Chapter 74: Settling Defeat
Dave sighed sadly and just stared straight ahead from his shackles which were attached to the walls. He couldn’t transform and his arms were at an almost vertical angle because of the shackles above him and he couldn’t move his feet because of the shackles holding his feet in place. He heard approaching footsteps and raised his eyes hopefully but he saw it was just the Dark Dragon.
“How are you doing Dave?” the Dark Dragon asked, an evil smile on his face.
“None of your business,” Dave told the Dark Dragon and then he felt the Dark Dragon release the shackles.
“What are you doing?” Dave asked in surprise.
“You are free,” the Dark Dragon said.
“What is the catch?” Dave asked.
“Oh, you’ll play your part soon enough,” the Dark Dragon said and Dave left the cave.
Dave ran out to the council building which took only a few minutes when he saw a group of Shades start to approach.
“This is not good,” Dave said and looked over at the cave and then he realized why he was set free.
He was leading the Shades to Jake and the others. Dave growled and ran in the opposite direction and sure enough, the Shades were right behind him.
“This is going to be a bit tough,” Dave said.

Chapter 75: An Attack
"Any word?"
Lao Shi was in the council building with Councilors Andam and Kulde. Kulde was just about to respond, when a huge fireball blew into the room. The dragons yelled out and jumped to avoid the fire. They looked up to see the Dark Dragon glaring at them.
"YOU!!" **
Meanwhile, Dave was backing away from the shades trying to figure a way out of this. He saw Jake in the distance. Dave was about to call out to him, when two shades roughly grabbed each of his arms. Dave yelled out in anger. Luckily Jake heard it, and flew at full speed to Dave. Dave kicked at the shades, but to no avail. Two fireballs hit each of the shades and they immediately let go.
"Jake!" Dave exclaimed.
Jake dragoned down and hugged Dave. "You ok?"
"Yeah."
Jake was about to respond when two shades knocked them both out. **
The 4 dragons were having it out. Finally, the DD gave up.
"You are weak." He said evily. "All of you."
"Where are Jake and Dave?!" Lao Shi demanded. The DD smiled once again and flew off. ***

Chapter 76: Escaping the Dark Grasp
"Dave. Dave. Dave!"
Dave stirred when he heard someone calling out his name. He opened his eyes to see Jake chained up next to him.
"Ugh. What happened?" Dave asked.
"We were knocked unconscious. I take it that we were taken here and chained up by the Dark Dragon," Jake told him.
"Man, we need to stop getting into these situations and get somewhere safe," Dave said.
Dave then proceeded to glance around the room, trying to find something to help them and their current situation. After finding nothing he gave a small sigh and just stood there in his chains.
"Why are you giving up now?" Jake asked him.
"I'm not giving up. I just can't do anything at this moment," Dave told him.
"How about if I let you go, then what would you do?" the Dark Dragon asked, stepping out of the shadows.
"I'd beat down your sorry butt first. Then I'm getting Jake and I out of here," Dave said.
"Well then, bring on the fight," the Dark Dragon said, walking over to Dave and unchaining him.
"You'll regret every moment you did that," Dave said.
Dave then jumped at the Dark Dragon in anger. The Dark Dragon gave a grin and jumped back, completely avoiding the attack.
"Come on Dave, you have to show more promise than that," the Dark Dragon said.
"I'll show your promise all right!" Dave yelled before he tried to kick the Dark Dragon, only to have his foot grabbed and then proceeded to be flipped.
"As for your brother," the Dark Dragon started, walking over to Jake.
Dave quickly kicked the Dark Dragon in the back.
"That was for you!" Dave yelled.
Then the Dark Dragon turned around and smiled.
"This is what a kick is really like!" he yelled and kicked Dave, sending him flying across the room.
"DAVE!" Jake yelled.
"I'm not finished yet!" Dave yelled and tried to punch the Dark Dragon only to have his punch grabbed.
"Why don't you just give up?" the Dark Dragon asked.
"Because, giving up isn't my style," Dave said.
Dave then quickly dived under the Dark Dragon and quickly released Jake's leg chains. He started to work on his arm chains when the Dark Dragon grabbed him from behind.
"You are not going anywhere!" the Dark Dragon yelled.
He then threw Dave again. Jake struggled in his arm chains.
"Stop hurting him you punk!" Jake yelled.
The Dark Dragon gave an evil grin at Jake.
"Ah, gaining some courage are we?" the Dark Dragon asked.
"YES I AM!" Dave yelled and punched the Dark Dragon in the back and quickly ran in front of the Dark Dragon to deliver a swift kick to his stomach.
The Dark Dragon bent over in slight pain and Dave quickly finished taking off the arm chains. Jake took flight and then remembered that Dave didn't have his dragon powers.
"Jake, go on without me!" Dave yelled.
"No, I am not leaving without you," Jake said.
"Yes, you are. This'll be the final showdown between the Dark Dragon and me," Dave said.
Jake gave a small growl and said, "Don't you die!"
Jake flew out of the cave and Dave gave a confident smile.
"Let's finish this."

This is one of the best FF stories I have ever read, but I have a few questions. 1. Has Rose had the baby yet? 2. How far along is she and 3. What chapter will she have the baby in? Thanks!

I am slowly starting to get inspiration to pick up my pen and finish this story ^_^. To answer your questions in a nutshell, Rose will not have the child until the third story in the series.

Ok, good deal. Boy, I know one thing. The guys better not let Rose fight any evil, even though she wants to, in HER condition. Labor, now that's going to be a roughie. Jake's going to be FUNNY in that chapter. He will soon find out that there's nothing scarier than a pregnant woman in labor. HAH! Hmhhmmh, update soon Travis...

