I know, it depends on personality too. So I understand your choice, but not me, I ain't getting myself addicted to chain games, last time I wanted to play the Rainbow Six series as well but unfortunately, I find them attractive but I snapped out of it and managed not to get them at all. the Fallout 3 game is a dramatic shift from the previous Fallout games that showed up in the 90's. you don't need to know a thing about them to play this one to its fullest so don't let that keep ya from playing it. ---- TFUII time---- Finished The Force Unleashed II's Light side ending last night. this games a vary well polished game, everything flows smoothly, there's no load screens and the visuals are breathtaking to the extent that you may find your self distracted by the scenery. The PS3 version (the one i played) was a blast but like the candle that burns the brightest, it was over all too soon. the story line was a nice tie in with the original game and worked out vary nicely however the ending has me a bit confused as of how this fits in with the rest of the Star Wars universe and it gives an obvious lead in point for a third game. (it feels incomplete thanks to this sadly) the addition of challenges modes in fun but can only be entertaining as long as yours willing to deal with how frustrating some of them are. but non the less Ive found one that's got me really entertained. im going to do a second play threw and finish it with the Dark Side ending to see whats different with that one. but even if its lame (like the last ones Dark Side Ending) i wouldn't care, beating the snot out of Darth Vader never gets old! over all i would give this game a 8.5/10. Fun, entertaining, and beautiful visuals are dampened form an incomplete story line that's finished all to soon.

I don't mean by the gameplay, but I mean the storyline, same case for TFU2 as well. It's just like newbies who played Half Life 2 but didn't remember the events back in HL1, so they have to play it to find out how it begun.

Fallout 3's story is completely unrelated to the original 2 games.

^ Agreed. It's set in the F3 world but since it's not set at all in the same time period it's all different, and you don't even see one char from the F1 and 2 ( except the tree guy )

At least you got points, but I rather follow my instinct of not buying it anyways, after all, many sequel games usually take place after the last one so it's hard to tell. Sequel games that are not related to the past ones are not very common since I bet many gamers don't like sequel games built like this.

take it from me, ive played it and all of my friends have played it and those that played the original two will back me up on this one, its not a sequel, its a reboot.
updated thing on TFUII, the dark side endings ok... better than the origionals dark side ending but worse than the light side ending. new rating for game 7.4/10... (the level designs actually pretty bad for the last two levels...)

Hmm, understood. Anyway, I can end my presence here in this thread. Since I wanted to play & join in but I just don't have the time to do so anyways.

i would suggest renting if that exists, or go for a cheep method of getting your hands on TFUII if you do want to play it. (not worth 60$)

the first two levels are godly, so beautiful, details and the variations nice with great level design. the second two levels are the second half of the game are are obviously rushed, Kemeno for the second visit sucks, there's almost no background details! not to mention the fight with Vader is complete BS until you hit the second half which takes about 30 minutes to reach... also the ending sucks... it set it up for a sequel game that is completely questioning on weather or not these games are even Cannon any more...
the first game is a bay far more over all polished game, even with its problems, than this one. my only hope is that TFUIII is redeeming.
