Fwee! Thankies for the reviews guys! :3
Well, I got something to say first. Soo... here goes. I love writing AUA; and I know you guys love reading it too (I hope). I love having all these reviews after every chapter. It makes me feel so proud and that I've achieved so much. But, well, sometimes when people bug me about updating or how I don't include certain characters a whole lot... well, you haven't known the complete facts. Because, I didn't tell a lot of people... but there's gonna be 30+ chapters. I'm not kidding; I might not even get done with it this year. What I'm trying to say is, don't keep telling me that the same characters bore you, please. It really bugs me since I love using certain characters (no offense) and that I'm doing this pretty much all for enjoyment (your's AND mine). So, just think about that before you bug me to a point when I feel... annoyed. But if you really are that annoyed, go ahead and skip this chapter.
Just saying, guys. I'm not mad. I still appreciate this all... but... just think about it, okay? By the way, today got me into a sour, upset mood... so don't be surprised if my attitude is weird and my writing is crappy.
Only other note is that when the song comes up near the end, the people singing with a song quote in parantheses is probably in the background, ike in the actual remake of the song. Enjoy? I guess.
An Unlikely Adventure

Chapter 13: Adventures in Romance
“What in the world is THAT?” Shade stared strangely.
Florence looked up, feeling a little less frightened when she saw the size of it. “I don’t know, but I have a bad feeling that it has something to do with Huntsdad.”
“Uh?”
“I really have no clue. But I think Huntsdad is trying to see if this… thing… actually does protect the school. Just to make sure it isn’t some ‘myth’. I don’t know; Huntsdad can be so confusing sometimes!”
“I see…”
They both looked around and saw that a dark figure the lurked the shadows… It seemed to have disappeared from above and made its way around, its yellow eyes glowing menacingly. The creature was almost unspotted for there was darkness that shrouded the area; it didn’t say a word. No moan. No roar. Nothing. It did pretty much nothing more than skulk the area and make the scene so ominous that it was hard to believe.
“What do we do?” Florence seemed to be panicking a little and sounding tense, seeing as there was a creature haunting the outside of the school on Halloween night. How ironic.
“I say we get that thing out of here.” Shade said a little more calmly. “It’s not like he’ll be that hard to take down.” Flo stood back while Shade transformed to dragon form and approach the creature without a sign of fear. “Let’s see what this… erh… thing… is made of.”
The mysterious being circled him as he just oddly stared at its strange movements. Still… he, or should I said “it”, said not a single word. Shade thought it was getting a little old already when all he did was go around in a circular motion continuously.
“… OKAY! That’s it!” He was getting a little fed up and was able to just strangle the creature. But what was strange was he couldn’t grab him; it phased through his hands as if it were a black thin smoke. He looked around, reverted back to human form, and saw no sign of it again; nothing more than the smoke that floated up the air slowly. “Uhhh…”
“Huh, you don’t see that everyday.” Florence said, scratching her head.
“Tell me about it.” Shade said, still glancing around.
“Sooo… back to the dance?”
“Yeah… back to the dance, I guess so.”
They both went back together, hand in hand, and pretended none of these anticlimactic events ever happened. But still, they wondered… if they had heard a sound, then what could it have been?
“See, I told you there’s something up with them!” Roxy whispered to her brother as they watched them go back inside. They were both hiding behind really tall trees and thick bushes.
“Isn’t it kinda wrong to spy on them, sis?” Chris turned to his sister.
“Well, I can’t help it; I just had to see what was up with them.” She paused. “And I’m guessing that Florence isn’t that ‘honest’ after all.”
“So what are you gonna do now, sell her out?”
“No. She’d hate me if I did! Besides, Huntsdad gives people the WORST punishments anybody could ever do to you.”
“You’re gonna keep it a secret?”
“Yeah… After all, they are kind of cute together.”
“So you DO have a soft side!”
“Whatever!”
OoOoOoOoOoO
“So… this is a nice dance, huh?” Kevin asked. He and Amanda sat alone together; watching as the slow dances still took place.
“Yeah.” Amanda replied. “It’s a really good feeling to know that you’re in one.”
“Yup.”
“Sooo… it’s… nice out here, huh?”
“I… guess… yeah.”
They both sat in seemingly awkward silence, falling back and forth—into and out of the conversation. It was as if they suddenly started having this strange feeling.
“What’s wrong, cat got your tongues?” Kay teased. She didn’t have any boy to dance with, so she just sat nearby Kevin and Amanda. “Oh come on, the slow dances and pairings are almost over! You better get on up there.”
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” Kevin said.
“Oh come on, like you don’t get it!” She kept on going on with her playful joke.
OoOoOoOoOoO
“Ugh! I thought I wasn’t so mad at her… but now, I’m so tired of her getting all of the attention!” They had returned to the Huntslair shortly after their little ‘spying’ thing. Roxy wasn’t too happy when Huntsdad saw her come back and tell her where she was going. “And how would she even be that well-trusted? Huntsdad doesn’t even know how good she is at getting away with things!” She started to mock him, “I mean, so I came home late! Then he just goes, ‘You know you can’t go there without Florence!’. Why is THAT way?”
Chris sighed at his sister’s covetous attitude. “Come on, don’t be so jealous of Florence.”
“I’m not.” Roxy denied. “I mean, Huntsdad might not BE one of the best people in the world… but sometimes I wish he would trust me more.”
“But remember sis, Florence is Huntsdad’s step-daughter.” He said. “And she’s been trained since she was little and—”
“AND she’s always been the trusted accomplice of the clan. I know, I know! Don’t rub her victory in my face!” She said angrily. “Sometimes, I wish I could just to tell on her… I mean, I have all of the evidence! I want to do this just so she knows what it’s like to not be trusted! Like everybody else in this dump!”