Chapter 77: Rose's Battle
Rose was walking around looking for Jake. He's been gone for what it seemed like hours. Her footsteps were soft and unheard on the ground as she searched the island. With no sign of Jake anywhere, it worried her greatly. She didn't know if he was alive or not and with the current condition of everything, she knew everything was fair game. She stopped at the edge of the shore and held her stomache gently. Sighing, Rose looked out into the horizon. She knew her baby was due soon and she didn't want to endanger it but she also didn't want to lose the love of her life. She looked about as if hoping that the answer of Jake's whereabouts would suddenly be answered, but no sign appeared. She sighed sadly.
All of a sudden, the pregnant dragon heard a noise behind her. Gasping, she looked around. A few shades were approaching! The choice presented before her was hard for her to make. She knew that if she didn't fight, she and the baby could die but if she did fight, she would have a chance to survive as would the baby. It was risky but she knew she would have to fight for her child and her own life. Her Huntsclan training taught her to always attack on impulse. She waited until the shades were closer. She was ready to attack as soon as the Shades got close enough to her. As soon as they were in attacking range, she went for a kick but found that it was slower and not as powerful because of the child.
"I have no chance of defeating them in my human form," she said softly.
Rose closed her eyes and took a deep berath.
‘God give me courage and strength,’ she thought. "Dragon up!" She said aloud.
She flew up and blew fire at the shades. The Shades were instantly defeated but then twice the amount took the place of the previous Shades! Rose looked at them all and considered her options quickly and then shot fire again, defeating a few of the multiple Shades. Two of the shades attacked from behind. Prepared, Rose slashed her tail through the shades. Seeing more Shades approach, she no longer wanted to fight because of the danger that kept growing for her unborn child. She decided to retreat to the Dragon Council building and get backup.
As soon as she got there, Rose detransformed and stopped to catch her breath.
"Help!" She called out. "I need some help over here!"
No one responded back. She walked in further and looked around to see no one was there.
"Where is everyone?" she asked out loud, her voice full of worry. She walked out of the Council building and down the stairs.
"Hello?" Rose called out, nervously.
She looked around. She heard voices in the distance and walked further on to investigate.
Rose saw Laoshi talking with someone.
'Who is he talking to?' Rose asked softly. She snuck over and hid to the best of her ability and heard the voice talk back to Laoshi.
"You should know that I would never turn my back on my master." Rose gave a gasp.
"Chang!" she growled out.
"I realize that." She heard Lao Shi say. "You also realize evil finishes last?"
"Exactly," Chang said. "The good side may beat us but in the end, evil will win."
"It will not!" Rose stepped out of the shadows and glared at Chang. Lao Shi was surprised to see her.
Chang gave a smile as Laoshi stared in shock.
"What are you doing here Rose?" he asked her.
"Why does it matter?" Chang asked. "She will end up just like any of the other dragons that dare oppose us."
Ignoring Chang, Rose turned to Laoshi. "Some shades attacked me. I need backup."
Chang continued to smile and said, "My dear Laoshi, why don't you tell her who sent the Shades out to attack the Isle."
"You don't need to tell me." Rose replied. "The Dark Dragon sent them."
Chang gave a laugh. "Poor child, that is entirely wrong," she said.
Rose stared at Chang wide-eyed. "Dave or Jake couldn't have sent them." She thought. "Could they?"
"Laoshi, why don't you tell her who sent them," Chang said.
Laoshi looked at the ground sadly. Rose looked at Lao Shi confused.
"Lao Shi?" She said softly. "You didn't send them...did you?"
"The Dark Dragon ordered the attack, nothing more," Laoshi said.
"Laoshi is the one who sent them out," Chang said.
Rose was at a loss for words. She took a few deep breaths. "Lao Shi...why? Why do you put your family in danger all because of the one you love?"
"Because I don't want to lose her, and she said I would be the next to go if I didn't do what the Dark Dragon ordered," Laoshi said.
"So why not fight then?" Rose continued. "You always seemed the type to never give up during a fight. Who are you?"
"I'm the same person, just with different goals now," Laoshi said to her.
"I can't believe what I'm hearing." Rose sighed.
"You better believe it," Chang said.
**************** Trees whizzed by the windows of the red car. A girl of about sixteen was sitting in the passenger side, looking out at all of the scenery.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked.
"To the Isle of Draco," her father said.
“The Isle of Draco?” the girl thought confused. “Why?” she asked aloud.
"Because that is where you will stay for a little while until your mother and I settle things," her father told her.
"Okay." The girl said. She looked out the window and wondered how she got into this mess.
"Sometimes I wish mother wasn't a teacher or teaching that little girl how to be a dragon," the girl said softly. Her father unfortunatly, heard her.
"Hey," Her father scolded. "There are some things in life that you don't like. So deal with it.”
"But why does mom have to teach that little brat?! From what I've heard, the girl's grandfather teaches her brother so why not teach her as well?" the girl said angrily, trying not to yell.
“Because he cannot teach both at once,” her father answered.
The girl just gave a growl and stared out the window, unaware of what was watching her.
*****************
"Come Laoshi, it is time that we continue with our plans," Chang said.
"Not if I stop you!" Rose shouted. She dragoned up and lunged at Chang.
Chang grabbed Rose in her dragon form quickly and then threw her to the ground. Rose gasped and clutched her stomach. She caught her breath, stood up, and blew fire at Chang.Chang moved out of the way and flew off, Laoshi following behind her.
"I got to stop them somehow, or else they will kill almost every dragon on the Earth," Rose said.
