we got that from your original posts. (no need to be redundant) by no means am i saying this is to replace anything other than game counsels. i posted about the web browser because its something some people care about. (not all of use can stand the monthly fee for a smart phone)

Ok, well, sorry for being forgetful. Since now you already get the idea, I hope I don't need to repeat myself, and hopefully Italian knows too.
As for the monthly fee of a smartphone, they can be expensive and they don't care whether they use it or not, but with the right calculation, it can become like a mini hire purchase and then who knows you end up paying lower than the original price for the smartphone alone. Well, I just dealt with that at one of the phone stalls, not the official carrier shop. But of course, I am calculative and make sure I don't spend all the way to hell.
Think the original smartphone is $2500, a contract base starts at $1400 and then you pay for monthly fees. The one I found is around for the original Galaxy S, but through a contract at the phone stall I went, they sells it for $1400 and the monthly fees of 2 years, in the end the total becomes like $2300 or less. If it's through a carrier, I scared a $2500 smartphone and in the end after clearing the entire contract, you end up paying way more than the original price for the phone alone like $2700. So I can see why people want to avoid contracts in the first place, some are good pros and there's also bad cons.

ya I'm a contract hater. been burned with every single one Ive signed in the phone industry. also data is a required 30$ per month extra in America, so after 2 years minimum contract (90$ a month) and tack on the 30$ required Data plan, I'm looking at 2880$ just to have the thing. (its an additional 200$ to get the phone) my current phone is 40$ a month to have running and i got it for 5$. wish i could keep the thing... but that's why i choose the 3DS over a smart phone.

Your case is, let's give an accurate number on the smartphone. Here's how mine is calculated :
Original price of smartphone : $2500 Through fair contract : $2300 or less (in total when contract ended, and if done through a regular phone shop) Fear of contract : $2600 or above (It might end as an unfair practice if done through the carrier shop)
So in your case, you scared that through contract means you get to pay way more than the original price? Well, I see your point, me, I go for the smartphone as it can also make phone calls which consoles cannot do. After all, I do more calls than using emails and messengers.

from the looks of it you arn't ripped off much when you go buying a smart phone as i am. speaking of usage, im mostly texts, emails and IM so my current phone works perfectly in tandem with the 3DS for me.

Well, like I said, I go through a regular phone shop to do, they offer contracts too under a carrier but they did it their way, but I'm not sure if it's followed according to the official carrier's way, or was it their way. So I have no idea until I'm ready to buy one and make comparisons.
That's why I usually don't go to official carrier stores to buy, if I do, I scared I'll pay way over the original price by the time the contract ends. Just like I mentioned the $2600 or more cost problem. And that kind of practice is just like a car loan or hire purchase, you pay way more than the original amount you loan due to bank interest.
But for your case, you scared they'll rip you off?

not so much scared but know that they will. because of that i've decided to stay away form smart phones till they stop over charging for them. (in America the phones worthless unless you have a contract, so regardless of where you buy it your still going to pay up the but to use it)

From what I know is that the US is stuck to carrier, but not like in my country where I get the best of both worlds. So far, I'm sure one day there's a phone shop or even the black market that will sell just the phone alone. Oh well, Ebay or Amazon is another although warranties and other benefits are not going to be provided.

there is a way to buy the phone but its stupid expensive, but being able to use it on a networks just as expensive as if you bought it threw the carer... strangely no benefit of paying full price for the phone.

Hold it! The full price I'm talking about is the phone alone, remember, the Galaxy S still remains expensive if you buy without contract. And I'm sure the iPhone 4 will still be expensive too, however, typical Apple still charge it too high over a flawed phone. Too high when there's no Adobe Flash and all this all that.
You maybe right when it comes to buy through contract and you don't use the internet, but as for me, I'll buy it so I can get to pay less in the end, like a discount. A $2250 or less discounted at end total paid through contract (2 years maximum if I'm not mistaken) is BETTER than paying a $2500 full price in only one shot. But of course, must study first before thinking about pay through contract.

well i see that you missed what i was saying, probably my fault.
if i buy the phone with out a contract lets say it cost 800$. if i buy it with a 2 year contract the phone costs lets say 100$. however the contract cost the same amount weather i payed full price for the phone or if i used the contract to get it at 100$. in the end theres no benefit for me to buy the phone with out a contract and then buy service form a career... this is because service with a contract cost the same amount as service without a contract.

I see, you thought you could get the phone at a lesser cost but you fear that you still get it at the same exact price. Alright, understood.

Hmm, understood. Oh well, when I'm ready to buy one, I'll be ready to check on the comparison. As usual, I'll always bring my calculator along.
