know where the other 85% goes. After all, he is a war veteran, I know how they go.
But in this case, Obama has been 100% focused on his job of rescuing the economy, and I'm happy to see the world is getting better. In terms of warfare, if the troops are still going well and terrorism is still stabilized, why push forward? Push forward is for McCain, take care of the war afterwards is for Obama.

The world is getting better?
Honestly, it all seems the same. Obama may be working on trying to rescue the economy, but that does not mean that he's actually accomplished anything yet. The world is still the same. Even my roommate agrees, and he's even more of a hardcore liberal than yourself.

Well, I always make assumptions. Anyway, I can close this case, the world better, neutral or worse, we'll judge it ourselves. We should admit it after all, Obama is already president, there's nothing we can do about it to unseat him from power.