“Sis, calm down!” Chris almost shouted to calm her down. His voice turned calm and normal now. “First of all, don’t blame this all on Florence. Second of all, you got to learn how to loosen things up.”
“But you don’t understand! You’re not the one that’s been trying to show how capable you really can be.” Roxy was acting a little stubborn. “I swear, I could possibly do the biggest mission that Florence possibly couldn’t accomplish, but she’d STILL get all the glory. All Huntsdad cares about ninety nine percent of the time is Florence! It’s always Florence this, Florence that! WHY NOT ME?”
“Now don’t exaggerate it that far.” Chris opened the door to his open, turned on the light, and sat down. Roxy did so too. “I’m sure you could show Huntsdad what you’re truly made of.”
“You’re right! And I think I know how!”
“How?”
“By ratting Florence out… but I’ll give her a chance. If Huntsdad still doesn’t see how I really can be then I’ll have to do it the hard way.”
Uh oh. Her little brother thought with worry.
Did I just give my sister a bad idea?OoOoOoOoOoO
“I think it goes this way.” Al said, trying to fix his tie.
“No, Al, it goes like this.” Ash rolled her eyes.
“Naw. I’m pretty sure it’s like… this.”
“Al, your tie looks like an uneven fashion statement now!”
“No it doesn’t! Leave me and my tie alone!”
Shade and Florence looked at each other, exchanging nods that they were probably either insane or just being too crazy with their teasing.
“Ash is right, Al.” Flo said, coming up to them. “Your tie is supposed to go like this.” She started fixing it to how it really should go. “See? Doesn’t it look better?”
Al just sighed. “I guess.”
“Sheesh Florence, how do you know how to fix ties?” Shade said teasingly.
“Why? You want me to fix your’s?”
“Uhh…”
“Aw come on, don’t be a shy Shade!”
“No! Hey… wait. I just remembered; I don’t even have a tie!”
“You do now!”
Florence grinned and started chasing Shade like they did back in their dream.
“AH! Get it off of me! NOOO!”
There was so much imagined embellishment over this good-humored diversion… but hey, as long as there’s fun and laughing, then I can say that it’s all pretty good.
“Aren’t they just cute?” Ash said, watching Shade and Florence run after each other.
“Oh yeah!” Florence heard the conversation. “Hey Al! Ash told me that your tie looked weird!” She giggled and continued on with her chase for Shade.
“WHAT!” Al said.
“Hey! Watch it!” They heard Shade yelp before Ash and Al could start their own little playful little mingle.
Kevin and Amanda snickered at the sight of this, taking glances at each other. Ash and Al did so too, but for a different reason. They were not aware of this, but they both thought that they seemed to like well… good friends. It was funny; they could also look like they’re a couple when they really aren’t.
“Hey,” Ash whispered to Al silently. “You think we should push them together?”
Al looked slightly befuddled. But whispered back, “But isn’t that weird? They just met each other earlier today!”
“I know, I know! But they act like they’re really close friends. You know what I’m sayin?”
“Uhhh… can I pretend that I do?”
“Ugh, you’re hopeless, Al!”
Shade and Florence had come back but snuck behind them. They haven’t heard a single word they said, but they knew that they were up to something, right?
“Hey! What are you two whispering about?” Shade teased, startling them.
“Shhh!” Ash and Al in unison, bring the four of them into a huddled circle.
“Okay, what are you guys whispering about?” He repeated as they both kept their voices soft and inaudible to anybody but to the group.
“Well, you know Kevin and Amanda, right?” Ash said.
“Yeah…” Florence and Shade nodded.
“They seem like totally close friends!” She said, getting to the point.
“I know.” Flo said. “So, what about them?”
“Don’t you guys get it?” Ash inquired. “That’s exactly what I want to do; put them together!”
“You know, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea.” Shade muttered aloud.
“At least somebody,” Ash glanced at Al. “agrees with me and knows what I’m talking about.”
“Hey! It’s not my fault that I’m mentally challenged!” Al pouted.
“You’re not mental, Al.” Florence said, rolling her eyes.
“HA! Now somebody thinks I’m not stupid!” He said.
Shade and Florence took a glance at each other, shook their heads in disbelief, and rolled their eyes… but, at this time, turned their attention back to their plan.
“Hey, what about we sneak out of this place and I’ll show you some real fun?” They all stopped and listened closely to Kevin and Amanda’s conversation.
“Umm, sure! Where are we going?” Amanda asked after he helped her up.
“You’ll see.” Kevin said with a wink and they started heading off.
A few minutes after they had gone off to the back of the school, the four looked around to see if the coast was clear and took off after them.
OoOoOoOoOoO
“Soo… why are we at the back of the school?” Amanda asked with confusion.
“Because… I never really got to show you my powers before.” Kevin replied. “And truth is, I’m totally curious to see your’s.”
“Sounds like a… plan?” She said.
“I… guess so.” He said.
Kevin and Amanda changed form, turning from human to dragon. They both took a glance at what their “partner’s” form looked like. And it turned it to look a little better than they thought it would seem.
“Nice.”
“You’re not so bad yourself.”
Shade, Ash, Florence, and Al were all sneakily watching, admiring their talking and “bonding”. You know what I mean…
“Man, I just KNOW they like each other!” Ash said. “I just want them to get… PUSHED TOGETHER.”
“I feel ya.” Florence said. “I mean it’s pretty sweet, right?”
They both stopped their conversation and peeked back over to what they were doing; which was showing each other their awesome powers.
“Ice powers, huh?” Amanda asked. “Interesting.”
“Yeah, but I don’t think it’s as great as your’s.” Kevin queried. “Which was… what again?”
“I have the power of air and wind. And powers that regular dragons have as well.”
“Now THAT’S interesting.”
Amanda grinned. “Thanks!” Surprised by his impression, she spun around and formed a tornado-like force that pushed her up. But when it vanished, she flung her arms forward, performing a backflip, and landed on her feet.
“Impressive.” He said with a daunted tone.
While the four of them kept watching as if it were cinematic, Flo couldn’t help herself and started humming.
FlorenceDoo dooo doooo (doo)

