google has made a direct link on its home page (as of 11/13/2009) to a search about it. it has been confirmed by three different spacecraft putting the notion to rest with what has been called "unambiguous evidence" of water across the surface of the moon. more can be found on this in the following links Google search Link Space.com Link NASA.gov Link man i'm wondering what there going to do now knowing this information and what else we've over looked about the moon.

Yeah but the amount of water is VERY tiny ( about 15 grams per kilometer) which isn't enough for any moon base. But yes there is some water on the moon ^^

Water from passing comets gives off trace amounts of elements, that could be water, or molecules that can become water, and lays in teh craters that never see moonlight.
Basically, lunar permafrost.

Exactly. ANd it's only next to the northern side of the moon and in some craters but that's pretty much it.
