Juicy AmDrag info, ahoy! Matt details the "anatomy" of the episode "Breakout".
He even gives some cut-out transcripts from the episode!

I liked their explaintion behind aging the characters in the second season; and he's right, I was watching "Act 4 Scene 15" with my six-year-old cousin and she asked me if Rose was older then Jake. Loved how they took the ending of "The Academy" into consideration while writing "Breakout". And I loved the cut out bits. Funny stuff.

Yeah, Rose did look older than Jake. Shame they had to cut out those scenes in "Breakout".

New entry up about the oppressive standards by Disney Channel's Standards & Practices department. It's actually really hard-hitting, and some of the notes Eddie lists are just completely ridiculous.
The beginning of the entry also has him talking about his past times working on Kim Possible, and lists a line from an early draft of the episode, "The Truth Hurts", which I thought was hilarious.

I need to read this transcript but I agree...Jake and Rose both looked age.Although at first I thought I wasn't going to like the new Rose,well...I can definitely say that she's gotten the most out of the makeover. Most of the new animation isn't bothersome anymore,it's actually better. LP

I agree. No wonder why all those fight scenes looked boring until the second season arrived. I laughed at the part when they told Eddie and Matt that Jake had to wear a helmet while he was a dragon. Talk about stupid.

Jake wearing protective gear in dragon form? Couldn't breathe fire? The Huntsclan not having weapons? Good Lord, they would have ruined the show if Matt and Eddie didn't take a stand. O__O

O__O It sure would have... Although that littke Kim Possible tidbit I found juicy, but would have still probably been touchy. And the fart joke one... Well, to be honest, I think they've timed them right in the first season (During Old School Training and Professor Rotwood's Thesis), and I thought they were funny enough. Although I wonder if they're gonna slip in another sneak fireball from the rear anytime during the second season...? Who knows...

Sorry for a slightly off-topic entry, but I found something interesting after searching on BlogSpot.com: ewight.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_ewight_archive.htmlIt's Eric Wright's blog. Eric Wright is the artist Steve Loter hired to help him re-design the show for Season 2. The link is to an archive of his posts from June, where he did four entries about Dragon. They contain preliminary designs for Jake and Lao Shi (as well as their dragon forms), as well as Fu Dog, Spud and Trixie. You can also check out a bunch of his other art on the blog, too. He actually has some really good work. Add: Some of the concept art: Early Jake in different outfits (the third one was recently used in "Breakout" I think) Early Dragon-Jake and Dragon-Gramps Early Fu Dog and Gramps Early Spud and multiple hair-style Trixie

Hmmm... Now this particular concept piece I like. Even if it's not a final product, Jake does still have that chest thing going for him like his S1 version did. Meanwhile, I'm glad that the other characters retained their final products for S2. Particularly Fu Dog... his concept doesn't look very pleasant. And Spud? Glad they did without the chain-from-the-pocket and the creepily-long front hair.

The original Dragon-Jake looked good, but it seems a bit oddly-shaped to me. I do like Lao Shi's original dragon form, though. That's probably because it looks closer to his Season 1 form (minus the green eye-highlights). I also liked this little variation of Gramps from his final product: Maybe it's that hair-knot, but I thought it looked pretty cool.

Im surprised they actually allowed a dragon on the show, It sounds like they feel Jake dhould have been a perfect homeschool young boy, with as much chance of survival in the real world as the sheltered young children that S&P wanted to appeal to.

Hmmm.... I have to admit, the third hair style wasn't that bad. Glad they chose to stay with her original hair style though, but I think I saw some of the third hair style when she was a cheerleader in "Bring It On".