Ash started staring strangely but motioned a ‘what the heck’ kind of shrug, and started singing too.

“Do you hear something?” Kevin asked, looking around. “Or… erh… somebody?”
Amanda stopped and listened, but she heard nothing. She just shrugged. “No…”
“Oh, alright… then I didn’t.” He muttered to himself.

Kevin and Amanda listened more closely and still thought they were being crazy…
“I guess it’s just my imagination.” Mumbled both of them.

They both looked up at the sky… The four of them continued their serenade for the two “shy people”, with Shade and Flo remembering the dream they both had. Kevin and Amanda found this pretty strange, and since it was pretty rare to see around the Isle of Draco. The stars dotted the sky with a luminous glow… It was as if shooting stars were lighting up the dark, night sky in the fall.
“Isn’t that cool?” Amanda pointed up to the sky.
“Yeah… It sure is.” Kevin remembered about his story and experience seeing it for the first time.

Kevin and Amanda have finally been noticing that the air in the fall breeze turned out to not be peaceful but as if it were a romantic song singing in their heads. Only… they could actually hear it.
“Man, I’ve been hearing this song for the past few minutes.” Amanda said. “I can’t help falling in love with you?”
“I can’t help thinking that I remember that song.”
Florence and Ash snickered and kept on going…

“Yeah… that song is so familiar.” Amanda said, hiding the blush that formed on her face. “I forgot where I remember it from, though.”
“I think the same way too.” Kevin grinned sheepishly.
End Chapter Thirteen
Well... this chapter wasn't my best effort, so I won't be surprised if you say it wasn't.
I feel so bummed and sad today. Don't ask me why. But don't worry, I'll work on chapter fourteen now. So don't make it seem like I'll be a total wretch tonight. I hope my romance wasn't too sucky tonight.
