Doesn't matter if you guys don't like their live action shows; a loooot of people do. Just because it's something you don't like does NOT make it a bad decision. You make it sound like the small amount of people who liked ADJL are the only ones Disney ever caters to.
It's all a matter of opinion, guys. I know y'all don't like what Disney is now, but a lot of people and kids do, a lot more than those who don't. If they were to cancel all of their shows now and put back on the stuff you guys liked, trust me, there would be a MAJOR outcry and, honestly, the channel would go down the drain. Sometimes a lot of people around here act as if 1) they are the only people that Disney should be catering to, and 2) that everyone else in the world agrees with them. Newsflash: a LOT of people like Hannah Montana, and the Jonas Brothers, and what Disney is now. I'm sorry you don't like it, but it is what it is.
Disney is a smart company. Why? They've changed with the times, created new things for the new generations, and above all, MADE MONEY. If you don't like it, you don't like it, but they sure ain't gonna change for you.
This Marvel deal is a good thing for all involved. I think that eventually, you'll see that, but if you want to think otherwise, it's your life. Just hope you guys aren't holding these unmistakable grudges on the company just because they cancelled your favorite show(s) and don't show anything you like. Because if that is the case, there are maaany more TV channels and media giants out there.

So if I sum it up for you, you are very smart when you're able to make a ton of bucks, changed and created new things. Ehm YFWE, what you just explained isn't smartness, it's just normality: - Money = power to make stuff - New stuff = alays be on the top of the audimat -Adapt = avoid to be pushed in the trash.
Do I need to explain more ?

Actually, it's a matter of opinion and how you interpret the word. You don't interpret "smartness" the same way I and some others do. It's sort of an 'agree to disagree' type thing, you know what I'm saying? I feel like they've been a smart company. You don't. No big deal, we move on.
Though, nonetheless, I must ask you something: you consider it "normality," what Disney has done. So why are you guys upset with them for doing this if it's a "normal" thing for a company to do to stay afloat? I'm just curious here. If it's "normal" for a company to adapt, to put new stuff over old, etc., why are you always so upset when a show ends and when the company changes to adapt to a new generation?

Hmm, it is pretty nice that kids may like the live action show, similar the way they love Nick's Spongebob and not the other Nick cartoons. And correct, it's all about the money for today's times, they will not care to look back in the company's history. Because in their point of view which I assume, history is adios, just get away from them, because we don't care!

Yeah, I mean, it sucks sometimes that they're not showing a lot of the classic cartoons they showed, say, a year or two ago (or even more) in favor of the live action shows nowadays, but heck, you, me and Italian aren't even the target audience for any of Disney's TV shows anymore. So what we say or want really doesn't matter as much as, say, my 13 year old sister, who happens to enjoy some (though not all) of the shows currently shown, as do lots of her friends, and their friends, and their friends, etc. People like this stuff. Disney is not going to pull a show like Hannah Montana, which so many kids love, in favor of a show like ADJL, which has been gone for two years and which has only a small fraction of the fans of any of their other shows. Same goes for most of their other past shows.
In relation to ADJL, I think the best we can hope for any more is maybe some DVD boxsets of the show--you know, every episode, maybe some bonus features and behind the scenes footage or something. That's about it. The train has left the station and Disney has moved on to cater to the crowd that currently gives them the most attention. This Marvel deal is an attempt to win over some of the younger teenage boys who might be turned off by shows such as Hannah Montana. Not that they'll do much to change Marvel necessarily, mind you, but they'll at least have Marvel under their banner so that they can say that they finally have a place to appeal to that crowd. In my opinion, it's a very smart thing to do, though at least two people here will vehemently disagree, but it's a matter of opinion and being an optimist in relation to Disney. I think this will do well for both groups.

Hey YFWe I'm not pessimistic, I'm realistic, and that's a big difference. Look at the games like CoD 4 and CoD 5 . Well everyone was when they saw CoD 4 and they all D8 when they saw that the dev's of CoD 5 would be the ones who made the less interesting eps of the Call of Duty series. It was exactly in this way that it happened. CoD 5 is just a COD 2 with better graphics. The only good new stuff is the Zombie Mod which is quite awesome, but except that :-\ . Want another example ? I was playing on a cracked CoD 4 Zombie Mod server and the number of players was always between 35 and full server. When it became legit, well the frequentation of the server didn't went over 1 player and to end the story, the server closed. Colclusion ? Legit stuff fxcked up the server. Will it happen it some way like that with Disney ? I'm afraid so.

