Ever since Spore came out, it's one of those great games ever, but unfortunately, Securom DRM has caused problems among us. What do you think?
I know it's bad, especially not only it applies installation limitations and it most likely crashes your computer. In the Red Alert 3 game, the problem is still yet to be resolved, especially people are still unsatisfied about it as piracy keeps on going no matter DRM is applied or not. To get your installation token back, you have to uninstall the game online, which is a privacy invasion. So then, got anything to worry about? Especially to you Red Alert 3 players and of course, Spore players.

hell no, Securom has serious problems that needs to be fixed or they need to find a better copy protection system.

SecureCom = s*it. One of my friends burned his PCbecause of this : it overheated his CD/DVD drive and burned all down. So when there's SecureCom stuff I download it ( I'm planning to do this with Spore ). I don't want to see my 2000$ PC burned off ! ( yes it's really the price, my PC is really custom an all this stuff ).

Securom already damaged, even the official FAQ at the official site says "does NO harm to your computer", which I don't believe it! Anyway, Spore is not the only problem, it all began with C&C 3 : Tiberium Wars & its expansion Kane's Wrath, it CRASHES your computer and is going to be forced to reformat. And now the upcoming Red Alert 3 is going to get it. Since Spore became the most pirated game ever, will you grab an original copy for the CD-key & goodies or will you grab the torrented Securom-free copy instead? Me, I buy my special Premier Edition DVD for the goodies & bonus disc, but NOT for the game when Securom is inside. I don't want to install a game with Securom in it, which can make my entire system gone rogue & forced to reformat after that.

I agree with you Kokusho. Seriously I'm thinking about downloading it and buying it. Then I'll use the key of the original game to play it and then I'll sell it on ebay. So I'll be able to play without this BIIIIIP ( AutoCensure Active XD ) SecureCom ^^. There was even an article in a newspaper in France which was saying that this new protection made CD and DVD drives making weird noises and eventually burn off. So seriously SecureCom is a serious s*it

I'm sure even Spore players also do the same, they buy the original because of the CD key and then the pirated one just for the sake of not having Securom to crash their computers. Or if they're the devils, both pirated CD key & torrented program also works. Me, I'm an honest person. Since like I said about the Premier Edition, I go for the stuff & that but not for the Securom-infected game disc. So I definitely may need a torrented copy of it. In that way, my computer will feel a lot safer once I install the pirated copy while using the original copy of the CD key.

I don't get it on the 2nd link, what's with Daemon got to do with it? Are they like supporting CD-protection? I was thinking of cracking up in order to avoid having my computer damaged from that DRM crap. Especially Red Alert 3, after the game releases, I can't afford to install it. Sure, I can do that, but when I'm going to work, I can't afford to have a PC crash and force to reformat, which is not a good idea.
Or maybe better if I would buy a pirated copy of the game, then it'll solve all the problems. But not until I better talk with my retailers to ensure if Securom is NOT inside the DVDs themselves. After all, they do work for the pirates too.

I haven't, even if I bypass, will it work well? Not sure, that's why I went to this place. www.reclaimyourgame.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68&Itemid=40I for now no need to worry about it, but the only thing I'm worrying about is after I played the RA3 beta, which is also infected by the DRM, my computer still runs fine as it is. But I'll be ready to use that method of removal by the time the computer is going rogue.
