Yes. Internet censorship may not work efficiently, but the purpose of internet censorship is for the greater good. Some things, which are bad for the society, like pornography, should be censored. And that DEFINITELY needs to be censored even more than it is now. But other than that, for a government (like China) to ban sites such as Youtube and Facebook... that is a clear violation of freedom in all aspects.

i would like to point out that British researchers have discovered that looking at porno for 10 minutes a day increases your life expectancy by as much as a year. (i wonder if they had any women in that group of researchers)
moving on, i believe in an open internet and despise censorship however i do see it to be fit for those of a younger age. they shouldn't be exposed to the full internet at such a young age.
just a note on China, its not a free country, so the governments working perfectly with in there jurisdiction. (nor is most of the world a free country)

( it's not just at p0rn but just at t1ts. I've seen this research too )
I agree with Clone too. I despise censorship but for underaged kids there should be one.

It's also mostly down to parents taking care of them, but sadly, this is the modern world, even with adult supervision, kids can just go to internet cafes or behind their room to look at those inappropriate stuff. This is not like back in the old days anymore.

( it's not just at p0rn but just at t1ts. I've seen this research too ) lawls. the random stuff Google News will feed people. as said before sadly internet censorship to the younger generations currently not possible. however with the way the Internets running it will probably become a real thing in about 10 maybe 15 years. =( current study's show that people are more than fine with giving up there freedom of the internet for ease of use by the form of using "apps" to aces the internet. this pisses me off but ya never know this could turn out good for the more savvy users. less ass-holes in our internet.

What can we say, we can't help on how to prevent the past problems. I wish I could say one of the examples but unfortunately that is 18+ content and I cannot talk about it, but you get the idea.
