Nvidia (the leader in Computer graphics) has recently released its first 9000 series card. this card is set to be its mid rang power house for computers. this card is currently rated by consumers (of various sites) to be slightly lower than or equal to the 8800GT. the price of the 9600 however is a great deal less than the 8800GT. 9600GT $179.99 8800GT (comparable specks) $237.99 even the base line version of the 8800GT cost more than the 9600GT $200.99 specks (9600GT) Stream Processors 64 Core Clock (MHz) 650 MHz Shader Clock (MHz) 1625 MHz Memory Clock (MHz) 900 MHz Memory Amount 512MB Memory Interface 256-bit Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 57.6 Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 20.8 more info at NVidia if this is in the wrong place pleas PM me, and tell me where this belongs

If I still gamed, I'd think about it, but I do like ATI a little, they got good GPU's, but their drivers are piss-poor... Atleast that's how it was a couple years ago...
I use the GMA 950 on my IBM (main rig), it's not failed me yet.

If I still gamed, I'd think about it, but I do like ATI a little, they got good GPU's, but their drivers are piss-poor... Atleast that's how it was a couple years ago... Yeah, I agree with this. I've had my Radeon 9600 for about two or three years now and I've had more problems with the drivers than I'd care for. It's really frustrating. I'm gonna revamp my comp soon so I can get up-to-date with some of the new games (Team Fortress 2 looks like a PS1 game on my comp, plus I want to check out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Crysis) and I'm going to try out an Nvidia card. Though, I'm going for the 8800gt because I'm a sucker for "more bang for your buck" options.

ya i use the 8800GT, its got more processors and in general its got better drivers than the 9600GT so in total it will function better. however I'm really looking forward to the rest of the 9000 series of GPU's, seeing as DDR5 is now out...
