This would probably be one best eps if someone had found out a certain secret but that doesn't stop it from being any less of an awesome ep! ;D The humor was brilliant and the fighting scenes were probably the best I've seen so far.I mean,Jake got burned (literally). And Laoshi was actually pretty cool for once, letting Jake learn his lesson while knowing all the time what was happening.Heh.But in the end,I think Jake got a good boost of respect for his hertiage and I applaud all of them (the creator's) for focusing on aspects of the Chinese culture. All in all, this is one of the best episodes ever. LP

I loved the wrap around joke, when Lao Shi and the head phones. Johnathan saying he was 1 / 16th Chinese was great. My favorite line was Johnathan telling Susan and Haley to find their inner dragon. Haley's response was hilarious. Trixie and Spud's role was smaller than usual, but they found time to have their funny moments. And Haley is really starting to establish herself as part of Team Dragon.
And about Johnathan finding out the family secret, not in this episode as I thought all along. This is a holiday stand alone episode, nothing major is going to happen in a holiday episode. But it is inevitable that he will find out soon. Now Haley is starting to get frustrated in keeping the family secret. One thing to have one disgruntle kid, now Susan has 2 disgruntle kids. It is 2 vs 1 in favor of tell him the secret.
One more thing, Lao Shi going all Mr. Turner with his Boomgarden remarks.
Jake learning about Chinese heratage, could be a setup for my purposed ending of "Hong King Longs" Jake moving to Hong Kong. But that is a story for another day.

Decent enough episode for me. I found some parts to be rather dull, though I liked the wrap around joke when Lao Shi wasn't listening to Jake. Overall it was a nice filler, but I'm definitely eager to get back to the Jake/Rose storyline.
Rating: 7.5/10 for me.

I saw it just a few minutes ago. It was pretty funny, but not so good. I loved the part with the whole gramps not listening thing at the end. XD
I'd say a : 7.5/10

I'll give it a B-. It was funny, but I can't help feel a little betrayed by the preview.

It was different than waht I had expected it to be. I knew it wasn't the "Jonathan finding out Jake's a dragon" even before seeing it. That comes later. Some stuff was good. I think the worst of the bad luck was caused by the fairy. I know the whole cleaning of the shop is what caused most of it but just think. The fairy ultimately caused the destruction of the vase and he caused the box to open. Like everyone says, its just a holoday episode so nothing important happened. I agree with everyone else on what they rated it.

Jake knows almost nothing about his heritage at all. Let's hope by the time of Hong Kong Longs Jake will at least not ruin everything like he did (the whole offering thing.) My grams (grandma) watched it with me and thought Jake was a little disrespectful, but loved the whole Grampa doesn't listen to Jake either thing. I love how he kept screwing up all of the shop. The funniest part would have to be when Spud and Trixie were taking care of the shop. I'd give it about four stars.. out of five. Gung Hai Fat Choi to you all!

I'm sensing a sort of positive/negative vibe going on here. The only thing I'm disappointed w/ is the teaser that led some of us (I won't say who;okay me -_-) to getting their hopes dashed about Jake's dad finding out.Ah,well.He'll find out in Bite Father,Bite Son anyway so it's fine.

Hmm, well, apparently Jake did not receive much of the Chinese heritage, should learned that a long time ago when he's young from his mother or Gramps. Eventually the cathostrophic disaster could have hit Boomgarden instead, giving victory for Gramps over his rival. Nice episode as well.
Overall, 3.75 / 5 STAR.

Finally a good "filler episode" (in a very good way). Jake learning something about his heritage? Great! Extra point for this!
The action-sequences were quite good even if the episode was directed by Nick Filippi (in my opinion, Steve Loter's action sequences are much better, even in filler episodes like 'Bring it On').
7 out of 10

^ On TV (check airdates on Disney Channel, etc.) or just see it online on Dragon.Up.Resouce's website. But after seeing Viacom sued for millions,I think it'd just be best to watch it legally. LP
