Hiii. XD
Well, I was talking with Kevin on Friday, and he said I should write a ADJL story ... So, here I am. xD; It's probably Out of Character, because it's been forever since I've written these two characters. Not to mention the fact that I detest Rose, but eh. xD;
So ... Yeah. An actual story I might finish. Oh my god. XD;
I'm aware things are set differently in the ADJL zone. In my story, Fred's a dragon, Rose doesn't know. He lives in Melbourne in my story, so get over it. XD; Jake and Rose did date, but it never hit off. They became best friends after it. And of course I have OCs in it. Duh. =]
Oh .. as for the Taco Bell thing? Let's say Fred's never been to America and has friends who know people in America who say they love Taco Bell. XD;
It's short, but I've gotta go peel potatoes for dinner tonight. xD
Summary; It' simple; finish school pen pal assignment. Too bad falling in love with your pen pal bff for your school assignment isn't easy. Especially when you're an ocean away and you've never met before.
Pairings; Fred/Rose, bey-otchhh.
Rating; Teen.
Credit; Kevin came up with Rose's last name and the name Cody, because I was like "Woah, idk." Thanks, Kevin!
Disclaimer; Uh, I don't anything. Seriously, I don't. Go home now. D:
Hello ____.
My name’s Fred Nerk. I’m an Australian student Alemany High School in Melbourne, Australia, which I guess is kinda obvious, with the whole “Australian student”, but whatever. I’m sixteen, have a normal build … I’m not sure if that’s American normal, or Australian normal, but eh. I’m also not to sure about your school system (and my god, when you start your school year is completely insane. I mean, August? What the hell?), but I’ll say that I’m in year... you know, I don’t think I’ll even bother with that, I don’t want to confuse you. [A/N; aka, Ash’s way to d*mn lazy to figure out what the hell that year is. Eff that, man. I’ve got Untamed. XD]
Uh … Well, as you already know, this is clearly part of my school assignment. I actually have to get this turned into my teacher by tomorrow. Can you believe it? I actually get a grade on this, which means editing. Lovely. You probably can tell that grammar and all that sh*t is definitely not my strongest part. The English language is very hard to spell, you know. [A/N; I need a knife, n … n … n. xD]
Umm … more about me, because I just looked on the board and the teacher gave us stuff to write for kids who are clueless, like myself. Well, a little more about myself is that I’m in a queer-core band. We basically do covers of Nirvana and Metallica songs, some newer songs, but it’s really not our thing. I’m in love with Rock Band … drums = awesome. I clearly spend more time playing Rock Band than I should, when I should be working on homework … *shrugs* I guess that’s pretty much it. Expect for the clichés; my favourite colour’s green, and I like horror and comedy movies.
So, yeah … That’s pretty much it. What about yourself?
Oh, I’m dying to know. Why do you Americans drive on the wrong side of the road, what the hell is Taco Bell, why, dear god why, do you have the weirdest days for starting school. I mean, starting in August and then ending in May? That makes no sense, at all.
- Fred.
I ran my fingers across the page, rolling my eyes. It was probably, by far, the dumbest thing I had ever written in my life. I’m not a letter person; never was, nor will I ever be one. Sure, I had written letters to my family, out of respect and the annoying thank you cards, but to someone I never knew for a pen pal thing for my school? It was just plain weird. I considered erasing the last part; for it seemed stupid … The person would probably roll their eyes at me, not that I’d be able to tell. Quickly, I erased the last part and looked at the clock, were its red, bolded numbers told me I had twenty five minutes left of class.
English class never went by fast enough.
I looked around at my classmates, who were hunched over their letters, writing frantically to get the rough draft finished so they wouldn’t have homework tonight. The teacher was sitting at his desk, typing away on his computer, hardly pay attention to the class.
Twenty minutes to go.
“Ow,” I complained as I sat down in my assigned seat for English class. I had just gotten back from P.E dead early in the morning, and we had been playing Volleyball. It’s a sport that I love, even if I’m not all that good at it. Long story short; I was in the front row, down and ready, when the ball got spiked over the next by one of the varsity players … right into my face. Of course, she feigned innocence and apologized to me with a smile, but I knew she was faking it. She was a b*tch, and she hated me with a passion. I don’t know what I ever did to her, but she hated me.
“Hey, Rose, are you okay?” My best friend, Courtney asked me as she took a seat next to me. [A/N; Dear lord, does anyone ever remember Courtney?]
“I’m fine,” I replied, pulling out my English homework while trying to keep my ice pack in place on my forehead.
“I can’t believe she did that. I mean, she’s such a b*tch, you know? You want me to beat her up? And did she seriously just fake it? The only reason she gets away with things like that is because she’s on varsity, and … well, I hate to admit it, but her kills are killer for a being one of the smaller girls on the team.” Courtney rambled on and on until the teacher stepped in, completely flushed and holding her coffee and papers in the same hand. Quickly, she placed everything on her desk and started the class.
“Our school decided to try something different this year,” She paused and looked at the class, making sure we were all awake and having all eyes on her. “We decided to create a Pen Pal Assignment throughout the remainder of the year. You are to receive, write back, and keep a hold of these letters. Our school that has agreed to do this assignment with us is Alemany High School in Melbourne, Australia,” She paused again, rushing to her desk and grabbing, what looked like, a stack full of letters. “Each one of you will receive a letter from someone. Write your response, turn them into me. Time you get a response from your pen pal, I will give you a week to write your letter and turn them into me, so I can mail it off to the school. Are their any questions?”
Brad, the idiot who spent most of his time playing on the football field and not caring of his grades, raised his hand. Of course, Mrs. Santiago knew what his question was going to be. Everyone did, and he was wasting our time by asking it.
“Will he ever stop asking her that on every assignment?” Courtney whispered under her breath towards me.
“Probably not,” I answered.
Mrs. Santiago sighed. “Yes, Brad?”
“Do we have to do this assignment?”
“Yes, you do. Keep in mind that we are in contact with the school and will know who doesn’t receive a letter back and forth. It counts as forty percent of your grade this year, and if you really want to stay on the football team, I suggest you get to work on it.” Brad slumped back in his chair and muttered something to Cody, another star of the football team as Mrs. Santiago handed out the stack of letters.
As soon as the white envelope plopped down onto my desk, my life would be changed forever. At that time, I didn’t know it. Who’d expect one, all year long, school assignment, to be as lifer changing as it was?
Surely, not me.
So, uh. Yeah. xD;