I'm not saying you're a pessimist at all. I'm saying I'm an optimist. That doesn't make you a pessimist because you disagree with me. However, you can't call yourself a "realist" because what you're saying "will" happen is only a matter of opinion. You don't know that this will happen. Therefore, as of yet, it's not real. Your opinion is not fact, and there is no need to interpret it as such. As for the COD example, you can use that if you want, but forgive me, but I see absolutely no relation between COD and Disney. It's like comparing apples with. like, grass or something. Two totally different things. I'm sorry, but your example holds no weight, because there really wasn't any similarities. This is a giant media corporation PURCHASING a major comic book/media company here, not some new continuation in a video game series over an old one. And don't even bother to try to explain it to me because I've played both games. There's no comparison. Though you're welcome to figure out another, more sensible example to exhibit your feelings. I'd recommend straying away from video games, though, because the last one wasn't very good. Sorry. Just because something came in and messed up COD5 does NOT mean the same thing is going to happen when Disney comes in with Marvel... did you not read the article I posted? Disney has a "if it's not broke, don't fix it" type of mentality, which means THEY ARE CHANGING NOTHING if it works already. So I don't think you need to worry.

Disney can bring good things even people may predict it'll damage things. Like you said, Disney promises to bring the good news, just you wait and see, that's they'll say. And so far, it's working well. Very well, I can follow you. But on the other hand, take Electronic Arts, another example, that company merges lots of smaller competitors (BUT as a hostile act), in the end, when EA gets the whole on the license on the old franchise such as "Command & Conquer", Westwood made it was awesome & supreme (Already merged with EA since years ago), but when EA is developing it, it just **** up the whole franchise which the fans say "EA killed Westwood", unlike the Disney part, Disney brings the good result when people thought it'll turn bad, but for EA's case, it brings bad results for real and the people's thoughts are true. EDIT : For the hostile act part, here are some articles regarding EA's merge companies as a bad mistake. en.allexperts.com/e/e/el/electronic_arts.htmwww.wired.com/gamelife/2008/02/riccitiello/EA CEO already admitted his mistake but unfortunately, the mistake is already done and cannot be undone, therefore, if you look at some of the old games like "Command & Conquer", if you compare the games from the 2 developers, Westwood's the best while EA's are all ****ed up. Gameplay is ok or good, but storyline & demands are all broken all over the place. Including the new C&C4, but many hardcore fans prefer the old style just like Westwood did, but unfortunately, EA turned that game into an MMO or near World of Warcraft system. AND it's even worse when many claims it's like a "World in Conflict" clone. It is very sad and it even breaks my heart.

Kokusho, you provided a much better and more sensible example than Italian did, firstly, so well done.
And of course, I can understand your worries. Disney could very well "kill" Marvel, who knows? They could send the company to hell, metaphorically speaking. But for every example of companies purchasing smaller companies and screwing up said company, there's also examples of larger companies actually helping the smaller company when it is purchased. I mean, it goes without saying, really, but this could go both ways. Disney could very well mess up Marvel. But they might also help it flourish. Time will tell. Personally, I think it will work out okay. I don't think Disney will mess with Marvel too much. And I mean, they have a good track record as of late... look how Pixar's doing.

Not necessarily. All of the movies made with Marvel characters (Spiderman, Iron Man, etc) were all, essentially, made by Marvel. They were distributed, produced, etc by Columbia and Sony, but at the heart of it all, it's still a Marvel production. It is their characters, after all. To say they have no say in the movie would be pretty wrong.
So yeah, Marvel covers comics and video games, but they cover movies too. They reach just as broad a spectrum in media as many other entertainment companies.

Some large companies can only do is to screw up the smaller companies' franchises rather than helping (Or I could be wrong, there's 50% good & 50% bad large companies in the world), some only helps to improve while some only gain for themselves, particularly stealing the former small company's money & its fame. If you remember my 2 war quotes, you should know EA is the main tyrant who thought to preserve the interest for us while they're only gaining money & fame for himself & to undermine us, for Disney, it is unsure until time will tell.

I agree with Kokusho, and YFWE about my CoD example, what I meant by that is that CoD was still CoD but it kinda sucka, and that's what may happen with Marvel being bought by Disney : Marvel will still be Marvel but not as good as it used to be.

I'm not saying it's not POSSIBLE that Disney could screw up Marvel. I'm just saying I don't think it's likely. I think Disney will adopt the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" mentality they claim they'll adopt, and I believe that, as with Pixar, Marvel will be largely a separate entity, still thinking for itself for the most part, just with some financial backing from Disney.
Could I be wrong? Yeah. Do I think I will be? No. I think everyone is just grasping at straws trying to make Disney sound bad because they have shows some of us don't like/cancelled shows some of us did like. Oh, darn. Maybe since there's no part of me that dislikes or ever has disliked Disney, I'm much more okay with all this. Who knows.
