Okay, was this album good? Well, put it this way. After buying it, I became completely obsessed with Story Of The Year, and they are now one of my top fav. bands.
Was this album good? F*ck yes!
After kicking off with the awesome CD Page Avenue, the Punk/Rock band from St. Louis would follow up with their second studio album In The Wake Of Determination.
This is solid gold, featuring some of Story Of The Year's greatest songs yet. My personal favourites including "We Don't Care Anymore", "Taste The Poison", "Sleep" and "Is This My Fate? He Asked Them".
Their songs feature the same poetic lyrics and unique vocals of Dan Marsala that carved their name into the music industry just two years prior with hit songs such as "Until The Day I Die", "Anthem Of Our Dying Day", "Sidewalks" and "In The Shadows."
But this time the band return with an all style. Heavier, crushing guitar riffs featuring more of Marsala's intense, piercing screams, yet they still don't lose their catchy, harmonic choruses.
I would recommend this to any fan of Punk Rock, Screamo or just Rock in general, because it really is worth it. Lyrics you'll be able to relate to in so many ways.
Look out for SOTY's third studio album which is expected to be released soon too!
Tracks 1. "We Don't Care Anymore" 2. "Take Me Back" 3. "Our Time Is Now" 4. "Taste The Poison" 5. "Stereo" 6. "Five Against The World" 7. "Sleep" 8. "Meathead" 9. "March Of The Dead" 10.
