You know, after watching lots and lots of adjl i was 'analysing' Jake's personality , you know, he's a bit immature for his age, don't you think ?

Which season? Season 1, agreed. Season 2, not so much.

Yeah, same as above. He definitely grew up a lot in season two.

I think that it was even a bit of a turn-off for me in the first season, in a small way. I mean, not to say that I disliked the first season by ANY means, but the fact that Jake could be rather immature and especially his overuse of the gangsta slang, could get a bit annoying. All of this was obviously toned down in the second season.
Hell, I think season two as a WHOLE just seemed more mature and "grown-up." I'm sure most would agree with me.

i definitely agree, season 2 was way different and much more mature. the gangsta stuff of Jake from season 1 was a bit of a turn off to me, and has been the driving force on why i still cant get any of my RL friends to watch season two.
its a different dragon in season 2. (just about everything was different)

After all avoiding three times to get killed by the Dark Dragon probably made him a lot more mature in his mind. And well, he couldn't have stayed a kid all along
