Ok, so these parents where on vaction and left two six year olds and a 5 or 6 year old in a hotel room. They went to dinner (and like 3 other places) and left the Kids in the hotel room. They came back to check on everyone every 30 minutes, but what i don't get is why they did that. Anyone near there , could have watched and figured out that the kids where alone, then when they adults left just picked the lock and grabbed them. When they came back the littlest girl was missing. And people are saying its not the adults fault?
What do you guys think?

They are to take partial blame, yes.First, who the heck leaves six-year-olds on their own?!They should've put them in a Day Care center.Next, why did they leave three six years olds by themselves?Poor child.I hate to insult but the parents are very naive about child rearing apparently and I should know.I had been babysitting little anklebitters in my early teens. xD

Wasn't it two three year olds and one six year old?
Anyways, I doubt that the kid was actually taken from the hotel room. How would anyone know they were there all alone. Most likely, she walked out of the room and was taken by someone outside. Whe they returned to the room the door was locked, so it's unlikely that someone broke in. Also, the parents were only about 50 metres away at the restaurant, making it even more unlikely that someone broke in. It was irresponsible of the parents to leave them there by themselves. If they had taken them to a day care centre this wouldn't have happened.

That right there kids is called "stupidity".
You don't leave kids alone for any period of time! Especially when they're at a defenseless age like 6 years old.
I honestly wonder if anyone has common sense these days...

Yep i agree with everyone in this thread, lets all focus on blaming the horrid irresponsible parents, and move focus away from the innocent kidnapper who was only apprehending the opportunity he saw left open by the irresponsible parents

I see your point atecom, but everyone knows that the kidnapper is at fault. The point is, there would not have been an opportunity if the parents were more responsible. It may not seem right to put the blame on the parents, but do you think the kidnapper would have even dared to take that child if the kids were better looked after?

Id understand if they went of to whoop whoop somewhere, but they didnt, it sounds to me like they barely left the premisis.
Lets assume that the hotel had 2 major rooms (As some hotels do) one with a double bed for the parents, one for the children. Whats the difference between the parents in a restaurant 50 meters away, checking up on them every half an hour and the parents being asleep in the next room, only able to check up on the children once every 6 hours. Theres nothing to stop the kids from wondering then. I remember when I was 8, I snuck out of a hotel room at 2:00 AM, in the same room my parents slept in, I could have been taken at any time, are they therefore irresponsible for sleeping?
I dont know exactly what happened here, but it sounds like the parents barely left the hotel premisis (it is clear they were never more then 15 Minutes away) and especially as a hotel is supposed to be quite a secure place, I do not blame them for thinking that they could go off for a bit.

Although they thought they are confident enough that leaving their child in the room is common, but it does have a price when there's a break-in.
