Just the fact that I can't call people swines is what bothers me. Haha.
Yeah, it's been in California for a while and we have the 2nd highest amount in the country? Don't care, to be honest.

I just saw the news and the 'biggest story' is that one person died from h1n1 in Canada. It's just one person when so many more people die in our own country from things way worse.

Now that's bad, I wonder is it becoming more deadly than the bird flu.

OHSNAP THE SWINE FLU MIGHT BE COMING TO ALASKA. -rolls eyes-
Eh, it probably will be. Bird flu dealt with birds. How many humans got the bird flu? ... I don't think it was enough that people made such a big deal about it. But these are people, so people are freaking ou- OH IT'S IN HAWAII.
.... Idk, I can see why they're making such a big deal about it, considering they're positive that the swine flu is the mutated 1918 Spanish Flu. But still, I'm annoyed that they won't stfu. WE GET IT. D=

The swine flu is nothing but a really really weak version of the flu.

Yes, because a respiratory disease is weak.

D= Soooo, the Spanish Flu somehow mutated and survived for ~90 years, in Mexico, near the equator, when viruses don't last long in warmer climates. I love how scientists/biologists research stuff these days <3 ANYWAYS. DID U GAIS HEER THAT SOM OLD LADY DIED A FWE DAY BCK?! OMGOMGOMGOMG.

This pisses me off quite bad. H1N1 (TSF) has killed less ppl than the actual flu have done during the time H1N1 has been around! Srsly ppl, give it a rest.

I think everyone should just stop making a big deal about swine flu, stop wearing those hideous masks, and get on with their lives with bacon on their plate tonight. =D
No seriously. D: It's stupid.

What people should be worried about is what happens next winter. If it acts like the 1918 flu and mutates into something deadly, this could get very bad. But also, we're almost 100 years after that, so our technology is a lot better.
Still, there are worse things going on. More people die from drunk driving in the United States this year then people have in the whole world from swine flu. 2,620 to 160. Hmmm.

Yes, but can drunk driving be 'cured'? Yes. You're forgetting the key fact into this - this is the flu. The flu doesn't even have a set cure. The vaccine that is required every year does not always work. I would know. I got the flu within two months of my shot, and I had it as bad as the people who didn't get the shot.
So, long story shot, there isn't a cure for the swine flu. They say that they'll have a vaccine out, but let's face it - that won't always protect us. Hell, we don't even have a cure for the common cold yet! Like hell we're gonna get one for the swine flu. A vaccine is not a cure, it's a possible prevention.
Just because our technology is a lot better doesn't mean anything. It really doesn't. Now, we may be prepared (and I use this term very loosely) ... but what is our technology gonna do more than it already is right now instead of the winter? They'll spends hours figuring out a 'vaccine' ... which is a waste, but the virus will just mutate every single year.
Now, don't get me wrong, I think that the people are over reacting. I don't think the Government and CDC are. They're taking the simple, correct, precautions, in order to spread it. If someone has the swine flu, they're quarantined.
You do the same d*mn thing with meningitis, T.B...
Now think about when those two diseases came out - I'm d*mn positive there was the same reaction. Everyday people were freaking out, just like they are today. People could and probably would say that today, more people are freaking out than ever before. I can agree with that, but you also need to counter in the fact that we're in a mass media world. Our world is dominated by the T.V and the internet.
Like I said earlier, I think that most of the everyday people are overacting. The CDC, the center for disease control even said not to get so worried about it like people are. Yet, I can see why they are - it's a 'new' (in the medical sense, at least) disease that could be a repeat of something that was pretty devastating across the world. It's logical; it's fear. We're afraid, and we have a reason to react ... we're just ... being melodramatic.
... Just saying. =P
