I had an assignment in English just now, and the assignment was to review a movie. So I chose Zombieland! I had the .doc file avaivable for transmission to my regular computer so I can share my review with you! So here it goes:
Warning! Some spoilers may appear in this review!
Zombieland
Zombieland is a movie about a guy named Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg). He's one of the few survivors left since the zombie-virus kicked in. He is a very phobic guy who has a specific fear (even more than for zombies) of clowns. But as a phobic guy he's made himself a list of rules, and that list is what has made him survive this long. Here are some of my favorite rules:
Rule #1: Cardio: To survive Zombieland, you're going to have to have a good cardio. Cause if you run out of steam, you're toast. That's why all the fatties had their way to go.
Rule #2: Double Tap: If you do have a gun and have shot a Zombie, please make sure that it's dead by taking a clean shot at the head. Otherwise you have a good shot at getting killed anyways.
Rule #4: Seatbelts: Sometimes you forget the simplest things, and that's also a good way to get killed in Zombieland. If your escape plan is a four-wheel, remember to fasten your seatbelt!
The main character I'm going to choose is Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), because he is the badass of this film. Tallahassee is a guy Columbus meets somewhere in the beginning of this movie. They team up (because of Rule #6: Travel In A Group) and become good friends. As I said previously Tallahassee is the badass of this movie, but he has a clear weakness: Twinkies. From what I picked up from the film I can recall him saying that it reminded him of the good times he had at home.
It's lonely (of course) and it's often dark to make the movie scarier. They are usually at the Texas part of what used to be USA.
I say both yes AND no to the question if this movie has a message or not. Partially, it's just another movie about Zombies and gore and such things. But on the other hand it teaches to keep your friends and family close. Even though there isn't a zombie apocalypse going on right now, we have still got to make sure we protect the ones we love.
And now to my personal thoughts about the movie. I liked this movie more than I thought I would. It's a bit humorous at some parts and at the other parts it does look very filmic. I liked this movie and I'm going to give it **** out of *****.
