All right! Let's talk about everything Jake/Rose! Opions, hints, and why we like it!

I like Jake/Rose because I think that is the deepest and the most complicated realtionship on Disney Channel since Gargoyles.

What?! Trixie and Spud get the Skate Park, but Jake and Rose only get the meadow in Central Park? Oh well, they did get that fantasy skate sequence sometime in season 1 (I saw it in a music video.) Oh well. Anyway, what do I like about Jake/Rose? Well, for one thing, it is indeed, as one of the producers has called it, "real and geniune." I can identify with Jake's pining for Rose, as it reminds me of the feelings I've had when I've had crushes- not just attractions to someone, but full-blown infatuation (as I've not had true love yet, or at least true love reciprocated). One of the my favorite parts of "Dragon Breath" is when Jake gets mad at Brad for dumping Rose, as it shows that Jake is not merely attracted to her physical bueaty, but has geniune concern for her as a person. And when he when he discusses "whether to kiss her... or incinerate her with a fireball," his face seems to light up at the former option. But there must be two person for there to be a 'ship, and Jake and Rose do have a certain chemistry. Not to mention that Rose is actually quite nice and likeable, and her attraction to Jake comes off as real. (In "Ski Trip," the fact that Rose - completely oblivious to the fact that he's her mortal enemy - wants to be with Jake only heightens the tragic emotions of the situation.) Kudos to Dante and Mae for their excellent voice acting. I'm looking forward to seeing the "finale" to the story arc that is "Homecoming," though I'm of a divided mind on the future. On one hand, I want Rose to wind up with her family (which I think that "Homecoming" will result in), though, from what we've seen of the post-HC situation ("Supernatural Tuesday"), she and Jake will no longer be a couple. (There's no way Jake would flirt with the pink hat girl if he and Rose were an item.) I also want them to get back (and/or stay) together, but (if indeed she does return in "Hong Kong Longs") once the Hunstclan's no longer in her life, where's the interesting storyline? Hmmm. I wonder whether this would be an appropriate thread to discuss what would happen if Jake and Rose someday got married and had a family...

A lot of fanfics do that, actually.... Jake and Rose getting married and starting a family.... (which I'm guilty of, though in my fic they just had a daughter but didn't get married 'til the end.... long story. )

Let's see,a dragon and a dragon slayer falling for each other (but are sworn 'natural' born enemies),going through akward stages to get where they are now and having all the love, angst, drama, heartfelt and hilarous moments altogther...what's not to love? And now that 'deadly' consequences are around every corner and they're 'still' seeing each other.Well,I just hope in the end love conquers all.Perhaps even death.Yes,love is stronger then death.^^

What happens to Jake and Rose as a couple, and their relationship on the show? It's questions like these that make me wonder if placing "Homecoming" in the middle of the season was such a good idea...

To be fair, "Homecoming" was originally the season 2 finale, as it had been greenlit for 18 episodes at the time. But then Disney decided to up it to 30 episodes, so "Homecoming" ended up becoming a "middle-of-the-season" ep with "Hong Kong Longs" becoming the season 2 finale.

That's interesting ... given that there's no guaruntee (that we know of) that ADJL will get another season, and that they probably were expecting season 2 to be the show's end, then that meant that "Homecoming" was intended to be a possible series finale. It began with Jake/Rose and the Huntsclan, and would end with Jake/Rose and the Huntsclan. Also, to help spark up some conversation ... with Rose's Huntsclan storyline wrapping up this season, how could the producers keep Jake/Rose fresh for future seasons?

Could you please elaborate? I'm interested in just what you mean by that. Well, besides the fact that Rose is going to have to figure out a way to fit in to her family when she finds them, how do you think they'd react to knowing she's dating a dragon? Assuming they've never been exposed to magical creatures before this.
