Ok, let me start off that i was a fan of this show when it was on.
My two favorite disney shows were Phil of the Future and Kim Possible respectively. But Am Drag was my firm #3.
I was disappointed that there wasnt a 3rd season. Dissapointed that the "Hong Kong Longs" ending was sort of ambiguous. I thought i read somewhere a lot of footage was cut from "Hong Kong Longs" so my guess is it would have been clearer if they didnt cut so much.
Anyway, i'm just curious if it was stated clear cut anywhere by any of the creators or directors that jake and rose end up together. I know it's implied. But still my feeling has always been "Hong Kong Longs" left it way too ambiguous.
Rose kissed Jake so obviously she still has a thing for him. The way she said that the picture brought back some memories. But then it pans out with them holding hands.

Naw it has never been explicitely stated by the makers so that's why everyone assumes now that a Season 3 would have been added after but because they actedl ike total retards they just ended it after the second season.

As per Wikipedia, it was implied that Rose and Jake ended up together. That had always been my understanding as well, though because it was left somewhat open at the end, obviously there was a lot of ambiguity, like you said. Unlike Kim Possible, where fans often had direct contact with some of the crew, we at ADJL never really had that (at least to the extent of KP). I know there was a blog post made by Matt Negrete at the show's end announcing the cancellation and speaking a little more to the show (a sort-of goodbye post), but I can't recall whether or not it was explicitly stated that they got together.
The blog post in question is now private, but unless I'm mistaken, there were members around here that still knew how to access it! If those members could speak up, we might be able to see whether or not it explicitly said anything about the relationship, unless someone remembers said post more clearly than I do and can comment on whether or not it said anything (it's been over three years, after all!).
If anyone else remembers any direct communication from the crew on this subject, by all means, say something. I remember one time we had Jeff Goode in a chat, but he was less involved with the second season and was unable to comment on the show's ending.

I swore i remember steve loter saying something about it but i can't remember. It may have been another american dragon board that is now gone though.
Yeah, I have over 6,000 posts on the Ron stoppable board. So i had a feeling the american dragon tptb didnt have nearly the interaction.
I do remember Loter saying how they had to cut a lot though. So thats why i figure if they didnt have to cut as much from honk kong longs then it wouldn't have been so ambiguous. But i guess tptb may have figured it was obvious that Jake & Rose ended up together and they thought they made it clear enough. But obviously some of us like things more explicitly stated.
I noticed that blog is private. Couldn't get into it either.
Loter hasnt used his twitter in two months so i'm not going to tweet and ask him. haha.
Thanks for the help though.
Edit: I see how Matt Negrete has a twitter. He tweeted 20 hours ago. So i may tweet him and ask him.
Jake and Rose did end up together correct? haha. Maybe. I'll see if he responds to my first tweet first..
@mattnegrete So you worked on American Dragon Jake Long on Disney correct?

As per Wikipedia, it was implied that Rose and Jake ended up together. ha, ha, im one of the editors of that page. (it only knows as much as us die hard fans do) any ways, it was never stated in any of the blog posts that Jake and Rose ever got back to gather. (used to be an avid reader of there blog) however the privet setting of it now has been annoying me. but i think its pretty safe to assume that the two got back together. (as per-say the original scripting for after Homecoming involved daily interaction and Jake would eventually get Rose back, however there were a LOT of changes form original to episode script) (if you do gain access to the blog perhaps could you give them a hint towards my way? would love to get back in)

Well i mean if they didnt get back together after that kiss then that would be odd. haha. Since i don't think im missing anything in the blog im not going to ask about the blog right away. But after i ask my one question if he does respond i will maybe imply about the blog. This is assuming this guy even knows what the ending is or if he knows for sure. But ill keep you posted. Ok, Here is what I asked... @mattnegrete Thanks for the reply. I have a question if you don't mind. You may not even know the answer and thats cool but i figured i.... @mattnegrete ..Would ask it anyway. In the finale "Hong Kong Longs" it seemed to me it implied Jake/Rose got back together? Is that a... @mattnegrete ...Plausible Assumption? Just curious if you have any incite into what the creator or Steve loter was going for. Thanks. He Responded.... MattNegrete slicknickshady It's a bit open vague but I like to believe they ended up together If you like the firm evidence...
