Wow, that was an intersting entry. I can't believe Disney wanted to get rid of Rose. DARN THEM!!! There are times I wish the show was on nick X__X. Anyways I think the other version of homecoming would of been better but Matt and Eddie did a great job with all the things disney told them not to do.

I think it's pretty guranteed Rose will appear in HKL now. She's off to Hong Kong 'for a while' & 'the series finale isn't called "Hong Kong Longs" for nothin' XD But I'm so sick of DC getting on to them and getting rid of Rose, for goodness sakes!I agree that the J &R relationship is a little bit (okay, that's an understatement) it's very complicated but they really undermined today's youth I think.Though young kids may ponder on Jake and Rose's relationship as far as their feelings for one another go,it can be generally recognised that they wanted to be with each other (notice I speak in the past tense) and yet they couldn't be.At least not right away anyways.

The 'old' 'Homecoming' script was great in my opinion (Sun Park VS Huntsgirl in a volcano! COOL!). Too bad Disney did not accept it. Oh well. The actual 'Homecoming' is great too though.

I'm kind of glad they didn't do that Sun Park and Volcano thing. To me, that would have emotionally scarred Haley for the rest of her life.

^true that.
But it sure was an illuminating entry, and Disney Channel really is going down the hill. They have to realise at some point that it's not just children watching their channel anymore, adults and teens watch it too, and in result, open up more to cater to the wider audience, which translates to higher ratings.
that's just my two cents.

I agree with you, D.U.R. Disney has to realize that they aren't just a program for kids; plenty of teenagers watch their shows too.

Just a little addon: Disney must at some point realise that whatever ideals worked for their channel a few years ago don't work now.
As Cutler Beckett said in Dead Man's Chest: He must embrace the new world or perish.
This applies to DC and everything in the world right now. If one wants to stay ahead of the pack, one must reinvent itself. I read the comments on the online petition, and lots of families enjoy ADJL as it is now. Disney apparently doesn't. Reason? Too kid unfriendly. It's the same thing all over again.
Even Matt and Eddie commented on this very blog that ratings for DC were 'dismal', all because of their policies and the 65 episode rule.

The thing is, though: Disney only really cares about its target audience of young girls. And frankly, they're doing pretty well with some of their live-action comedy shows that are more targeted towards them (have you seen the ratings for stuff like "Hannah Montana"?).
But anyway, like most other networks, Disney Channel has a target audience, hence why they try to make their shows cater towards them. For the Channel, it's young girls. If those outside their viewing audience watch (young boys, for example), that's fine, but the Channel NEEDS the girls. Without them, there would be no Disney Channel.
It's the sad reality of the situation, but it's kind of the reason why the show never quite fit in at the Disney Channel (DC's less-attentive nature to their animated shows didn't help much, either).

when has DC been targeting young girls??
Anyway, I'd think poor old Walt would turn over in his grave if he knew what disney is like today. *Sighs*
