I don't know if anyone has made a thread about this. I don't know if it's allowed because most of the people on the forum don't know squat about this and only know what they know about this from watching the news. But, god damn it, I'm making a thread about it now. What is your opinion on this rather delicate and controversial topic? And please, please! If you post, make it somewhat intelligent, not a typical "GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL DONT YOU KNOW AL GORE?" post. Yes, I'm doing this because it always becomes an argumentative topic. =D -------- My opinion? Global warming is false. However, climate change is a natural process that has been occurring since the dawn of the planet. Watching An Inconvenient Truth is like watching Zeitgeist, the "facts" are extremely debatable, and only an uneducated person would believe the crap that is said. That movie has become dogma, and if you don't believe in it, then you're crazy right? People already start comparing global warming deniers to holocaust deniers. Here are some articles with proof, good reading at least. www.prisonplanet.com/arctic-ice-grows-30-per-cent-in-a-year.htmlwww.geocraft.com/WVFossils/greenhouse_data.htmlAh, done. Hopefully this doesn't get locked in 10 seconds. =]

Global warming is false. However, climate change is a natural process that has been occurring since the dawn of the planet. Dear god, I couldn't agree more. OH BUT WAIT THE WORLD IS GONNA END CAUSE THE POLAR CAPS ARE MELTING! ... if it was global warming, Alaska wouldn't have had it's worst winter on record. Now when Alaska hits 70 year round, then we'll talk. (: I won't deny that Alaska's generally cold, because we are, but really, if it was GLOBAL, Alaska would be getting it too.

It may be real but all the news and governments make it seem much scarier than it is. Ignorance is bliss.

That is because the table was right there. That page is full of left wing hippies editing it.
Global warming is almost entirely made up of opinion. A table ranking living conditions is not.

Global warming is actually real, even if hyped up.
Firstly Climate change is a natural progression, which coincides over many years, as you said, however the greenhouse effect is a very real issue.
I haven't yet watched an inconvenient truth, so I cannot back up any claims it makes.
But 'Well done' on the link to prison planet btw Alex Jones does his best to ensure that very little factual info actually gets onto his sites, and that only things which support his fantasy universe that hes got his followers entrapped into, are placed on there. What is true, however is that The climate isn't changing at a massively fast rate maybe, (0.1) of a degree every 10 years if that, but the earth doesn't need a massive change in climate for problems to occur. So yes, Alaska might get cold winters, The ice cap will grow and shrink, but this will happen less and less as time goes by.
The second link is pro Global Warming, however downplays human involvement in Global Warming, However, I had a quick read through and what it fails to tell you is that the natural greenhouse gasses are mostly the reason that the surface temperature of the Earth is different from the surface temperature of the moon, So when we look at this slow temp change, A large part of it does appear to be from man made causes, since the non man made gasses account for a temp change from a global average of approx -15 to 15 degrees and the man made accounts for the slow further warming.
How much of a temperature change is required for there to be problems, I cannot say for sure, but it isn't all that much.. After all El Nino and La Nina are only caused by small fluctuations in ocean temperature.
Is the media Over Sensationalising Global warming? I do agree and this is one of the reasons that there are so many global warming deniers, they aren't getting the info like it is. The negative effects probably won't even happen in the next 100 years, It appears to be happening, human contributed but not necessarily as the media says it is.

^ Haha. A lot of people take it to be the most influential movie ever. Yet there isn't one solid fact on it.
