The first, and only major album by Toronto indie band Death From Above 1979, You're A Woman, I'm A Machine is a perfect example of how you can create a lot of noise with a bass guitar and a drum kit. The heavy use of cymbals and rapid distorted bass guitar riffs creates a fast paced, dance punk sound that only calms down during the song Black History Month. The album has spawned three successful singles, Romantic Rights, Blood On Our Hands and Black History Month. Although DFA has now broken up their music will live on.
Tracks:
1. Turn It Out 2. Romantic Rights 3. Going Steady 4. Go Home, Get Down 5. Blood On Our Hands 6. Black History Month 7. Little Girl 8. Cold War 9. You're A Woman, I'm A Machine 10. Pull Out 11. Sexy Results
