im actually rather surprised we don't have a topic on this game yet. well now we do! The Old Republic is a MMO like no other. its currently in development and testing by Bioware (renowned for there RPG's) set in the old republic erra in Star Wars (a location they first created with Knights of the Old Republic, and are free to mess with). the game currently features 8 dynamic classes (each with a 100% solo playable story line and full customization), space combat, numerous planets, and voice overs for every line of text! the best part of all for me though is there push for grabbing the middle ground of "world" and "game" styled MMO's. ( LINK) Ive all ways been a major proponent of World styled MMO's but felt like they needed more push for a new player to get his start but hated the linear game play of Game mmo's, but now it looks like i might have my happy medium. so discus talk and ask away, for this MMO's revolutionizing the MMO world 2nd quarter of 2011!

Sorry, not me either. I'm currently thinking of Lego Star Wars 3 : The Clone Wars.

Well, sequels are not always the best. Not all of them. Just like how I remember Hellboy 1 & 2, 2 was just no good and the purpose of it is lost compare to the 1st.

Well, you know what they say, due to the painful economic times, game companies are sacrificing quality in order to gain money really soon, either for survival or either just for the quick cash.

Woo, you know what they say, when creative directors are getting old, quality of their minds tend to fall. Just like our beloved cartoons, in the past, take Tom & Jerry for example, once a very strong and popular cartoon back there, but today, the creativity is falling and popularity is falling as well.

Bowares been on a consent crescendo in production over the past 10 years and now leads the pack in perfection in games. but this is there first endeavor to the MMO field and they have NEVER made a multyplayer game before so that could be a really big concern.
man i don't like waiting the extra month it will probably be for the public beta. been waiting for 3 years now...

Well, if it's the 1st time doing it, this is all but experimentation. But sadly, when still waiting for 3 years. Then I guess I know something was not really right on the inside, unless they said the game is finally been nailed into the coffin without telling us for so long.

the game began production in 2005, and the project was leaked in some time in 2008. in 2009 it went public. this kind of development periods nothing to be even fretting about. the average from the ground up game plus engine takes 4 years to finish. now lets make the largest game ever so 6 years perfectly in reason. (Also WOW was Blizereds first endeavor in to the MMO market. just look at there success)
also i don't get what your trying to say in your last sentence. are you trying to be negative or positive or something that's not available in English? i get lot the more i try to figure out that sentence.

With WoW's success, there is huge doubts about it.
As for my last sentence, well, let's just say EA, one of the worst companies I ever known, although not all departments, the one who manages the "Command & Conquer" franchise is only nothing but gaining quick cash while sacrificing so much quality. The game was so great from the earlier times until they take advantage of its fame and use it to earn money quickly thus called "C&C4 : Tiberian Twilight", and guess what happened? Instead of end with a bang, it dies with a whimper. And here comes another bad news, instead of nailing the franchise, they decide to take the "baddest mistake" of rebooting the entire franchise instead of starting a brand new idea (with a new name of course) which may be similar to C&C. It's all in the name, money!
But for your case, it may not be the money, I think it's got to be some poor marketing, quality control and also poor leadership of how to get the job done or to be ready for competition.

well, Biowares just publishing threw EA so i don't really know how much say they have. kind of like how DICE, while apart of EA really gets to do what ever they want.
only time can tell form her on out.

EA sometimes they can hide things just to earn some money for themselves. You should know they have bad reputations too like how they handle my favorite RTS franchise earlier. Overall, I wish Wikileaks can spill some secrets to us about them.
