This came to me last night when Serial K and I were Role Playing on msn (so, half-credit goes to him!).
So...this is completely AU, and takes place when all of the characters are 16 years old. You all know of my OCs, if not, they’re in the RPG board. IronHand, however, does not belong to me. It belongs to another member of the same name.
Full summary: After another failed Huntsclan mission, the Huntsman gets angry enough to want to find out how the American Dragon and his partners know of their plots. He figures out there’s a mole and sets out to find the mole. Will Rose and Kel’s (IronHand) covers be blown? Or can they find their way out of yet another sticky situation?

Prologue:
New York City was quiet at this time of night. There were barely any cars or people around. The only sounds were the trees in Central Park rustling in the wind, and a jetsled speeding along.
“All right, what do we need to get again?” Asked the boy controlling the jetsled.
Rose sighed. “An enerfy source for our staffs. It should take a few more minutes to get there.”
“And our backup team?”
“Hiding in the bushes near the source.”
“Then why didn’t they get the it?” Kel asked, confused.
“Because Jake might be there.” Rose explained. “Huntsman thinks we’ll have a chance to slay him, and if Leah is there, we can kidnap her and force her to work with us.”
“Oh...” Kel nodded in understanding. “All right. I see a bright green light ahead. Is that the source?”
Rose checked her magic radar. “Yep, that’s it. See Jake or Leah anywhere?”
“Nope.”
“Didn’t you call them?”
“‘Course I did!” Rose checked her phone for any messages. Kel landed the jetsled. Rose readied her huntstaff and started walking towards the source. “There it is. Unguarded.”
Kel looked around. “And no sign of the American Dragon.”
“Hmmm.” Rose walked over to the source. Suddenly, a fireball landed between Rose and the source. Rose yelped and jumped back. She turned to face Jake in his dragon form floating a few feet in front of her. “I wondered when you’d show up.” She aimed her staff at him.
“Awwww, you were expecting me?” Jake asked flirtatiously. “You do love me!”
Rose shot her staff at Jake, who dodged. Jake continued in a serious ytone. “Drop the huntsstaff and surrender now!”
Kel snuck around the tree the source was hiding behind. He reached for it, when the source suddenly flew into Leah’s arms.
“For me? Awww, thanks!” Leah said with a sarcastic smile.
Kel looked behid Leah and smirked back. “Let me ask you something. If you can read minds, wyy are you still standing there?”
“Huh?” Leah turned around to see three glowing huntsstaff aimed at her. She ducked and swung-k9icked one of the members. He fell to the ground. His energy blast blasted into the sky. The other two members shot their staffs at Leah, who rolled out of the way in time. She reached behind her and picked up a fallen huntsstaff.. “Don’t think I don’t know how to use this.”
“When did you learn how to use a huntsstaff?” Kel masked.
“I know a guy.” Leah winked at Kel. She shot the two huntsclan members.
Kel controlled the staff to his hand. “Hmmm...what am I forgetting...”
Leah held up the source. “This?” She threw it to the ground and started stomping on it.
“That’s pretty hard to destroy.” Kel said simply. He controlled the source to his other hand.

Meanwhile, Jake and Rose were still at it. Rose swung her staff at Jake’s feet. Jake jumped to avoid the staff and blew a fireball at Rose, who ducked. Jake grabbed her staff with his tail and threw it zawway.
“Hey!” Rose exclaimed. She ran to get it, but Jake grabbed her arm and slammed her against the tree. “Hey!” Rose pushed Jake off and slammed him against the tree. Jake maneuvered around and balanced himself as he tried to push Rose down. Rose shoved her forearm against Jake’s chin trying to push him off. “IronHand! Help!”
Kel looked between Jake and Rose and Leah. He sighed, dropped the source and controlled a park bench to hit Jake. Leah picked the source up and used her telekinesis to fly herself away.
“The source!” Rose called out.
Jake rubbed his head and got up. He surveyed the scene and flew off. “Laugh out loud! Thanks for playing, noobs!”
“....Crap.” Kel said for the backup team’s benefit.

Kel and Rose were back at the Huntslair in the Huntsman’s office. The huntsman’s back was turned towards them.
“So...another failed mission.” The Huntsman mused.
“Please forgive us, Master.” Rose said sincerely. “We tried our best.”
“Yes...you two are our finest.” The Huntsman turned to face them. “I’m wondering, however, how does the American Dragon know our every move? Every time we try to retrieve magical creatures or items, he and his partners barge in?”
Kel shrugged. “Maybe...the dragons have us under surveillance?”
“Perhaps...” The Huntsman gave a short nod. “We need to find out just how they know what they’re up to.”
“And how do we do that, Master?” Rose asked.
“The American Dragon obviously won’t tell us.” The Huntsman started pacing. “We need to find someone who can.”
Kel and Rose exchanged worried glances. “Like whom?”
“One of his friends, of course.” The huntsman answered simply. “Force the answer out of them.”
“...Oh-ish.” Kel answered.

The next day, the Huntsman called his best analyst into his office. He was ordered to find out possible ways Huntsclan information could be leaked.
The analyst cleared his throat. “We have reason to believe that the dragons may have our moves under surveillance.”
“But...” The Huntsman guided.
“We’ve checked all of our computer databases from across the country including the Huntsclan Training Academy, but none have been hacked into.”
The Huntsman sighed. “What’s the worst case scenario?”
“It pains me to say thins, but we may have been compromised.” The analyst told the Huntman.
The Huntsman’s eyes widened. “You mean to tell me there’s a mole in the Huntsclan?”
“I’m afraid so.” The analyst said somberly.
“Son of a bitch...” The Huntsman muttered. He sighed. “Very well. You are dismissed.”

Rose and Kel were called back into the Huntsman’s office.
“What I am about to tell you two doesn’t leave this room.” Huntsman ordered. “We have reason to believe there’s a mole inside the Huntsclan.”
Kel gasped. “It can’t be!”
“Do you have any idea who it is?” Rose asked.
“No. If I did, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.” The Huntsman said impatiently. “There’s a mole in the Huntsclan, and I need you two to find out who it is!”
“We’ll get right on it, Master.” Rose bowed.
“Uh, yeah! Heh...definately.” Kel bowed, too.

“Well, now what?” Kel asked Rose as they walked down the hall.
Rose sighed and shrugged. “I don’t know...”
